did this as a quick scribble at like 1 AM last night and...immediately lost all motivation to ever clean it up. ( ᐛ ) but I had to draw my son being the fanciest little flower boy who ever threw petals down an aisle. oh my god.

Treasure Planet concept art
Source: Disney Fandom Wiki
Concept artist(s) unknown, I tried google reverse image search but only ended up back at the fandom wiki.
#treasure planet#concept art#films#2000s#disney#while I'm skeptical about info & images from fandom wikis these drawings do look legit#several of them have the very early more human-ish designs that you can see in other pieces of concept art#and also??? it's so cool to see how some of them imitate the 2d style of the final movie!! so cool!#treasure planet 2002#jim hawkins#captain amelia#dr delbert doppler#john silver#if anyone knows another source for these images please let me know!

So, you wanna prep for Lostbelt 6 by reading a bunch of fairy lore for background information. Luckily for you, I’m a turbo nerd when it comes to this particular brand of folklore. In this post I’ll be compiling links to assorted text and audio sources of information and entertainment related to all the real-world fairy lore that pops up throughout the chapter. I’m gonna try to avoid just wikipedia links as much as possible, so some of the text sources are gonna be a little dense, but that’s ye olde texts for you. This will be semi-ongoing as things pop up, so you can keep an eye out if you want!
Note: I’ll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but there will be possible spoilers as to what’s in the chapter ahead, so watch out!
Without further ado, here’s the list under the cut:
HUGE MASSIVE CONTENT WARNING: Many of these texts are going to have adult themes and triggering content, particularly sexual assault, rape, and general non-consent in romantic or sexual relationships. I’m going to start including individual warnings for texts where I know it comes up, but even if I don’t note it, please proceed with caution and take care!
A Dictionary of Fairies: Hobgoblins, Brownies, Bogies, and Other Supernatural Creatures by Katharine Mary Briggs - Exactly what it sounds like on the tin. Here’s where you can read about all the different fairies and creatures that tend to be more in short folktales, from baobhan sith to barghests to Ainsel and beyond, all in alphabetical order. If you find a fairy name you want to look up, it’s probably going to be in here somewhere.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare - I mean c’mon man. C’mon. There could always be a first for someone though, so if you are that someone - this is the most famous work featuring Oberon the fairy king, and the big one that F/GO and basically all other post-Billy Shakes media works pulls from. If you’d rather watch a staging of the play instead of read a script, here are some performances by Rice University and the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival, and if those two in particular aren’t your jam I guarantee you there’s going to be a staging somewhere you can watch. As a bonus, here’s an absolutely lovely musical arrangement of “Philomel, With Melody” (AKA the lullaby Titania’s fairy servants sing to her) by the band Caprice. It’s not the most relevant, I just want to share it because it’s nice. WARNING: The crux of the play revolves around a love potion plot, so there will be themes of manipulation, non-consent, and potential sexual assault played for laughs and romance. It’s arguably mild compared to some of the other texts on here, but I would still be careful!
Translations of Melusina (Melusine) stories by D. L. Ashliman - D. L. Ashliman’s got a massive online treasure trove of folktales and folktexts, it’s always a fun time to go on a rabbit hole through his(their?) site. If you want stuff specifically relevant to Melusine though, here’s the page for her.
Versions of the Tam Lin ballad compiled at Tam Lin Balladry - this one’s going to be relevant because of the extremely high likelihood that NA will follow the JP merch labels and localize the “Fairy Knight” title as Tam Lin. Because it’s a ballad, there’s plenty of audio versions put to song, the most textually accurate one I can currently find being by Bob Hay & The Jolly Beggars. Besides that however, there are also versions by Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, Tricky Pixie, and my personal favorite, the one by Anaïs Mitchell of Hadestown fame and Jefferson Hamer. If you want a more standard audio adaptation, the Tales of Britain and Ireland podcast will have you covered. WARNING: The start of the ballad is explicitly about sexual assault, with Tam Lin having been a rapist prior to meeting Janet. Janet’s own encounter is usually portrayed as consensual, she’s apparently a weirdo who heard the warnings and went “So that means FREE SEX?”, but some later versions do change her encounter into rape as a bizarre way of censoring her having sex out of wedlock. In addition, the ballad deals with themes of abortion. Basically, if any of this stuff is a trigger for you, I would proceed with extreme caution if you choose to listen or read.
Habetrot and Scantlie Mab - an archived version of a fairy tale about Habetrot. For similar stories, search for stuff under the Aarne-Thompson-Uther index type 501, “The Three Spinning Old Women”.
Historia Regum Britanniae (The History of the Kings of Britain) by Geoffrey of Monmouth - Now this one may not seem immediately obvious in its relevance outside of “hey look, Arthuriana!”, but trust me, This Is A Surprise Tool That Will Help Us Later. The relevant parts are going to start at Book 6, with Vortigern’s shenanigans. There’s also a podcast audio adaptation by Myths & Legends, split into part A, part B, and part C, if you would prefer that.
Official website for Knocknarea, or Cnoc na Riabh - Knocknarea is a big ol’ hill in Ireland with a bunch of Neolithic cairns on it, the most famous of which is claimed to be Queen Medb’s tomb. For anything else related to Medb, go read the Tain.
The Wikipedia page for Cernunnos - this is the point where I have to give up on not linking wikipedia, alas, as the sources here are little too tiny and scattered. Cernunnos is a Celtic god from Gaul, he’s got horns, we’ve got his name and some archaeological depictions of him, and that’s basically it, because unfortunately no stories about him survived. If I can find a better source about him to link, I’ll drop it here.
Le Morte d’Arthur by Sir Thomas Mallory, Volume I and Volume II - Not including this initially was a huge oversight on my part, but this is pretty much The text for general Arthuriana and one of the really big ones that Fate takes influence from. You can read this for stuff about Morgause and Morgan, but it’s also just good to have on hand for anything with the Round Table in general.
I’ve also got a bunch of podcast episodes that don’t really fit in with any of the above that I’ll list here if anyone wants more dank audio content:
Robin Goodfellow: His Mad Pranks and Merry Jests by Tales of Britain and Ireland - Relevant if you want some alternative tales of Puck and Oberon. WARNING: The episode itself covers its warnings pretty good, but before you click - there’s a lot of adult content in this one, including the thumbnail image. Most of the stories adapted are going to get pretty bawdy even at best, and there’s one that explicitly involves an attempted rape that the titular character thwarts. Proceed with caution, and also maybe don’t listen in public.
Black Dogs and Englishmen: Black Shuck in English Folklore and The Barguest: Demon Dog, Silly Sprite or Spectral Hound?, both by Fabulous Folklore with Icy - Listen to these two if you want more info on barghests.
Scottish Halloween & Vampire Fairy Witches by Stories of Scotland - Listen to this if you want a retelling of a story involving the baobhan sith along with other Scottish traditions!
And that’s all I’ve got for right now! If I find any more relevant sources, or if someone directs me to said sources, I’ll be sure to add links to this post. Until then, happy reading and listening, and I hope everyone has fun with LB6!
#fate grand order#note: from what i've seen i'm like 90% sure katharine briggs is a perfectly respectable scholar of fairy lore#but if it turns out there's something wild i don't know then at the very least she's probably nasu's source#everything else is as legit as I can get right now#briggs is the most comprehensive of the bunch so if you only have time for one i'd recommend her book#but there's nothing wrong with dipping into a bunch of the others i've provided

bllk sometimes genuinely reads like part shonen sports manga, part psychological manga, and part self-improvement book
#fangirling for a bit but hey this blog exists for it#some things ego said i have found in self improvement books im not even kidding#the wordings are a bit different but the main idea is there#i could also raise that it is a very “grind” and competitive philosophy that is very traditionally masculine in some parts B U T hey#im not here to make an essay I GRADUATED IM NOT MAKING ESSAY ABOUT MEDIA ANALYSIS FOR A WHILE but boy#bllk is packed and is a really good source to analyze about tbh. if you try to break it down and make it a good paper it is legit possible#it has its flaws but knsr's foreshadowing and consistency in many parts are amazing storytelling wise#many mangas and media do this but honestly. you can start busting out papers and books to analyze bllk and it will work#from chekov's gun to many others#and nmr's art skgskjgsdjfh man. mannnnnn#babblings#okay back to work hahahahah enough procrastinating i miss reading i miss writing

Here have this at 10PM
Okay not married in this one but there's no way Jason wouldn't have learned about this kinda early on so it makes sense
Jason became shockingly familiar with “turtle” noises.
He couldn’t correctly call them turtle noises because he’d done his research. Turtles did make a variety of sounds, but for the most part the mutation—along with learning to speak human language—kept his boyfriend and his brothers from sounding like they would normally.
Not that they were completely without their strange sounds. Raph would frequently hiss when he was frightened. Leo made a bunch of strange chirps when he was annoyed—and thought no one was watching. And Mikey had a whole list of squeaks that he’d let out when he was excited or happy.
Donnie had his own list of strange noises, though most of them Jason just chalked up to his brand of weirdness. Every single emotion seemed to have its own designated sound to go with it. Hisses, growls, squeaks, squawks, snorts, and everything in between.
Jason got used to these noises. After eight months he’d gotten pretty good at deciphering them even. There goes the, “Donnie took a bite of something he doesn’t like” noise. That was the, “Donnie is straining himself to reach for a tool because he’s too lazy to get out of his chair” noise. And how could they ever forget the bizarre giggling sound that occurred when a new invention finally worked.
After eight months, Jason assumed he’d heard it all.
But then…
He definitely didn’t do it on purpose. He left the lab to grab some snacks and some drinks and returned to see Donnie focusing on nothing but sliding two small bits of metal together. Jason approached from behind, watching for a bit before he leaned over to place the juice box on the desk.
The motion made Donnie jump, and as he did he squeaked.
Not a typical human gasp or shriek in the slightest. No. It had the same loud and drawn out noise as a windshield wiper on a dry windshield.
Jason stared at him, eyes wide.
“Jase, be more careful.” Donnie shook his head, acting casual like that insane noise hadn’t just left his throat. “These pieces are delicate.”
Jason just kept staring, the sound looping in his memory as if to burn it into place.
Donnie finally noticed his stare and lifted his goggles. “What?”
“Did you just make that noise?”
He narrowed his eyes. “What noise?”
“That squeak, when I surprised you.”
“Scoff, like you haven’t heard me squeak a dozen times.”
“Not like that!” Jason insisted. He put down his own drink and the bag of chips. Could he recreate the sound? He had to at least try.
At least after eight months he knew how to make the softshell jump.
Even easier to do when Donnie reached for the juice box. Jason lightly poked him under the shoulder right where his scales gave way to his plastron.
Donnie squeaked again. The same noise, though much shorter this time.
“Oh my god,” Jason gasped.
“Will you knock it off!” Donnie swatted at his hand. “It’s not that strange.”
“You sound like a windshield wiper!”
“Rude, like humans don’t make their own weird noises.”
Jason would have argued that, only to get interrupted by a jab to the same spot. A high pitched squeak escaped his throat and he scrambled back before his boyfriend could try again.
“See? You sound like a dehydrated mouse.”
Jason glared. “What does that even mean?”
Donnie smirked at him. “Tiny voice but with a hint of gravel.”
He rolled his eyes and dared approach close enough to take his juice back. “Sorry for being curious when my boyfriend makes a sound I haven’t heard before.”
“You really haven’t?” Donnie tilted his head. “It’s not like I hide it.”
“You tend to make a lot of other squeaky noises. Just what’s up with that one?”
“A remnant from my time as a turtle, I believe.” He lowered his goggles again and got back to work. “At least based on what little I could dig up. Turtle noises are not commonly recorded.”
Jason sipped at his juice and finally plopped down in the other swivel chair. “So red sliders also chirp?”
“When they’re distressed, yes. Leo’s embarrassed of that one, but he never kicked the habit.” Donnie chuckled and then hunched over on his desk, his face inches from the metal he was working with.
Jason scooted over, making sure he was loud about it this time before he lifted his legs and rested them on Donnie’s lap. The softshell didn’t push him off, so he stayed there and opened the bag of chips.
Donnie held out a hand toward him. Jason extended the bag, letting his boyfriend dig out a few chips to munch on before resting it back on his lap and taking a few himself.
“So, how much more of this do you have to work on?”
“It will be less if you don’t interrupt me again.” Donnie stuck his tongue out as he attempted again to fit the metal together.
“Fine, but when this is done we’re watching a movie.”
Donnie chuckled. “Does the dragon crave cuddle time?”
“Watch it, I can kick you in the chin from here.”
“Yes yes, movie after. Now let me work!”
Jason stopped talking, at least, but he crinkled the bag a lot when he reached in for some more chips and made sure to crunch on them extra loud.
“Jase,” Donnie hissed. “Please.”
“Fine,” he grumbled with his mouth full. He ate his chips quieter, thinking through the silence.
Just what exactly would it take to get Donnie to make that hilarious noise again?
#scribbly fics#jasonnie#rottmnt#my hcs on turtle noises are a lot different than common fanon#that is to say based on their sizes they can't really make the noises they would at turtle size#but that doesn't mean the habit isn't there#also noises can be very specific to turtle species#snappers are fairly vocal#I don't have any source noises for box turtles yet tho#but I did legit find the one for the softshell#and yes it sounds like a windshield wiper it's hilarious#and red sliders do chirp but like it says only when distressed#so I love to think when Leo's stressed out or annoyed#he's just making all these noises under his breath#but ALSO thanks to mutated turtle nonsense#they can also make some NEW noises#like Raph making those DEEP noises that gators can#tbh I don't think people get crazy enough with it#anyway putting that ramble away

Except now we also have to contend with 'AI' (Machine learning) aggregates that make it even harder to find the Thing you need, because most the search results now are cloaked info-barfers that are just ouroboros-ing information tidbits that have a 50/50 or so chance of being even kinda right, so who knows if the Thing that you've been presented with even is the Thing.
This is especially frustrating when dealing with incredibly niche medical/surgical/biological information for what should be obvious reasons. You'll get a result, sure, but you'll need to spend an extra hour or so to make sure you don't end up in the hospital just because a formerly useful resource is now run by bots.
People are definitely going to die because of this.
"every possible kind of content can be found on the internet" yeah sure except for the One fucking thing I'm looking for. why does no one want to talk about the One Singular thing I'm looking for. but yeah other than that everything is on here.
#I mean I don't put all my eggs in internet search result baskets of course#but y'know sometimes it'd be nice to not have to go get an actual catalog to see what kind of poison something is#or how to do some kind of procedure#nowadays your best bet for accurate information is somehow reddit#crowdsourced info can have bad apples but bot sourced info is pretty much half meh apples and half rocks painted like apples#thankfully most people don't need to know how to do minor field surgery but most people have money#and/or access to doctors and proper vets#now; *I* know what I'm doing for the most part; but the next person who finds themself needing to learn might find it harder than I did#and disclaimer I don't make real surgery a habit; sibling and I have got debridement routine down pat#dead flesh isn't surgery but we follow similar protocols#with pretty good results so far if I do say so myself#had a hen with a nasty lookin pressure sore on her chest; is currently pretty much completely healed and fat and happy and warm all winter#cause she's been of service keeping my hen with balance issues company#rather wish I had process photos of that wound cause I think we did pretty darn good#it looked real gnarly at first#and I didn't find a ton of info online on it so it was pretty much 'welp we'll do what I'd do if it was me and keep a close eye on her'#btw hydrochlorous acid appears to be a legit fuckin godsend#done lots of research on it and actual trustworthy studies and shit have confirmed it's like both the gentlest and strongest anti-microbial#stuff's the shit#been using it on everything for years as vetricyn cause there's just. not a lot out there for farm animal care. but now I just get it from#the chemical manufacturer and it's so nice to have around#been using that for flushes for a good while; always seems to work great knock on wood#plus hey it's a good face cleanser#anyway#I am very tired#what else is new

Oh, before I forget
I (🦊) tried to like. Headspace shit. And I ask 👑 stuff bc we're all so obsessed with him ig 🙄 (He honestly stands out the most, even tho he like. Never or rarely fronts.)(It's cuz he's british /t /j)
But yeah I asked him smth and he like. Bro did a shush gesture. I dont even remember what I asked??? But it was smth when we were gonna ask if he wanted out, like. Try and TALK and see if he was interested in fronting (since everyone wants him out 🙄). But yeah no.
This version we have in our head just likes to be a cheeky bastard sometimes ig =_= Even tho most of the time he. Like... isn't.
Also thinking about if we tried to use music as a trigger for him (which like doesnt work), it would have to be something at a slower pace, lower bpm or smth. Most of us can't rlly handle anything slow though. Probably related to adhd or some shit idfk
Idk man.
#sepiasys.txt#I am so serious telling you that we/I dangle a daydream-ish scene of writing to coax this fucker out#Not like it'd work very well but yeah we're. Very much visual when it comes to our wants and desires and stuff internally? Idk#We often just WANT to do smth and so that plays in our mind first. Like it starts hypothetical; unless its an impulse for the fronter ig idk#But yeah our wants and stuff get communicated via MAINLY images. Hypotheticals. Daydreams of what we want to do as if we WERE doing it#So when I dangle this scenario; it is in fact to tempt you. It's to take an interest of yours and try to bring out a strong enough interest#in it or desire for it that you eventually front. Yes this is how I imagine triggers work when it comes to intentional fronting (atleast us)#<- /pf#OH YEAH SOMETHING HAPPENED RANDOMLY. INTRUSIVE THOUGHT OR INTRUSION THAT WAS SO RANDOM AND BRIEF!?!?#It was about 👑 and/or his source. and it was smth incredibly abstract as a concept; like more abstract than most things like that?#Which makes it even harder to pin down what it was. But SOMETHING about it was attractive/hot in some way??? I dont get it tbh.#It was weird as FUCK to get slapped in the face with that imagery AND feeling manifesting in the body.#Btw I genuinely dont get why he's here. I legit drew myself (shittily; in pen) asking him what the point/purpose of him was#And like the response? Looking up from smth he was doing like 'hm?' >:|#Like dude what the FUCK are you doing in here. Is it purely a relationship thing??? Is it to be a caretaker??? FUCKING FIGURE IT OUT!?!?#I WANT AN ANSWER!!!#Anyways I'm like tired. I wanna lowkey switch out to someone else rlly bad. Ideally not 🎭🃏 or 🌼 or the mystery valley girl#Purely because they usually have energy or require it to exist. Expending it when we have none 🙄 I mean I do the same but only cuz anger.#And I can still be like. Generally annoyed and quiet and chill and a bitch. I dont NEED to use up a whole lot of energy to be a bitch.#God 👑 would be so nice bc like. Ok it's probably bc smth about him is an 'ideal' to us. Or smth. Someone to BE ADMIRED. Sorta.#I wouldnt mind one of the less preferred coming out either bc yk. About to sleep. 🪶 is fine. 🌿 is fine. Even if they like. Usually have#a bad time in front. Y'all have permission to just chill when we're tired as fuck bc yall could probably use the comfort of sleep.#☕️ idgaf about if they came out or not. 👁️🪽 would be odd but not usually a problem either afaik??? idk.#I usually have a rough time tryna leave as well; btw. Like 🎭🃏 was strugglin? Valley girl ass was strugglin? Yeah it's hard to switch out but#it's still possible. Just requires… a certain type of effort? ig? its hard but possible and likely replicable.#Anyways fuck y'all (/nsrs) I'm goin to bed. [insert middle finger]

well. we were going to try out some new New Member Protocols with this new guy but. whoops! speedran it anyways,
#we were going to like. bc this headmate and their partner formed reeeeeeally slowly#they were legit both taking like months to form we don't even interact with their source anymore#so we thought ok let's introduce them to everything very slowly and see how that fares and if that's easier for some people#so that we better know how to handle new members that don't exactly fit into our usual in-sys stereotypes#we have so many members that we've started noticing Stereotypes of our system in particular#these wouldn't count as stereotypes to any other sys but we for sure have enough of that genre of guy for it to be labelable#but if someone ends up Different to those we tend to know how to help them less#bc we're autistic and we run off scripts#so we were testing out some new scripts that work at a more relaxed pace#bc these guys forming so slow like. they usually do that to avoid getting overwhelmed with info? at least they have in the past#or just. slowly acclimating#we wanted to give them gradual time to be Aware of the rest of the sys#but then Aloy accidentally spilled the beans and started talking abt headspace rules and things#she Forgor#to be fair. aloy didn't know this new member was tuned into headspace enough to Hear The Conversation#bc she was talking to Helios not the new person. and like. we were in paracosm at first#and usually with NPCs they stay in paracosm when we jump to headspace to talk. it's like paracosm just pauses time when we do that#none of us realised she was attuned to headspace enough to get dragged along for that conversation#it was a total accident on everyone's part nobody knew that would happen yet#so. now this newbie is fully aware of the outerworld and all that#the outerworld is usually the last thing we become aware of#unless it's like. starting from the opposite end. getting frontstuck before even knowing who you are yet

I am very wary of people going "China does it better than America" because most of it is just reactionary rejection of your overlord in favor of his rival, but this story is 1. absolutely legit and 2. way too funny.
US wants to build an AI advantage over China, uses their part in the chip supply chain to cut off China from the high-end chip market.
China's chip manufacturing is famously a decade behind, so they can't advance, right?
They did see it as a problem, but what they then did is get a bunch of Computer Scientists and Junior Programmers fresh out of college and funded their research in DeepSeek. Instead of trying to improve output by buying thousands of Nvidia graphics cards, they tried to build a different kind of model, that allowed them to do what OpenAI does at a tenth of the cost.
Them being young and at a Hedgefund AI research branch and not at established Chinese techgiants seems to be important because chinese corporate culture is apparently full of internal sabotage, so newbies fresh from college being told they have to solve the hardest problems in computing was way more efficient than what usually is done. The result:
American AIs are shook. Nvidia, the only company who actually is making profit cause they are supplying hardware, took a hit. This is just the market being stupid, Nvidia also sells to China. And the worst part for OpenAI. DeepSeek is Open Source.
Anybody can implement deepseek's model, provided they have the hardware. They are totally independent from DeepSeek, as you can run it from your own network. I think you will soon have many more AI companies sprouting out of the ground using this as its base.

What does this mean? AI still costs too much energy to be worth using. The head of the project says so much himself: "there is no commercial use, this is research."
What this does mean is that OpenAI's position is severely challenged: there will soon be a lot more competitors using the DeepSeek model, more people can improve the code, OpenAI will have to ask for much lower prices if it eventually does want to make a profit because a 10 times more efficient opensource rival of equal capability is there.
And with OpenAI or anybody else having lost the ability to get the monopoly on the "market" (if you didn't know, no AI company has ever made a single cent in profit, they all are begging for investment), they probably won't be so attractive for investors anymore. There is a cheaper and equally good alternative now.
AI is still bad for the environment. Dumb companies will still want to push AI on everything. Lazy hacks trying to push AI art and writing to replace real artists will still be around and AI slop will not go away. But one of the main drivers of the AI boom is going to be severely compromised because there is a competitor who isn't in it for immediate commercialization. Instead you will have a more decentralized open source AI field.
Or in short:

2,300-Year-Old Plush Bird from the Altai Mountains of Siberia (c.400-300 BCE): this artifact was crafted with a felt body and reindeer-fur stuffing, all of which remains intact
This stuffed bird was sealed in the frozen barrows of Pazyryk, Siberia, for more than two millennia, where a unique microclimate enabled it to be preserved. The permafrost ice lense formation that sits just beneath the barrows provides an insulating layer, preventing the soil from heating during the summer and allowing it to quickly freeze during the winter; these conditions produce a separate microclimate within the stone walls of the barrows themselves, thereby aiding in preservation.
This is just one of the many well-preserved artifacts that have been found at Pazyryk. These artifacts are attributed to the Scythian/Altaic cultures.
#Art#I was skeptical since it is very easy to misattribute things but no this is legit#And fantastically done#...oh people already sourced it in replies... whops

none of this is new info, but you know I have the "loves to write lists and compile links" disposition, so I thought it might be helpful to share some of the tips I've seen about how to make sure you're sharing legitimate palestinian evacuation fundraisers and bundle all those tips into a single handy reference post.
this is a spreadsheet of legitimate ("vetted") fundraisers on tumblr.
this post explains how the people who maintain this spreadsheet confirm the legitimacy of each fundraiser they add.
this podcast episode ("yousef and the fourth move") explains why evacuation fundraisers are often organized by people who don't live in gaza and/or who may not be immediate relatives of the people trying to evacuate. it's part three of a series about a man named yousef and his family; parts one and two aren't required listening for part three to make sense, but if you have a few hours to spare then I wholeheartedly recommend listening to all of them.
this is the process that I personally have been using to check whether a particular fundraiser has been vetted:
spreadsheet method
open the vetted fundraisers spreadsheet.
inside this spreadsheet, open the "find..." menu. on a windows computer, this shortcut is ctrl+F. on a mac, this shortcut is cmd+F. on a mobile device, click the three dots menu in the upper right corner of your screen, then select Find and replace.
search for the last name of the person or family in the fundraiser. you may get several results because last names obviously aren't unique; keep hitting "next" until you've looked at all the results.
if you find an entry in the spreadsheet that has the exact same name and whose gofundme link leads to the same fundraiser associated with the blog, it's legitimate. if you don't find an entry in the spreadsheet that matches the blog's fundraiser, that does not mean it's a scam. try the next method below!
tumblr search method
copy the username of the tumblr who originally posted the fundraiser and/or sent you a message asking you to boost the fundraiser. (for example, username123)
paste this username into tumblr's search bar.
for best results, click the All types drop-down menu, then select Text. since the search page is often dominated by asks sent by username123 (which people then answer and tag with their username), this helps narrow things down a bit.
look to see if any people who are not username123 have made posts confirming that username123 is legitimate. this includes people who've reblogged fundraisers and added notes, people who've compiled masterlists, and people sharing hyperlinks to other posts confirming a fundraiser's legitimacy. if the message seems to be "yep, looks legit," then it's safe to assume it's legit.
this is not a comprehensive list, but here are some of the usernames I've seen associated with "yep, looks legit"-type posts and who I've come to trust by association. (disclaimers: I am not mutuals with any of the users, and not all of them do the vetting firsthand, but the ones who don't vet posts themselves still seem to be careful about what they share and therefore are a good lead to follow. also, don't bug these people to vet fundraisers for you unless they've specifically indicated that they're open to that.)

neither of these methods yielded anything definitive; what now?
it may just be too early to tell. unless a trusted source has shared overwhelming evidence that a particular fundraiser is a scam (which seems to be a very very rare occurrence), the best thing you can do is ignore it. don't report their blog as spam, because there's a good chance it's a legitimate fundraiser who just hasn't been vetted yet.
