'Soft-Countriana' style bathroom designed by Anne Cooper (year unknown)
"A luxurious Victorian theme and mood are established with the romantic lavender hue in this delicate bathroom suite. The complex authentic trim and openwork are featured with gleaming white that contrasts against the soft lavender wall pattern. Brass fixtures shine like jewelry and every color detail has been carefully planned to increase the effect of this regenerating space."
Scanned from the book, 'The Kitchen & Bath Color Book' by Melanie & John Aves (1999)

Here's something I stumbled on, and I'd never heard of creating a "Content House" or "Maximal Victorian Meets Retro." Here are before and after's of a client's home designed by Danielle Nagel.

Isn't this cheerful? I love the mix of thrifted pieces.

Look at the fireplace, now. I like how she put a mantel over it.

This is so clever. It doesn't look like the same house, yet no reno was done- it's just paint, wallpaper, and decor.

The kitchen's makeover.

Some of the details.

I like how she incorporated green into the shades of blue & gray.

I'm almost sure that she had the stove painted. Well, maybe it'll last b/c they didn't do the cook top. My cousin had it done and the top chipped.

Here's a great example of turning a plain, featureless, boring box of a room into a room with character and architectural interest. Plus, color, texture, and pattern.

And, look at what this tiny lackluster room became. I never thought of taking, like, IKEA bookcases and painting them different colors.

Lovely guest room. This is so pretty.

A small bedroom becomes a dressing room.

Very retro rec room.

This has to be the grooviest fireplace I've ever seen.

Well, here's to progress!
This is a late Regency/early Victorian estate.

Did Animal Crossing need an opium den? Absolutely not. Did I enjoy making one anyway? Absolutely yes 😂
