A new post was made detailing how updates/plans will work in the future, here's the highlights:

Future versions "will be roughly divided into three types: "mainline version", "event version" and "game version"":

>"The "mainline version" is a major version that contains important updates to the mainline content. For example, the upcoming 2.0 version will update the main plot of Chapter 3."

> ""Event version" is a large version that includes large-scale theme activities. For example, the upcoming version 1.3 will include three minor versions: 1.3.1, 1.3.2, and 1.3.3. Each minor version lasts about two weeks. Version 1.3 will start the second phase of the P5 linkage event."

> ""Gameplay version" will be interspersed between the above two types of major versions as a buffer and transition, with a short duration and with gameplay updates as the main content. For example, the upcoming 1.4 version is such a version."

Each update cycle will include a mainline update and an event update; Mainline updates will "last about 2 weeks", event updates will "last about 4-6 weeks", and gameplay updates will "last about 2 weeks". I'm taking "last" to mean that about that amount of time will pass after that kind of update before the next update is added?

It sounds like the upcoming updates will go 1.3.1 -> 1.3.2 -> 1.3.3 -> 1.4 -> 2.0

They may have to consider breaking mainline updates into smaller updates in the future due to the content becoming "richer" (I assume a nicer way of saying it'll take more work to finish those, either because they're more elaborate or less of the work is already done)

Future 5-stars added will be added to the confidant system, and "can form intimate relationships matching their age and gender" (presumably, given what we've seen so far, saying Wonder can date them if they're female and around his age)

They also mention "festival-themed characters (such as summer swimsuit characters that will be updated later)" as an exception to this- "the stories of such characters will be presented in the form of event plots"

Future 4-stars, however, "will be shaped through personal exclusive plots"; I'm guessing this means, similar to Marian, they won't be confidants and will instead have dedicated side quests

They're considering changing the rate players get energy at and/or lowering the required points to rank up with someone, in order for players to progress confidants faster

Kiyoshi and Toshiya (Key and Sepia) are confirmed as confidants that they're updating the script for and will be added (in Kiyoshi's case, added back) later; Riddle is confirmed to be getting a personal side quest instead

They're also planning to work on adding plots for Puppet and Kotone (Mont), though it's not clear from Google translate whether this will be a confidant, a personal side quest, or if they've even decided yet

In Version 1.3.1, King Frost, Bishamonten, and Melchizedek will be added as Personas

They're generally planning to increase the rewards from various daily quests/things like that, to help players power up characters more easily

This art accompanies the announcement of Version 1.3, which will add phase 2 of the P5 collab to the game!

The update is coming to the mainland servers on May 23rd, and overall consist of three smaller versions:

1.3.1 (May 23, 2024 - June 6, 2024) will add chapter 2 of the collab (the "Art Museum chapter"): "The Phantom Thieves and their group, who originally planned to sneak into Miyazawa Palace, once again entered a mysterious palace similar to the previous one due to the disturbance of the otherworld navigation. This time it was an art museum with an artistic atmosphere." Fox will be the banner character for this event

1.3.2 (June 6, 2024 - June 20, 2024) will add an activity; it sounds like the "Chess Chase" game mode from previous beta tests: "Produced by Besa: Somewhere in Mementos, there is a special palace without secret treasures and palace owners. It is currently managed by the shadow "Besa" temporarily. Due to the lack of secret treasures, the palace is at risk of collapse at any time. In order to maintain the stability of the palace, "Besa" regularly holds game parties here and broadcasts these scenes to increase the desires of the shadows. By some strange combination of circumstances, the protagonist and Ruferu came to this palace and participated in the "push piece" game that was being held." Rin and Riddle will be the banner characters

1.3.3 (June 20, 2024 - July 4, 2024) will add chapter 3 of the collab (the "Banking chapter"): "With the help of Yusuke, the protagonist and his party successfully captured the core of the palace, but strangely the palace did not collapse. A thought I had about Evil Matilda was on the lines of her thinking she is awful, and her being quiet (calling herself Matilda the Disgraceful), when in actuality everyone loves and admires her. But even then, she takes it as people faking it, thinking they're just pitying her...

I think that was my line of thought before, well, I forgot 😔

But yeah, Evil Matilda would have a very low image of herself. She's nobody, and she's nothing more than a disgrace to the Bouanich. She's humble due to this line of thought.

"I'm not good at anything so why would I be mean?" And so she's quiet, she's trying to just be.

She's polite and really kind, "You're doing good!", "you're amazing" and so many more praises directed at others, when directed at her, she's not like her other self

"This? Oh, I'm not that good at divination, I only follow the rules"

"My grades are not that good, Sonetto is better than me in everything"

"I'm not the greatest, I'm only Matilda. And, I'm not good at anything."

But people like her, they're kind to her and are always pushing it to trust herself. Matilda doesn't think of it this way. To her they're just pitying her for being the worst Bouanich in her family, the disgrace, the mediocre one

It's quite sad either way. People don't like OG Matilda for being too annoying and proud but she does it as a way to protect herself. People like this other Matilda who doesn't think they even see her and are only looking at her because of the disgrace she is to her last name.

Matilda has so much angsty potential to exploit
