Taylor’s major event appearances this year came in threes: a trio of movie premieres (Eras, Renaissance, Poor Things) and award shows (Grammys, iHeartRadio, MTV VMAs).

If there were a unifying theme (that also extended to her street style) it was a more concerted approach to glam. Whether that was in oversized jewelry like the doorknocker Lorraine Schwartz earrings at the Grammys. Or her heavy stack of necklaces (Joseph Saidian & Sons and Anita Ko) and bracelets (Foundrae, Jacquie Aiche) and rings (David Webb, Ita Jewelry, and that one onyx Van Cleef & Arpels ring #iykyk) at the MTV VMAs.

Or even in more subtle, but still elevated, ways. Like Cartier diamond tennis jewelry at the Eras Tour premiere (a move I like to call ‘spoken word luxury’ - not loud and self-aggrandizing, but not quiet either) or the glam Hollywood glove-like fit of a Balmain gown that was thoughtfully on theme for a night celebrating Renaissance silver, or even a slinky all black look by The Row at the Poor Things premiere that had me whispering “You must be the woman who’s been screwing my husband” under my breath for all the very best reasons.

This is one of my favourite lipsticks from Chanel and I’ve gotten so much wear out of it that it’s time for me to buy another. I appropriated the original from my sister when I visited her one year and quickly found that it wasn’t a colour that I could easily live without. It’s sheer if I apply it with a light hand, it’s a berry coloured blood red, it stains my lips and I don’t have to reapply it for hours and hours, and I love the weight of the lipstick tube it comes in. I’m not usually too big of a fan of Chanel makeup because I think my experiences with it have been pretty hit or miss over the years but I love this lipstick and I’ll buy it until I find a good dupe.

I saw this purse when I was out the other day and I usually buy things from Staud without hesitation so this was a no brainer. I’ve been in need of a new simple black purse for a while now and, surprisingly, this one fits all of my shit. It’s nothing special but it works for me, it works with my entire casual closet, and it’s not super heavy. The black leather is smooth and that’s VERY nice, the lining is easy to get stains out of and doesn’t bunch up or tear, and the purse is light enough to carry in my hands or use the crossbody strap with. I have a few bags from Staud that have held up really nicely so I know that this one will last for a few years with either very minor quality issues or no issues at all.

I needed a new pair of sunglasses and these ones were the vibe. I tried them on in stores, loved how they were huge and made me look like I was in the Himalayas, and I loved how flattering the colours of the metal and the lenses were on me. Max Mara is a brand that I’ve had a big of experience with but I’ve never cared to buy sunglasses from them until now. I decided not to buy them when I was in store because I found them on sale for a huge discount on Saks off Fifth and ordered them immediately. Summer will be coming to a close soon so I wanted sunglasses that would work for the winter as well and I’m very pleased that I found these on sale instead of paying full price for them when I was out.

Last but not least, the most recent thing I’ve purchased is this black lace bra. It used to be my THING to wear a lacy black bra under a slouchy white t-shirt and it’s time for me to bring that right back around. I don’t know if this is bra is going to be a hit because I have implants and some of the bras I buy don’t work for me but I ordered it, I’ll return it if I have to, and I’ll look for a lacy bra elsewhere. I’m crazy about quality when it comes to bras because I cannot stand to wear lingerie that’s breaking down or made with shitty materials so I’ll have to wait until this one arrives to see if it passes my tests. If this bra doesn’t work out, I’m going to get a glass of wine, hop on Net-a-Porter, and search for one that works for my current situation.

Random Character Building Questions - Accepting!

What type of jewelry do they usually wear?

While Sonia has access to the majority of the Royal Family's crown jewels as the crown princess (and eventually most, if not all, of it when she becomes Queen), most of the collection is kept for special occasions and appearances only. State dinners, balls, galas, and anything warranting a black tie dress code would bring into question with her stylists which set should be loaned to her. Choosing an inappropriate piece in design, or a tiara she's worn recently, or an item whose origins conflict with the country and/or guest she's visiting or greeting are all terrible faux pas!

But her day-to-day wear is a lot more practical. In her canon design for her In Utero uniform, she wears a pair of stud earrings (usually white gold or yellow gold balls, or round pearls), a faceted sapphire brooch set in 24k yellow gold filigree, and a yellow gold tennis bracelet. I'd imagine she would choose something similar at Hope's Peak, minus the brooch.

Otherwise, most of her jewelry is classic, timeless, and most importantly, real. Plastic gems, cubic zirconia, etc. is all seen as tacky and costume jewelry (and while Sonia is all for it, her family would never give her moissanite), and her look is styled to be polished and discreet at her young age. Sonia's daily/routine jewelry is almost all gifted (also appropriate in the family: it's seen as irresponsible, if not tacky, for a young woman to buy her own fine jewelry before she's well out of school age), and ranges from a variety of pendants (solid gold, pearl, gemstones, etc.) on delicate chains (one necklace at a time is worn for official events but she may layer them in her casual outfits if they're on different length chains), at least one string of pearls, studs, small and thin hoops, and drop earrings in a variety of gemstones in white and yellow gold settings, a classic watch once she hits her university years (likely Cartier, in the Tank style or something similarly understated but elegant. In the Royal Family, children do not need watches: they are accompanied by tutors, nannies, and/or parents everywhere), discreet bangle, cuff, and tennis bracelets (and never worn in a stack. A Cartier Love bracelet in plain gold or four diamonds only is the only bracelet that should be on a wrist if worn. Same goes for the classic Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra or any other sort of classic piece that has been worn to the death by celebrities everywhere in giant bracelet stacks).

Rings are allowed for the right hand only after she turns eighteen until she is officially engaged (as it makes too much speculation in the press otherwise). She is also only allowed one piercing per ear, in each earlobe. Sonia isn't permitted to have multiple piercings, body piercings, or tattoos, for that matter. You will never see her wear any jewelry with a giant luxury brand's label on it, or anything that overwhelms her. Much of what she wears is inherited, if it isn't outright gifted to her and she's permitted to keep it. Her gifts aren't always from the big luxury jewelry brands either: independent brands that fit the aesthetic her family needs her to fit into are also considered and supported.

That said...

...she went ham once she got to Japan and bought all the plastic, gaudy jewelry she could carry from the DR equivalent of Shibuya 109. She just never wears it in front of her family because they'd demand she take it off. Giant fake pearls? Bows of all sorts? Creepy kawaii pastel horror and Halloween motifs? Yeah. She loves it all!

Emeralds and diamonds are what's found the most in the Royal Family's collection and Sonia likes them, but she also enjoys pearls and sapphires quite a bit as well. She has a few sterling silver pieces too, but mostly, it's gold of some sort. Think classic and timeless: something Sonia could, and likely will, pass down to her own children.

A note: asking me fashion and style headcanons will ensure you're written the length of a novel in return. Besides geeky fandoms and book fandoms...this is my fandom.

What’s a song you associate with your muse? 

I keep a whole playlist on Spotify for Sonia! Whether it's ambient music to write to, or music that fits a specific ship, or music I could imagine playing in the background of a scene/aesthetic but doesn't necessarily fit her. But I also have songs that I do associate with her on it, so I'll drop one of them here, even if it's one of the more obvious choices from the list:
