Maybe this is a hot take as a Vax’ildan stan

but i truly don’t want him to come back and here’s why.

1) I think it’s lazy writing. Vax’s story ended years ago there’s no need to bring him back to a story or world that he’s not apart of anymore.

2) Vax was brought back numerous of times and this was his final moment, the whole crew cried hours he had a huge speech and now that’s gonna be pointless and a waste of energy that even happened if you bring him back.

3) I want him to be with Keyleth but what good is that going to do? Let her have happiness for a few years and then take it all away from her again? She’s going to out live him anyway, he’s going to die again and she’s going to be miserable again. She needs to grow and move on now .

4) Vax won’t be the same Vax’ildan he’s been through hell slaving for the raven queen and he’s not going to be emotionally okay for the real world, real people all over again. So more added Hell for Vax , Vex and Keyleth ! (tho i enjoy angst so.) Vax is going to revisit a world that moved without him, his twin is no longer his twin, everyone’s older and different.

Idk i just think Vax should stay dead and if Matt really brings him back after everything just so he can be with an NPC then that’s lazy writing 🤷🏽‍♀️ unless Liam gonna play him in the next campaign leave that GUY DEAD!!! Bringing him back makes his death scene less emotionally impactful.

So I’ve been simultaneously thinking about D&D and past events in Skullgirls, and this collided with Leviathan’s voice actor Liam O’ Brien voicing a character with an English accent in Crit Role.

So. Imagine the bit where Vax shaves off half of Grog’s beard while he sleeps, only human Leviathan is Vax and Samson is Grog.

Bonus points if Delilah is Vex/Laura Bailey reacting to the whole thing.

#2 - vex’ahlia or jester?

this is very difficult for me as a resident Liam Character Kinnie because what im essentially looking at is “your sister or your sister”.... im gonna have to go with jester because i do the jester voice all the time for no reason bc its just. fun.

#3 - vax’ildan or caleb?

listen to me. listen. listen, theyre both good. Liam O Briens is the same. i’d probably go with vax just cuz listening to calebs angst gives me panic attacks, but listening to vaxs angst is therapudic.

#4 - pike or yasha?

pike. i adore yasha with my entire lesbian body but nothing will top the exhiliration of Pike hopping into the whitestone battle. remember that? she did like a 50 foot horizontal leap into a horde of undead??? iconic.

#5 - keyleth or beauregard?

beauregard. i would die for kiki but I’m just more endeared for Beau. I feel like I missed something crucial in Keylyth by not having the beginning of that campaign, but starting from square one with Beau made me have a lot of affection for her. Plus, im a caleb kinnie.

#6 - scanlan or tary or nott?

if you had asked me this two weeks ago i wouldve said nott but the last two episodes have just been like. a nail in the coffin for any interest i had in her. Scanlan is a fantasy racist but im a bitch for charming rat bastards and also for Dads TM, plus WHATS MY MOTHERS NAME? is always gonna hit hard. I do think I’d have to go with Tary in the end though? he was just the most endearing and i dont remember Fantasy Racism being a major component of his character? plus his relationship with VM was just. very wholesome

#7 - percy or mollymauk or caduceus?

you cant make me choose???? they’re all fucking. legendary? If i had to put them in any order I think Molly and Caduceus changed a)my mindset on certain things and b)my aesthetic to a certain extent. Percy is relatable and his one-liners are incredibly iconic and id die for him, but in terms of “who means the most to me” mollymauk would win. still though, this isnt fair. 

#8 - grog or fjord?

fjord. hes a bastard man, but honestly i think Big Stupid Man Can’t Read Likes Killing loses its comedic effect eventually. Grog is precious but his endearingness has an end to it. I think Fjord has his moments of being boring but I still like him overall. I wish he was less Heterosexual. I like him though. Plus, southern accent + deepish voice = instant win

#10 - vox machina or the mighty nein?

THE MIGHTY NEEEEIIIIIIN. I love VM and always will but I think that M9 feels so much more interpersonal. It’s about these characters, their lives, and what affects them. They literally didn’t give a single fuck about this war until like a week ago. They’ve spent the past 3 months helping a pirate unleash an ancient god specifically so that Fjord can understand himself. The “noble heroes” party is out the door, instead we have demon-summoning, hand-chopping, crime-doing madness and I’m thrilled about it.

Lmao Liam himself has said Caleb has a crush on Jester but I feel like this is just Liam and his absolute love of the opposites attract trope. See the whole Vax/Keyleth relationship which was a very thinly veiled Hades/Persephone parallel aesthetic. I’m thinking about how for the 1st 90 episodes I watched of Campaign 2 I stayed off any sort of critical role fandom, to avoid spoilers.

But because of this I was utterly unaware of ships. Like I only shipped, YezaxNott, FjordxJester, BeauxYasha, and briefly BeauxKeg.

And then I finally saw some shipping super cut videos. And I was so shocked, like what? People ship Caleb and Jester??? Beau’s crush completely shocked me. People shipped Widobrave? What? Yasha and Jester?
