What would the gangs favourite foods be in modern times? I'll tell you

Juniper: Döner Kebab. She canonically likes spice and foreign foods (to her) and it's popular in germany i think so shed be reconnecting with her roots

Viktor: Redbull. It's like coffee but it goes harder, i know for a fact he would go crazy

Edward: those japanese cream sandwiches with cutely sliced fruits. Because he is a posh english bastard at heart and you know he loves his tea sandwiches

Helliot: Taco bell

Zachary: Honestly idk that guy would eat nails... I feel like hed enjoy jawbreaker and sour candy, just readily available intense snack foods

Sure thing!

So, the one soul theory (also called the OS theory) is this fan theory that's trying to provide an explanation for the un-deaths that happen within the series and the immortality of all the central characters.

Basically, what we know for sure to be canon is that as long as one member of the household is alive, all the others will come back to life eventually.

This, plus some canon writing has lead some people to theorise that the main six (Juniper, Maxwell, Viktor, Ed, Winifred and Helliot) are actually all sharing one soul.

Some also say that this soul is currently fragmented and shared literally within the group, although there's a lot of different thoughts on how or why this happened (lmk if I should make a detailed post about that!)

Its one of the most popular explainations for why the characters all are immortal and in parts pretty heavily supported by the text.

It's a bit too much to go into in one single post, so if you want me to go into detail on something, tell me what!

The ice pick paralells Viktors Letter opener, Katya and Sofia are basically just Juniper and Winifred, Edward is Goncharov, Andrei is Viktor. They even have that thing where people can't spell their names right (Andrei/Andrey and Viktor/Victor)

And the "The Sky Is Always Falling" fandom is so small despite it being such a good (and actually existing) piece of media and the vibe is so similar to Goncharov just... Victorian.

Some commonly used terms for newcomers in the fandom:

Letter opener duo/Letterduo/ LO duo - Viktor and Edward, mostly talking about them just as characters or platonically

Edvik - the ship between Edward and Viktor (canon, btw)

Poemduo/Poetduo - the friendship/relationship between Edward and Juniper

Scalpelduo/widowduo/the rivals - Viktor and Juniper stuff, usually widowduo is only about her whole husband thing

Hellduo - Winnie and Helliot as far as I understand it

Original trio - Junie, Viktor and Ed. Tbh?? All of them are originals

Haunty bois - Winnie and Viktor, named after the way they meet

Winiper - Ship between Winniefred and Juniper (also canon)

Hell to the Max - the ship between Helliot and Max bc that's a thing apparently????

Summary of the canon (?) Timeline

Ok so as we all know, tsiaf is still getting made, retconned and added to by the creators so this is probably gonna be outdated soon, but I'll try reblogging it with updates when we know more, some of this is also just my assumptions of what happened bc of what makes sense, etc, so take this with a grain of salt!!!

Act 1: (around 1890)

• Victor and Edward grow up together

• Victor is the (trans) son of a servant of Edwards dad

• Edward is also trans, Edwards dad is transphobic

• Victor runs away eventually, leaving only a letter

• the Letteropener is originally a gift from Victor to Ed so ed can cut his hair to be, yk, trans

(Eventually during this arc, Juniper marries and during the end of this arc, Max comes to London?)

Act 2 - around 1910-1920

• a few years later, Juniper, a young woman who has married rich, kills her husband and employs Victor as a doctor to help her with an alibi.

• he hesitantly complies

• at the funeral after-party, Victor meet Edward again

(Eventually during this arc, Victor and Juniper become enemies, Max and Edward become friends (???), Edward commits a murder with the help of the other three and at the end of this act, Victor kills Edward using the Letteropener)

Act 3 - 1920-1930ies

• Edward is buried and comes back - first revival

• theres a lot of grief and mourning and unsaid things between them all

• Victor k••ls himself out of guilt and comes back

• at an undetermined point, Winnifred joins the house

(Sometime during this arc, Juniper dies for the first time, that's the train story)

Act 4 - 1930ies until 1960ies

• Helliot finds the four of them and introduces himself

(Sometime during this act, Edward and Victor become comfortable again, Maxwell learns of his immortality, Victor and Juniper become begruding friends and Helliot gets fully introduced)

There was quite an awful lot of blood on his body. Even to him, a doctor, it seemed excessive. Perhaps it was something about immortality? Clearly, he had some sort of regenerative abilities, seeing as his wound had completely healed. He made a mental note to do some sort of testing on himself at a later date.

(1st Collection, Act 3, Story 4 - Victor)

Are we as a society ever gonna address that Viktor was just down to experiment on himself immediately after his first death or...?

Funny how the fandom loves to trip all over themselves saying how great it is that there's canon lesbian rep everywhere but somehow Edvik is still the ship with the most attention like hmmm ok just say you see them as mlm that you can obsess over and go

Literally every fandom is like this where the lesbian characters get way less attention and rep

I feel like I answered this before but I can't find it or didn't check enough, idk, I slept like 2,5 hours in the last two days lmao.

Anyway, for Juniper it's gotta be when she snaps at Viktor in like the middle of Act 3 about all of them just sorta "living past each other" (i posted the quote a few days ago or something).

Like, that's just such a powerful moment especially for her in my opinion because it shows her journey from being unattached to the others and therefore having no problem saying her opinions in the beginning (like when she absolutely roasts Viktor early on bc he accuses her of Edward related moral crimes) and shows how she's grown attached both to the house and the people in it but can't show that correctly yet.

In general, anything around her first death/the early deaths phase is cool because it shows how Juniper struggles with accepting this supernatural rythm more than the others, which is sickkkkk. It's just such a good theme and it jives so well with Winifreds themes too.

So, again, my thoughts aren't for this blog, but in terms of canon viability:

As far as I know, none of the creators are averse to poly ships, not even the CC of Juniper.

However, Juno has confirmed that Juniper the way she currently appears in the story would not be open to a poly relationship due to her past and upbringing and so it is only possible with her as a part of it in the future or a modern au, for which there's no content at this point.

Nothing else like this exists for other characters, iirec, so its a mostly feasible ship. It revolves mostly around the OG 3 + Winifred, which means its well developed characters with a lot of (in canon platonic) love for each other!
