Gabriel (gah-bree-ELL, but people often call him GAY-bree-uhl, it annoys him) was born in France (1938, if AM took over in 1967) to an upper-middleclass family. When he was around a year old he was sent to live with his grandparents in the Ivory Coast during WW2, as his parents decided it'd be safer if he was in Africa, even if he was still under the Vichy regime.

By the time the war ended, he wanted to stay in the Ivory Coast. Once he was older, he worked by renting out land, both for farming and living.

Pre-AM he was very cruel and sadistic, and enjoyed making people feel scared. He was 29 when AM took over.

Looks-wise he was 5"8 and around 118lbs. Outfit is inspired by the comic book.

In AM he was manipulative to the others, and especially Ellen (ex. he would convince Ellen to give him her food when AM fed them)

preface : WWII stuff and all that goes with it

her name is mathilde lazuech, but she hasn’t gone by that name in decades. she almost exclusively goes by “(le) corbac” (that being a popular/slang term for a raven in french) or “raven”. don’t let her face fool you, she’s old as shit.

she was born on june 13th 1922 (happy belated birthday to her) and what made her That Way is sensibly what  happened to steve, she got serum’ed up and now she’s immortal until someone kills her.

she didn’t volunteer for serum or anything, she was a young girl minding her fucking business in southern france, being a tomboy and working at the farm, until she found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time (which.... seems to be a recurrent theme with quite some of my ocs). 

since she was unresponsive at first, she was left for dead, woke up to Paris being in the nazis’ hands, which she. didn’t quite like.

she realized she had gained some strength (she didn’t know to what extend yet) so she joined the local Résistance (rural + mountainy southern France was quite the Résistance hub because good luck getting through them mountains if you’re not from the region idiot)

doing her Résistant thing she got captured one day and was schedule to be executed. when the nazis shot her, she realized she... didn’t die. she just didn’t. the bullet ricocheted off her and fell to the ground. that’s when she started to realize the serum Did something.

she got back to her résistants group, all were “what the FUCK is happening” and she only got deeper into it. 

she started passing as a young boy more often than not and did what résistants do, including helping people across the Pyrénées to escape the gestapo + régime de vichy persecution, blow up trains filled with nazis when they tried to get deeper into southern France, she threw a few trains off their tracks by stopping them head-fucking-on after realizing she literally was stronger than one, this type of thing (we love overpowered mary-sues in this land)

she just kinda lived this life, having war trauma after war trauma piled up on her back, realized she couldn’t sleep like a normal human, became depend to heavy tranquilizers that she had to create herself to catch a single hour of sleep. unlike steve who got himself frozen, she got to lived every minute of every waking hour. she lived through the cold war, vietnam war, the 21st century. 

she’s just a ball of war trauma who never got to romantically love and be romantically loved and likely never will because shes 97 but looks 18 and has since the end of war just. done stuff. build and repair stuff. she knows some stuff about 1940s/50s/60s vehicles. she dabbles in informatics and programming, made an unstable AI (Jarvis-like) named Alice to keep her company. 

since all of my daydreams/daydreaming universes interlap she’s got company.

she loves coffee and all of the starbucks employees down the street know her.

in my daydreams she and The Gang meet because the smithsonian is having an exhibit about french/englis forces and her face’s on here. she’s hanging out in the museum with friends at the same moment as st*ve and b*cky and when her friends point at her face in the window and go “that you” she goes “yeah” and st*ve goes “hold on are you?” and they kinda try to find her after that.

she’s close to these two because like. grandpas gang.

she tries to be like kind and all with people but she’s deeply aloof (war does that to people) and would be the kind of person to bark “what the fuck are you doing” before the other replies “that’s a hug. i’m hugging you.” her displays of affection are mostly sharing her coffee (shes got an old ass aluminium kettle that survived war and cups to match) and slapping your shoulder a bit too hard.

tl;dr war traumatized butch on her killing nazis business since1940 meets other grandpas and struggles with expressing affection

so i have a question regarding one of my ocs, their backstory is that they helped the schnee company locate mines because their semblance allows them to detect heat signatures, and that includes the signatures of dust so in exchange for the company paying for their schooling they would find places to make new mines, theyre also a faunus and had a lot of conflicting feelings about this but justified it as the company would find other mines, basically theyre a collaborator if u will, and i was

thinking of making their last name either vichy or the last name of one big collaborators in the french gov as their first name is feu the french word for fire, but now im beginning to wonder if that would be inappropriate, esp after you guys pointed out the similarities between faunus and jewish people and idk i guess i just want a second and third opinion?? thank u for ur time!

i honestly don’t see anything inappropriate with this, especially since it’s been shown that faunus do rise & contribute in oppressive structures & that’s something that’s happened in the show & other materials. i love these ideas, especially the whole semblance & sensing heat signatures? tying that to their name with feu  /  fire & the big collaborators in the french government, it sounds gucci ! have fun ♥
