#vector normalization

Normalize this, normalize that, why don’t you calm the fuck down about normalizing shit and start normalizing this vector. Your linear algebra homework is due tonight and you haven’t even started it.

Ok so let’s say we have vector a. First let’s see if it’s a unit vector, which has a magnitude of 1. If it’s a unit vector, there’s no need to normalize; it’s already normalized.

In order to calculate vector a’s magnitude you need to square root the dot product of vector a with itself. This means you would need to sum up the square of each entry (i.e. 3^2 + 1^2 + 2^2 + (sqrt2)^2), then find the square root of that summation. It’s kind of like the pythagorean theorem but with more than just an a^2 and a b^2

So like yeah you just kinda add up all that stuff but from there you should get the square root of 16 (4), which is not equal to 1. Therefore vector a is NOT a unit vector and you need to normalize it.

To normalize vector a, you just divide each of its entries by the magnitude of vector a. So instead of a 3, it should be 0.75, and instead of a 1, it should be 0.25. That way, when you calculate the magnitude of that new vector, its magnitude should be equal to 1.

Was thinking abt the fact that IF Vector and Espio found Charmy when he was a baby, taking their "canon" ages into account, Vector would have been like mid-teens and Espio like. a preteen at the time and I love a good 'You're the age I was when we met/I did [X]/etc.' Soooo woe! R ESPIO AND VECTOR IN YOUR HORSE RIDING AU PLZZZZ

Yeah im super normal about them to xd especially Vector.

Anyway yea the are. Espio is a professional dressage rider, he has his own horse, Aesthetic, a mare. His dad owns one of the most well known stallions of Spineshire Bay, Guardian, wich Espio has also shown with. He does ninjitsu outside of riding, he is a liberty training MASTER and can ride without any tack and still have a flawless ride. He and Aesthetic share one braincell. He got Aesthetic for his 13th birthday, rn he is 16.

Because i'm very normal about Vector, he owns 3 horses, used to work at the police and he is a farrier and trainer at the stables. He owns a black Dutch Warmblood, Barron, he bought Barron when Barron was a foal and raised him and trained him completely by himself, he did eventing / cross country with Barron, wich he now does with Renn, his Belgian Draft, Renn was a rescue, and he has a shetland pony, Gucci, wich is used for riding lessons, and Vector has taught Gucci all kinds of tricks cuz why not. Vector is a horse trainer, he backs and saddle trains horses. As i said he is a farrier, and when hes busy, yk, being a farrier doing horse feet, do not talk to him :3 Barron is his heart horse, they trust each other blindly.

Espio and Vector do know each other but don't have a lot of interaction, Espio has ridden Barron like once or twice, but thats really it. Espio's parents are very good friends with Vector, they don't really know each other that well, but Espio does respect Vec and loves his horses.

Also Vector and Vanilla are in a relationship :)

i dont think i actually want a canon answer to this because its kinda fun not knowing everything about every sonic characters' life and getting to fill in the gaps myself but i do wonder how vector espio and charmy met because i feel like thats the sort of thing that has to have a Story behind it beyond just oh they met and became friends one day and now theyre teammates
