Vak tükrök

Napok óta ez jár az eszemben, hogy ha az emberekben két tükör van/lenne... Mintha lennének emberek, akik nem tudják a jó dolgokat visszatükrözni. Csak a rosszat. Csak a hibákat, a negatívumokat. Sosem váltanak át a pozitív dolgok tükrözésére. Ha jót tesznek, abban is a nehézséget veszik észre, a nehézséget kommunikálják róla. Milyen lenne egy ilyen szuperhős? Megmenti a világot és ott panaszkodik, rémes volt, büdösek voltak az emberek... bevágott a feszülős naci... azért a kurva anyját annak, aki kitalálta a vilégvégét reggel hat előtt! Nem az az érdekes igazán, hogy vannak kritikusabb meg optimistább emberek, hanem amikor rájössz, hogy a kritika kinyilvánítása nem építő és nem is levezetése valaminek, nem stresszoldás a panaszkodás meg kritizálás, hanem nem képes másra. Ennyit tud, ez ő. Ez a lételeme, ez folyik az ereiben. Az ő másik tükre törött, megvakult, nincs. Nos, valójában ezen az öröm visszatükrözésének képtelenségén gondolkodtam. Hogy bármi történik az ő életükben, bármi nagyszerű, csodás, örömteli, az a tükör, az öröm tükre, akkor sem mutat majd semmit. Elmennek egy étterembe, kiposztolják, megvan a dolog pozicionálás része, de az már nincs, hogy pfű, kibaszott jót ettünk, ez a rák/pocok/cipőtalp ez valami fenséges volt. Amúgy, önmagunk pozicionálása a posztjaink által, az is egy nagyon érdekes kérdéskör. Bármilyen meglepő, erős szerepe van, kapcsolatban áll a párválasztással. Azt nem tudom, hogy a vaktükrű emberek egymásra találnak-e és küldözgetik-e egymásnak a negatívumokat, mintha pingpongoznának, aztán potty, leesik és a másik kezdi az ütögetést... simán lehet. Persze, nem mondom, hogy a hurráoptimisták nem fárasztóak, akik szándékosan letakarják a fél tükröt, nem akarják látni a rosszat. De nekik a másik tükrük is jó, csak nem akarják használni. Félnek tőle. Az optimizmusban fürdőzés hasonlóan kellemes, mint a negatívumokban tapicskolás. Az előbbi nem szeretne csalódni, utóbbinak rosszabb már nem lehet, csalódás már nem érheti. Vagy ki tudja. Logan egyszer azt mondta nekem, hogy már többször nem úgy történtek a dolgok velem kapcsolatban, mint amire számított. Nyilván rosszra. Hát igen. Velem nehéz. :D Nade mégis az érdekel, hogy vajon ez a hiányosság a pozitív dolgok átélésére, visszatükrözésére, ez vajon hogyan lesz? Genetika? Neveltetés? Nem tudják, talán nem is kapizsgálják, hogy mit veszítenek. Gondolom ők szexelni is úgy szexelnek, hogy hát ez egész jó volt, de majd megunom úgy is. Ha beszélnek róla, kell lennie benne valami lefitymálónak. Vagy a kapcsolatból, a másik emberből képtelenek egy valamirevaló nem közhelyes jótulajdonságot mondani. Amiért megéri. De nekik, az ilyen embereknek is van párjuk/szeretőjük, szóval van valaki, akinek vagy mindegy vagy megszállott vagy beteg vagy jó üzletnek látja. Mert amúgy, más/sok tekintetben ők kiváló emberek. Lehetnek megbízhatóak, okosak, kötelességtudóak, de még szórakoztató is lehet a szarkazmusuk. Mondjuk, egyszer rájössz, hogy az nem szarkazmus... Sejted, hogy mindent megtesz és nem látod, nem érzed, hogy szeret. Mert olyan, mint bármikor, mint bárkivel. Sosem ragyog. Akármi történik, sosem boldog.

Whenever I get some sort of creativity block when doing Epsilon stuff, I just go back to Orgrimmar and start a random thing until my brain kicks back into gear. And this time it meant I completely redressed Grommash Hold with new props.

Reading fic rn and wow ... the straights rly can't help themselves. It's reduced a male character who's canonically kind of insecure and awkward and the more passive one in the relationship into being the one "chasing" the woman, being all "oh she's so Female that it transcends species and makes him horny". Except he canonically likes her because she beats so much ass that it's unreal and explicitly not because she's physically attractive to him. The thought doesn't even occur to him to sexualize her until she hits on him.

Like ... they're literal aliens to each other and he's not into her species and it actually takes time to develop that physical attraction, but here she's just so Fundamentally Female that he's into her from the start? Ugh.

Then they retextualize one of the more famous conversations between them so that he's the one being the calculating predator and she's the one walking into his trap by propositioning him. When in the actual text she's the one springing her interest on him and him being audibly surprised and confused by it, so much so that he initially innocently misunderstands her flirtation. It's such a well-acted scene that it baffles me that you'd change it just to make it more hetero and bland. Like you've made him more of a generic horny animal man who wants to fuck her because she's so Female, and removed her agency as a confident alienfucker by making it his idea for her to hit on him, somehow.

To me the appeal lies in the fact that he admires her so much and they're such close friends that he's never even considered taking it to the next level and is surprised when she wants to and feels insecure and inadequate about it! And she has to reassure him multiple times that he's what she wants despite their differences. That's the best bit! The transition from her being a mentor, to being a friend and equal, and then to FWBs and then to actual romantic partners. It takes time!

Why jump the gun like this? Why flip it entirely on its head and make it what it's not? Why do you claim to be a fan of this romance, even using canonical lines and dialogue in your retelling, if you're gonna butcher it this bad? Whatever.

I should just not read fic, I guess. Don't have the stomach for it.
