But with his head lifting up, you quickly looked away, hoping he hadn't noticed. Vinnie caught you from the corner of his eye, smirking to himself as he continued his reps.

While you transitioned to doing lunges with a weight in hand, Vinnie moved to the seated row. The glances became something like a game throughout the session. Each time you stole a look at each other, your eyes would meet briefly, sparking a silent conversation filled with playful glances and shared smiles.

Upon completing your main workout, you headed to the stair master to finish with some cardio. Vinnie, having completed his sets, wiped his face with a towel and looked over at you. He couldn't resist the urge to be near you any longer.

• Though when he is high, it's quite an experience. It's not much of a difference, but he does get less aggressive.

• Once, he was walking a trail and a boy no younger that 10 ran past him laughing and yelling, not far after another boy came running but this time he knocked into vance.

Y/N raised a brow towards Vance's response, seeming confused by the way he was acting. With how long they've been dating, Y/N knew Vance wasn't used to showing love or even expressing his emotions well. He was a hotheaded kid, someone who hadn't had much love in his life besides when he was super young. And recently, the blonde had slowly been getting more... affectionate. Or at least he was trying his hardest to. The blonde had a shitty home life once he hit the age of 10, his father leaving and his mother having to take care of the two of them. 

Taking a breath, Y/N would hum out something under their breath, shaking their head towards Vance's comment. Taking a second, they soon spoke again. "Okay... But why?" They questioned, looking into Vance's eyes whilst staring at the mirror. The boys blue eyes were closed before opening again and looked right back into his partners (e/c) eyes. His eyes were narrowed slightly, as if he was confused about why exactly the other had questioned why he was admiring them. "Because you're gorgeous." Okay but listen, when reading Les mis, it’s always Grantaire’s monologues that are the most like the narrative parts of the brick. Each time R preaches it’s like Victor Hugo starting a rant on Waterloo or something, and so what if that is exactly the reason R is described so poorly. Like in a way Mr Hugehoe would expect you to hate him, but you cannot help but love him, and so that conclusion for me is that Grantaire is actually a self portrayal of V.H himself, at least how he sees himself in the world. Like at the actual revolution he himself just joined in as a viewer for the barricades. He started out as a royalist but later in life became such a republican that hes viewed as a political hero, changing his mind to 180 like R did, his own romantic life is similar to what R’s is described, as in he was with a lot of women of all sorts, yet he himself was still devoted to only one person.

V.H was actually exiled from France, which could explain why he always talks of Grantaire as an outcast like nobody wants him, even though he himself is filled with great ideas. So anyway, I just think that are a lot of symbolisms between the two and that looking at kt from various perspectives, to me it seems like Grantaire is the personification of Victor Hugo in the book and Enjolras is the way he sees his own ideals and beliefs that he feels can’t even engage in anymore as he was always deemed a talented kid but still he was exiled, and the way Grantaire longs for Enjolras is the way he longs to get back to France and do something finally. And that is why Grantaire is just the type of person who is described to be bad in a way, but people see beneath all that and just feel for him as it’s evident he has struggles. He has the most lines from the Amis, because Victor Hugo knew how he would speak as they were just his own words, that’s why it’s so easy to lock him into your heart, because Victor Hugo gave him the most soul, as it was actually personal for him, the way Grantaire is. And I think that is beautiful and I want to give R a hug, thank you

The Science of Discovering the Past: Paleoethnobotany

Plants have been important to hominids from the very first of our line. Understanding that connection is the milieu of paleoethnobotany or archaeobotany. Paleoethnobotany is the preferred term in North America, acknowledging the the 'contribution that ethnographic studies have made towards our current understanding of ancient plant exploitation practices' and archaeobotany is preferred in Europe as it 'emphasizes the discipline's role within archaeology'.

As a field, paleoethnobotany is about 200 years old. In the early 19th century, the chance discovery of desiccated or waterlogged materials were the first macrofossiles that were researched by botanist C. Knuth in 1826 in Egypt and O Heer in Switzerland (respectively). Interest in plants in the North America didn't pick up until the 1930s when M.R. Gilmore and V.H. Jones studied dessicated remains in the American Southwest. These studies focused cataloging and simple identification of plants found in archaeological sites.

During the 1950s and 1960s, researchers pushed for paleoethnobotany to be recognized as a subfield of archaeology. There were two main catalysts for this effort, the recovery of plant materials in the Near East and the publication of the report of excavations of Star Carr, a Mesolithic site about 8km from Scarborough in North Yorkshire. Together, these convinced the archaeological community that studying plant remains were important to the discipline.

In the 1970s, the idea that archaeology was also anthropology, or Processul archaeology, caused a rise in the field of paleoethnobotany. New recovery methods, such as the flotation method, where water is used to separate the carbonized plant remains from sediment and a sieve is used to recover the fossilized plant remains. In the 1990s, Post-Processual archaeology or interpretative archaeology broadened the field to include topics such as 'food-related gender roles'.

More recently, techniques have improved in collecting and analyzing remains as well as the ability to find microfossils, allowing researcher to develop a fuller picture of how early hominids used plants. This also allows researchers to understand how intense agricultural labor was, how resilient settlements and hunter-gatherer groups were, and how these changed and influenced with long-term social and economic changes.
