All of the candidates were crowdsourced from the @klapollo-minibang server in about the span of an hour. There will be two separate brackets-- one for the aunties, and one for the uncles. Sur les risques d'une guerre nucléaire en Europe

  Une chose me choque profondément, à chaque fois, c'est qu'on parle de la guerre en Ukraine en ne prenant en considération que le seul ''angle de vue'' ukrainien : Zélensky veut (on le comprend !) des tanks lourds, des avions, des missiles longue portée, et les seules discussions tournent autour de ''Qui va les lui fournir, quand, en quelles quantités''... comme si ce conflit se déroulait sans agresseur. Si on parle des russes, c'est pour les insulter, dire que leur chef est fou et eux des sauvages, ou qu'ils sont au bout du rouleau : la révolte couverait dans le pays (Tu parles !)...

Il y a une semaine, je concluais un ‘’édito’’ par : ''Ne jamais perdre de vue les Lois dites de Murphy : “Si une chose a une chance d’aller mal, elle ira mal, un jour”, et : “S'il existe au moins deux manières de faire quelque chose et si l’une de ces manières peut entraîner une catastrophe, il se trouvera forcément quelqu'un pour emprunter cette voie”. Dit autrement : Lorsqu'une possibilité de catastrophe existe, il est rare que, avec le temps, elle ne se réalise pas. On avait dit ça au lendemain de la seconde guerre mondiale –qui risque d'être  bientôt ''la deuxième'', si on continue-- et c'est au nom de cette probabilité statistique qu'avait été réduit le nombre des Etats ''autorisés à faire la bombe''. On n'en est plus là, aujourd'hui !

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (composé de 13 prix Nobel) annonce avoir avancé son "HORLOGE DE L'APOCALYPSE" de 10 secondes, nous apprend l'excellent Blog ''TTSO''. Il serait donc, à cet instant, 23 h 58 mn et 30 secondes. (NDLR : plus on est proche de minuit, et plus le risque de conflit nucléaire est élevé). Une précision, qui explique cet éditorial : jamais, depuis sa création en 1947, on n'a frôlé de si près la catastrophe, ce qui devrait attirer un peu l'attention, hein ? Mais non : tout le monde a l'air de s'en foutre ! Pour ma part, je n'ai qu'un seul espoir : que cette ''P.....'' de guerre idiote s'arrête sans que des conditions inacceptables la repoussent de quelques mois... mais contrairement à la cohorte des ''experts de l'Ukraine'', ou ''experts de la Russie'',  voire ‘’des deux'', je  ne trouve pas superflu de penser à ''ce qui dérange'' avant, plutôt que, comme nos amateurs immatures, de ''réagir en improvisant sur l'obstacle'', comme d'hab'.

Car, au fond, ces ''experts auto-propulsés'' qui polluent tous les ''JT'' (NB - LCI s'en est fait une spécialité : ''LCI, la chaîne spécialiste des spécialistes spécialisés en spécialités'' !) ont la même structure intellectuelle que les ''experts pour JT'' qui ont fait d'une sorte de grippe renforcée un confinement mortel, et ont détruit l'école, les enfants, l'industrie, les énergies... et les stocks de paracétamol, de moutarde et de ''PQ'' ! D'où que je ne croie pas un seul mot de leurs soi-disant prévisions qui ne sont que leurs fantasmes : depuis le 24 février 2022, ils dissertent entre eux... sur l'effondrement de la Russie... qui  serait en faillite un jour, en pleine guerre civile le lendemain, en folie poutinienne le surlendemain, et ainsi de suite... mais est encore là, et détruit les stocks d'armes de l'Occident. Le dilemme est entre ''ne rien faire et abandonner l'Ukraine à l'appétit de son immense voisin'' –qui est exclu-- et ''trop en faire et provoquer (une seconde fois) des risques insensés’’ –qui devrait être exclu aussi. D'accord , ''c'est pas facile'', mais il semble bien que nos myop-issimes aient opté pour le second membre... ce qui est une folie.

Je les écoute, consterné, se gargariser de mots con-venus (''La victoire totale de l'Ukraine'', ''La défaite de la Russie'', ''La prison pour Poutine'')... comme si la partie adverse était le Liechtenstein ou Saint Marin. Tout est si simple, pour eux : on livre à Zelensky, autant qu'il en veut, des tanks énormes de 50 à 60 tonnes valant 8 à 10 millions d'€uros l'un (Assurance contre le vol incluse, pour ce prix-là !). Le russki honni ne pipe pas...  L'Ukraine reprend le Donbass russophone (fastoche !) et la Crimée (russophone aussi, elle n'attend que ça ! Et tant pis pour l’ex-droit des peuples à l'auto-détermination : c'est Uncle Sam qui décide !). Poutine laisse faire, bien entendu, assez soulagé, au fond de lui. Et on signe la paix (Мир prononcé Mir, en russe, et on sait que Avec Mir, on se sent beau et bien dans ses vêtements !). Poutine est content, ses 7000 bombinettes sont sauvées, on se quitte bons amis, et lui demande à être jugé pour toutes les horreurs dont aucun soldat ukrainien (tous doux et angéliques puisque ''du bon côté''...) n’est capable, tout le monde sait ça...  Nos experts disent n'importe quoi... La preuve ? L'Occident est sans cesse obligé d'augmenter ses fournitures, en gamme, en nombre, et en puissance. Si ces ''experts'' sans expertise et sans neutralité ont raison, tous nos dirigeants sont des crétins masochistes... qu'ils sont peut-être, finalement, en y réfléchissant bien !

N'étant pas compétent, je ne préjuge pas de ce qui va se passer dans 3, 6 ou 12 mois : personne n'a les moyens d'une prévision honnête. Je décris juste ce que je constate, objectivement. Et je vois que ces mêmes ''va-t'en guerre'' discourent comme si la Russie ne possédait pas 7000 ogives nucléaires de toute taille, et que, à force de monter en gamme dans les matériels que nous livrons à un homme (et pas à un régime, pas à une démocratie, pas à un vieil état habitué aux tensions internationales : à un homme que rien n'a préparé à assumer ce rôle absolument fondamental), on risque de se rapprocher dangereusement du moment où l'ours va voir ''rouge'', ce qui, pour un ancien coco, du KGB en plus, n'est jamais bon signe !

Je sais qu'il est plus facile de critiquer que de proposer des solutions qui n'auraient aucun des inconvénients des uns et des autres. Les horreurs nazies (car celles, en gros comparables, des ''rouges'' ont été ''oubliées'' par le talent de la ''propaganda'' communiste) et le syndrome de Munich doivent effectivement être inoubliables : les démocraties ont alors cédé à la violence, en espérant éviter la guerre... et elles ont récolté le déshonneur, d'abord, et la guerre aussi, bien sûr. Je sais aussi que la réponse n'est pas facile à imaginer face au vrai problème tel qu'il se pose : ''Faut-il mourir vitrifiés pour Kiev ?'' Les hésitations des gouvernants –qui ont un reste de raison, malgré Ursula-- prouvent que ''rien n'est simple, quand tout est compliqué''... sauf les précautions à prendre, qui ne peuvent et doivent être prises... qu'avant.

Les USA, une fois de plus plus malins que les européens, ont fait semblant de livrer 31 ''Abrams''... Mais pas question pour eux de toucher à leurs forces armées : ce qui est à eux est à eux... alors que nous déshabillons nos cache-misère pour un oui pour un non. Sommes-nous stupides ! Les chars européens seraient opérationnels à l'été 2023, mais  les gros chars ''made in USA’’... dans un an ou deux, au mieux. Ou plus ! L'Allemagne a cru à ce gros bobard d'Uncle Sam et a cédé. Après des mois de refus, Berlin a offert 14 chars de combat Leopard à l’Ukraine. Et Sholtz, lâchant sur toute la ligne, a autorisé les pays ayant des Léopard (fabriqués par l'Allemagne) à les imiter, ce qu'ils font aussitôt.  la Pologne, l’Espagne, les Pays-Bas, la Finlande, la Norvège ou le Portugal devraient se foutre à poil rapidement : ces dizaines de Leopards sont un grand pas de plus dans l'escalade. Jusqu'où ? A quand les avions ‘’furtifs’’ ? Une fois franchies les bornes, y'a plus de limites !

Si l’on ajoute les 14 Challenger britanniques et les 31 Abrams US,  l’Ukraine devrait bientôt pouvoir compter sur une grosse centaine de chars lourds occidentaux... ce qui est insuffisant pour Zelensky qui en réclame 300 ''pour, dit-il, repousser les Russes, au printemps''. Le problème ? Les armées européennes sont déjà à l'os : si l’Allemagne ne peut donner "que" 14 Leopard sur les 320 dont elle dispose, c'est parce qu'il en reste moins de 200 opérationnels. Et pour les  chars français Leclerc, ne pas trop compter sur eux : leur production a été arrêtée en 2006 et nous n'en avons que  226 exemplaires, en tout… dont un bon nombre ont été ''cannibalisés'' pour les pièces de rechange, et "la plupart sont non opérationnels", affirme ''le Canard enchaîné''. Traduction : nos armées, déjà en guenilles, seront sans armes  en cas de ''vraie'' guerre (et non de ces si mal-nommées ''Opérations extérieures'' qui permettent, grâce à ce nom, de sauver un peu la face en faisant comme si...).

Mais rassurez-vous, cette générosité n'est pas perdue pour tout le monde : le think-tank ''FDD’’ (Foundation for Defense of Democracies) a calculé que le coût des équipements transférés par le pays de l’OTAN à Kiev équivaut à 22Mds$ (lire : 22 milliards de dollars !) d’exportations militaires américaines à venir, car les pays donateurs vont devoir remplacer ce ''matos'' par des équipements plus modernes et donc plus chers. C’est une super bonne nouvelle pour les marchands d'armes US.    Devinez qui sont, une fois de plus, les dindons de la farce ? Et qui seraient les principales victimes d'un élargissement de cette guerre à des armes nucléaires, même dites ''défensives'' (sic !) ?  Même avec un vieux gâteux complètement amorti à la tête du pays, le business US reste décidément le meilleur du monde ! Et nous, les européens, nous sommes comme toujours excellents dans le rôle de Gribouille

an assorted collection of abandoned sketches and works in progress. let's play a game: which ones do you think i plan on finishing, and which ones do you think i've just abandoned completely? the correct answer? I HAVE NO IDEA. so, in order: the valant one is very recent, made it a couple weeks back and it's nearly finished but i don't know if i'll get around to finishing it. then there's a year old perspective practice sketch thing with chantaul that i've had laying around because i'm afraid i'd be wasting time if i tried to complete it. the next one is a self portrait that was gonna be a lot more elaborate and detailed but never got past a certain point, but i think it looks fine as it is now. then there's a bunch of assorted OCs, which i'll probably post info on later even though nobody gives a fuck about my OCs. the very few people that look at this blog are only here for my fanart lol oh well

Quel est le meilleur micro pour enregistrer des voix de rap dans un home studio ?

Il n'y a rien de pire que de trouver un excellent morceau de rap underground, mais que les voix sonnent étouffées et décevantes. L'enregistrement de voix de rap qui sonnent clairement et reflètent précisément la puissance et l'émotion de la performance vocale est essentiel dans la musique rap/hip hop. Si le chant n'a pas un son professionnel, cela peut complètement détruire un morceau autrement incroyable.

De nombreux producteurs débutants commencent à enregistrer les voix avec un micro de moins de 100 $. En fin de compte, il n'y a rien de mal à cela si vous l'utilisez pour trouver vos marques et apprendre le processus d'enregistrement des voix.

Mais si vous voulez sérieusement produire et enregistrer des voix de rap, vous avez besoin d'un micro capable de produire un son professionnel de haute qualité.

Ce qu'il faut prendre en compte

Lorsque vous choisissez un micro vocal en général, il y a trois facteurs principaux que vous devez prendre en compte :

1.       Le type de transducteur : Les types de transducteurs les plus courants sont les micros à condensateur et les micros dynamiques.

1.       Les micros à condensateur ont une réponse en fréquence plus large et un niveau de sensibilité plus élevé.

2.       Les dynamiques peuvent traiter plus que les micros à condensateur et ont une réponse en fréquence plus basse.

3.       Modèle polaire : Il s'agit de la direction du son qui est traité par le micro. Pour les micros utilisés pour l'enregistrement de la voix, vous devriez principalement envisager les micros cardioïdes. En termes simples, un microphone cardioïde est plus sensible au son venant de l'avant. D'autres types, tels que les micros omnidirectionnels ou en forme de 8, traitent le son provenant de plusieurs directions à la fois.

4.       La taille du diaphragme : Recherchez des tailles de diaphragme plus élevées, car elles ont des niveaux de sensibilité plus élevés - parfaits pour les voix.

Ne vous inquiétez pas, j'ai pris en compte toutes ces options lors du choix des micros de la liste ci-dessous, mais il est bon de noter les raisons techniques pour lesquelles ces micros sont les meilleurs pour l'enregistrement des voix de rap.

Le meilleur micro pour enregistrer des voix de rap avec un budget limité ?

En interagissant avec nos lecteurs, je comprends que si vous lisez ceci, vous n'êtes probablement pas à la recherche d'un micro de studio extrêmement haut de gamme valant des milliers de dollars.

C'est pourquoi j'ai fait en sorte que tous les micros de cette liste coûtent moins de 750 $. J'ai également choisi des micros dans une gamme de prix se situant dans cette limite.

AND you KNOW there's some rumors about the gramarye's corruption that just fly around wildly. there's also probably one thats like "imagine Valant and Zak fight for your love and have to duel using their prop guns" or like "imagine Magnifi kisses you in his dressing room and [redacted because I can't bring myself to finish this thought]" because all these old man fuckers of COURSE exist in the aa universe just. it would be ridiculous because the Troupe Gramarye fandom in the aa universe would be 10x more batshit crazy than the steel samurai fandom and also be maybe half the size but would make themselves KNOWN.

GS4 vs AJ:AA - Turnabout Successor, Part 3

Hey, guys, I’m back. It just had to take the announcement of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles to bring me back into the AA fandom and back to work on this blog. No big.

I’ve gone back to add a few more entries to the last project update too (at least the lack of updates makes it easier to find those posts), so please check it out if you’d like. Now, I can finally move on into the infamous flashback case of this game.

Since this is a bit of a shorter one, I think I can get in the next part shortly before the end of tonight (I’m on PST), so look forward to that too! I’ll split up the posts ‘cause they’d be a bit long together.

ちょっと、ガッカリしてたトコ。 Bit of a buzz-kill, really.

<Judge> “こんなもの”‥‥？ "Buzz-kill"...? Is this some new kind of crime?

<???> 《サイバン》っていうから、 もっとこう‥‥ One of the worst. This is a trial, ja?

ハートにビリビリ 来るかと思ってたのにさ。 Where are the sweaty palms? The pounding hearts?

これなら、ガリューウエーブのギグ のほうが、よっぽどスリリングだね。 A Gavinners concert's got ten times the thrill this gig's got.

As expected, the judge isn't that dumb in the original script. Kyouya here expresses a bit of disdain for "this kind of thing" and the judge asks what he means.

<Klavier> 牙琉　響也（がりゅうきょうや）。 Klavier. Klavier Gavin.

法廷をアツくするために 来たオトコだよ。 I came... to get the party started. Legally, ja?

<Judge> あなたが、あの。 牙琉　霧人弁護士の‥‥？ Gavin? Defense Attorney Kristoph Gavin's...?

<Klavier> やれやれ‥‥こっちの世界じゃ、 アニキの方が有名、か。 Ah, figures my bro's more famous in this part of town.

<Klavier> いずれ、わかるよ。 ‥‥成歩堂弁護士さん。 I'm just getting warmed up, Herr Attorney Wright.

Sad to say, Naruhodo doesn't comment on any "American" or foreign accent he may have. Interestingly, his voice actor in all the promotional materials does speak with a distinct style that easily distinguishes him from his fellow Japanese, even if it isn't a different accent or dialect. It's a very subtle difference in how he intonates, I think. (If anything it's all the more disappointing that the US locale team didn't bring in a voice actor with a "Euro-rock" accent for Klavier in DD. They're the ones who came up with it! Maybe just couldn't get someone else for some reason?)

<Klavier> ‥‥で。ダレ？　きみ。 ...And you are?

<Gumshoe> ‥‥そういう聞き方をされたのは 初めてッス。 Hey, you were the one who called me up here... sir.

自分は、糸鋸　圭介 （いとのこぎりけいすけ）ッス。 Name's Dick Gumshoe.

所轄署の、殺人事件の 捜査を担当する刑事ッス。 I'm a homicide detective down at the precinct.

Haha, it's one of those things that can't be translated well, but Kyouya speaks to the detective in a way that reminds me of how stereotypical celebs talk down to their backstage staff. So Itonoko comments about how "This is the first time anyone's called on me like that."

Aw, Itonoko trying to speak in scientific terms feels like a kid trying to learn words. He ends it with "something-marete" as if trying to cite the doctor, so the judge corrects him with "Was it spoiled, perhaps?" By that, I mean that it was adversely affected.

たしかに、事実関係は シンプルかもしれませんが‥‥ The facts do seem simple enough.

なんとなく、スッキリしませんな。 But... something's not right.

‥‥なぜ、それを待たず、 “射殺”したのか？ ...Why not wait for him to knock-knock-knock on heaven's door? Why shoot him?

<Phoenix> （そうなんだよな‥‥こういう 　言い方も、アレだけど） (I wouldn't have put it quite so lyrically, but it's true.)

"Stairway to Heaven" and "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" references, GET!

In JP, Kyouya also puts it rather poetically, and Naruhodo comments on how the way he says it is a bit "out there".

<Gumshoe> でも。ジッサイは、ダレも 来なかったワケッスから。 Yeah, but no one did come, did they, pal?

自分のモットーは 《イシバシを叩いてコワす》ッス！ Besides, it's what I woulda done. "Always look before you shoot," I say.

In JP, his motto is the old Japanese idiom of knocking on a bridge before crossing it; aka be super cautious. The way it's written in English here, though, makes it sound like "Oh, yeah, I'd practice shooting in a hospital."

ただのチャラチャラした お調子者のニイちゃんだし。 And I haven't proven anything yet, beyond my good looks, and startling record sales.

<Phoenix> （自覚してたのか‥‥） (And utter lack of humility.)

Kyouya: "Figures, it wouldn't be exciting if it just ended here. Besides, I can't let it end like that... Or I'd just be some jangly sucker who rides off on praise." Naruhodo: "(At least he admits it...)"

Title: Literacy for the 21st Century Chapters 3 and 11

Takeaway (Chapter 3): Assessment is a vital part of literacy instruction and should be used in both evaluative and diagnostic ways in order to best support students.

Takeaway (Chapter 11): Differentiated Instruction is beneficial for all students, and should be personally rigorous, relevant, flexible, and complex.

Nugget (Chapter 3): There are several “readability formulas” that are in use to identify levels of books. The combination of analysis of vocabulary, genre, organization, and many other factors is very interesting.

Nugget (Chapter 11): Figure 11-3 provided many ideas for working through common reading and writing difficulties in the intermediate grades through intervention. These can be used to plan differentiated instruction for students.

Readerly Exploration: Explore the world through reading by using texts to answer questions about the world or generating new questions about the world from texts that are read + Make a list of three or four questions about literacy classrooms that come up for you as you read.  Then, do some preliminary research on one of them.

For this readerly exploration, I decided to write questions that came about while reading these two chapters and do research on one of them. The three questions that came to mind while reading were:

·       How do self-assessments interact with the self-efficacy or self-perception that ELs’ have of themselves? Does cultural differences in value for achievement affect this?

·       Should teaching the “language of testing” be a priority in literacy classrooms or can more holistic word knowledge instruction cover this?

·       Chapter 3 suggests that despite perceived displeasure with America’s school system, the achievement gap between groups is declining. Is this pattern continuing today? Is there a more recent study that details the current achievement gap?

The question that stuck with me the most after reading was about the achievement gap that is being measured by standardized tests. One of the main focuses of chapter 3 was how this testing affects the literacy classroom, and therefore how we teach students. I was curious about current statistics relating to the achievement gap and if it is really decreasing. Further than that, I wondered what practices are propelling and hindering closing this gap. In the National Assessment of Education Progress report from 2017, statistics show a continuous, but slight, decrease in the achievement gap between white students and black students for decades. The figure below shows this as well as gaps with other minority groups. To put this growth in tangible terms, the author of the article explains that, “…students in late elementary grades grow at a rate of around 0.3-0.5 standard deviations per year (although this varies across tested grades and subjects). Reducing the achievement gap by 0.2 standard deviations could be loosely interpreted as reducing the gap by about a half-year of typical academic instruction.” (Hansen) This research helped reinforce the current importance of these tests, and their use for recording gaps between groups of students. I had not thought about how learning test taking strategies is connected with teaching literacy. This has also encouraged my curiosity about what practices are working to close this gap and how to continue them.
