Iso smirked as he admired two of the photobooth’s polaroids in his hand.
One for him to show off to his colleagues, and one for his eyes only.
Tumblr media
The sensation was disorienting, as if reality itself had been folded and twisted, before finally snapping back into place. You and Iso found yourselves standing in a dimly lit storage room, the air heavy with the scent of dust and forgotten memories.
Your head spun with the abrupt transition, trying to make sense of the new surroundings. Iso’s concerned voice broke through the haze, his eyes scanning you for any signs of injury from the intense battle that had preceded your arrival.
“Y/N, you okay?” Iso’s tone was filled with genuine worry as he reached out to steady you, his touch grounding you in the unfamiliar space.
“Yeah, ‘s just a scratch…” you reassured him, mustering a weak smile to alleviate his concern.
“Alright, good,” Iso gave you a soft smile, “Let’s keep moving, ‘kay? We don’t want to linger here too long.” He suggested, his voice echoing in the stillness of the room.
With cautious steps, you pushed open the creaking door, expecting to find yourselves in the midst of chaos or an unknown landscape. Instead, what greeted you was beyond comprehension.
The storage room opened into a sprawling emporium, shelves lined with an array of peculiar trinkets. But what truly caught your attention was the sight of familiar faces plastered across the merchandise that adorned the walls. Looks like it’s a… Valorant merchandise store?
“Whoa… they’ve got merchandise… of us!” you exclaimed, disbelief colouring your voice as you took in the sight of life-sized cutouts and figurines bearing your likeness. More like, your omega counterpart’s likeness.
Iso followed your gaze, a bemused expression crossing his features as he processed the surreal scene before him. “Technically, it’s not us, bǎo bèi…”
You hurried towards the display, your eyes alight with excitement as you examined all the merch, which made a mischievous thought cross your mind.
“Look, Yuyu!” you called out, pointing to a pair of figurines that seemed to mirror the two of you. “It’s us! They even put us together, like a set!”
Iso couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight, the absurdity of the situation not lost on him. A nagging question lingered in his mind— Did the existence of these figurines imply a deeper connection between the two of you in this alternate reality?
And, does that mean the both of you fuck in this universe too?
“I’m gonna take these home,” you said, a playful glint in your eye.
“Isn’t that stealing? Even my grandma said—” Iso’s protest was met with a dismissive wave from you. “They literally stole the radianites from our earth. This won’t hurt their pockets.”
Iso conceded, you’re right, they stole from us first. Then, a peculiar contraption caught Iso’s eye.
“Hey, would you look at that,” he remarked, gesturing towards a vintage photo booth tucked away in the corner of the room.
Intrigued, you joined him, curiosity piqued by the big box-looking machine. Iso’s gaze lingered on the faded advertisement featuring your Omega counterparts, with adorable animal filters on their faces.
“I wanna try it.” you said, excitement gleaming in your eyes.
“Go ahead—” he encouraged, but before he could react, you seized his hand and pulled him into the photobooth with you.
Tumblr media
You excitedly played with the features on the screen, while Iso stood beside you, watching with adoration in his eyes.
“Yuyu, you need to lean down abit, you’re too tall!”
He chuckled, adjusting his position to fit in the frame.
Sitting beside you, Iso burst into laughter when the bunny filter appeared on his face which made his eyes look round with a fuzzy nose and bunny ears.
“Look at you! So adorable ~” you teased, unable to control your laughter.
He sighed, playing along with your silly antics. Whatever you say, princess.
As the camera snapped away, capturing silly moments frozen in time, you and Iso shared playful banter, making funny faces and striking ridiculous poses. Laughter filled the booth as you lost yourselves in the moment, forgetting the chaos of the world outside.
After the last picture was taken, you eagerly retrieved the photo prints from the machine, anticipation bubbling in your chest.
You giggled at the sight of grumpy Iso in one of the photos, adorned with cat ears and bright pink cheeks.
“Is that too funny for you, hm?” Iso teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Before you could respond, he pulled you into a tight embrace, pinning you against the wall of the booth.
“Calm down, Yuyu!” you giggled, feeling his soft kisses trailing down on your exposed neck.
You gasped as Iso’s hand moved lower, moving your panties to the side, his index and middle fingers searching for your sweet spots.
“What if someone hears us—” you started, but Iso quickly cut you off with a reassuring whisper.
“The store’s closed, baby,” he murmured, pressing you closer to him. “No one’s gonna know.”
“So wet for me…” Iso smirked, his thumb sneakily rubbing your clit. You tried your best to hold out your moan but you couldn’t handle the pleasure, you threw your head against the wall of the limited space both of you were squeezed into.
You whimpered in response, unable to form coherent words as pleasure washed over you in waves.
“Y/N—” his voice filled with longing, his desire, evident in every touch and every kisses. “‘Need you so bad, bǎo bèi…”
Tumblr media
Iso pumped his cock a few times before inserting his tip along your wet folds. He nuzzled his face on the crook of your neck, slowly sinking his teeth into your skin as he tried his best to muffle his moans.
“Oh, so good for me…”
“Yuyu, I—”
Iso leaned back, making eye contact with you. “Look at me, bǎo bèi,” he said, his left hand reaching for your right cheek. “Be a good girl for me, yeah?”
You nodded, while holding onto his neck as you let yourself succumb in pleasure.
Iso couldn’t remember the last time he felt this horny. The urge to fuck you dumb right there and then, and he thought he’s going insane. Well, he’s about to.
He began to thrust into you, gradually picking up to a rough and unforgiving pace he knows you usually like.
With your legs wrapped around his waist pulling him closer, he’s impossibly deep inside your fluttering walls. His big hands palming your ass, almost covering them completely while his grip doesn’t falter, strong arms never getting tired.
Wet slapping sound with each thrust filled the room, your fluttering lips hugging each inch of his dick.
“You’re taking me so good, bǎo bèi… Fuck.” He breathed like it’s a revelation beneath your ear.
You let out soft whimpers and moans, thrashing under him as he sped up his pace.
“Y-yuyu, m’ gonna cum…”
You say through watery eyes, your throat dry from the gasping and moaning you’ve elicited as Iso continued to fuck you.
He chuckled, “I know, darling, I can tell.”
Iso knows too well what he could do to you, Iso knows too well when he feels the sweet clench of your walls around his cock.
Before you could mutter another word, the photobooth’s flash went off.
Wait, what?
“Smile for the camera, sweetheart.”
Your attempt to hide your face away from the camera seemed to fail. Iso’s huge hand grabbed your face, keeping you on display in front of the photobooth camera.
His thrusts became rougher and deeper, which made you roll your eyes.
“Only for my eyes only, only for me…”
You didn’t hear his remarks, too lost in the way his tip touched your cervix to care.

Winter, present day
‎ ‎
You wanted to call yourself stupid for not catching on. How wasn’t it obvious?
There was a gun in his bedroom and a medallion with a symbol that you've never seen before, even after relentlessly googling around. Purple eyes, mysterious disappearances, owning a house with undisclosed memories that he was just willing to abandon for your apartment, and… other than his grandma? Yeah, no family.
You sighed and pushed open the wooden doors to the café, allowing the bell above to announce your arrival on this boring and slow Monday. Yesterday was spent entirely at Yu’s house. Not only to tend to the trees you planted a winter ago, but to also keep searching for that gun. And, alas, there was nothing. Maybe he took it before he disappeared. Maybe he…
Ugh.
‎ ‎
You stepped behind the counter and pocketed your headphones. Only now did you hear Ying’s muffled voice way behind you inside her room, drowned out by the music. You were sure that she was speaking to someone on the phone, considering your co-worker called out at the last minute. Who, however, would remain a mystery. Not that you cared.
Then, the door swung open, and you heard the clicks of her shoes as she walked down the corridor, phone in hand.
‎ ‎
“I made sure to check it before I left.” She explained. “Around March, last I heard. That’s the only day– Y/N!”
‎ ‎
Ying’s previously quiet voice shot up a few decibels upon noticing you. But before you even realised it, your mind had prepared itself for the sudden incoming hug it really didn’t want.
‎ ‎
“Oh my God, I was so worried!”
‎ ‎
Her arms found their place tightly wrapped around you, completely ignoring the seemingly important call, as she had tossed her phone on the counter behind her in favour of this embrace. You placed one hand on her back in a weak attempt to reciprocate it. However, all you could notice was how cold her silky black ponytail was as it fell on her back. ‎ ‎
“I missed one day, Ying.”
‎ ‎
“I thought something happened to you!” She pulled away, her hands still on your shoulders. “You should’ve told me– where were you?”
‎ ‎
“At Yu’s.”
‎ ‎
Her posture immediately relaxed with that answer, and a wide grin painted her features.
‎ ‎
“Ah, is that so? And how are the lemons? I trust they’re in excellent condition.”
‎ ‎
You would’ve groaned at how she referred to a bunch of seeds underground as if they were babies being taken care of. But after that tangent, maybe that comparison was… Well, apt wasn’t the word, but, you know. Something like that.
‎ ‎
“Still acclimating. They require less maintenance in the winter, but…”
‎ ‎
Your words were lodged in your throat, and you were rendered unable to tell her exactly what you were thinking. But Ying somehow didn’t notice. Instead, she began taking a few steps back to close the call she’d abandoned, another idea popping up in her mind.
‎ ‎
“How large was his backyard again? Why don’t you plant more seeds there? Something that can withstand this weather?”
‎ ‎
“When’s the last time you’ve been to his house, Ying?”
‎ ‎
She placed one hand on her hip.
‎ ‎
“I visited Iso’s house a few times before, Y/N. I even recall mentioning the absurd size of his backyard. Ah, I think I used the word ridiculous, too… That might’ve offended him.”
‎ ‎
Ying explained thoughtfully with a finger on her chin. And from her dreamy tone, it was easy for you to infer that she was just about to go off on another tangent should you let her keep talking.
She promptly moved towards the register with this memory in mind. But before she could say anything, you interrupted her.
‎ ‎
“Who’s Iso?”
‎ ‎
‎ ‎
“Iso?”
‎ ‎
Ying stayed silent for a moment.
Then, she tittered,
‎ ‎
“I– I must’ve misspoken; I meant to say Yu.”
‎ ‎
You crossed your arms.
‎ ‎
“Who’s Iso, Ying?”
‎ ‎
“Ah, it– it’s just a character from a book I’m currently reading. It’s not anything important.” Ying fanned herself with her hand as she spoke, presumably from a bout of anxiety. “Anywho, as I was saying– would you like me to come along with you? We’ll find new spots for you to plant in!”
‎ ‎
You ran your fingers through your hair, leaning on the counter behind you.
Ying only had two Meyer lemons that day, and you managed to scoop out a combined amount of nine seeds. A lot, but compared to a normal lemon that had at least ten–fifteen seeds in one fruit, it was nothing. And what worried you was the prospect of you failing or only managing to get a few trees out of those.
It couldn’t hurt to have a few… backup fruits, right? If the lemons failed, you’d maybe have… something else. Besides, the cashier from that one shop seemed fond of you when you bought the garden ready passion fruit. You could purchase another orange and strike up a conversation with her. Besides, you needed to work on mentally desensitising yourself to being in his house.
‎ ‎
“I'll take care of it myself, I could use some alone time.”
‎ ‎
Even though every second of your life was composed of ‘alone time’ to the point that it was concerning. But Ying didn’t really want to mention that. Not when your mood seemed to be substantially improving with it.
She flashed you her familiar grin in response.
‎ ‎
“Well, if you’d like any help, I’m one–”
‎ ‎
“One text away, got it. Weren’t you talking to someone?”
‎ ‎
You gestured at the phone she set on the counter a while ago, referencing the call she’d abandoned in favour of this conversation. And you swore you could see buffering in her eyes before she caught on.
‎ ‎
“Oh! Right, thank you, I’d almost forgotten about her.”
‎ ‎
She quickly grabbed the phone and waved goodbye before disappearing into her office for the day. And by then, you had already known that customers made their way inside. You didn’t even need to look back to know. Not when that repetitive jingle gave it away, and the sounds of them snickering and gossiping to each other.
You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair, preparing to serve the group.
‎ ‎
❤ฺ·。
‎ ‎
You were still thinking about that gun even after it’d been a whole year since you visited his house. However, when you passed by his bedroom, the thoughts took over your mind like a virus. The urge to peer through his drawers once more grew unbearable, even after you’d done it a few dozen times. And each time, it wouldn’t change; there was simply no gun anymore. This weapon only raised more questions in your mind. None of them were new, except for one:
Was Yu dead?
Was that the reason for his disappearance? Maybe the hourglass medallion was related to it. Maybe they were a… an organisation? A group, something like that. Maybe he’d gotten into a fight with these people, or maybe they sent someone out to kill him. But why?
You thought of at least a hundred possibilities as to how he would’ve died, but none of it made sense because of one thing, how did someone like Yu get involved with people like this? The only reason you entertained it was because of his eyes, his nonexistent parents, and the bloody house you were in. There’s no way a barista with the same salary as you would be able to buy all of this.
But you never doubted him; you trusted him. You trusted his decision to keep it all vague. You trusted that, one day, he would tell you.
Maybe that was a mistake.
‎ ‎
Oh, screw it, you thought as you pushed the doors to his backyard open. Ignoring the familiar cold sensation that wrapped itself around your exposed face and neck was an easy task, especially when you were finally taking in the sight before you.
Six trees. But you already saw that before. What grabbed your attention were the white flowers scattered around the deep green leaves, like fairies that had sprinkled dust during the night. Once you’d reached it, you meticulously cupped one flower in your gloved hands and observed the shape, but all of it was healthy. All it needed was one more year to finally bear fruit.
The pearly white tint of the flower beautifully stood out against your black gloves; its thin petals curving in a manner so purposeful, you swore it was sculpted by the gods. They also needed pruning, you mused before going back to grab a tool you left behind. But you’d get to it after you watered them.
Incidentally, it was February; Winter was finally coming to an end. And this meant that the snow that coated the ground was starting to melt off, patches of dull grass sneaking through any opening they could in an effort to get some air. This made the shovel you were about to use somewhat redundant when it came to shovelling the snow.
Nevertheless, once you’d picked an empty spot in his spacious backyard, you slid the blade of your shovel under the thin mound of melting snow. Then, once you scooped up most of it, you tossed it aside and cleared the area.
‎ ‎
‘Why do you plant things in the winter? Why not summer?’
‎ ‎
Yu suddenly questioned from behind as he rested on the staircase after he’d done shovelling all of the snow. Since he’d volunteered and successfully done most of the gruelling work for you, you had enough space to finally plant the germinated lemon seeds once you were done spacing them out.
And to him, his inquiry made sense. Winter was the season of death, and even his optimism wouldn’t stop him from admitting that. So why would you pursue a hobby that sprouted life at that time?
You continued shovelling the snow out of the way as you remembered what you told him that dreadful day. And this time, you didn’t block your brain from pulling these annoying conversations from the depths of your mind – not when you wanted to remember the answer.
‎ ‎
‘Planting things in the winter helps them bear fruit faster. Moreover, the seeds I'm planting are winter fruit.’
‎ ‎
Despite sitting behind you, you could easily tell that Yu immediately perked up at the foreign term.
‎ ‎
‘Winter fruit?’
‎ ‎
‘Yes. It's exactly what it sounds like.’
‎ ‎
Whenever he learned something new from you, he would just have the cutest look on his face. If only you could see it now, you mulled. But that privilege was revoked years ago, and you weren’t in the mood to mourn right now. Not after all of your impressive progress so far.
‎ ‎
‘Lemons are a winter fruit?’
‎ ‎
You nodded.
‎ ‎
‘...What about oranges?’
‎ ‎
He noted the abundance of oranges you had at the time, and your silent plans to have them planted, if only it didn’t take years for the blasted trees to bear fruit. This question, however, made you pause at the time.
‎ ‎
‘They... are.’
‎ ‎
‘I see. And why oranges specifically?’
‎ ‎
Seemingly oblivious to the pause in your answer, Yu continued pressing on, unaware of the consequences of asking such a question.
Once the snow was out of the way and you’d cleared the grass, you moved back towards the doors and grabbed the nearby rake, ready to make space for your orange trees.
‎ ‎
‘They were my dad's favourite.’
‎ ‎
The answer came solemnly; the shift in topic immediately souring both his and your mood. And Yu quickly caught on to his mistake since he immediately rushed to apologise,
‎ ‎
‘Oh, I'm- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to…’
‎ ‎
You pushed a plentiful amount of dirt out of the way with only a few repetitive movements. And though they were few, you still felt the sweat form. The thick jacket you wore started to weigh heavily on you. That, and just about everything else, but were you really going to work in a tank top out here?
‎ ‎
‘No, it's okay.’
‎ ‎
Yu watched you stand up once you were done, dusting off your hands. Yet he noted how weak your movements were. How much hesitance was involved in just getting the dirt off of your fingers, or even holding yourself up.
How easily upset you were at the mention of your deceased parents.
At the time.
‎ ‎
‘Can we leave? I'll... I'll check on the trees afterwards.’
‎ ‎
He immediately stood up and took off his glove to pull you closer to him.
‎ ‎
‘Of course. You deserve a break, after all. Where would you like to go?’
‎ ‎
‘Do you remember the bridge I told you about? I heard it looks better in the spring; but we should go tomorrow.’
‎ ‎
Yu beamed at this, his fingers interlocking with yours, and his thumb had already begun outlining the lines on your palm. It sounded like an innocent suggestion.
‎ ‎
‘Tomorrow? Okay, but you'll have to send me the location in advance.’
‎ ‎
You remembered both of you leaving for the bridge that day and what came afterwards. You remembered the dread that followed you throughout the entire trip. Not to mention the gloom, all because you remembered your father. And it’s not like any of it was to be missed. You didn’t miss having your whole day ruined at the mention of one person.
You stood back and stared at the hole you’d dug with the shovel, measuring its width compared to the tree you were about to put in its place.
Perfect, you thought. It was all perfect.
‎ ‎
❤ฺ·。
‎ ‎
Summer passed by like a breeze, and Ying was beyond delighted at the harvest you brought back and immediately got to work with the others to turn them into delicious treats to sell. Luckily for you (or her), they sold like hotcakes, and today, once winter finally arrived, the moment you walked through the doors and heard the jingle from above, you already saw the results of your hard work.
Ying stood deep within the dining area in front of the wall that used to be empty for so long; now, however, it carried the large, expensive painting she had yearned for the past few years. And just like she predicted, it looked absolutely stunning. The colours perfectly complemented the warm colour palette of the general area, and the ladies and their surroundings bounced off of the previously dull flora she’d decorated the area with. That, and, you know, it was just a pretty painting to look at.
You approached and pocketed your headphones, but Ying needn’t look back to know you were there. The crunch of the ice under your boots was loud enough. All thanks to the strong snowfall outside.
‎ ‎
“Isn’t this amazing? It feels like I renovated the whole area, Y/N!”
‎ ‎
She said excitedly as she clasped her hands together, meeting your gaze. Did you even want to ask how long she spent staring at the painting? Not that it was a bad thing.
‎ ‎
“I admit. It does look impressive.”
‎ ‎
“And I couldn’t have done it without you! Speaking of which, you look happy today. Did something happen?”
‎ ‎
Ying asked with a tilt of her head, and your smile only widened at this despite your futile attempts to keep a straight face.
‎ ‎
“The lady at the nursery suggested I sell some of my plants there with her. I’m still considering it.”
‎ ‎
She didn’t know who she was, so you didn’t really bother telling Ying the name of this new friend you made. But her face still beamed at this.
‎ ‎
“Why not? You mentioned your apartment being cramped a while ago. Is that still the case?”
‎ ‎
“It is.”
‎ ‎
Of course she’d remember an off-handed comment from months ago. Besides, all anyone needed to know something like this was to simply glance at any of your windows, and they’d see the potted trees pressed up against them.
‎ ‎
“I’ll still have to wait until the weather clears up.”
‎ ‎
“I see. Good call.”
‎ ‎
She didn’t need to look out the windows to see the thick fog outside. The way to work was difficult enough for her since she had to avoid the black ice and check the weather for any potential storms. Nevertheless, despite how subtle it was, Ying immediately picked up on the wistfulness that bled into your previously content tone.
‎ ‎
“Is… something wrong?”
‎ ‎
Your smile slowly fell as you carefully leaned on the table behind you.
Don’t quote me on this comparison, I hate Chemistry. But despite solitude being bound to you like protons to a nucleus at this point, and vice versa, you’d been keeping this question to yourself, and it felt like it was driving you mad. For once, you needed to ask someone, and who better than Ying? And you weren’t in the mood to be subtle or to ease her into it.
Might as well lay it all out.
‎ ‎
“Is Yu dead?”
‎ ‎
She seemed incredibly caught off guard by the question.
‎ ‎
“Dead? That– that’s a… ah, a bold assumption… Why would you ever say that?”
‎ ‎
Should you even tell her about the gun and the hourglass medallion? Even though you were still pissed at Yu for keeping so many things hidden from you, you still felt it disrespectful to air out his laundry behind his back. Well, if he was alive, that is.
Besides, it’s not like she was innocent either. She had a mysteriously large sum of money herself, despite being a humble café owner. Speaking of… why didn’t she just buy the painting with that instead of waiting for your harvest? Maybe you shouldn’t ask everything.
You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair.
‎ ‎
“Just a thought.”
‎ ‎
“No, don’t say that. You’re doing so well, Y/N; don’t let the pessimism get to you!”
‎ ‎
You smiled in amusement at her words. Was the change in your appearance and attitude that drastic? You could’ve sworn one of the positive things about your genes was the lack of dark circles under your eyes. Ying, however, only kept going.
‎ ‎
“How about we visit his grandmother? I know both of you used to do that a lot. Are those lemons done growing?”
‎ ‎
“They are. I should be able to harvest them on Sunday if the weather gets better.”
‎ ‎
It’s been a while since you visited her. And honestly, you may or may not have missed her delighted smile and hug whenever she’d see you come in with freshly baked goods for her to enjoy. Shame this all stopped when Yu disappeared. If you took it this horribly, you couldn’t even imagine what she was going through.
‎ ‎
“Sunday? That’s great! Would you like me to come with you? I’ll bring the baskets!”
‎ ‎
For once, the offer sounded enticing. Hauling baskets around in a bus also sounded like a terrible idea. So…
You nodded.
‎ ‎
“I don’t mind.”
‎ ‎
“Wonderful! So, what do you always bring her? Was it lemon bars, or…”
‎ ‎
Ying started spitballing ideas as she walked you to the counter, attempting to come up with a list of lemon desserts for you both to bring. Sweets and baking weren’t her forte, but it was really fun to watch her ramble on about something she really enjoyed. It wasn’t that hard to tell that she never got to have a casual conversation with someone outside of work, anyway.
And so you let her talk, instead opting to listen to her in silence and only chiming in when she was out of words.
‎ ‎
❤ฺ·。
‎ ‎
Both of you settled on lemon pie. It was a nice change compared to the usual pound cakes you’d always bring her. And besides, you needed to bring something special after not visiting her for years, or however long it’s been. Not like you were one to keep track of time.
Nevertheless, a week had passed since that conversation, and things only continued to improve. Mentally, that is.
You were way too exhausted from tending to what felt like a few hundred trees all day. The work felt like it was never ending. It’s not like you were able to go outside anyway; the fog never let up since then. Even the buses were starting to reroute, and your path to work was getting more and more hazy.
Thankfully for you, it was Saturday; you’ve been up since the crack of dawn, and you’ve just finished your housework at two in the afternoon. Pruning, fertilising, watering and fending off fungal infections and diseases. Even though it was winter, an abundance of dormant plants still equaled a considerable amount of work. Sure, as Ying said, the air was fresher in here, but you needed to sell all of these plants. It was quite literally a forest at this point. That wasn’t to mention the ones at Yu’s house that you still haven’t tended to, the ones you were going to harvest tomorrow had the weather improved.
Once you set down your shears and gave your fingers the relief of rest after spending the past hour pruning your kiwi tree, it felt like they were just one wrong move away from falling off your body. And maybe that was the time for you to actually stop working.
‎ ‎
You walked back inside to your hotter bedroom and slammed the door to the balcony shut, taking a deep breath of the fresh air to isolate a specific scent. And it didn’t take long for you to spot it – the scent of hot chocolate. You’d just made it for breakfast and had completely forgotten about it whilst waiting for it to cool off.
Huh. Instead of drinking it in bed, maybe you should try something Ying would probably do.
You ran your stiff fingers through your hair and moved towards the kitchen, grabbed the lukewarm cup and headed for the living room. Once you sat down on the couch, the remote immediately made its way into your hand and the television was turned on. Yu’s blankets were still there. You washed and tossed them back there, since there was no reason for you to move them. Not like you felt ill when you looked at them. They were pretty warm.
Besides, you were more concerned with the television and whether or not it would work after being unused for so long.
And… Yeah. It was kind of boring. Scratch that; it was very boring. Ying was probably just way too old-fashioned for you.
You surfed through the channels for a few more minutes. And with every channel you passed, you were only further reminded as to why this blasted thing was never used. You surfed and surfed and surfed, eventually landing on whatever channel it was once you’d gotten bored enough and instead picked up the phone to scroll through social media. Maybe you really should hit up your landlord and stop funding this useless thing mounted on your wall, you mused.
Your train of thought, however, was immediately derailed once your ringtone blasted in your ears. Ying had suddenly called you. And despite your annoyance, you accepted it without thought, holding the phone up to your ear.
‎ ‎
“Y/N! Good afternoon, how are you?”
‎ ‎
“Hi. Do you need something?”
‎ ‎
She tittered, and you could feel her anxiously fan herself from the other side of the phone.
‎ ‎
“What if I just wanted to check in on my friend?”
‎ ‎
“So you… don’t need anything.”
‎ ‎
“No, I do. Are you free this March?”
‎ ‎
You sighed and instead looked out the window, your eyes locking on the rapid snowfall that only helped further coat the ground in tonnes of snow. Sidewalks, houses, dead trees, balconies… Well, the uncovered ones, of course. Your balcony was safe.
‎ ‎
“Possibly. Why?”
‎ ‎
This question was weird to ask, to say the least. Especially to someone who lived their life with no planning and went with the flow. But you did understand why she’d ask since she planned months and months ahead.
‎ ‎
“There’s something I must do, but it’s highly likely that I’d end up needing your assistance with it. Do you recall a few years ago, when you…”
‎ ‎
Then, the word ‘storm’ caught your attention, your eyes immediately darted back to the television as your brain tuned out Ying’s words. Turns out that the channel you’d stopped at was the weather forecast, and the woman was explaining an incoming catastrophic storm headed towards…
Crap.
‎ ‎
“I– I have to go; I need to leave.”
‎ ‎
“Where? What’s happening?”
‎ ‎
Without thought, you stood up and rushed towards the thick jacket you had hung up on the coat rack right next to the door.
‎ ‎
“Ying, there’s a blizzard. It’s headed right around the neighbourhood where Yu’s house is!”
‎ ‎
You slipped on your boots and grabbed your keys, stuffing whatever remaining essentials there were in your pocket.
‎ ‎
“What?! Y/N, wait, don’t tell me you’re–”
‎ ‎
“I’m going, Ying!”
‎ ‎
“Don’t! Don’t, just wait for me, I–”
‎ ‎
You slammed the door shut, haphazardly holding the scarf over your nose, and rushed down the flight of stairs.
‎ ‎
Ying failed to convince you not to go before you closed the phone and shifted all of your focus back on your path, and she especially failed to get you to understand what was truly happening through your skull. To her, you either didn’t notice the magnitude of the situation, or you just outright didn’t care. Rushing into a blizzard just to keep a few trees safe was something no sane person would do, even with how much those trees meant to you.
And despite the thick haze that blocked you from seeing only a few feet in front of you, the people rushing to get home as soon as possible, and the rapid snowfall, none of it mattered. You clutched the ice-cold pole inside the bus and leaned your head against it, its temperature seeping through your thick black gloves and stinging your skin.
Your eyes locked on the windows as you watched the driver struggle to make his way through the fog, and your heart raced fast enough that it nearly constituted a heart attack. People around you were scared. The children huddled with their parents like scared birds, and you swore you could hear a few of them reassure their kids that they were going to make it home just fine. But you tuned it all out in favour of what was important to you.
All you needed to do was get to his house. Get to his house at the very least, and it’ll all be okay.
Those trees will be okay. You’ll make sure of it.

Private Dimension of Pleasure
Pairing: Iso x Fem!Reader
Tags: nsfw, smut, power use, cock riding, kissing, enemies to lovers, teasing, masturbation mention, sex toy mention
Word count: 2k
A/N: His power is locking people up in a dimension with him... how could I not write smut with that kind of power?
Tumblr media
One moment you were running towards him, guns blazing, dodging his own bullets and then just as you were about to tackle his smug self to the ground you didn't know where you were. It was a void of some sort, but you couldn't quite move like you wanted. And where was Iso? Also gone.
"Ha, you fell for that? Easiest trick in my playbook." You felt the cold metal of a gun press against the back of your head. "Maybe you're not the rival I thought you were. Sad, any here I thought I finally found someone interesting." His sounded so full of himself you wanted to turn around and beat the shit out of him. If only you could move as you liked, "Don't bother, this is my dimension, you move when I want you to, how fast I want you to."
You clenched your teeth, barely summoning the strength to turn your head and look at him. "Coward. If this is what you need to do to win then you're even more pathetic then I thought. When they talked about a new guy on the team I hoped it was someone better." Your taunts got to him for sure, his eye twitched and his smile faltered for a moment.
Of course he still compared himself to others. He was as you said, the new guy. Still learning the ropes of being an Agent at Valorant.
Iso floated in front of you, his many guns dancing around him, trained on you but the one in his hand was at his side. "Aren't you the same? Isn't that why you're going after the new guy? You wanna prove yourself, same as me."
"Don't flatter yourself Iso. I'm nothing like you." Why the hell was he leaning in so close? Why did he get that little smirk on his lips just now? You'd kill to know what he was thinking right now.
"You remembered my name." His voice was softer then before. "You've been thinking a lot about me haven't you? How scandalous of you." A warmth spread across your face and the tips of your ears, both in anger of his taunting and of what he seemed to be implying about you. Scandalous? He was one to talk.
"Again, you flatter yourself. I have much hotter guys to think about while I'm masturbating." You said that so confidently, like it was an own of some kind.
Iso's grin was wider when he heard that little confession, "Who said anything about masturbating? Get your mind out the gutter woman. I was talking about fighting. But I can't really blame you, people do seem to get crushes on me pretty easily."
As if he sensed your anger he let you surge forward but not for a headbutt like you intended but a very sloppy and angry kiss. He knew it, he could sense how much you wanted him, each time he pulled you in here and teased you and fought you he could sense your lust growing together with your anger. Today he thought he could satisfy both of those at once.
"You ain't as slick as you think." He teased as his thigh slipped in between your legs, "Oh my mistake. You are." You resented yourself for the moan that left your lips when Iso pressed against you. This was supposed to stay a secret from everyone, especially him. You couldn't help it, you wished otherwise but when you'd fight him you began throbbing, burning up, and later in your bed riding whatever dildo you got your pussy onto first to push these lustful thoughts away before your next encounter. "Do you want this? Really want this?" The guns around him vanished, leaving just the two of you in the purple hue of the void.
His voice was soft, just like his fingers which played with your pants but didn't push further. He was aware that in this place he was in charge. He needed you to say it, to know he wasn't reading the signals wrong and making a mistake.
"We'll both regret this if we get found out." You were enemies after all.
"Then it's a good thing this dimension if fully private. Now tell me, do you want this or not. Because in case you can't tell, I really do." You looked down and saw that Iso was cupping his bulge and how it twitched when you looked at it. "If not I'm letting you out of here and taking things into my own hands. Fighting you is fun and all but I think this would get in the way. Plus it's a really easy target."
Sure looks like it. The perfect target for you pussy actually, which was fully protesting at how empty it was right now. "Not a word of this to anyone, you hear me prettyboy. I may not know where you live but I have friends who can find out." You started pulling his zipper down as his hands pushed past your pants and underwear, playing and passing through your folds to circle your pussyhole and make his fingers wet. "Or if you tease me."
"How scary. I better not waste time then." Iso pushed your clothes down and onto the way, same with his own. "Ready?"
Instead of simply spreading your legs you pushed yourself onto him and wrapped them around his shoulders, his jacket digging slightly into your thighs. Iso let out a shaky breath when he felt your pussy rubbing up against his hard cock and up to the tip, "Now I am."
"Someone really wants this. Has it been a while since you had sex?" You got the sense that he wasn't asking to make fun of you but to gauge how fast he can take this. It was sweet considering Iso usually took every opportunity he could to tease you.
"Not since I joined my team. You?" Hopefully he wasn't already seeing anyone. He didn't seem like that kind of guy but who knows, anyone can make a bad judgment of character. Iso pretended to think about it for a good long while, or it might have been a few seconds, time was always wonky in this place, "Iso!"
"Kidding! I've been with a few people but not since I started thinking about you. Which was pretty much right after we first met. So almost as long as you. It's been just me and my hand." The same hand he was now pushing towards you lips, the one that teased you and just before that was pointing a gun at you. "Won't be just the two of us anymore right?"
"If you play your cards right it won't." You rolled your hips against him, trying to make the cock go in but it was tricky at this angle. You could look down but that would require you looking away from his pretty face and you didn't want that either.
Iso laughed at your enthusiasm. He balanced you against him with one hand, the other brushing its fingers over your lips, letting you taste yourself just a little but not pushing in. His cock pushed in though, inch by inch, twitching more with every little bit that was sheathed inside you fully.
"Way better then my hand." You certainly hoped your pussy was better.
"Your hands feel nice though. Surpassingly smooth for someone who wields guns every day." You wouldn't mind feeling his hands on you more often. "As for your cock, hm." You clenched your pussy walls around him, "I can say, much better then my dildos." If he was comparing then so would you, it was only fair that way. "But can it make me come harder is the question."
"You bet this sweet pussy that I can." Unfortunately he couldn't feel your nipples fully through his jacket and yours but he could tell you were arching against him as he started to roll his hips. The weightless state didn't allow for too rough of a thrust but each was just as deep s the last, his cock having the slightest angle and rubbing against your sweet spot perfectly. You pulled and guided him by his hoodie, his soft lips against yours, fitting all too easily. There was no one to hear you moan, just him, but you still felt the need to cover it up.
Iso noticed so he pried your lips apart with his tongue just in time with his thrust, savoring both the sound of his balls clapping against you as well as the sound of your moan.
He knew full well what he was doing, he didn't even mind you nibbling on his tongue, or how you narrowed your eyes at him. You couldn't care that much either when his cock felt so good sliding in and out of you, when his tongue made you go dizzy and his kisses made your lungs burn for air.
You moan into the kiss, sucking on his tongue when he pushes it in both of you lost in your lustful haze, drunk of each other, pulling, gripping, thrusting and riding.
"Feels good doesn't it?" He husks against your lips once the kiss is broken, "You feeling good from my cock?"
"You should be able to tell." You teased as he rolled his hips up again, grunting at the clenching of your wet walls, "But yes Iso, it feels so good. You're a good boy." You didn't even think much of it at first when you said it but the words seemed to strike a cord with him.
"Good? I'm the best one around." And he was determined to prove it right now. By making your pussy come around his cock. He wrapped his arm tighter around you, now pulling your bodies flush against each other, as close as they could get with the clothes still in the way. "Close aren't you? Your pussy's close to coming I can feel it. I'll make you come every time we see each other, so don't go around fucking anyone else okay? You promise?"
He wants you all to himself. You think back to earlier, how you hoped he wasn't seeing anyone, fucking anyone, it's the same, you really are just like him. "Promise I won't let anyone fuck me if you can do it instead."
There's but a single thought in his head right now, to make you come. He's so close, his moves are sloppy at best, his mouth hardly forming words anymore, promises and sweet whatnots for your ears only. His mind is solely focused on you. "I'll fuck you better than anyone. I promise baby. Let's see you come on my cock first, let me feel you even more."
He pumps his hips into you as fast as he can fire bullets, the weightless state no longer posing a problem because as he said, he is in control here. You feel tightness coiling in the pit of your stomach, you come so suddenly and so hard it makes you see white spots, and the hitch of his name making Iso go over the edge too, quickfire shots of cum filling you up.
Iso holds you close as you float there, entangled and breathing heavily into each other's ears. It was supposed to be bad how good this made you feel, how he, an enemy made you feel but there was no denying it after this, not even if you tried your headrest.
Iso holds you close as you float there, entangled and breathing heavily into each other's ears. It was supposed to be bad how good this made you feel, how he, an enemy made you feel but there was no denying it after this, not even if you tried your headrest.
"Don't be late for the next mission okay? I want as much time with you as possible." You didn't even notice when he pulled out and set your clothes back in place. Must be a trick of his powers, wouldn't be the first time they caught you so off guard. "Make sure to land on your legs, not your face."
Precious seconds were all you had time for, the last thing you felt was his lips kissing yours before you found yourself falling onto the concrete floor where you tried to tackle him before. His cocky laughter echoed in your ears, making you remember why you hated him in the first place. If it weren't for the pleasant throbbing between your legs you'd hate him even more.

Hey!! hope you’re doing well! anyways, if you could do a val x fem or gn s/o and what their favorite part of or thing about them is? (doesn’t need to be nsfw or anything like that! whatever ur comfortable with!) sry if this doesn’t make any sense🥲
Summary: Their favorite thing about you
Including: Chamber, Yoru, Cypher, Sova, Omen, Phoenix, Gekko, Iso
Notes: I'm doing mostly alr & thanks for requesting<3 Let me know if I understood it correctly!
Tumblr media
Chamber loves how accepting you are. You embrace all versions of him, the flirty Chamber, the serious Chamber, even the insecure Chamber he usually doesn't show to anybody. You don't judge him for his past mistakes. This makes him want to show the same amount of support for you.
Yoru's favorite thing about you is your competitiveness. He tried to tone his competitive streak down when you first met, but ever since you told him you didn't mind, you two compete in every. little. thing. The others think it's too much, but you two couldn't care less because it's fun.
Cypher loves your laugh. He's used to everyone being wary of him and his cameras, but then there's you, laughing heartily at his antics and his humor. It easily has become his favorite sound and it's so satisfying to hear.
Sova's favorite thing about you is your honesty. You always let him know your honest thoughts about everything and never hold back, even if the truth could hurt him. Because of that, he's able to trust you with his life.
Omen loves your hands. Whenever he feels cold and empty, which is all the time, your hands that softly caress his cheek and hold his fingers, bring back the warmth he has once felt. It comforts him and temporarily gives him inner peace.
Phoenix's favorite thing about you is your nose. He's a menace, he likes flicking it whenever he passes you and he thinks it's charming how it scrunches up in response every time. He also loves planting kisses on it.
Gekko loves your creativity and helpfulness. That you're offering to brainstorm with him whenever he has new ideas for strategies on how to use his crew in a battle or even for sketches for a new tattoo, means a lot to him.
Iso's favorite part is your eyes. Regardless of your eye color, he likes how bright your irises shine whenever you speak with him. It's a subtle sign of the affection you feel for him, which he also has for you.

First Kisses!
(Chamber, Phoenix, Reyna, Iso)
You get your first kiss with some of the Val agents!
Tumblr media
masterlist
Tumblr media
Chamber :
Chamber was shocked. You two had been flirting for quite a while but when he had never expected you to tell him you had never had a kiss.
“You want me to believe someone as gorgeous as you has never been kissed?” He laughs it off at first, taking in your blushed splendor.
“Never.” You confirm with a little laugh. His hand makes its way across your cheek.
“May I fix that for you darling?” His voice is suave and his eyes shine through his glasses. Always so calculating.
You could feel your heart beat out of your chest. It took everything in you to even mumble out a quick ‘yes’.
“I’m honored I am your first.” Chamber whispers in your ear before he leans in, his lips meeting yours. It was everything you had ever expected it to be. His lips were soft and moved gently as you learned the pace. By the time he had pulled away you were left breathless.
"You are a fast learner." He smiles as his thumb rubs at your cheek.
"And you are a good teacher."
Phoenix :
Phoenix and you were talking about random things from your guys childhood when the topic came up.
“I had my first kiss when I was thirteen.” He laughs and your eyes widen. You knew you were in the minority of people who hadn’t been kissed but.. thirteen?! That seemed so young!
“What? When was your first kiss?” He poked at you and you could feel the tension start to rise.
“Uh…” You sigh and a wicked grin appears on his face.
“Don’t tell me you’ve never had a kiss.” His smug look turns into one of shock when you slowly nod your head no.
“Right.. Well I think we gotta fix that.” He huffs as he reaches his hand out for your waist. “May I?” He wiggles his eyebrows and you can’t help but chuckle.
“Go on then.” You roll your eyes but you can’t help but feel pleased. If you wanted to have your first kiss with anyone it would be Phoenix. You trusted him and knew he wouldn’t do anything to make you uncomfortable.
His lips pressed against yours as his warm hand rubbed lightly at your waist. As soon as it started it left, leaving you almost.. disappointed?
“Want another?” Phoenix grins at your look and cocks his head. Sly bastard.
Reyna :
“Let me give you a little kiss.” Reyna teased as her hand wiped at the crumbs on your lips. You could feel yourself grow nervous at the implication. You liked Reyna a lot. But you had never crossed that line with her. Frankly, you had never crossed that line with anyone.
“Y-you don’t have to.” You stutter out and she only coos at your embarrassment.
“Do you not want one?” She asks and you don’t know how to respond. You do but if you tell her this is your first will she think you were childish?
“I do I just..” You stop yourself as you grow even more nervous.
“This is your first?” She grabs your hand and rubs it soothingly. You only nod as her smile grows.
“Then let me teach you how to kiss. You’ll like it, don't worry.” She breathes out as her lips meet yours. It’s a feeling like none other. You feel your body light up as she cradles you softly.
“Just a few more, hmm?” She muses as she moves back in.
Iso :
You were listening to music together on his bed after a long mission. He had never played this music before and it almost felt like he had curated the playlist for you. You stared up at the ceiling with him as the melody continued to play. You could feel his gaze on you and you turned.
His eyes bore holes into your head and you suddenly felt nervous. It felt like he could see everything.
“Y/N, I don’t want to ruin our friendship but I really like you.” He says confidently and your eyes widen. You had liked him for a while but never dared to say anything.
“I like you too.” You choke out and a smile appears on the mans face.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks and you could feel yourself squirm. If you thought too much into it you would back out.
“Do it.”
He takes your word and pulls you closer to him, his lips melting against yours. You close your eyes as you let yourself relax at the new sensation. You had finally had your first kiss. And with Iso for that matter.
You two finally broke the kiss to come up from air. His hand stayed against your arm as he just smirked.
“You’re a good kisser.” He whispers out and you feel pride fill your body.
“Thanks, it's my first time.” You grin and his jaw drops to the floor.
“What?!”

Radiant Recruit (Valorant x Reader)
Name: Y/N
Class: Radiant
Callsign - Nomad
You had been at odds with Kingdom for causing your abilities, and saw Valorant as nothing more than another group trying to reign you in.  Your power store radiant energy and unleash it proved difficult to contain.  Even worse, you could turn to pure energy and phase away.  It was a trick you used to escape Valorant time and time again.  Where you came from was only for you to know, until you were captured.
Tumblr media
(An idea of what Nomad can do // source: Infamous: Second Son)
Fade
Tumblr media
“Stop Y/N!  There’s no place you can run to that I won’t find you!”  Fade yelled down the hallway.  She had you cornered in Bind, inside the Kingdom refinery
“Leave me ALONE!” you screamed, unleashing a wave of radiant power at nearby pipes.  Steam filled the hall and you sprinted further away
A screech behind you caught your attention as one of Fade’s nightmares spotted you.  A terror trail led from your feet
Snarling prowlers rushed towards you and lunged.  You raised a hand and blasted them as they pinned you down
One sunk its teeth into your leg and darkness filled your vision.  Whispers surrounded you as memories of Kingdom spying on you resurfaced
Radiant power surged into your eyes before blasting through your body.  In your fear, you burnt through the last reserves of energy
Suddenly a voice cut through the chaos
“I have you now, ”
Weak sparks shot from your palm in an attempt to block the ball of tendrils Fade tossed at your feet
Seized by her power, unable to destroy the bindings, you found yourself resorting to struggling against the tethers
Fade took a Sheriff from its holster, the gunmetal gleaming in the red alarm lights.  She began to raise it upward towards you
Then turned and emptied the cylinder, catching the bullets and storing them in a pocket
“Valorant is not what you think, we are trying to do something important for the world!”
“So was Kingdom, I don’t care about what your cause is.”
“I was where you are right now, Y/N.  I was hunted by Valorant too.”  Fade’s tone softened
“What are you talking about?” You were slightly intrigued
“I…blackmailed them.  They sent a squad to catch me and could’ve killed me.  They gave me a home instead.  I trust them.”
“Prove it, how do I know you aren’t lying to get my guard down.”
“You can’t, but you have my word that we will let you go if you want to leave.” She reached a hand to you.  “Deal?”
Against your better judgment you decided to come along.  In an hour you were being flown to a remote island in the middle of nowhere
“So you know my name, but what’s yours?”
“Hazal.  Memnun oldum.”
Hazal sat with you, either for security or reassurance, in the conference room with Brimstone
“Y/N, I apologize for the methods we used but Valorant doesn’t have time for delicate approaches.  Fade has first hand experience with that.”
“I didn’t offer you another choice Brimstone,” Hazal seemed to feel some regret
“We wanted to get your help with Omega Earth,” he directed you to a hologram that showed all current information
It was unnerving, the doppelgangers and your personal clone trying to destroy the world.  The situation didn’t leave you feeling like you could run away
“So…are you in Y/N?”
“Count me in,” you went over to shake Brimstone’s hand.  He took it and handed you a keycard to your room
“You’re part of Valorant now Y/N.”  Brimstone nodded to Fade and you exited the room with her
“You’ll be assigned a callsign Y/N,”  Fade said as she led you to your quarters.  “Did you have anything in mind?”
“Uh, I guess we should figure it out while we have time.”  Your opened the door to your room and took a seat on the bed
Fade took a seat at your desk, looking around at the sparse interior before settling on you
“Y/N, what do you think about going by Nomad?  It would fit, don't you think?”
Iso
Tumblr media
“Oh shi-” you were surprised by a bullet ricocheting past you and putting a hole in the elevator controls
“Nice try Y/N, but you aren’t getting out of here unless you come with me.”  Iso chambered another round.  “Or else.”
“Go to hell!” you triggered a maelstrom of energy inside your body.  Radiant pulses fired from you and Iso lept to cover
Shifting into energy, you charged straight at him, ready to plant your glowing fists directly into his face
Hexagons spilled out under your feet.  Violet light blinded you before placing you into a strange space made of similar shapes
“You’re all mine Y/N.” a familiar voice echoed.  Iso had somehow captured you
The structures around you disappeared and a single shot rang out against the silence of the realm you were in
A bullet hit your chest, but the ballistic plate underneath stopped it.  It didn’t stop the force from slamming into you though
“Y/N, I admire your spirit but you lost this fight.  I won’t hurt you, I just want to show you what Valorant is trying to do.”
“And if I refuse?”
“You won’t leave here.  Ever.”
He wasn’t bluffing, but he didn’t seem like he wanted to condemn you to that fate either.  His aim was steady but his eyes were more focused on your response
“I’ll go with you, but if you try anything you’ll regret it.”
Iso sighed something in Mandarin
Purple energy wrapped you and placed you back in the building.  Iso waited for you to get to your feet and led you at gunpoint
The elevator controls were shot, so you and Iso took stairs to the roof.  When you arrived at the helipad, the VTOL was just landing
“Remember, I can trap you at anytime Y/N.  Don’t try to escape until we get to the island and we brief you.”  Iso was dead serious
He left you in the cargo hold of the VTOL while it took off.  He returned later on his phone and looked over at you
“Any requests for music?  I don’t like silence.”  Iso pointed at the phone
“(Your favorite artist).”
“I have a playlist for them, tell me what you think.”
The ride to the HQ was more pleasant than you expected
Subsequently, you were lead to a room with the leader of Valorant for more information
Brimstone finished explaining the situation.  Needless to say the Omega Earth version of you destroying city blocks was a frightening prospect
“Y/N, if you help us out you’ll be giving us the advantage.  We can let you go but we can’t guarantee your mirror won’t try to come after you.”
“I’ll join your protocol if it means I can protect people from my double.”
“Welcome to the fight Y/N.  Iso, take Y/N to the armory and get them fitted for their gear and run a basic shooting test.”  Brimstone shook you hand warmly
Iso and you walked down the hall, passing a few other agents that gave you a wave or raised an eye at your presence
Once you were in the armory, Iso went over ballistics and you did some basic target practice
“Y/N, have you given any thought to your callsign?”  Iso finished marking your grade in a tablet
“Not really, I do want something that sounds good and makes sense.”  you placed your rifle down and began a field strip test
“Since you were constantly on the run, how does Nomad work for you?”  He raised the tablet with the name entered in
“Sounds good.”
“I can’t wait to work with you, Nomad.” Iso nodded to you and handed you a magazine
Viper
Tumblr media
“Oh Y/N it’s precious that you think you can hide from me, but I like games of cat and mouse.”  Viper purred as you crept around Icebox
The woman had managed to cut off every escape from you, a fact she reveled in
“I assume you’re thinking that if you attack me, you can shut the toxins off and leave.” she was trying to draw you out, so you continued to sneak around
Viper turned and left
Green fog began to empty from the vents everywhere, catching you off guard.  It was then you realized she had been waiting for the toxins to get in the system
“Is it hard to breathe?  Try not to die before I find you, I don’t want to explain that to Brimstone.”
Coughing loudly, you attempted to crawl away as vertigo set in.  The toxins smelled like acetone mixed with acrid sweetness
Viper’s silhouette appeared as you lost consciousness.  Her figure towered above you as your eyes shut
“You’re awake, good.  I need you to listen to me Y/N, can you do that?”  Viper had unmasked and was now looking you directly in the eye
You nodded your head weakly while taking account of your surroundings.  Toxins had rendered your powers and muscles useless
“What do you want from me?” you hissed
“Join Valorant, we could use your-”
“NOBODY’S using me.” you spat back.  Viper glared at you
She removed a vial of poison and opened it.  She tilted the glass over your head, letting a drop hang over your eye
“Don’t interrupt me,” Viper narrowed her gaze, “Understood?”
“I’d rather die than be some kind of weapon for a bunch of sociopaths.”
“You aren’t in a position to argue, but we are going to play nice and show you the protocol.”
“Easy to do when I’m your prisoner.”
“Exactly Y/N.”
Minutes later you were being flown somewhere new, but had no idea what was waiting for you once you regained your motor functions
Viper and Brimstone sat with you, going over confidential files on Omega Earth and their agents.  It was shocking to your face among them as well
“We know they’ll end up using your mirror against us, so we need all the support we can get.”  Brimstone passed a keycard to you
You took it and shook his hand
“I’ll take Y/N to the medical wing and run biometrics so we can plan countermeasures against their double.”  Viper motioned for you to join her
The biometrics were mainly just scans and a blood test, but Viper took time to explain what each piece would be used for
“Y/N, you need a callsign for me to enter your information under.  Any ideas?”
“Not really.  I guess there’s the fact I was always escaping, that could be something.”
“Well you didn’t escape me,” Viper smugly raised an eyebrow.  “But I do like that idea, how about Nomad?”
“I like that, it sounds mysterious.”
“Perfect, now let's get you to your quarters and finish the tour so I can get back to my lab.”
“Can I see the lab?”
“No.”
Neon
Tumblr media
“I thought you were supposed to be fast!  So much for the protocol’s ‘Sprinter.” you taunted as you sped away down a street in your energy form
Neon trailed behind you, each pace pulsing with electricity.  She had almost caught you but a quick energy burst saved you
Now it was a matter of running, which was easy for you to do because you could move through obstacles
That was your thought until you ran out of radiant power in the middle of the street
“Slow huh?” Neon was on you quickly.  You decided to fight, unleashing what little energy you had left in missiles of force
She dodged and closed the distance, using her speed to shift her target faster than you could aim
In the blink of an eye Neon grabbed your arm.  Volts spasmed down your body, paralyzing you
“No more running Y/N.”  Neon dragged you to the side of the road and away from the public.  She hid you under a bridge, seating you on a bench
“So Valorant sends you to catch me and then what?  Lock me in a cell until you need to destroy something?”
“No, we want you to learn how to control the power before you hurt anyone.”  Neon trailed off, lost in thought
“Do you really control your power or is it just them letting you loose on anyone they want?”  You needled at her doubt
“So you must have lost control at some point then, did they show up and lock you away?  Just like what you want to do to me?”  Provoking her was the only thing you could do
“It wasn’t like that!  They found me…but after I had lost control,”
“Don’t lie to me, they can’t help me and they can’t you either!”
“SHUT UP!”  Sparks scorched the ground near Neon’s legs
Neon’s anger turned to regret “They gave me training for it and helped me make the best of it.”
Neon began to smile a bit as an arc of electricity moved up her hand
“I’m sure we’ll do the same for you.”
Once you could move, you and her walked back to a extraction point
“Do you really think they don’t want to use my power for themselves?  You were sent on this mission right?”
“I volunteered for this, Y/N.  You won’t have to fight unless you want to but we have Radiants that want to help you control your abilities.”
It wasn’t much reassurance without definitive proof, but it was good to hear as you stepped onto the VTOL
“Plus you’ll train with me Y/N.  So I’m hoping you decide to stay with us so we can have a rematch.”
Neon fidgeted in her chair at the conference with Brimstone and Sage.  Reyna stood in the back eying you over and occasionally muttering something in Spanish
“Y/N, your power is going to make the difference in the fight against Omega Earth.  We need you to back us up.”
“I- I want to but I’m not,”
Neon looked over at you and her nervousness switched something in you
“I can get ready for the field.  I’m on board sir.”  Neon relaxed at your response
“Good Y/N, glad to have you here.  We’ll enter some information for your file, in the meantime Neon can show you to the gym for a physical assessment.”
He passed her a tablet
Neon led you around the protocol and took you to the training area.  She took the tablet Brimstone gave her and had you start the tests
It wasn’t a great couple of hours, especially because Neon kept her eyes on you struggling the entire time
Finally the running test came up, and Neon readied a stopwatch
“Y/N, do you want to race?” Neon tossed the stopwatch in the air towards you
“Sure,” you caught the watch and readied it.  “Go!”
She cleared the mile in under 7 minutes without her power before taking the watch
“Beat that Y/N.”
Your mile was about 9 minutes, which was expected from someone who didn’t run often.  Neon did tone her taunting down during the run which was a welcome change
“So…Y/N what callsign do you want?  I have to put one here so what do you want?”
“I don’t really have anything.  I would pick something about running or escaping-” Neon looked up disapprovingly “-but I guess that’s your thing right.”
“Well you aren’t fast, just hard to keep in the same place.  Like a nomad. Oh that could work!”
Neon put down Nomad in name entry
“We even sort of match too.  I like Nomad, enter it in!”  You nodded to her and got ready for the next step in becoming an agent
Reyna
Tumblr media
“Tienes miedo?  I love a good chase Y/N.”  Reyna’s voice barely held her sadistic excitement back
Carefully, you hid behind cover while Reyna stalked through the courtyard of Sunset.  Loading your pistol, you sprang from the cover and opened fire
A glaring eye filled your vision, and you shot blindly at the space.  The bullets dissipated the eye, but Reyna was gone
“I’ve heard so much about you, your power.  Don’t disappoint me.”  Reyna’s skin turned to shadows and glowed with unnatural energy
“I WON’T!” you bellowed.  Particles of radiant energy spiraled around your body and blasted straight through Reyna
She made no effort to dodge your most powerful blast as it corkscrewed into her.  At first you thought she was going to die
It was much more terrifying than that
Reyna walked calmly through the beam toward you, her intangible state keeping her from damage.  The blast lost power and stopped
“Que fuerte, but not enough.”  Reyna grabbed your throat and slammed you to the ground
“If you struggle, I will continue to have fun with you.”  Her grip tightened to emphasize the point
“I’m not joining your damn organization.  You and Kingdom are all the same, just preying on Radiants.”
“QUE DEMONIOS ME DIJISTE?”  Reyna yelled, she drove her nails into your neck.  “I- We are nothing like them.”
Her outrage was enough to quiet you down
“Kingdom is our enemy Y/N, we can bring them down together.  Join me and we will destroy them.”  Reyna reached a hand out
You took it
Reyna leaned in and whispered in your ear
“Somos unido, contra el mundo.  Do not forget they are terrified of us.”
Reyna sat at your side at the table in the conference room.  Brimstone and Sage went over the situation with Omega
“If Omega uses the mirror version of you, we would have a hell of a fight ahead of us without you to help us out.”  Brimstone gave a worried look to the holographic files
“Don’t worry, I’ll join the protocol if I can make a difference.”
“Come with me Y/N, we will see how useful you can be to us.”  Reyna took your arm and moved you to the training room
A few bots appeared and Reyna took a seat
“Go on, end them Y/N.”
It took little effort to turn the bots into scrap metal and burnt plastic.  In your elation, you blasted a hole in the window near Reyna
“Que increible Y/N, you certainly have potential.”  She ran her fingers over the scorch marked bots
“The protocol requires a callsign,” she passed you a tablet with an input.  “I would put in my suggestions but I don’t want to speak for you.”
“Wait, what did you have in mind?” you looked over to Reyna while she leaned against the exit
“Pues, I was thinking something that felt unburdened.  Something freeing.  Viajero, no como se dice,” she paused feeling for the English word, “Nomad.”
“It means someone on the run or that moves around.  That does sound like me.”
“Claro, I think it suits you perfectly Y/N.  Now, let's begin your training and sharpen your strength.”
She sauntered across the room and started up more bots
“Mataremos, Nomad.”  You and Reyna tore into them together
Sage
Tumblr media
“Do not make me pursue you further Y/N, I wish no harm on you.”  Sage cried to you
“Then let me leave,” you readied an energy bolt, “I doubt you could even hurt me!”  You shot, directly into her chest
“So be it.” Sage muttered
Jade, tougher than steel, coated her hands and began to work into her skin.  Life energy flowed in and she rose up
Her skin healed as she charged you.  You burnt through your power to launch a vortex of radiant energy
The sphere engulfed her, but when it passed she was completely gone to your surprise.  A hand landed on your shoulder, then a chop connected to your temple
Sage had catapulted herself over the vortex using her wall, and gotten directly behind you
As a monk, she was adept in martial arts.  It didn’t help that the barrage of fists, palms, and kicks was hard as iron
You tried to swing back, but couldn’t move.  Sage coated you in jade, effectively restraining you with every blow
“Do you doubt I could hurt you now Y/N?”  Sage’s tone was retributive but took satisfaction in her position over you
“I don’t care what you try, you can’t force me to work with Valorant.  You chased me down like an animal, just like Kingdom.”
“We did pursue you Y/N, but we aren’t like Kingdom.  We want to help you, not use you.”
“I’m not interested in what you have to say, I’ll break free eventually.”
“No you won’t, it is unmoving and you are too.  I want you to see what Valorant truly is, not what you think it is.”
“I don’t give a shit what Valorant is, you tracked me and trapped me in this.”
“We tried to bring you in but you refused because you thought we were Kingdom.  I want to prove we’re better than them.”
“By encasing me in rock and hauling me somewhere against my will?  Just like Kingdom tried before?”
“You’d run away otherwise, and I went easy on you.  I could have broken your legs and healed them later, but I wanted you to see we aren’t cruel.”
It was true, she had held back enough not to render you unconscious or cripple you.  Plus she didn’t sound like she was lying, her tone was honest
“I don’t know if I can fully trust you, but if you want to show me Valorant I don’t really have a choice do I?”
“Not particularly, but I promise you are safe while under my watch.”
She had your petrified body loaded onto a VTOL and flown to the HQ
Once you had been briefed, and Sage released you, she passed you a keycard.  Brimstone finished his report on Omega
“Y/N, please lend us your aid.”  Sage pleaded
“I’m in, don’t worry.  I was wrong about you all, I’m happy to join.”
“Sage, take Y/N to the clinic and give them a check up.  I’ll finish Y/N’s file and send word to the agents that we have a new member.”
You and her went over to the clinic and she sat you down on the table before taking a few instruments out
“Y/N, please remove your clothes.” she took a tablet and started marking things as you cautiously took your clothing off.  You blushed the entire time
Sage moved quickly, giving you questions while she looked you over.  She finished her check up and had you dress back up
“Y/N, do not worry I have seen the entire protocol naked.  I am just doing my job.”
“I know, it’s just strange because I don’t know you that well.”
“Then I hope we become close,” Sage smiled at you, “I must ask you about what you want to use for a callsign.”
“I didn’t think about that.  Do you have any ideas?”
Sage responded with a long pause
“I suppose something that suggests your strengths.  You are flexible and spirited.”
“Do you have anything that sounds like either of those?”
“Would you accept Nomad?  It is the word for people that have no single place they call home.”
“Nomad…” you thought about it for a second.
“I love it!”
“Wonderful, now let’s finish your recruitment Nomad.”
Jett
Tumblr media
“I’m not gonna work with the woman that destroyed Venice!” you screamed as you launched a volley of energy at Jett
The backstreets of Split had turned into a storm of bullets and radiant explosions, Jett was lurking in the rafters while you stuck to the ground
She nimbly dashed from cover to avoid the bursts of plasma, then took aim with her Vandal
“Shut up!  You don’t know what you’re talking about!”  Jett’s serious tone cut through the chaos.  Her gun ran dry and she began to reload
“You can’t lie to me!  I’m never joining Valorant!”  A gathering of particles rushed through your hands, charging a pulse of energy that blasted Jett from cover
Her body flew through the air from the force, and you watched with satisfaction.  Then she suspended herself in midair, turning to you
“I’m done with your shit, Y/N.” Jett summoned her knives, and sent them for you
Acting quickly, you used the rest of your energy to blast the knives from their paths.  Each failed to connect as the knives moved on their own, weaving around
Blades sped past you, then sinking into your clothes and pinning you to the ground.  Jett drifted down and knelt next to you, a smug grin painted on her face
“So,” a blade twirled over her finger, “care to correct what you said about me and Venice?”
“I saw the footage, it was you.  I won’t work for people who shelter a monster.”
“IT WASN’T ME!”  Jett’s control slipped and the knife embedded itself next to your neck
“She took everything from me,” a few tears fell down from Jett’s cheek.  “You of all people should know what being slandered feels like!”
It was true Kingdom had done their best to scare the public after they lost track of you, and wasted no time showing how dangerous you were
“You want me to feel bad for you when you’re hunting me like them?  They took so much from me and you’re no different.”
“Y/N, you don’t have anywhere to go.  Valorant stood with me against the world, I stay with them because they know I’m not the enemy.”
Silence gave you time to digest how genuine she was being.  You could see how wounded she was and what Valorant meant to her
“I want them to help you Y/N.  We both had our lives ruined but Valorant is our second chance.”
“I’m not against it, but even if I was you’ve already caught me.”
Jett rolled her eyes and helped you up
“Valorant will help you, it’s like a second family to me.  I hope it becomes that for you too.”
The fact Jett’s double had ruined her life was made clear to you once you were in the care of Valorant
Her anger flared whenever the photo would appear in the report Brimstone gave you.  Wind would pick up in the room, moving papers about
You signed on immediately when you realized that you could make a difference and stop the mirrors from unleashing more Spikes
“Jett, I’m sure Y/N is going to need some help navigating the protocol.  Do you mind giving them a tour of the premises?”
“Yeah, let’s go Y/N.  This place is huge so we should start now.”
You and Jett took a walk through the corridors of Valorant.  Jett took you first to the training room and showed you the scoresheet
“As you can see, I have some high marks but no big deal.”  Jett gloated, making sure a nearby Phoenix could hear here
She took you next to the living quarters and introduced you to Killjoy and Raze, both of whom greeted you excitedly
Jett next took you to the cafeteria, mainly to flex the fact she cooked last night
“I bet you’re hungry after everything, we can probably take a minute here and have some of the chap chae I made.”
You and her reheated the noodles and added some onions and carrots to it
“So Y/N,” Jett practically inhaled her food, “what were you thinking for a codename?”
You finished a bit of food, “I don’t really know what I’d go with.”
“How about Nomad?  I mean it makes sense ‘cause you’re hard to catch.  Plus it sounds cool.”
“It does, we should use that!” you agreed
You and her finished up and cleaned your plates, then finished the tour
“Y/N, Nomad, tomorrow Phoenix, Neon, and I are gonna get together for movie night.  You should totally join us!”
“I’ll be there!”
Deadlock
Tumblr media
“Don’t try and run Y/N, you can’t escape me.”  Deadlock’s eyes trained on you, watching for any movement
She had you at gunpoint, pointing a Phantom at your chest ready to fire.  Her finger was slightly above the trigger
“Nobody is taking me prisoner!” you shouted before leaping out of the way and phasing into energy
Deadlock fired through you, the bullets disintegrating as they passed through you.  You sprinted through a wall and detransformed
That wasn’t so bad you thought to yourself as you began to make your way across the room you had entered
A beeping noise caught your attention as you exited, you searched for its source.  Then you looked to your left and saw the Sound Sensor
It concussed you and sent you reeling into the main room of the Kingdom outpost.  You spotted the exit on the second floor and dashed up the stairs
“YOU’RE NOT LEAVING MY TERRITORY Y/N!” a yell caught you off guard.  A blue string floated in front of your face for a single second
Then an onslaught of fibres wrapped your arms and legs, restraining you.  You did everything you could to escape but it was too late
The cocoon floated somewhere, but a brief minute later you felt yourself being picked up and carried outside
Bitter cold crept in through the gaps in the nanowire, causing you to shiver.  Then you felt yourself being rested on snow
A knife cut through the web, a centimeter from your face.  It opened your face up to the chilling weather and Deadlock’s stoic expression
“Are you cold?  You keep moving like you’re shivering.”  Her voice was flat, unbothered by the freezing winds
“I-I’m f-f-fine, I don’t, n-need any he-help.” you did your best not to let her notice your teeth chattering
“You are an awful liar, we’re going back to the station.” Deadlock began a march back and threw you over her shoulder
“Put me down!”
“You’ll freeze Y/N, I don’t want you to get frostbite.”
“Why?  You opened fire at me why does it matter if I get cold?”
“I know you don’t deserve to suffer out here, and I didn’t shoot to kill.  Valorant sent me to collect you but we won’t mistreat you.”
“You’re part of Kingdom, I know you are.”
“I’m not, when our extraction arrives we’ll take you to our headquarters and you can see that we have your best interests at heart.”
You went silent, confused at the fact she was taking you back to the outpost instead of directly to her allies.  It wasn’t something a typical mercenary or Kingdom would do
“How long until they arrive?”
“A few minutes from now.”  Deadlock shut the door and laid you against a wall near a heating vent
“Rest Y/N, I don’t want you to freeze.”
Hours later, you were in the tropics at the Valorant HQ
You exited Brimstone’s office with a newfound appreciation for Valorant.  Your Mirror concerned both you and the agents around you
Brimstone had finished signing you up with the protocol, and you agreed to go to the armory to get an idea of what you would be training with
Deadlock led you through the headquarters, giving you a brief tour of the base before stopping at the weapon room
“Y/N, we are going to go over weaponry while the others finish notifying the protocol about you and readying your quarters.”  Deadlock handed you a Guardian
“Take it and see how it feels.”  She watched you explore the rifle and attempt to take it apart.  Field stripping was not your strength
Deadlock began to help you, as well as go over the rest of the armory’s collection.  You learned how to clean the guns which seemed to be enough for Deadlock
“I’ll have a kit sent to your room, but I have to ask what were you thinking for a code name?”
“Codename?”
“Every agent gets one, so we have to assign you one.”  She referred to her own ID card and took a seat at the firing range
“Come on, I don’t have the slightest idea of what to put for one.  What would you put?”
Looking upwards in thought, Deadlock paused for a second before meeting your gaze
“They gave me my name because I can stall the enemy.  You specialize in moving and being unpredictable.”
You nodded in agreement
“Perhaps, Nomad?” Deadlock shrugged her shoulders
“You know that sounds good.  Put Nomad as my codename please.”  You felt the name around a bit before settling into the callsign
“Hey Deadlock,”
“Yes?”
“Thank you for the name and for not letting me freeze.”
“It was no trouble at all.”

Summary: You have a crush on the new agent Iso but just can't imagine him liking you back. You try your best to avoid him but during the New Year celebration at the headquarters, confessions are made.

Wordcount: 1.1 k
A/n: So I actually had something written for Christmas but it still isn't finished so take this in the meantime. It's my first time writing for Iso and I didn't know exactly how I wanted to write him so I just tried something out sorry if it is ooc. Finished that right now real quick so some things may not exactly make sense but I hope you guys still enjoy it.
Comments, likes and reblogs are always appreciated and really motivate me to write more
Tumblr media
When Iso arrived you were unable to take your eyes off him, and the first time you talked your words got stuck in your throat. You were somehow able to play it off but Iso definitely noticed that he was the reason for your reaction.
You tried to avoid him as best as you could but somehow he would always find you. It almost felt like he was purposefully seeking you out, especially when the others commented that he seemed to not really talk to anyone else at the headquarters.
But you tried to push that fluttering feeling in the back of your head, you didn't want to read too much into the situation. You reasoned that maybe he is just not used to everyone else and finds you the most approachable. You convinced yourself that that was the reason and that if he just spent more time with the others everything would be fine.
When Jett and Neon asked you if you wanted to help with the party preparations you agreed right away. It was something that could give you an excuse not to talk with Iso while also keeping you busy.
Time flew by as you helped with the party preparations, making sure everything was perfect for the night's festivities. The thought of Iso's presence at the celebration lingered in the back of your mind, and the mere idea of spending the countdown with him in the room made your heart race.
The party was in full swing with everyone drinking, dancing, and conversing.
As the clock ticked closer to midnight you sought out a quiet corner, taking in everyone else from the sidelines. As you were lost in your thoughts someone appeared beside you, "Enjoying the party?" You could recognize Iso's smooth voice immediately, pulling you out of your thoughts.
You jumped slightly, caught off guard "O-Oh, yeah. It's great." you stammered feeling a familiar heat rising to your cheeks. As you looked up at him you took a moment to take in how the colorful lights were casting a beautiful glow across him. Before you could get too lost in your admiration he spoke up again "I'm glad." He said with a smile, for a moment it felt like the world around you disappeared, leaving only you two in this corner.
The new year now was almost around the corner and while you took a sip of your drink you could feel Iso's eyes constantly on you. Trying to break the silence you asked "Ready for the new year?" You looked into his eyes with a slight smile.
He let out a breath before a smile took over on his lips "Well, almost, there is actually one more thing that I really wanted to do this year," Iso admitted, his tone carrying a hint of anticipation. With curiosity in your eyes, you couldn't help but ask, "And what is it?"
Iso took your free hand into his, his eyes now locked onto yours. Iso's smile grew, and he took a moment before answering, "I wanted to be honest with you, to share something that's been on my mind." Your heart quickened the anticipation building. Iso's gaze remained unwavering as he continued "I've noticed the way you react when I'm around, the way your words get caught. It hasn't escaped my attention, and I can't ignore the fact that you've been trying to avoid me."
You shifted uncomfortably, unsure of how he would continue. Iso, however, tightened his grip on your hand reassuringly. "But tonight, I don't want to play it off or pretend. I want to be straightforward with you," he confessed, his voice carrying sincerity. "I've found myself drawn to you, and I can't ignore the connection that seems to spark between us. I'd like to spend more time with you, and get to know you even more."
As Iso spoke, the countdown to midnight echoed in the background, the excitement of the celebration reaching its peak. "So, what do you say?" he asked, his gaze holding a mixture of hope and vulnerability. "Would you be willing to spend the upcoming year with me, not just as a teammate but maybe as something more?" Iso's confession hung in the air, the weight of his words settling between you two. The anticipation in his eyes was palpable, and you felt a familiar tightness in your throat, much like the first time you spoke to him.
He had bared his feelings, leaving the decision in your hands. Iso's sincerity and vulnerability tugged at your heartstrings, and you took a moment, allowing the silence to linger.
A lump formed in your throat, and you found it difficult to meet Iso's gaze. The colorful lights of the New Year's Eve celebration seemed to blur, but you took a steadying breath. Iso's hand in yours provided a sense of comfort, grounding you in the moment.
"Iso," you finally spoke, your voice soft but resolute. "I… I've felt it too. The way you make my heart race and my words get stuck. I tried to avoid you because I just didn't know how to handle it."
You looked up, meeting his eyes with a shy smile. "But tonight, I don't want to play it off either. I've enjoyed every moment we've spent together, and I'd like to see where this could go. So, yes, Iso. I'd like to spend the upcoming year with you, not just as a teammate but as something more."
The countdown started, everybody loudly screaming around you but everything was drowned out when Iso took a step closer to you. He gently cupped your cheek and almost in a whisper asked "Can I kiss you?" You knew that your words completely escaped you at the moment so you just closed the gap between you two, putting your lips on his.
In the background, you could hear everyone cheering and screaming "Happy New Year!" Cheers and the sound of fireworks filled the air, but for you, time seemed to stand still leaving only the feeling of his lips upon yours.
As fireworks lit up the sky in an arrangement of beautiful colors you and Iso pulled away from each other, a shared smile on your lips. "Happy New Year" Iso whispered, his eyes holding a warmth that eased the nervousness within you.
"Happy New Year" you replied, a genuine happiness blossoming within as you realized that, perhaps, the new year held more surprises.

The iso x reader is really good! Alas, a part 3 would be great where they confess or reader's feelings get outed by either yoru or phoenix and gets teased about when reader will tell Iso but he already knows and reciprocates and just wants to hear it directly from them

The long awaited Part 3 of the Iso Saga!

Cold Shoulder
Reader x Iso
It had been a fair few months since Iso had officially joined the Protocol, and the two of you were nearly inseparable. Whenever being sent on a mission, if there was a free spot on a team, you'd always try to find excuses to bring the each other along if one was going without the other. To the point that Brimstone had to pull you each aside and gently scold you. You simply can't be on every mission together. What matters is the skillset that is put into each team, not the person specifically.
It was a tad embarrassing being called out by Brimstone like that, and overtime, it was made clear that he wasn't the only one aware of how close you two were. How you and Iso were rarely seen without the other by their side, never too far if they weren't in view. It was almost instinctual, to be nearby.
Far too soon, a few of the other agents started picking up on certain hints that went over even your head, though you saw yourself as rather... aware of how others felt about you, especially after spending however long by their side. For instance, you knew Yoru often had an ego to show off, and acted like he didn't give a shit about anybody; but he would have your back if you were in danger, without a doubt. He'd warp to your side without a second thought. No matter how many times he'd deny it, he'd claim it was a coincidence.
So you were confident that if somebody's feelings towards you changed, you'd catch it. Or, if your own feelings had changed from platonic to... something more.
Boy, were you ever wrong.
------------------
Sage had stopped by your room to visit, bringing some freshly brewed herbal tea alongside a small plate of biscuits. She'd made a habit of making sure every agent was alright mentally, providing a safe space to vent or talk about feelings without judgement. She felt quite responsible for both the physical state of everyone, as well as their mental state. To put it simply, she was acting as the Protocol's therapist. And she was damn good at it.
Opening your door, you stepped aside to allow Sage entrance to your room. She'd already alerted you of your monthly checkup that day, so you'd made sure to tidy your bedroom as best as possible. She had always given off motherly vibes, so the last thing you wanted was for her to see a messy room on one of the few times she visits.
Sitting down on the floor, Sage sets up her favourite tea set on the short table by your bed, and begins to pour two cups of herbal tea. The tea set was painted with vines and flowers, giving off some Skye vibes. Perhaps it was a gift from her?
You sit yourself across from Sage, sitting on your legs comfortably as you reach for one of the cups, perhaps adding a little sugar to the warm liquid before settling into a more... relaxed mindset.
"So." Sage had started, hands wrapped delicately around her own teacup. "I see you and Iso have been progressing very well over the last few months, mm?"
You gave a simple nod. "In combat, we triumph over our opponents with ease. We have a good system going."
"That's wonderful to hear!... although not quite what I meant." She chuckled softly to herself, a warm smile on her face contradicting the confused look you'd given her.
"You've been getting to know Iso on a more personal level, more so than anybody. Which is a little strange, admittedly. Ever since you joined the Protocol, you usually kept to yourself and didn't make many connections with other agents. So I'm very relieved to know you've found somebody in which you can rely on-"
"Hold on." You pipe up to interrupt, eyebrows knitted together in mild confusion. "What are you talking about? Yeah, I spend some time with Iso, but I wouldn't say we're on a personal level. That makes it sound like we're friends." Or more, your thoughts added, but you are swift to dismiss the thought as quickly as it arrived.
Sage took a slow sip of her drink as she let the following silence linger amongst the room, deciding to let it sink in naturally.
Her silence made something click in your head.
"We're friends."
"Mhm." Sage confirmed. "A bit more than that, perhaps. Some of us can't help but notice how rosy your cheeks get when Iso stands a little too close to you. How you two are rarely ever seen apart. And how, aside from me, He is the only one you allow in your room; your safe haven."
Your gaze slowly drops to look at the tea in your cup, seeing your reflection in the mildly rippling liquid, caused by the mild shake of your hands. You'd never really thought you had social habits, and yet... apparently they were blaringly obvious. Giving away hints to something you didn't understand yourself. "What... what does this mean?" You ask slowly, with eyes timidly flicking back up to meet Sage's calming, blue gaze. What she said next hit you like a wall of bricks.
"I believe you are in love, Y/N."
------------------
Love. Sage told you that you may be in love. It made you shudder. Far too soft of a word. How were you supposed to keep up your reputation amongst your team members? They might all see you as some... lovesick fool! You hated the thought of it. What were you meant to do now...? Well, Sage had advised you to take some time to think about what she'd said, and to get in touch with your feelings. Figure out how you really feel for Iso, and if it dips into being 'love' or not.
After all, Sage didn't know everything. She simply had her theories. Though she did coach you through some ways to self-reflect. Though it did feel somewhat pointless, you indulged her idea, and spent the next few days carefully doing some serious reflection on your feelings and interactions with Iso as of late. And the more you thought on Sage's words, the more that everything kind of... made sense.
You undeniably had feelings for Iso. The two of you working so harmoniously together, and how close you were outside of missions... the way you felt an odd, fluttering feelings in your stomach. The way your cheeks heat up when he casually rests his elbow on your shoulder... these previously unexplainable feelings, suddenly making sense. Clicking together like puzzle pieces.
Step one was complete, you supposed. You were aware of your feelings... now what? What were you meant to do with these feelings now? Surely not... expressing them to Iso?
The mere thought shot a bone-cold chill down your spine. No way were you ready to do anything of the sort.
"Just... act like normal." You coached yourself in the hallway, rubbing your face in an attempt to pull yourself together. "You like Iso, so what? That won't change anything- it shouldn't. I'm sure if you just... keep acting like normal, these ridiculous feelings will eventually go away..."
"Oh, that is rich."
The sudden voice nearly caused you to draw your pistol, if it weren't for your immediate reflex to look before shooting. What a relief, you nearly put a bullet into... the wall?
The next second, you see Yoru casually step out of his portal, removing his oni-styled mask with a faint smirk on his face.
"Yoru, what have I said about spying on me?" You scolded him with a narrowing glare, subconsciously gripping the front of your shirt. The bastard had made it a personal challenge to try and scare you when you were on your own- many times having been stopped by Iso a lot of the time. Iso's reflexes were often very helpful in catching Yoru before he had the chance to startle you. Besides, he seldom actually scared you.
"I wasn't spying about you. I was just trying to get to my room without bumping into anybody, and what happens? I find out some very interesting information..." A wide smirk grew across his face, as the realization quickly dawned on you.
"Listen, you didn't hear anything, got it?" Your voice pitched higher in a mild form of panic, which simply made Yoru's grin grow wider. "Damn. You're down bad, eh?"
Gritting your teeth, you storm closer to the man, preparing to grab him, and give him a thorough threatening- only for Yoru to warp out of your vicinity, a fair few feet away; arms crossed in a taunting way. "Phoenix is gonna get a kick 'outta this. Iso as well, I bet..." He cackled softly to himself, as he casually took a step backwards and fell into another portal, vanishing completely from the hallway.
Frozen in place, your mind had to slowly catch up to the moment of what had just happened. Yoru surely wouldn't spill such a serious secret just for the hell of it... right? Right?
You couldn't trust Yoru to keep his mouth shut. He was going to tell somebody- possibly even Iso if he felt like that much of an asshole. So, with quick steps, you ran towards the commons room, desperately in search of the masked bastard who was about to expose your most precious secret.
After searching what felt like half the headquarters building, you finally managed to find him. He was leaning against the kitchen counter casually, talking to the two people he'd threatened to tell. Phoenix; who wouldn't keep his mouth shut to keep a secret to save his life... and Iso.
By chance, Yoru happened to glance in your direction, keeping his usual smirk on his face as he kept the two men's attention on himself.
"Yeah, can you believe it? I wouldn't have figured if I hadn't been there. Y/N has always been so cold..." Yoru continued to speak as if you weren't there, only making your blood boil faster than before.
"''Ey, I wouldn't say that. They just... like to keep to themselves! Like Omen!... Probably!" Phoenix chimed in to defend you, which would've made you feel a bit better if you weren't on the verge of throwing a chair at Yoru.
"Still, you really heard them say that?" The British man raised a suspicious eyebrow towards Yoru, who simply nodded. "Why would I lie about something like this? It's hilarious."
Finally, Iso seemed to have enough. He made a point to slam down his soda bottle, with his eyes firing daggers in Yoru's direction, causing the other to stiffen ever to slightly, shoulders squared subtly in a sense of defense.
"How many times do I have to tell you, I don't care for your pointless gossip? How old are you, twelve? You truly think I would take your word as fact; especially with such a delicate subject? You truly have no shame, do you?" His voice was as cold as his gaze was, slicing through the thick, tension-filled air that had consumed the room the second the line was crossed.
Yoru struggled to find any kind of defense or escape from the conversation, his gaze quickly moving from you, back to Iso. "H... hah, as if I give a shit what you think. Don't act like you're above all this. Aren't you curious over what Y/N really thinks about you? Behind that cold exterior they put up all the time?"
"They only put it up around people they can't trust, like you. Besides, even if I were to trust your word, I'd rather hear it from Y/N themself." Iso retorted, as he plucked up his soda bottle, making his way back to his room, by the look of it. You felt yourself relax. Thank god; he didn't believe Yoru... and with that scolding Yoru got, you doubted he'd be running his mouth and telling anyone else for awhile, if he knew what was good for him.
--------------------
The next few days came and went. And you were pacing your room, twirling a knife between your fingers as you tried your best to think of how you wanted to progress with the knowledge of your feelings being... somewhat out there. Iso was aware now that it was a possibility, so... what were you meant to do now?
Sage had been there to hear you out when you needed to vent about Yoru's little 'stunt', and promised that he'd be held accountable for his gossiping behavior. All the agents were teammates, so any actions taken to potentially degrade everyone's teamwork would be dealt with and punished accordingly.
She had also assured you that there was absolutely no pressure to confess, even if Iso does know your feelings. Who knows, perhaps this was a one-time crush, and it would go away?
Well, it had already been about a week since you initially found out about these feelings, and they hadn't exactly gotten weaker. In fact, it seemed almost as if they grew stronger by each passing day you spent by Iso's side.
Sage had coached you further, to ask yourself some questions before you made any decisions that may affect you and Iso both. Take a deep breath, collect your thoughts, and ask yourself; Do you truly like Iso romantically?
Looking back on all your adventures and quiet moments with one another... how could you possibly say you didn't? Iso was somebody you felt like you could be honest with. Any chaotic feelings you might have in a single moment can be seemingly vanquished by him simply... being there. Even if you two don't talk to each other, the amount of comfort his presence alone was able to give you was something you felt like you couldn't find anywhere else. And if that wasn't an important staple in a romantic relationship... well, then maybe you were as much of a loner than Yoru had suggested.
But none of that mattered now. You felt oddly confident in your feelings, and now, knowing they were real by your own decision... it felt like you could confess to Iso. It was a bizarre experience; you'd been terrified of the idea of love and romance up until a few days ago. And now... you were actually contemplating a committed relationship with Iso? The thought still made your cheeks warm up with blush. The idea was... nice; welcomed, even.
Now it was just a matter of... figuring out how to actually confess.
--------------------
The day of confessing came a lot faster than you'd expected.
You were often the type to plan things out ahead of time. Pick a day to confess, maybe write a few scripts for yourself so you had options of what to say when the time came... and inevitably hope it would go well. And yet... though you thought you were accounting for every possibility;
When the day came, it was... unexpected, to say the least.
You and Iso were in your room, quietly doing your own things, as the two of you usually do. And yet... today it felt different. It felt like an awkward silence that wouldn't end, no matter how many times you tried to strike up a conversation. The awkward air was indestructible, it felt like.
How were you meant to start an important talk when things are like this?
"So... I heard that Yoru got in trouble with Sage the other day." Iso suddenly spoke up, which very nearly startled you off the bed; but in a firm attempt to act like everything was normal, you stayed in place. You inhaled quietly. You got this.
"Yeah..." You started awkwardly, rubbing the back of your neck, struggling to do so much as making eye contact with the other. "I... I thought I heard some arguing in the kitchen awhile back. Guess she dealt with whoever started it." Deciding to play the oblivious card, apparently. Though... did this count as lying? You weren't sure. You just hoped it wouldn't backfire on you in the long run.
"She certainly did deal with the perpetrator." He'd nodded slowly in response, his gaze moving towards you without your knowledge. "... you know, Yoru is pretty terrible at hiding when he's doing something mischievous at the cost of others. That being said; I saw you eavesdropping on us the other day." Iso couldn't hide the slight smile that grew on his face when your cheeks reddened with embarrassment. "... I mean, he kept looking in your direction and everything. It was clear someone was there."
You just wanted the ground below you to open up and swallow you whole. So lying was pointless, huh. And Iso knew you were acting off for a reason now. Shit.
"Well... whatever. It makes this whole thing easier then, I guess." You mutter dismissively, keeping your gaze away from Iso's at any cost. Though you couldn't help but be mildly curious to what Iso was looking like in that particular moment. Was he as flustered as you felt? By the knowing tone in his voice, you assumed not.
"Not quite. You know I don't listen to petty gossip." Iso responded rather dryly, raising an eyebrow at you. "And if you were there to hear what he said, then surely you know what my question is going to be."
You just wanted to flee, or hide under your bed. God, this felt humiliating... though maybe it was just because you weren't used to being so emotionally vulnerable. Every word he spoke just felt extra dangerous.
“I hardly heard the whole conversation. I kind of just… turned the corner and saw you three. Besides, you obviously know what Yoru said. Do you really need me to say anything?” You asked hesitantly, your own logic seeming to make less sense by the second; and making you dug yourself deeper into a hole.
You feel Iso place his hand gently on top of your’s. The sudden contact was finally enough to make you turn to look at him, your cheeks not any less red than they already had been. Iso gave a small, reassuring smile to you.
“Yes. Because if it’s true, I want to hear it from you, Y/N. But… only if you want to say it.”
His voice was so… comforting. Holding no judgement nor expectation. He wasn’t going to make you confess that very moment if you weren’t ready; but it was clear he knew your feelings regardless. So… what were you meant to do now? If you put it off for another day, who knows how long it’d take you to get around to confessing.
Your nervous gaze moved to look at your hands, feeling your heart rate pick up by the second. This… this was it. Now or never, you decided. Iso deserved a proper answer.
“I… I have… feelings for you. Sage believes they are… romantic feelings. And I think I agree.” You speak softly, so quietly that if the room hadn’t already been silent, he may not have heard you. You swallow the nervous lump you felt in your throat. “I… do really like you, Iso. And… I’m sorry you had to find out from Yoru first of all people…”
Before you could even think about rambling further with some inane apologies, Iso’s hand had moved to rest on your cheek before you’d realized. It all happened so fast, and yet… ever so slowly, at the same time…
Iso had slowly brought your face closer to his, pausing when you two were mere inches away from each other. He didn’t move further, wanting you to initiate further if this was something you wanted. He truly wasn’t the type to force anything onto anyone…
It admittedly took you a few seconds to realize what he was waiting for… a… a kiss? The thought seemed overwhelming at first- you’d just confessed, and now he was offering to kiss you? Was that his way of saying he felt the same?
Your heart had never beat as fast as it did in that moment. Sure, you were new to the whole… romantic-feelings thing… and by all accounts, you’d probably reject the offer in any other situation… and yet…
In those few lingering moments, with his lips so close to your’s… you couldn’t turn away. Taking all the courage you had within you, you leant forward and gently pressed your lips to Iso’s; though it was a little awkward at first, with your lack of experience.
The kiss merely lasted a few seconds before you’d pulled back, face feeling as red as a cherry. You found it hard to make direct eye contact with Iso for a few moments, before you heard him chuckle slightly.
“For someone who used to be so intimidating… you sure are adorable whenever you’re embarrassed.” He’d hummed innocently. You shot a glare in his direction and punched his arm relatively hard, earning a more genuine laugh from the man.
“I’m sorry- it’s true!” Iso snickered softly as he scooted a bit closer to you, keeping your hands intertwined ever so gently. You’d barely noticed you two had been holding hands for a short while already. “So… was my answer sufficient enough for you, Y/N?” He raised an eyebrow curiously to you, giving you a moment to pause and think.
“Mm… No. I don’t think your answer was clear enough.” You responded, rather deadpan. This gave Iso a genuine feeling of confusion, as you turned towards him, grabbing the collar of his shirt to pull him closer, your face still rather red.
“Perhaps you should give me your answer again… and again.”
The two of you spent the remainder of the evening in each other’s company.
Sage may have had to heal a bruised lip or two the following morning.

If anyone wanted some Iso Headcannons...
Or not. Here it is anyways. Hope you guys like it.
Warning; None. Only Iso in love.
Tumblr media
Iso when he cares about someone(you).
He would be the kind of guy to watch you from afar and make sure that everything is fine. You seem hungry? Don't worry you will find one of your snacks near by just as you realize you should probably eat something. Or you're feeling a bit sick? You will find some coughing pills or orange juice near around you.
If you guys end up on a mission together, he will always be looking out for you even from afar, sometimes saving you from getting shot. And sometimes you save this poor man that is so overly focused on keeping you safe that he didn't hear an enemy approach him to backstab. Which is something you never, ever see happening to Iso normally.
With him listening to so many songs, he definitely has either a playlist or one specific song dedicated to you. When it plays during a mission, he gets even more motivated and focused, he's at his best, you give him motivation to finish this asap so he can see you as quickly as possible.
Even though he isn't the most talkative person, when around you he will try to start small talks or something. He just wants to be near you and hear your sweet voice. If you approach him first, it makes his heart beat faster and he internally melts like how can you be so sweet especially to someone like him? He's just weak for your attention.
If you get hurt during a mission, he will wait till the end and approach you with some medkit he has, using some excuse to not look like he cares too much but be able to take care of your wound.
When he learns that you can speak some Mandarin (please stick with it), even if it's only elementary level, he will love you so much more and be interally ecstatic about it, having little butterflies in his stomach from knowing you know and are interested in his mother tongue. At any opportunity given he will try to teach you a word or two or something, especially if you ever ask him to.
He's not one used to feeling all kind of emotions of course, so when he first started liking you, he didn't know how to react and would try to be further away from you because he didn't know how to handle it. So when he stopped avoiding you, you were relieved because you thought you might have done something to insult him. Which is totally the opposite, he just didn't know what do to with himself and his heart beating faster everytime he saw or was near you....Not that it changed, he just got kind of used to it and knows how to hide it now.
If you guys are on your "days off" and you two end up being alone, with him it will either be chilling together while listening to music or going to a bobba store and drink it over there or back home if you two do not feel like being in public. I mean technically its more you, since Iso prefers to be alone than in public but for you he will do it.
He would also be the kind of person to when he's snacking, ask you if you want any...But if anyone else says they want some he will just stare at them and not want to give it. He will end up giving it if you suggest it, but he won't want to share it with other people than you...Especially if its Yoru, Jett or Pheonix that asks since they usually steal other's food just like that. He does not like the disrespect.
He wouldn't be the one to worry or show any emotions, but if you ever went on a mission without him and you guys were coming back late, or simply back with you in a critical state. His eyes would water and he might even silently cry as he stays by your side and tries to make you feel better asap if you got back hurt.
If you simply arrived late, he would swallow and take a deep breath to calm his heart down and check on you for any wounds. Asking about the mission only after making sure you're fine.
Also. Whenever you're in a mission with him, he will always try to be as badass as possible and get as most kills as possible to try and impress you. If he ever misses a shot and you saw it, he internally dies and will hide his flushed face in his jacket as he tries to act like you are not here.
In all honesty, if you bring him some snack or a bobba tea, his eyes will have a small sparkle to them as he will take it and thank you politely. Although inside he is so happy. He might cherish it a bit longer, like he usually drinks his bobba tea really quickly but will make sure to enjoy that one. That or if its a snack, he will eat some then keep the rest for later, looking at it in his dorm like it was some kind of treasure.
This of course, will get him fighting to protect the snack from the food stealers agents. Ahem.
If the agents ever made chatrooms, Iso will always glance at his phone when he gets a notification hoping that it is you, sighing when it is not, and quickly opening the chat when it is.
If you two normally texts in dms, he would be the kind to wait for your answers till he ends up falling asleep waiting for it...If you were training or busy.
100% more of a text kind of guy, but when/if you ever get with him, he will love to get calls from you. And sometimes he will even call you if he misses you. He can't get enough of your voice, his favorite sound, yes, more than his music.
He might also call or text you even when you both are in the same room. Either texting, asking if you two wanted to go somwhere else if there were people, or simply to get your attention if you were talking enthusiastically with Killjoy, Jett or Gekko and kind of “ignoring” him.
He lowkey wants your attention, all of it.
Of course, since he's not much of a man of words, he makes up for it in actions and spoiling you in his own little ways (snacks, drinks, matching clothes).

Tumblr media
Characters: Li Zhao "Iso" Yu Type: Fluff, Oneshot, Gn!reader, Normal AU??? like the vp and all that doesn't exist
did I name the bakery after a mlp character? Yes. Yes I did.
Warning: none
Tumblr media
Being an idol wasn't as glorious as people made it seem. There were so many factors that lots of people wouldn't be able to handle. There was paparazzi, demanding managers, and crazy fans who sometimes forget their favs are human too.
Needless to say, Li was exhausted after his last tour. He had spent around 4 weeks performing under his stage name Iso, bouncing around countries that we're far from home. But now, he was finally able to relax.
He decided to spend his time off back at his hometown, visiting family and old friends. Iso's birthplace was relatively small compared to the big cities he's grown used to, meaning it was much safer to go out without some disguise. He walked through the market place, looking at all the familiar shops and reminiscing of his younger years.
There were a few street vendors, a convenience store and... wait a minute.
Huh, that place must be new.
Iso stopped, looking up at the sign that read "Sunset Shimmer Bakery" in fancy writing.
I guess I'll give it a try.
Iso entered the bakery and was immediately struck by the scent of freshly baked pastries. He looked around, taking in the warm and cozy atmosphere. There were warm toned lights strung along the ceiling, which gave a much gentler feel compared to bright florescents. The air around him was warm and there were tables with soft cushioned chairs in sort of a gold-yellow hue.
You perked up at the sound of a customer entering and made your way towards the counter from the kitchen.
"Hello, and welcome to Sunset Shimmer Bakery. Are you ready to get an order started or do you need a moment?"
Iso looked up at the source of the voice and his pupils dilatated. In front of them was the most beautiful person he had ever seen, despite being in a flour covered apron.
"I uh- one minute please."
"Alright, I'll be over here when you're ready."
The man stood staring for a moment as you returned to what you had been doing before. Snapping out of his trance, he took some time to assess the sweets in the display case in front of him. There was a plethora of pastries and other sweets, ranging from mini cheesecakes and muffins to more Chinese snacks like custard buns and jiandui (sesame balls).
After a few moments more, he looked up to see you had finished your task and were now waiting on him.
"Are you ready to order?" You asked with a sweet smile. You were just doing your job but god Iso couldn't help but to think you were adorable.
"Yeah, I think I'll take one of those," he said, pointing into the display case."
Somehow, your face seemed to light up even more as you went to open up the case.
"This one is one of my favorites! I like to call it Star-berry Shortcake!"
The pastry was a single serving sized strawberry shortcake, with a tiny bit of gold powder sprinkled over the top with some star sprinkles decorating the top.
You packed up a slice in a box for him before sticking something to the top of it and putting it in a small bag. The man got out his wallet, ready for you to tell him his total before looking up and seeing you holding the bag out to him.
"This one's on the house!"
He was quick to argue, being more than willing to pay you but you just smiled and shook your head with an "I insist".
Iso sighed, taking the bag and then thanking you. He begins to head towards the door before stopping in his tracks and turning back to you.
"By the way...what's your name?"
You let out a soft and angelic laugh before answering "It's Y/n."
The idol nodded before bidding you goodbye once again, making his way back home. Once there, he sat down and pulled his sweet treat out of the bag before reading the note you had stuck to the top.
"I never thought such a big star would walk into my little bakery. Thank you for the visit, Iso <3"
Iso smiles at the note and the little heart you drew in the corner. Setting it aside, he began to eat the cake he just bought- was given. The cake was delicious and seemed to be just as sweet as you had been.
He would have to visit your shop again. If not for the baked goods, then it would be for the cute owner that has piqued his interest.

here’s some iso crumbs in my brain. i wanna write a one-shot for this but… my ideas are still all over the place… (x_x)
Tumblr media
iso is probably the guy who gives the COMFIEST hugs ever ! likeeee have u seen him ? he’s just a huge teddy bear, your sweet huge teddy bear :]
and i was thinking of how he deals with an overworking!reader…
he knocked your office door, his head peeking inside as his eyes immediately caught your tensed figure working at your desk.
“hey babe, i think you’re done for today—”
“not yet…”
he sighed, not surprised with your stubborn behaviour. he immediately gathered all the documents scattered on your desk, ignoring the way your tired eyes glanced at him.
his thumbs reached for your puffy eyes, giving soft rubs as comfort.
“come on, it’s time for bed…” he said, as he picked you up and gave you a kiss on top of your head. you gave in to his warmth, drowsiness slowly taking control of your body.
“m’ tired…”
“i know, baby,” he took a pause to plant a soft kiss on your forehead, “and i’m proud of you.”
oh and… he would give you one of his hoodies / jackets for you to sleep in.
iso loves seeing you cuddled in his own clothes, his heart warmed up with the fact that you find comfort with his belongings.
the sight of you wearing his jacket (that looked too big on you) while chilling on his bed as you devoured the snacks he always have in his room, is something iso would kill for.
you’re just a little angel in his eyes, an angel he swore to protect.

One Hazy Winter [Iso x F! Reader] [1]
[ Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 ]
Genre: Angst, fluff ‎
TW: Depression and implied suicidal thoughts (I swear it’s not all sad haha) ‎ ‎
Words: 4k ‎
Synopsis: One winter before his disappearance, you told your boyfriend Yu about a question you’ve had for so long; one even he could hardly respond to. It took many more hopeless winters for you to finally have your answer. ‎ ‎
NOTES: 'Tis the season! Ha, I rushed to get this out before Christmas was over. Christmas is still going, right? Happy holidays!! ‎  Anyway, this story is HEAVILY reliant on flashbacks and the past in general, so keep that in mind. Have a good read! ‎ ‎
。+❤ฺ·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ· +❤·。❤ฺ·。+❤ฺ·
Winter, one year ago.
 ‎
If there was one thing you loathed with every inch of your being, it would be the winter season. It was a season that was associated with only despair and heavily encouraged death. Both physically and mentally. The death of plants, the death of animals, the death of people, just death in general.
And you hated it. You hated the overwhelming feeling of melancholy that would loom over you whenever snow would fall.
Your arms rested on the ice cold metal railing that overlooked a mystifying lake, one that had gotten frozen over the past week. The thick sleeves of your hoodie blocked the freezing temperatures like dutiful guards surrounding a castle. This comfort, however, felt like a miniscule droplet in the ocean of despondency you felt.
A tired sigh escaped you. And like a furious dragon, a vapour of pure white billowed from your lips.
 ‎
“Disgusting.”
 ‎
You muttered under your breath whilst you looked at the ice. In the distance, you heard something crack, and it took you only a few seconds to spot where it was on the icy surface of the lake.
 ‎
“Look on the bright side, at least.”
 ‎
Yu, your boyfriend, piped up from your right. He rested on the railing just as you did, with his jacket protecting him. But his upright posture and bright purple eyes conveyed something you didn’t: joy.
 ‎
“Like what?”
 ‎
“Look around you, observe the snow.”
 ‎
He pointed to the blankets of snow that surrounded the forest around the bridge, each snowflake collectively gathered to envelop every tree your eyes laid on. Like a mother huddled with her children on a cold night. To him, the landscape looked like a stunning painting, one meticulously slaved over by an artist who desired perfection over all else.
 ‎
“Isn’t it breathtaking?”
 ‎
Maybe to him. But to you? All you saw were dead trees, shells of the beautiful bearers of fruit and life they once were. That wasn’t to mention the corpses of animals buried under the feet of snow he was so enamoured by.
You rested your head on your arms in silence.
 ‎
“It’s winter.”
 ‎
Two words. Curt, but enough to summarise the maelstrom of thoughts that roamed your mind.
And it’s not like he didn’t know, either. He did, which was why, despite his optimism, he also started dreading this season once you both started dating nearly five winters ago. Yu placed one hand on your shoulder, the wooden planks under him loudly creaking as he stepped closer to you. Then, he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you closer, the warmth from his body counteracting the one from the railings.
 ‎
“I understand.”
 ‎
For a moment, that was all he could say.
 ‎
“But… Y/N, you shouldn’t think about them every single day.”
 ‎
You shut your eyes and took in a deep, slow breath, allowing the cold air to be warmed on the way to your lungs.
As much as he denied it, and as stiff as his face was, Yu was incredibly expressive. Whenever he’d try to conceal how he felt, his body language simply betrayed him at every turn. He meant well, both of you knew that. Especially you. But Yu wasn’t exactly the best when it came to dealing with things like… this.
 ‎
“It’s difficult to get over them, Yu. It feels impossible.”
 ‎
Since Yu’s hands were gloved the whole way here, the slightly cold temperature of it didn’t bother you as much once his fingers intertwined with yours. Add on to the fact your hands were in your pockets, the warmth immediately cooled him down as he began gently outlining the lines on your palm with his thumb.
You lost your parents in one hazy winter. And every one after that would be a depressing reminder of that fact.
 ‎
“Every winter, I ask myself why I should keep going.”
 ‎
He paused.
 ‎
“What’s waiting for us at the end? Some silly award for putting up with this?”
 ‎
“Don’t say that. There’s more to life than baseless questions like that.”
 ‎
The white tint of the snow was bright. So bright, it began piercing your eyes, and you were forced to close them for a hint of relief.
  ‎
“What do you think?”
 ‎
You flipped the question on him, your words cutting through his benevolence like acid through a rotting cadaver.
Silence settled for a moment. Between it and the blankets of snow that surrounded you, you could hear Yu’s very pulse echo with each passing second. That, and how his lips parted. But for a moment, no words left his mouth, and he stayed quiet.
 ‎
“I… I don’t know.” He turned away. “I’m sorry. I don’t think about things like this.”
 ‎
It figures, you thought. Nevertheless, he began outlining the lines on your palm all over again, and the sound of the shuffling in your pocket as he did this started to stick out to you.
A few rapid clicks caught your attention. And once you lifted your head, you noticed a peculiar sight.
A bird had landed on the lake’s icy surface. Though it was a few dozen feet away from you, somehow, It felt as if all the sound waves were channelled in one direction just to reach you, and you could see it with clarity that would rival a telescope. With each step, you heard a loud click. And each time it pecked at the ice under it, you heard a little pick that accompanied it.
You wanted to ask why there was a bird here. Around this time, they’d usually disappear and leave the grey sky more dreary and lifeless than it ever could be. So… why?
You diligently watched it stretch its stunning wings, shades of blue reflecting off of the sunlight and complementing each other. Somehow, it spawned various new shades on its wings. Like ballet dancers, the colours played off each other's movements gracefully.
You lifted a hand and pointed at the bird.
 ‎
“It looks just like you.”
 ‎
Yu stopped to get a glance at what you were looking at. Then, he chuckled.
 ‎
“You think every bird looks like me, Y/N.”
 ‎
“I...”
 ‎
Your words were interrupted once the bird’s feathers reached outwards. For a moment, it puffed and formed a fluffy ball of white, blue and black, before it rapidly shook its head and relaxed all over again.
 ‎
“There. Did you see that?”
 ‎
“See what?”
 ‎
“It puffed up.” You met his gaze. “It looked just like you whenever you’d wake up.”
 ‎
Even on the hottest days of summer, Yu would have at least three blankets wrapped around him whilst he slept. That wasn’t to mention how messy his hair would be whenever you had the pleasure of catching him in this way. Yu grinned, pulling you closer as you both watched the bird for a few seconds.
A few short-lived seconds, until it flew away and disappeared into the clouds, cutting the enjoyable moment short.
But before melancholy would dare set in once more, Yu immediately turned to meet your gaze, his purple eyes glimmering under the bright winter sky. Just like the bird’s wings, the colours mixed with each other in a captivating manner.
 ‎
“How about we go home and watch a movie? I’ll even make you hot chocolate. What do you say?”
 ‎
“Movie?”
 ‎
A moment of silence settled.
But just as Yu thought he failed in his endeavour to cheer you up, all of his doubts evaporate once he saw a smile form. The sensation of such a move, though weak, still felt foreign to your face.
 ‎
“Can we take the movie out of the equation?”
 ‎
 ‎
“Definitely.”
‎
Before another word could be uttered, he suddenly pulled you much closer, trapping you in a warm embrace. And you couldn’t help but grin at such an unexpected yet sweet move.
‎
“Yu, we’re in public.”
‎
“You don’t know how much I missed your smile, Y/N.”
‎
“Be reasonable. It couldn’t have been that long.”
‎
You said, your words muffled as he had your face pressed up against the inside of his jacket. Your arms were wrapped around him to allow the heat to pass on over to you.
‎
“It has.” He muttered. “Longer than you think.”
‎
The pleasant fragrance of lemons entered your nostrils. Familiar, especially since it was the only type of musk Yu ever sought after. Other than yours, of course.
‎
❤ฺ·。
Winter, present day.
‎
You hadn’t seen or spoken to Yu once the week after that conversation. He didn’t answer his phone, and, like you, none of his acquaintances knew where he went. Even with the police alerted, he was still legally considered missing.
On your way to work that dreadful morning, you’ve had your eyes stuck on your phone the whole time you walked down that repetitive path. You were calling Yu for the umpteenth time in hopes that he’d miraculously answer. But just as expected, your call was sent to voicemail again.
He was gone.
And you didn’t shed a tear. Not that you didn’t care, quite the contrary, in fact. You lost a ton of people. He was just another added to the list.
With a deep sigh, you pocketed your phone and looked up at the sky, a group of clouds concealing its previously blue colour thanks to the season. White and pale, just like bones.
‎
Your fingers wrapped around the cold golden handle. And with one swift push accompanied by a cheerful ding of the bell above you, you’d entered the café you worked at. The warmth hit you like a slap in the face once you’d fully entered the café. The boring music inside, and not to mention the decor you were borderline sick of seeing every day.
Your boss, Ying, and another one of your co-workers were chatting behind the counter. But your entrance immediately halted the conversation and shifted their attention towards you.
‎
“There you are! I was getting worried.”
‎
“Hi.”
‎
Ying earned a boring greeting from you. Just like every other day. And just as you turned back to the counter, you were suddenly pulled into a tight hug.
‎
“Y/N, how have you been? Here– would you like me to make you something?”
‎
She pulled away and held your shoulders in hopes of catching a change in your expression this time, but there was naught.
Ying, despite being your boss, had been treating you like her daughter for the longest time. And with Yu’s disappearance, her treatment was laced with worry and an overwhelming desire to tend to your needs. But every time, she’d earn the same response accompanied by the same vacant look on your face.
‎
“I’d like to clock in.”
‎
“Would you like to take the day off instead? Take a moment to catch yourself?”
‎
Though you had no circles under your eyes or any other noticeable blotches, she still noted the subtle gaunt look on your face. Pale, lifeless skin, and that wasn’t to mention the dull heaviness in your pitch black irises. A massive contrast to Yu, whose very presence brought life to any location lucky enough to bear his presence.
You shook your head.
A sigh escaped her and her gaze turned to the ground for a moment. Then, an idea popped up.
‎
“How about some passion fruit juice? We still have some in stock from yesterday.”
‎
Ying said with that kind smile as she looked back up at you. It almost widened to a full-blown grin once your lids slightly lifted at this random offer. Passion fruit was your favourite. And she remembered, even though you mentioned it offhandedly many winters ago.
You still shook your head.
‎
“I’m not too fond of the artificial flavour.” You held her wrists and put her hands down. “Thank you, nonetheless.”
‎
It took you only two seconds to walk away from Ying’s benevolent aura and move behind the counter where the sickening one lay. The very creaks of the floorboards and the ticking of the machines churned your stomach.
‎ ‎
“I’m leaving. You need any help in here?”
‎
Your co-worker exclaimed, earning the same response you gave Ying twice. And with that, he immediately tossed the towel on the counter and walked out, leaving your boss in the awkward position of asking the same question.
‎
“Y/N?”
‎
“I’ll be okay.”
‎
Juxtaposed to the loud slam emitted from the door once your co-worker left, as if to announce his departure, for Ying, it was a gentle woosh of the wind, followed by a click once she’d closed the wooden door. You didn’t even realise she left until you lazily glanced at the exit for a moment, then turned to the task at hand.
‎
You grabbed the towel and began wiping the counters. The hum of the refrigerators around you remained as the only thing that broke the heavy silence that encapsulated the small café.
Everyday was the same routine. Wake up, go to work, go home and wait for sleep. At this point, the only thing amiss today was Ying’s offer to make you passion fruit juice. A delightful offer, but the juice here was artificial sugar. If anyone would know that, it was you.
You jumped once you felt a hand on your shoulder, looking over to see Ying.
‎
“Oh, Ying, I– I assumed you left.”
‎
“No, I merely closed the door.”
‎
Your pupils dilated as you took in her soft features once more. But before you could allow this conversation to blossom, you turned away and continued wiping the counters.
‎
“Y/N, are you okay?”
‎
“What makes you think otherwise?”
‎
“Every day, you look more and more like a zombie. I… I cannot help but worry every second you’re not with me.”
‎
With a loud clunk, you set down one of the cups on the marble counter and stared at the wet towel in your hand, its temperature combining with the one around you to freeze your bare hand. But that didn’t matter to you. There was only one thing that caught your eye; its colour.
Purple.
A deep sigh escaped you, but you didn’t dare lift your chin to look at your boss.
‎
“When are we opening?”
‎
Ying held herself and watched you continue working.
‎
“Please, just speak to me. I fear the day you won’t walk through that door, and I feel as though it’s coming very soon.”
‎
“Enough with the fear mongering. I just don’t want to talk, okay? I don’t even want to look at you.”
‎
She opened her mouth, but the words were lodged in her throat. Clearly, though those words escaped you without second thought, Ying was still taken by surprise.
You needed to act fast.
‎
“Everything reminds me of them, Ying. And you remind me of him now. More than ever.”
‎
“I… I understand. What you’re going through is horrible, nobody deserves to experience anything like this. But, Y/N, please,” she cupped your cheeks in her hands, “I don’t want to lose you, too.”
‎
You were forced to look up at the tall woman to even meet her gaze. And that, you hated. You hated how her features somewhat matched Yu’s. The more you scrutinised her, the more similarities you found. Their nose, lips, their height, and the way their silky black hair framed their face. Hell, even their soft voices matched.
‎
“You haven’t eaten breakfast today, have you?”
‎
Her amiable voice suddenly took on an incredibly stern tone, one alien to someone like her. And to say you were caught off-guard would be a massive understatement.
‎
“Pardon?”
‎
“You’re pale. Your blood pressure is low.”
‎
“Pressure…?”
‎
You watched Ying immediately pull away and rush towards the fridge, a gust of cold air hitting you like a whip. On another note, it was winter. Why the hell was the fridge still on?
‎
“Ah, I meant sugar, Your blood sugar. We need to get you something to drink!”
‎
You eyed the passion fruit juice she took out of the fridge, golden fluid swirling inside in a hypnotising manner. And with a slam of the fridge’s door, its movements grew more rapid and dramatic. Then, you met her gaze with a vacant expression.
‎
“Ying, I’m fine.”
‎
"For the love of God, please accept some help and get your sugar back up. Just this once, at least!"
‎
She desperately held out the juice for you. And, although you were incredibly reluctant, you gave in and grabbed it from her.
‎
“Fine, but if I’m going to drink juice, I might as well make it myself.”
‎
Ying’s eyes bore into yours whilst you twisted the green plastic cap. Then, a particularly contagious smile lifted her pink lips. That statement must’ve evoked something within her.
‎
“Do you still remember how?”
‎
“What? Of course I do–”
‎
“Wonderful! Then I’ll take out everything you need.”
‎
She lit up and trotted over to a nearby counter, her large black ponytail swaying with each step. Ying immediately bent down and took out a few dusty slick grey boxes from inside, but your eyes were only focused on the dust that fell to the ground with every box she took out.
A mess you’d have to mop up.
Nevertheless, you took a sip and immediately grimaced at the unnatural flavour.
‎
“I bought a container of passion fruit yesterday, but I was afraid you’d be offended had I asked you to make some again.”
‎
"Why would I be offended by that?"
‎
With a huff and a loud thud, she slid out the blender’s box onto the ground. Then, she fixed her posture and grabbed it on both sides, ready to lift it.
‎
“I did not wish to pressure you into making this again. I understand your circumstances, however…” she lifted the box and set it on the counter, meeting your gaze with a smile, “your products are very addictive!”
‎
You took another sip in silence and set the drink next to the cash register, before moving to the fridge to take out the container of passion fruit.
‎
“Do you need any help with those?”
‎
You shook your head and took out a spoon and a bowl. It didn’t take long for her to catch on to what you were trying to do, clasping her hands together nervously.
‎
“Are you going to wash and scoop all those seeds? Alone?”
‎
“Are there people outside?”
‎
She glanced at the wooden double doors. If the massive windows on the walls weren’t enough, the doors allowed an even wider view of the sidewalk outside. Thankfully, the snow didn’t obscure much of her vision, either.
‎
“Ah… No, not quite. This morning is as idle as the others.”
‎
“Then I’ll do it.”
‎
She smiled and nodded.
‎
“I admire your patience.”
‎
That was all she said before she turned to unbox the blender. Thankfully, she let the silence in the air settle and allowed you to work alone. At this point, the conversation already grew exhausting enough. You couldn’t be bothered to say another word.
‎
❤ฺ·。
‎
Winter, three years ago.
‎
At first, it started out a chivalrous act.
One day, Yu, your co-worker at the time, randomly offered to escort you to and back from work with a peculiarly red set of cheeks. You said yes. Not that you needed the protection. And quite frankly, looking back, it was clearly a thin veiled attempt for him to get close to you; but you still entertained the offer and walked with him. It quickly became a day to day thing.
First, you’d see him by the gates every morning and head to the café.
Afterwards, once you both went back, you’d part ways at said gate. He’d go to the bus to return to his house, and you’d go up to your apartment. But after you started dating, he started sleeping over. Then, he began spending more time in your cramped home instead of his lavish abode.
Then… Well, to say he simply ‘took over’ would be an understatement.
‎
Once the both of you had arrived at the entrance that would lead to your dwelling, you took off the earbud and handed it back to Yu, promptly pushing the thick door to your apartment open. Back then, whenever you’d enter, the gust of air that enfolded you used to have a… melancholic feel to it.
Now, it was anything but.
‎
“Every day you visit, this place looks less and less like the house I live in.”
‎
You randomly commented, not bothering to glance at him as you spoke. An audible creak echoed through the small area. Then, with a loud flick, the lights switched open and allowed the comfort of familiarity to finally envelope each of you.
‎
“How do you mean?”
‎
“Look around. Look at what you’ve done to my home.”
‎
You haphazardly gestured around you whilst turning on more lights. And it was only after a moment of confused silence did he finally respond to your comment.
‎
“I’m not following.”
‎
You turned around, and both of your eyes bore into each others’. Judging by the blank expression he carried, he truly looked lost. So… you’d show him.
You held his hand and guided him down the entrance hall towards the living room, and pointed at the couch that faced the television mounted on the wall. Just looking at it proved your point, seeing how it was covered with blankets.
‎
“Two blankets,” you then pointed at the armchair on the corner where another one sat, “three,” the other armchair, “four,” the heaters, “and five.”
‎
You turned to face him with crossed arms.
‎
“And the three on my bed.”
‎
By the time you finished pointing everything out, both of you had stopped at the doorway that led to the corridor. He knew by the way you pursed your lips; you definitely weren’t done yet.
You took a deep inhale, finally taking in the air that lingered around you like a lovesick ex.
‎
“It smells like the inside of a lemon, as well.”
‎
Yu smiled politely once you had finalised your sentiment. Sure, your tone was dry, but he wasn’t insulted. In fact, judging by his upright posture, he seemed quite proud of how he unwittingly changed up the place.
‎
“I... hear you. On another note, it's been three years and I still haven’t gotten to the balcony yet.”
You raised an eyebrow. He just couldn’t be subtle even if his life depended on it.
‎
“I’m not giving you the keys to the balcony, Yu.”
‎
“Just a peek?”
‎
You turned away and began taking off the heavy jacket you wore, earning a particularly endearing huff from him. The shadows on the ground let you know he crossed his arms and turned his gaze away to the living room. Probably eyeing the blankets on the couch you pointed out just a few minutes ago.
He muttered something under his breath. But before you could ask him what it was, he immediately moved over to the couch. Huh. Your hypothesis was correct.
‎
Not paying him any mind, you began slipping off your boots and taking off the hair tie that started to give you a headache.
Then, your eyes widened once you heard a distant spray. You immediately turned around.
“Yu, we don’t need anymore–”
‎
The words were lodged in your throat once you realised he wasn’t spraying the room with his lemon mister again. He wasn’t doing that at all, no. Instead, he was misting the potted plant set in the corner of the living room. Holes lay in the edges of its dull leaves. And thanks to the weak sunlight that bled through the windows, you could see that the soil was dangerously dry, as well.
You stepped up solemnly, watching him mist it.
‎
“How long has it been since you last watered this?”
‎
Judging by the curious tone, you knew that he wasn’t mocking you. He just wasn’t as knowledgeable as you were when it came to plants. You nervously clenched your fists and turned your gaze away, eyes landing on the dark vinyl flooring.
‎
“I… must have forgotten about it.”
‎
Of course you did. It was a miracle you even slipped out of bed every morning, let alone take care of something like this.
A gentle pat on your shoulder snapped you out of your maelstrom of thoughts, and you hesitantly looked up to meet his gentle gaze.
“That’s okay. You were busy.” He chuckled. “It’s probably why the smell of lemons is so strong, right?”
‎
You playfully flicked his forehead with a vacant expression, before grabbing the mister from his hands and aiming it at the plant. That’s one incentive for you to take care of the plant, that’s for sure. Oh, but you’d never tell him that.
Nevertheless, you continued misting. And spraying water on it felt so… weird.
But also relieving.

On His Camera Roll
Pairing: Iso x Reader

Word count: 0.7k
A/N: He's my little meow meow and I love him and want to hold him.
Tumblr media
The camera of Iso's phone flashed again just out of the corner of your eye. This was the fifth time today that you'd noticed it. The phone would flash, he'd smirk and lean back, typing something on his phone without meeting your eyes. When it happened the sixth time you wanted answers.
You pushed away from your desk and dove right for his phone which he pulled out of your reach, "Hey! What do you think you're doing?!" He pushed you away, his hand on your face and his foot against your chest to make it more effective.
As you climbed on top of him and straddled his hips you still tried to make a grab for the phone, "Let me see what you're been doing. I see you sneaking pictures of me. You perv." Iso looked at you with his eyebrows raised, "If you want pictures of me you could just ask me to pose for you."
Iso looked away and pulled the phone to his chest, a little frown on his lips. "It's not what you think." You tilted your head skeptically but waited for him to explain. "I was looking though my phone and I realized I don't have any pictures set for when the other Agents call, or one of you."
That was all? That seemed a little... way too wholesome for Iso. He was cute a lot but it was always more on the teasing side. Taking pictures for contact info was cute too, but the way he went about it still baffled you.
"Have you been doing this to everyone? Oh my god is that Viper looked like she was gonna kill you?" The memory of her glare was enough to make Iso shiver. "You could have asked us to send you a photo, or again, to pose for you."
"No, it's better when it's more natural. Especially you when you're looking over the mission information. You get this cute nose scrunch when you're deep in thought. Makes me want to kiss you." He cupped your face with one hand, while still having a firm grip on his phone with the other.
It was hard not to feel warm when he looked at you with that cheeky smile of his. "S-Still! At least let me pick the photo you use!"
"Hm... I can but what will you give me in return?" He wiggled his eyebrows and placed the phone beside his head, "Maybe a little kiss?"
There was nothing Iso wouldn't do for a kiss from you. Most usually came of the heels of him teasing you so you had to shut him up. There was just no other way to do it. Especially if the two of you were in his Dimension where you could have a little more privacy. But for just a kiss his room would do.
Iso cupped your face and ran his thumb over your chin as you approached, his lips parting in the way it made you want to bit them. Somehow they always looked so soft, softer then yours which you found to be quite unfair if you were honest.
As you eased into the kiss there was another quick camera flash, "I think I just got the perfect photo." He stuck his tongue out and showed you the photo he took of your kiss.
"You're not gonna put that as the photo!" You tried to grab his phone again but to no avail, "Li!" He laughed as he wrapped his arm around you and flipped you both over. "Give me that." Finally you got ahold of his phone and flipped through the pictures he took, "You... took all of these?" Iso nodded, "They're actually really nice. But I'm still not letting you put the kiss picture as the contact one. How about this one?"
You showed him one where you were in the middle of laughing at one of his jokes. It was better than the one of him kissing you.
"This one? It is one of my favorites of you." He respected your wishes of course but the next time you saw his phone the picture of the two of you kissing was his lockscreen. God damn it.

Tumblr media
Your nail cracks when you sink your teeth into your fingertip too hard. You rip your hand away from your mouth, shaking it around in the cold air to soothe the throbbing nail bed as you continue to pace around HQ. Your fingers are replaced by your bottom lip, your teeth desperate to sink into something, anything, to keep you grounded while you wait for the men to return.
It’s a near 10 hour flight from Indonesia back to HQ, and while Brimstone had told you to get some rest, you couldn’t fathom it. An overwhelming feeling that something was wrong had been hanging over your head the entire evening, and no matter what you did, you couldn’t shake it.
Omen is anxious the entire flight back from Jakarta. His heart hammers against his ribcage and the flood of blurry memories is endless. All he can think of is how he’s going to confront Viper, what answers he’s going to beg her for.
When they land back at HQ, it’s the middle of the night. Even after Sova, Iso and Cypher exit the dropship, Omen remains in his seat. Exhaustion radiates through him, shockwaves of pain from the machine he’d been forced in earlier still roll over his body.
You start to worry when only three men return from the hangar. Cypher and Iso are in good spirits, but there’s a sour look clouding Sova’s face. While the others return to their respective rooms, Sasha flops on the couch in front of you, his presence managing to stop your incessant pacing.
He waits until everyone is out of earshot before speaking. “Something happened,” he keeps his voice low, “with Omen.”
“Is he okay?”
“We had a close call, he’s still in one piece.” The archer sighs, “he didn’t speak to us about it, but his memories…he remembers something.”
You flinch. It was selfish, but you’d always feared the day Omen’s memory would return. Dreaded it, even. The man was never clear on the nature of your relationship, never clear on what he felt for you. You’d grant each other comfort when it was needed, and on some nights, much more than that. There was never a definition there, though, never any certainty.
Your feelings for him only grew with time but Omen remained as stoic as always. His lack of commitment left you painfully awaiting the day his memories would come back, when he’d remember he had a wife and kids, or some pretty supermodel girlfriend you could never compete with. You wanted to, but no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t pull away.
Sova rises to his feet, squeezing your shoulder in reassurance. “You should rest.”
You swallow and nod, waving him off as he retracts into the dark halls. You don’t rest, though. You plant yourself on the couch and continue to wait, your thoughts running laps around your mind. It’s nearly four in the morning before you hear the hangar door open and soft footsteps approach from down the hall.
You clench your hands tightly, nails digging into your palm. You’re not ready for this, you’ll never be ready for this. A part of you is tempted to retreat to your room, but then Omen is rounding the corner and you know it’s too late.
“Y/n?” He looks surprised to see you, “what are you doing awake?”
You force yourself to your feet, walking around the couch to face him. “I was waiting for you,” you say quietly.
Omen isn’t quite sure what to say to that—he’s never sure what to say to you. The love he feels for you is always outweighed by his fear of the past, the fear of himself, and he always finds himself retreating from his feelings.
“It’s late.”
Your heart drops to your stomach. It’s only two words, but it sounds an awful lot like a dismissal. A silent plea for you to go away. It’s two words, but it practically confirms the thoughts that have taunted you all night.
You hang your head and start to drag your feet to your room. You’re tempted to argue and stay put and force him to tell you what happened tonight, but what good would that do?
Omen watches you walk away with a heavy heart. All he craves right now is your comfort, but it’s not fair to you, or to him, or to Viper. Until he can make sense of the things he’s learned, he can’t fathom putting that on you.
You get an hour of restless sleep before you’re woken up by a shout followed by  a door slamming. You jump to your feet, body swaying as you fight the black spots from standing up too quickly. When you finally gather your bearings, you see Omen standing in the corner of your room, eyes locked on you.
“Is something wrong?” You ask, still on alert from the sudden awakening.
The wraith shakes his head, finding his way to your bed as naturally as he would his own. He lets himself fall to the mattress. He hasn’t slept since before Indonesia and his argument with Viper has only tired him out more. You look at him with those soft eyes that slow his racing heart, and Omen knows he’s so gone.
There’s a bitter taste on your tongue from how well he fits into your bed—into your life—but you manage to bite it back. You sink back into your bed next to him, careful to draw your knees into your chest so that you don’t accidentally touch him.
Your feelings from just hours ago still cloud over you, settling over your heart like a thick fog. “Did something happen? I heard a door slam.”
“I spoke to Viper,” he says simply, stretching his arms to fold them behind his head.
“And?”
“I got answers.”
A sigh passes through your lips. Typical Omen, granting you only short answers and curt glimpses into his life. Your eyes begin to tear up, your nose stinging with the impending threat of your emotions. You tilt your head back, desperately trying to keep calm.
“Y/n?”
You clench your jaw, continuing to stare at the ceiling. If you dare open your mouth, you know the floodgates will open.
“Did I—is something wrong?” He ghosts a hand over your hip, not quite touching you but letting you know he’s there.
“I—” Your voice breaks as soon as you try to speak, the tears finally bubbling over and starting to run down your face. You give up on trying to hide it, finally turning to look at him.
“Oh,” he says quietly, finally bringing his hand to grab your waist, the other one wiping your tears and cupping your wet cheek.
“Why don’t you ever share your life with me? I feel like—like you don’t even like me. And now you remember everything and you’re gonna leave and go back to your life and—”
Omen cuts you off with a dry laugh. The sound is enough to shock you out of your meltdown, your breathing turning even without you even realizing. You stare at him curiously. What about this is funny?
When he speaks, his voice carries all the kindness in the world. “Do you really think I’d leave just because I remember my past? Y/n…”
The sad nod you offer him breaks his heart.
“Y/n,” he brushes his thumb beneath your eye to catch another tear. “My past is a monstrosity, I was a monstrosity…I don’t want to go back to that, ever.”
“But—”
“Ever.” He affirms.
You stare at him, admiring the delicacy he paints your skin with. You’ve shared soft moments with him before, but this is something entirely new, entirely different.
“You’re not a monstrosity,” you whisper. “You’re not your past.”
He leans his against your shoulder, admiration clear in the gesture. It was only a day ago that he was placing a furious phone call to Brimstone on the jet home, uttering the same words you just spoke. Somehow, hearing it from you is more convincing than hearing it from himself.
It’s silent for only a moment before he says: “Getting back to what you said earlier.”
“What?”
You hardly even remember what you said to him in the midst of your meltdown, the words now sounding foreign in your ears.
“You think I don’t like you?”
“No, it’s not—you don’t need to…” you trail off awkwardly.
He pulls away from your shoulder and adjusts his grip on your face to force you to stare at him. “You said you feel like I don’t like you.”
“It’s not a big deal.”
“Y/n.”
His tone is serious and forces you to pause before you speak again. He still holds your jaw in his hand, keeping your gaze level with his. His fingertips are like fire against your skin.
“I’m only going to say this once.” He keeps that same serious tone. “The things I feel for you, they cannot be described with fondness, or admiration, or ‘like’. I don’t—I can’t” he corrects, “put it into words. But y/n, just know, it would take ripping me apart and scattering my atoms across time to get me to leave you.”
You melt. The former rigidness to your muscles, the proud set of your jaw—it all melts away. The butterflies in your stomach burst into your chest and leave you speechless.
Omen presses a soft kiss to your cheek. “Are we clear?”
You nod.
“Good.”
Omen falls back onto your mattress, grabbing your hips to tug you down with him. You settle in against the side of his chest, your head nuzzled into the crook of his arm. Your body practically gives away heat, acting as his own personal radiator.
He sighs contentedly, the sleep he’s been delaying coming easily with you by his side.

VALORANT MEETING + DATE HEADCANONS
Hope you enjoy!
SOVA
He was finishing recon in a snowy forest late at night and was done for the day.  He outstretched his arm and sent out the Owl Drone
So far, you had been hiking for about 8 hours through frigid woods and gotten lost about 2 hours earlier.  You were trying to make camp for the night but failing to start a fire
You caught a glimpse of Sova’s drone and followed it back to the man, who immediately regarded you with some suspicion but could see you were of his dimension
Deciding to keep an eye on you, he led you back to his campsite and helped you set up your tent next to his
He was kind, and he quietly offered you a seat next to him by the fire.  Both of you sat awkwardly at first, not quite sure how to handle the silence
“Do you do archery out here?  I noticed the bow and wanted to ask…” you trailed off as he looked at you
He removed the bow and two arrows from his sling.  “Would you like a look at them?”  You moved closer and inspected them.  The technology was intricate but your eyes wandered over to the man sitting close to you
“What brings you out here?”
“I wanted to do the Blue Lakes trail but I got lost a while back.  I was planning on stargazing at the top but…” you gestured to your compass, “I got lost”
“I leave here tomorrow, and I can show you to the trail if you would like.”  Sova offered
You accepted his offer and both of you went to your tents for the night
Humiliatingly, the trail back was marked but Sova didn’t seem to care that you got lost so easily.  The two of you just chatted about the surroundings while traveling onward
At the trailhead, you had to part ways.  But it didn’t have to be the end, and you made a fast decision and asked to see him again
“I’d love to!  What did you have in mind?”
Sova Date
At the trailhead, you finished tying your boots before a familiar voice called out
“Hello y/n!  Should we start walking?”  Sova had dressed in pants and a blue flannel jacket
Both of you continued up to a clearing in the forest, just as the sun was begging to set
You laid out a large blanket from your pack and set it down.  Sova took out a pair of bags and bottles of water
You hadn’t expected him to bring home cooked food, but you weren’t complaining either
Sova and you made yourselves comfortable, and ate while you waited for the evening to turn to night
Conversing with him was always peaceful.  He listened deeply and always responded with optimism or curiosity
The North Star was the first to appear, followed by a few faint constellations
Within an hour, the sky was overrun with stars.  Each point of light layered on another creating a portrait of the galaxy
Sova and you took turns pointing out constellations, each time trying to remember what each star was named
Both of you relied on the book of astronomy you brought along to figure out what was in the sky
Sova had an understanding of stars to navigate, and would name stars in Russian or translate what he could
Although you and him were occupied with stargazing, you started to succumb to the cold of the night
“Y/N, are you cold?”
“No, it’s nothing you need to-”
Sova took his jacket off and place it on you.  The lining inside was warm from Sova’s body heat
“Are you still cold?  Come here, and stay close to me.”  Sova gestured for you to join his side
For the rest of the night, you and him stayed in almost constant contact until you both decided to head back
You followed behind Sova, his sense of direction and torch lit the way.  Despite being deep in the wilderness, you felt safe in his presence
When you arrived at the trailhead, Sova said his goodbyes.  He made sure you would arrive home safely before leaving.  His jacket was still on you
“Sova, you forgot this.” you held his jacket out to him.
“Keep it Y/N, I want you to have it for the next outing.  I hope it brings you much warmth and comfort while I am away.”
“Here’s something to remind you of me.” you gave Sova a kiss
He was a blushing mess, and held you close before departing back to the Valorant HQ
While you traveled back to your home, you ran your fingers over the soft material of Sova’s jacket.  It smelled faintly of him
DEADLOCK
You were in LA when the Landfall facility erupted and you were caught in the crossfire of Omega and Alpha variants.  A single Shock Arrow went off course and hit you with enough voltage to knock you out
Once you came to, Deadlock had finished performing CPR on you, including mouth to mouth.
When you came to, your face was covered in blonde locks of hair, gazing into eyes with intense blue irises, and her body pressed against yours
Iselin was red in the face, and so were you.  Perhaps for the same reason…
Other agents were finishing off the Omega team, Iselin didn’t really have anything else to worry about other than stabilizing you
“Can you tell me your name?” she asked, hoping to establish if you were coherent
You replied perfectly, and set her at ease.  Then you had an idea, and asked for her name
“Deadlo- Iselin, my name is Iselin” she responded
Because you managed to get at least a name, you pressed your luck and asked more about her
“That will have to wait, we’re taking you a hospital to make sure you weren’t injured in any other way”
Sage gave you a check up and confirmed you were fine, then hooked up a heart monitor before leaving to inspect other agents
Iselin walked over to see how you were doing, then sat next to your cot.  It was another chance to get to see her and you tried to converse politely with her
As you chatted she kept looking over your shoulder to something, all while still remaining invested in your conversation
“Do I make you nervous?” She asked softly
“What!  No!  Why would you think that?” you quickly answered back
“It’s just that the monitor says you have an elevated heart rate.”
Looking behind you, the screen did show you that weren’t as relaxed
“Oh!” you exclaimed, “It’s just that, I find you kind of… attractive”
The machine was beeping rapidly now, but not detracting from the silence that swallowed the moment between you and Iselin.  She spoke first
“Would you like to spend some time together then?”  she was blushing as much as you
As you walked out of the clinic, you made plans to see her again
Deadlock Date
You and Iselin decided to meet at a Valorant safehouse that Cypher had once used.  He promised he removed all the cameras
She had prepared some ingredients for dinner you could cook together.  Cooking was something she did with her old team
Because you were in LA still, she managed to find fresh salmon at a market and decided to cook it
She gutted it in front of you, and taught you how to debone, clean and prepare the fish.  Her skill with the knife was amazing, if not intimidating
You asked a for some help and she took your hand, showing you the right way to cut
The rest of the preparation was easier, requiring less input.  It was during this that you talked to Iselin
For her, it was refreshing to find someone who didn’t know about her past, the trauma she’d endured, and could let in gradually
You came to understand that she was ex-military but nothing official.  Her main expertise was in tracking and scouting, which you decided to test
You’d ask about urban legends or survival stories and she’d debunk them or let in on a fact about hunting
The incredulous reactions you had managed to coax a smile out of her
As dinner began, you both started sharing more personal stories and began to get more well-acquainted with the other’s background
Iselin bristled when you asked why she was with Valorant, and she decided to say as much as she could stomach
“I had something happen to me and they were there for me.”  Her eyes darted to her prosthetic arm
There was a moment of silence, tension rose
“I’m glad they were there for you, if they weren’t I don’t think I would have met you.”
The words touched Iselin deeply, and she could only utter out a phrase
“Tusen takk.” she smiled up at you
As you finished your dinner you both had easier conversations about personal tastes.  It was here you found that Iselin enjoyed hiking
“Would you like to go hiking with me?” you asked tentatively
Iselin’s face lit up and she quickly responded with “Ja takk!”
Sadly she had to leave soon and you both exited the safehouse.  Iselin turned to you as you closed the door
“Y/N, thank you.  It hasn’t been easy to let people get close but you’ve helped me relax a bit.  I won’t forget you y/n.”
You got the sense Iselin was signaling something, and you leaned in.  She kissed you and held you close, then cautiously let go
She left you the same way she found you: breathless
ISO
Your day at work had come to an end, and you stepped off of your bus preparing to walk the rest of the way home
Iso’s had already began, as he was chasing down a member of his past corporation.  He had finished off their friends, now it was time to end them
His target had managed to jump out of the window to avoid capture, but Iso didn’t let up even as their chase took them onto the street
A small commotion occurred as Iso’s prey shoved you to put distance between his assassin
As they ran past you, one of Iso’s headphones fell out
Right in front of you as he ran into an alley from your sight
What else were you to do?  Of course you had to return it to him (not because you wanted to get a better look at him)
You began to head towards the alley to see if you could catch Iso in time.  Meanwhile Iso put his abilities into practice
Iso’s target fell right into the Kill Contract, and the assassin stepped into the space disappearing into the Interverse
Of course you didn’t see anything, just a few strange purple particles floating through the air nearby
By the time he stepped out of his Kill Contract he ran right into you and you both fell over
Iso was bewildered and worried a civilian had discovered his secret
He and you caught a glimpse of each other and stopped struggling
Sheepishly, you handed him back his headphone and he took it back while being careful to hide the pistol he had in his coat
After helping you to your feet, you asked him what he was listening to and his reply of 99 God was a welcome surprise
“Wait, do you like his music too?” you asked
“Of course, I’ve been to some of his shows too.  I have playlists full of him.”
You just happened to have 2 tickets to a concert of his, and seizing on the opportunity you asked if he would be interested
It was a yes
Iso Date
At the concert, you met Iso at the front before walking in together.  The ticket staff asked if you were a couple while scanning your passes
Iso blushed immediately and you felt your soul vacate your body
“Ye- maybe?”  “Well it wouldn’t be that, b-” “Uh I think so?”
You both hurried in to the concert and got over the shock
“That was kind of awkward right?  Who even asks that kind of question?”  Iso broke the tension
“I don’t understand people sometimes.” you replied
Eventually that faded into background as the music started, it was a something else to focus on
You and Iso joined the crowd in excitement, dancing and singing to the music that leapt from the speakers
The opening set was absolutely worth the ticket cost
“THIS IS AMAZING!” you cried out.  Iso agreed emphatically
Lost in the moment, you watched Iso feeling the rhythm as purple lights from a nearby projector shown on the crowd
You gazed at him in awe as violet lasers ran over both of your faces, he stared back with equal entrancement
Deciding to embrace the moment, you both stole a quick kiss when smoke machines shrouded the crowd and the show ended
On your way out, Iso and you both talked about your favorite songs, the performance, and the special effects
“This was a great night y/n, we should do something like this again.”
Barely holding back your excitement, you kissed him again before heading home
Iso walked back home listening to a track titled “Songs for Y/N”
Being a hitman was a lonely job, and even since he had joined Valorant he still lacked closeness.  Luckily, he had found you
GEKKO
Thrash had gotten away from him while he was out running a few errands, and he was worrying at this point
He heard the sound of the creature knocking over cans and moving around the isles.  He dashed over to see her pouncing from a shelf into a cart
Your cart
She didn’t revert to a globule, but instead curled up into the cart along with your groceries.  Gekko was beyond panicked at this point
You cautiously reached down and tapped on the critter, and when it nuzzled your hand you started to pet it
Gekko was astounded by Thrash getting along with someone, and stood there in awe as you picked her up and continued to scratch her belly
You noticed him staring at you with his jaw hanging open
“Uh, is this yours?” you asked while handing Thrash over to him.  She flew into Gekko’s satchel excitedly
“Uh, yeah, thanks for catching her.  I never see her get along with other people so it’s kind of weird to see her like this.  The rest of my crew is a lot more chill.”
“The rest of your crew?” you asked.  Gekko realized he said too much at that point
“Well I’m not supposed to talk about it but…a no la importa ahorita.”  he summoned Wingman and placed him in your hands
You saw your chance and took it
“I’d love to get to them and you too if you wanted to do something some time.”
Gekko went red, then smiled
“Meet me tomorrow evening at the Kingdom train depot, past the security fence.”
It was a date, one you were eager for but slightly worried about
Gekko Date
Following Gekko’s instructions was easy enough, getting into the trainyard was easy but the fear of being caught was palpable
It was kind of a rush though, sneaking by all of the cameras and guards.  You knelt down behind some crates and let out a sigh
A finger tapped on your shoulder and you twisted around in fear
“Oye, calma!” Gekko whispered.  “It’s me, you can chill.”  He smiled at you and gestured to a bag you carried
It was filled with spray paints of different colors rattled around inside.  Gekko walked you over to a train car he had already covered in stencils
He grabbed 2 cans gleefully and shook them together.  He tossed the other to you and grinned.  “Lista?  Let’s do this.”
You both got to work, assisted by Wingman to keep watch and hand paint cans.  Deep blues and electric greens covered the car at first, followed by pastel violets.
Cans of paint traded hands, fingers brushing near but never touching.  Until Gekko looked up at the top stencil and had an idea
He hoisted you up on his shoulders and had you paint it.  Wobbling back and forth, you sprayed the last parts of the design before he cautiously let you down
“Ok, I want you to close your eyes alright?” Gekko pleaded. “Wait up, okay 3. 2. 1”
Your eyes opened and saw the beauty you and him created together
It was a scene of a jungle at night, navy blue foliage covering up most of it while neon green fireflies dotted the mural.  In the middle was a prowling jaguar with a cub between its front legs
“It’s beautiful…” you whispered
“you are too” whispered Gekko.  Wingman abruptly pushed you both together and you met each other’s gaze
Both of you kissed each other quickly before blushing and quickly breaking down into embarrassed apologies
“You, I.  We should, do this more right?”
“Yeah, por supuesto”
Wingman lived up to his name that night
CHAMBER
You’d met at after a charity dinner hosted by Kingdom, and it was the most boring thing you’d ever attended
It was a show of corporate goodwill but mainly to placate the public.  The only reason you showed up is because the donations went straight to your city
Plus free wine, which you had taken and were drinking on a balcony that gave you some space from everyone else
“Fait froid non?”
You turned to see a tall man dressed in a fine suit and prismatic tie, his hand extended in greeting
“Vincent Fabron, enchante”
He took your hand, refraining from kissing it and instead shooting you a flirtatious grin
He made small talk with you about the event, and brought up that he had been with Kingdom as a guest.  Both of you started talking about each other's lives
Fabron asked if you had a partner
You blushed a bit and replied “no,” to which he responded “Tres bien, then would you be free for dinner sometime this week?”
You were taken aback by how forward he was, but then again he was a gentleman and quite handsome
A digital chime broke the silence and Fabron checked his wristwatch.  An alert was going off, accompanied by some V-shaped sign
“I look forward to meeting you once more,” he gestured to his watch, “but I am afraid I have some responsibilities to tend to.  Au revoir”
He waved at you as he went back inside and disappeared
In your hands was the card, which had the address of a high end restaurant and a time written on it.  The other side was the business card of Vincent ‘Chamber’ Fabron
Chamber Date
Dressed in your finest clothing, you waited outside of the restaurant building but were unsure where Chamber was
You pulled out the card to see if you had made a mistake and noticed a colorful glow coming from it
In a flash of radiant energy you were teleported, right into a private room with Vincent waiting
“Bonne nuit, I hope the teleportation was comfortable.  Let me get your seat.”
Vincent had finished lighting candles, setting plates, and took your coat before seating you across from him
You sat down to a prepared dinner of salad, coq au vin, and fresh bread
Vincent pressed something on his watch, then teleported a bottle of red wine to his hand and opened it.  He poured your glass and sat down as he poured his own
He began asking more about your life, interests, and even a few intimate questions
You naturally responded with your own questions, learning about his time at Kingdom and even a little about his time with Valorant
He asked about your life some more, not forgetting any of the details you told him the first time you met
By the time you both had finished the wine, it felt as if you knew the other as lifelong partners.  Vincent was listening to you explain something, but you became nervous
“Am I boring you?  I didn’t mean to-”
“I assure you, nothing you do could ever be boring.  There’s nobody more invested in you than me, Y/N.”
You were taken aback, and felt a spark of something.  On an impulse you leaned in
Chambers' lips met yours and both of you kissed, he had found a private room so the moment you both shared was only yours to know
When you finished, Vincent sat back confidently with a somewhat knowing, if not smug, look on his face
“I’ve been waiting for you to do that all night”
FADE
Istanbul is a lively city, so the few places that offered a bit of peace were an oasis.  One such oasis was a bookstore in Kadikoy
You had paged through books but hadn’t really found anything that piqued your interest yet.  The saturation of supernatural romances and dystopian teen novels wasn’t helping
A woman with dark hair was also reading through another book, but unlike you was invested.  She sat at a table with a glass of warm tea
Her hands obscured the title, but you wanted to know if it was worth reading
Not like you had other reasons
“Uhh hi, what are you reading?”
You came face to face with mismatched eyes and a curious stare
“Dune,” she moved her hand to let you see the cover, “I’ve had it recommended to me by friends.  It’s quite good.”
You instinctively replied, “I know right, especially when Paul-” you cut yourself off before spoiling the book
Fade wasn’t normally in a mood to talk with strangers, but something about you was different to her
Normally she could feel fear emanate from people near her, however she didn’t get any sense you held fear
Of course this intrigued her
“Do you come to this store often?  I come here often but I haven’t seen you here before.”
You told her you were visiting for the first time but often went to another store that closed
“So you read often, what genre is your favorite?” she had set down her book
“I prefer science fiction, but I’ll read anything with good characters.” you replied. “What do you prefer?”
“The same, although I’ll read anything when I have the chance.” she took a sip from her glass
Just as she finished, one of Istanbul’s many cats entered the store.  A calico covered in large orange spots and one giant black spot across its back
It came up to you and began rubbing against your legs.  Then it came over to Fade and did the same
“She seems to like you,” you mentioned before Fade took the calico and fed it something from her bag.  She held it in her lap as it chewed on whatever it was eating
“Come, she is friendly.”  Fade invited you next to her.  Obliging, you sat down and started petting the cat
“What is your name?”
“Hazal”
“And you are?”
“Y/N,” you took your chance, “Would you want to get khave some time and talk a bit more?”
“Evet, that sounds lovely”
Fade Date
The neighborhood of Moda provided the perfect place to reacquaint yourself with Hazal
Naturally as you were on your way over, Hazal found you first.  The woman is a bounty hunter after all
“Merhaba!” Hazal surprised you and led you into a small cafe.  There were only a few other customers, leaving you and her mostly alone
She ordered khave, and you ordered the same.  The Turkish coffee brought to you was the first you ever had
It was like drinking coffee grounds and pure caffeine in a cup.  It was an acquired taste but very easy to acquire
Hazal and you talked about books you had read recently.  You compared some of the adaptations you both saw in theaters, agreeing mostly that the books were better
The conversation moved to life, and you asked about what Hazal did.  She mentioned that she did ‘private investigation’ but now works with a private security organization
It was a secretive topic, but you were fine with her answer.  It was more important to focus on the future
“Y/N, have you ever had your fortune read?” Hazal asked
“Not really, do you know how to tell the future?” you replied, you were curious at this point
Hazal pointed to your empty cup
You passed it over to her and she looked it over.  She searched it over and then set it in the middle of the table
“I see in your future…a deep unrest and sudden death.”  She turned up to you with a dire look in her eyes
“I’m going to die?” you asked.  Hazal’s facade broke and she laughed a bit
“Hayir, relax, it is only a joke.  In fact you’ll like the reading better now.”
You calmed a bit, and laughed a bit at how she managed to mess with you
“It seems like you’re going to go through some change, brought on by things beyond your control.”  she paused to look over the coffee cup, “But something will bring you great solace during this.”
“I wish I knew what that something was.  Do you see anything else about it?” you asked
“Well I have one theory,” Hazal pointed to herself, “It could be someone, not something.”
You decided to flirt a bit more, “And who could that be?”
“Someone close, someone mysterious maybe?  They could even be right here.”
“I’d bet they’d even go for a kiss if given the chance,” you caught Hazal leaning in as you said it
You shared a kiss with her, the first of many
VIPER
She rarely ventured outside of her lab and between running Valorant and missions, she had to keep her time off brief and tended to try keep a low profile
Her time outside of the HQ was generally spent visiting parts of the world and visiting art museums
Viper had a particular love of the arts, and museums were often silent so there was little interference from other people
Except for you
She was observing Goya’s Black Paintings, specifically Saturn Devouring His Son.  It’s savagery was overwhelming and therefore intrigued her
You sat down on a bench to observe it as well, and maybe the other person in here with you.  The grotesque painting was enthralling, if not disturbing to think about
Then she sat down next to you, and you tried to keep your eyes on the painting.  It was impossible not to dart your eyes over to her
“Why do you keep looking at me?” Viper spoke in a bitter tone
Thinking as fast as you could you explained that you weren’t looking at her per say, rather just the…painting behind her.  You were looking over at Duelo a Garrotazos
She raised an eyebrow and sighed, “That’s an awful lie.”
To prove your innocence you went into detail about what you knew about the painting:  History, interpretation, value, and origin.
Sabine’s suspicion turned to interest
“You know art quite well, is it a passion of yours or a profession?”
“Just a passion, and I wasn’t trying to stare at you.”
“I’m not as concerned with that anymore, what I am curious about is what brings you here.”
“Just wanted to look at the collection.  By the way, I never got your name.”
“Sabine, and yours is?”
“Y/N”
“Have you ever painted before Y/N?  Or are you mostly a critic?”  Sabine’s intense green eyes studied your reaction
“Only a little bit, but I enjoy it when I have the chance.”
“Would you be interested in joining me at a studio sometime this week?  I rented a space.”
Caught off guard, you quickly asked if she was trying to ask you out.  She was less interrogative now, and being genuine in her offer
“I would love to.” you answered.
An alert from Sabine’s phone broke the moment.  Her face contorted into exasperation, and she quickly texted something back.
“It appears I have something to attend to Y/N.  We should discuss this later.”
Sabine handed you a page from a pocket book with her number, and after she took one last look at the gallery, left the museum
As she left, you heard her mutter something about her lab and ‘Phoenix,’ whatever that meant
Her leaving was a bit abrupt, but you would be seeing her again and you could hardly wait
Viper Date
Viper didn’t tell anyone about your date except for Brimstone
In her space she had assembled what she could for a still life: a few beakers and a collection of poisonous flowers like Oleandar, Belladonna, and Hemlock
Her arrangement was of flowers sticking out of scientific glasses.  It wasn’t the most ornate but it did offer plenty to paint
Knocking several times, you waited outside for Sabine to let you in.  She greeted you with a softer tone than at the museum
You began assembling your palette with Sabine.  You went for realistic colors, she went for darker variants
Each of you took a couple of brushes, dipped them in a glob of paint, and began your still-lifes
As you painted, you started discussing what each of you did for work, then chatted about art and world events
Both of you blamed Kingdom for much of the world’s current issues, and Sabine shared stories from when she worked for them
Some of them were definitely a little worrying, considering she had not only slightly poisoned coworkers but avoided being fired in doing so
Her understanding of chemistry was incredible to listen too, she had a clear passion for it
“Why do you like working with poison so much?”
“I’m good at it, there’s not much more to it,” she paused, assessing her answer,
“But I guess I enjoy what they mean to us.  We fear them because we don’t understand them, but once we do they control life and death.  I like that, the power they give to those willing to take it.”
“So you think of what you do as a way to help people, but using something that people don’t trust.”
“I suppose so.”
“Do you ever feel alone then?”  Sabine paused mid brushstroke, “It must be difficult having interests people are afraid of.”
“It can be Y/N, but I’ve found it isn’t as bad anymore.  Poisons have their place in my life, people are earning theirs.”  She went back to her palette
You added in more pastels to make the flowers stand out against the background
Once you were done, you shared the results with one another.  Yours was more bright, and had heavier detail.  Sabine’s was more abstract, focusing on brush strokes and tone
At the end, you both exchanged the paintings as a parting gift
Sabine cautiously asked if you would like to have dinner some time.  She picked at one of her nails waiting for a response
“Of course!” you replied.  Then leaned in and gave a Sabine a quick peck on the cheek
She could hardly get a word out
You and her left the studio planning on dinner and more art nights in the future.  You had settled on portraits next
Sabine later thought about asking you pose nude for a portrait but dismissed the thought
CYPHER
Normally, you tried to stay away from explosions, gunfire, and energy blasts.  While slipping away you were caught in a leftover trip wire you didn’t see
The wire had tangled your legs, and forced you on the ground
You were frantically struggling against the wires when you heard footsteps
“Well, well, it appears a fly has gotten caught in my web.  Let’s see who it is.” a voice coldly whispered
A man in a white coat and hat stepped from behind the corner with a gun drawn.  His eyes were hidden by a dark mask, mechanical blue eyes took their place.  Unfeeling
At least until he saw you.  Despite the mask you saw the shock take hold immediately
“Oh, apologies,” he reached his hand out and retrieved the wire, “I wasn’t expecting others to get caught”
The initial fear you had turned to confusion
“Who are you?” you asked
“I prefer people I don’t know to call me Cypher.  Allow me to lead you out of here.”
His offer seemed genuine and you didn’t have any other choice but to follow him into a hidden room where he sat you down
“I didn’t mean to catch you, I hope it was not uncomfortable.”  he sounded regretful, and seemed to truly care about you
“Here,” he handed you your phone, “you dropped this while you were struggling.”
As you checked your phone over, you noticed the screen was glitching out.  It was randomly receiving and exporting data
Your savior/captor was entering something into a desktop set up in the room.  He was typing up something while you scrutinized your phone
Cypher turned back to you, and you caught a glance of a computer screen.  It read: SECURED DATA
“So, Y/N.  What brought you out here?  I know you aren’t a threat, but I’m still going to make sure you don’t reveal anything to someone else.”
“How did you know my name?” Cypher pointed at your glitching phone.  “You hacked my phone?”
“No, I bugged it.  Check the back, I planted it there when I handed it to you.  I wanted to make sure you weren’t spying.”
A small silver disc clung to the back of your phone.  You struggled to pull it off, so Cypher offered to help
“You don’t need to worry about me holding onto any of your secrets, I cleared the data once I was done.”
“Do you always hack people's phones when you meet them?”
“Yes.”  Cypher’s answer was completely serious, not a hint of sarcasm
You asked more questions, getting a better idea of who this mysterious man was.  It was difficult to get clear answers
“Y/N, I trade secrets for a living.  Give me something and I’ll give you something.”
You thought intensely, then it hit you
“I’ll tell you anything about me you want, but on one condition.”
Cypher’s interest piqued.  He leaned in to meet your gaze
“If you take me somewhere that means something to you, you can interrogate me as much as you want.”
His mask stretched in brief surprise, then slyly relaxed as he sat back in his seat.  He clasped his hands together
“You surprised me with that Y/N.  It’s hard to surprise me, so I’ll take you up on your little interrogation.”
Cypher Date
Cypher’s coordinates and description were slightly difficult to follow, but regardless you managed to get there on time
You asked for the second floor room in the tea shop, and were led up some stairs into a room with cushions, drawn shades, and hanging lamps
The entire room was bathed in dim colorful light and smelled faintly of mint
Next to the table was Cypher, his mask undone but eyes covered with glasses
“Ah, Y/N!  Have a seat, the tea was just brought up.” he gestured to a silver tea pot
You placed yourself across from him and watched as he poured a cup of tea, taking care to stretch his arm upwards to let the tea cool as it fell
He passed the cup to you and motioned for you to drink.  You took a small sip from the steaming broth
It was the best thing you had ever tasted.  It was sweet like honey but had a distinct taste of mint.  Moroccan tea was your new favorite drink to say the least
Cypher enjoyed it with you
“So, even though I may have researched you for security I sadly didn’t get to know you that well.  Tell me more about you.”
You told him about what you did for work, and the places you had traveled to.  Cypher probably knew about it but was still invested
He had his fair share of stories too.  A life of information brokering and spying left him with some incredible tales
His ability to make you hang on every word was unlike anything you had heard before.  The man was a natural storyteller, and invested you quickly
By the time you and Cypher had finished most of the tea, it was getting late and you were beginning to learn more about Cypher’s personal life
“Can I trust you with something Y/N?” Cypher removed his glasses to look at you clearly.  His eyes were a deep shade of mahogany
“Sure, I won’t tell anyone if you don’t want me to.”
“My name, my real name, is Amir.  People who are close to me know it, I believe you should know who I am too.”
“Amir,” you said while getting closer, “that’s a beautiful name.  I’m glad you trust me with it.”
Amir and you said your goodbyes outside of the tea shop, using his alias of course
“Cypher, before you leave again I wanted to thank you for saving me.”
“It was no-”
You kissed him while you had the chance.  You did want to thank him after all
Amir was more than receptive to it, and you eventually had to break it off.  Glasses hid his eyes, but not his excitement
You had captured him this time
YORU
You heard the sound of something falling over and metallic components spilling everywhere
Readying a baseball bat, you flung the door open and prepared to swing
Instead of a thief or even an animal, you were face to face with an oni.  Spectral blue energy spilled from the out from the portal it was clawing its way out of
Its bright blue eyes glowed with power, and it stepped through the portal towards you
In your panic you swung and hit him in the ribs
“KUSO!  THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM!”
On closer inspection, the ‘oni’ from before was a man in a bike jacket and wearing a mask.  It didn’t change the fact he was in your garage
“Who are you and why are you in my garage?”  You readied another swing
“Yoru, and I just teleported here because I was making an escape.  I didn’t think anyone was home.”
After a few seconds, Yoru tried to get back up but stumbled.  A red stain on his shirt gave away why
“Did you get shot?”
“What of it?  You hit me with a bat so I don’t get why you give a shit.”
You realized that not only was Yoru wounded, he was also unarmed too.  He had nothing aside from the mask he wore
“Stay here, I’m gonna get you some bandages and gauze.”
“I don’t need that.  I’ll manage without you, plus I don’t think you know what you’re doing.  No offense but I’m not gonna take help from-”
Yoru winced as you applied rubbing alcohol to the wound.  He inhaled sharply as you cleaned the bullet hole and applied aid
Once you had patched him up, he sat in the garage across from you
“So what’s your name?”
“Y/N.”
“Do you always beat your patients before helping them out?  Or are you that bad at first aid?”
“You wear that mask because you got a messed up face?” you weren’t about to take insults from Yoru after you saved him
He removed the mask, and to your shock he was quite good looking.  He continued to scowl at you between sarcastic comments
He noticed the motorcycle in the garage, and gestured to it
“Oi Y/N.  That yours?”
“Yes, why are you asking?”
“I ride too,” Yoru adjusted his bandage before standing up, “looks like yours has got a bit damage.”
It was true, the motorcycle needed repairs and it was a chore to look up videos and learn to fix it.  It was good to learn, but time consuming
“I could look it over,” Yoru smirked at you, “but I’m not feeling so grateful right now.”
“Then you can come back later as thanks for me patching that hole in your stomach.  Sound good?”
Yoru was surprised at the offer, and despite his outward personality did retain a sense of politeness from his time as a yakuza
“I could come by again.   If I teleport in, you better not lose your mind again and hit me.  That pissed me off last time.”
“I’ll get it out if you forget to come by.”
“You’ve got a deal, Y/N.”
Yoru Date
Yoru teleported into the garage later than when he said he would.  A blue flash alerted you to his arrival
He went over to your toolbox, taking wrenches out and checking the sizes of bolts.  He also removed his jacket, placing it nearby
“Start it up, I wanna hear the engine.”  Yoru tossed you the keys.  The sputtering of the engine was not a great sign
“It’s the carburetor,” Yoru was absolutely certain in his voice
You and him got to work taking apart the bike and getting into the engine.  It was an older model of motorcycle, but Yoru seemed to know exactly what to take apart
Both of you finally got to the engine, and removed part of the engine block to get to the carburetor
“We need to replace it.  Give me a second, don’t touch anything else.”  Yoru disappeared into a portal
In the minute he was gone, the engine began to ooze black fluid.  You rolled your sleeves up and started to remove the engine block to keep it from leaking more
Yoru stepped back, holding a replacement carburetor
“What are you doing?”
“The engine is leaking oil, I took it out so nothing else gets oil on it.”
He got down to look at engine you removed, his disapproval turning to satisfaction.  He picked up a wrench and handed it to you
“Take the rest of it apart, we’re fixing the whole block.  After that, we’re gonna do everything else.”
After a few hours, the bike engine, tires, and suspension were replaced with new versions.  Yoru even stole some paint and redid the color on the bike
He got on the bike and started it.  A smooth growl came from the new engine
“Hop on, Y/N.  You and I are gonna make sure nothing’s wrong with the bike.” you both grabbed helmets
You got behind Yoru and held yourself close to his back.  Your hands were firmly around his torso
He revved the engine and peeled out of the garage.  Yoru sped towards the highway and weaved between cars
Street lights and vehicles blurred around you as the motorcycle rushed past them all.  Yoru’s driving was precise, but he was pushing the engine to the limit any chance he got
Cold wind forced you to hold Yoru tighter for warmth.  Even through the jacket, he kept you from freezing
Yoru’s driving had attracted some police cars, to which Yoru decided to let chase him.  He began the chase by popping a wheelie and tearing ahead
The cruisers tried to keep pace with him, but couldn’t match his speed.  Yoru flipped them off as he escaped
Suddenly a blockade appeared on your horizon.  Yoru seemed to smile through his helmet.  “Keep holding on.” he commanded
He drifted the bike into the blockade as he activated his mask.  You and him rode the bike into the rift
Your escape led you right into the garage, where Yoru skidded to a halt.  He hopped off the bike and smirked at you
“So, how do you like my driving Y/N?”
“That was insane.  I loved it!”
“You’ll like this too then.”
Yoru grabbed you and kissed you.  It lasted for a second but the moment seemed longer than that
When the initial shock wore off, you turned to a slightly blushing Yoru
“We should go for a joyride more often.” you muttered with what little sense you had
