Winter's father is mentioned only once, in chapter 68 of the novel (or chapter 63 of the manhwa).

All that is said is that Winter was still very young (I think around 18-22 years old) when he lost his father. Also, the good relationship between Winter and Duke Eckhart was explained by the fact that the duke was friends with the former Marquis Verdandi. But what was the cause of the elder Verdandi's death?

However... what if Winter's father died fighting the Laila clan? Could he also have been a sorcerer? Was he as ideological and charitable as his son?

Most people know what a powerful wizard Winter really is. But he couldn't have learnt everything on his own, could he? Someone had to guide him and teach him how to control magic. Could it have been his father or his wizard friends? According to Verdandi himself, people who have a lot of mana cannot be called wizards if they do not know how to control it.

Okay, I think Winter has taken a lot from his father, but I'm interested to hear your opinion on this and the interaction between the Duke and the past Marquis...

By the way, is Winter's mother dead too?

Listen, we need a separate post about Duke Eckhart. He's also an interesting character, but he doesn't have his own name.

Imagine, there are actually many details in the VADD universe that have not yet been fully revealed. Many characters were not revealed, even though they would have little impact on the plot.

honestly? most people in the fandom probably haven't thought of misono's mother in a long, long time before chapter 136 was released

but i DO remember that when the fandom did bring her up, either in fanfic as a real character, or when they joke about how mikado is too lame to have two women vying for him, they basically treated her as... in the same boat as kiriko? you know, the legal wife who was being cheated on?

and i can see the point of view here. an innocent, naive woman, blinded by love. the only one at fault is the man who was taking advantage of the two women.

the idea of mikado being able to seduce two women is certainly against the popular fanon that is recently confirmed canon that mikado is a Huge Loser but of course the fandom immediately clung to that idea first because of the letters in lust arc implying that she was just happy to be able to love him selflessly.

see, but even if that was true? even if misono's mom was in it for love and not for the money? she still chose to pursue a relationship with a married man. if she wasn't a gold digger then she would have been an incredibly dense woman who thought everything was permitted as long as it was done in the name of true love

which was my original thought! i thought she would be someone whose head was full of fluff and flowers without thinking of the consequences!

which makes the fandom exploding when lily told misono that her mother was an ambitious woman all along kind of. you know. kinda makes me wonder if the fandom was okay with the adultery because they thought it was out of pure love? like. the adultery?

if lily confirmed that misono's mom was a gentle and loving person, would the fandom instead weep for her passing and once again not give a damn that she was mikado's cheating partner? would kiriko have been painted as a tragic villain instead of a victim?

basically, the only reason im this annoyed is because of the popular fanon that misono's mom was a virtuous woman just because the aliceins never blamed misono for what she had done

Hamefura plot bunnies I'll probably never get the motivation to write

#1: In which Geoffrey is jealous of sharing the "big brother of Geordo and Alan" status with Nicol, thinking that the guy is going to take his beloved baby brothers away from him. In reality though, the real threat is Sophia, who's plotting to get two more big brothers under everyone's noses.

#2: Alan succumbed to his illness when he was very young, maybe around five or six years old. Geordo often sees the small ghost of the twin he never met wandering the halls, or playing that old piano stored in one of the castle towers.

#3: Several instances in which Alan acts a lot like a classic (Disney) princess, from singing to animals to being rescued by his knight in shining armor (either Mary or Katarina).

#4: Either Alan or Maria gets reversed isekai'd to Bakarina's previous world after a suspicious incident caused them to flatline. Could be crack or angst or both.

#5: Alan or Geordo as reincarnators who didn't come from Bakarina's previous world. (Honestly, so many possibilities, but my favorite one is a bit of a crossover with Fire Emblem Fates. In which the previous lives of the twins are two of the many children of the King of Nohr, Garon, to various women. They'd obviously be among the 99% who got offed during the infighting between siblings before the main story of the game takes place.)
