Somehow I thought it was just horrifying. And I think I know why now. I recently read a (very good) book which said that there was a difference between being lonely and being alone. BECAUSE (and that's the interesting part) if you live in an apartment with someone you really like, you can be alone because your never lonely. Even though that person may be not really there, they's there in every pot you use together, in the magnets on the fridge and in the pictures on the walls.

And it made me think... Ianthe has never been alone at all, especially not lonely. She's lived together with Corona and they have been seperated exactly three nights in her life. And now she is trapped on a scary ship without her sister, in a completely new surrounding. Nothing's left of her, except of (maybe) some letters. She must feel so lonely.

And to fill that loneliness, she surrounds herself with the ghost of a dead man she's never even met. With the little pieces of his presence that stick to his furniture and his other belongings. To feel less lonely.

I think that's somehow incredibly sad.
