"Mama?" A young child's voice breaks through the silence of the night. The cold night wind is stiff as the moon and the stars dance through the night. They lay down on the meadow, the young child huddle close to her mother because of the warmth she gives . The night sky is full of stars are the only thing their eyes are looking at.

"Hm, what is it, starshine?" Her mother's voice perks up and makes the young girl looks at her direction yet her eyes continue to look at the stars.

"What's that one?" Her fingers traces a pattern in the night sky, her mother follows its direction till it stopped, "It looks like a bear...but its not the Big Dipper because that one is the Big dipper." She points at the Big Dipper on the opposite side.

Her mother ponders for a while. The Big dipper, a part of the constellation Ursa Major was not the one her daughter pointed out. The one her daughter pointed was on the other side, smaller, and upside down. Snapping away from staring at another constellation, her own mind traces the constellation her child pointed out. "Maybe its the Little Dipper?" She suggests to her child, "There is a bright star there. That's Polaris."

"That's me!" The child proclaims, their eyes shine with delight at the sound of their name. Polaris' mother laughs and pinches her cheek, "Yup. That's you alright. Now, how did you find the little dipper?"

"I was looking at the Big Dipper and then I saw an upside down one but smaller and since you're like super duper good with stars, I asked you."

Polaris' mother smiles with satisfaction, a beam of pride releases from her heart before she places a soft kiss on their forehead. "Good job, now let's play the constellation game, you love that game!"

Polaris yawns and cuddles closer to her mother again, "Mama...tired." Her mother stops to look at her young daughter, her eyes fluttering open and close as she stays silent. Her mother sighs before she adjusts and makes sure Polaris is alright before she scoops Polaris in her arms, her finger moves a strand of her hair that blocks her face.

"Do you want a story on the way back?" She whispers, her feet guides her back to the house, the stars got further away from them. Polaris grumbles in reply before she attempts to sleep, tossing and turning in her mother's arms. "Alright, let me tell you a story about The Big Dipper...Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young woman named Callisto."

She continues with her story, Polaris nestles in her arms as she opens the door to their small house that stands near a hill. The house is quiet, the light flickers on the small house they share.

She knows the story by heart, she was named after the character by her father, who was a navigator when he was alive. She continues to tell the story but left out several details too young for Polaris to understand.

Her footsteps fills the empty house as she gets up to the stairs to Polaris' room, her finger twists the door knob open.

It's a small room, with her bed and stuffed toy in the center, a small lamp that's place on top of a side table, and several toys and books lying around. The cabinet is in the opposite side of the room. The walls is painted a purple with accents of white and small glow-in-the-dark stars forming constellations like the stars in the sky.

"And then, she was taken to the sky where she became the Ursa Major. "She whispers softly and places Polaris on her bed, covering her with a blanket. Callisto kneels beside her daughter, and sighs, "She lives in the stars with many others and we see her and her little cub, Ursa Minor every night. Good night my little star." She places a small kiss on her daughter's forehead before she gets up and close the door behind her, leaving Polaris to dream on throughout the night.

A/N: Hello! Its been a while since I've written short stories. I decided to write a simple short story about a mother and her child, and stargazing. So yes, very cute and fluffy story. This idea came out of nowhere and I wanted an outlet so... Here is Dipper! I'll try to improve things. You can leave some feedback so long as its not insulting , I'd love to read it. 9. worst part of canon

Most obvious one would have to be the fact that this franchise of military propaganda has an incredibly harmful effect on a way-too-young, easily-influenced audience.

Hyperspecific, but the romanticisation of the Good Guys (aka dehumanisation of "the enemy", which again is propaganda).

The subsequent romanticisation of the game and western military institutions goes hand in hand with the propaganda aspect.

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

There are a few fics on AO3 for Fender, but fuck me does he deserve more. Joined the military because his father was a soldier and his mother would tell Fender stories about him? Loves his mum? C'mon, fandom, the man is top tier material.

Horangi, because I'm currently working on a fic for him and his voice actor seems like a great person.

Any of the Kortac women. Roze, Callisto and Stiletto are literally so cool, I'm swooning. Any female characters in CoD are underrepresented imo (if the fandom was able to get so much content out of König, who we literally know nothing about, I'm sure it'd be easy to do the same for the girls ^^)

Hate me for this if you must, but Hadir is such an interesting character. So many themes to be explored here omg

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

The belittling way people write König's anxiety. Not a König fan/writer myself, but goodness even I understand that he is not all "uwu im just a shy little baby pls be nice to me". He's MEAN. When he feels cornered, you best believe he lashes out with the intent to do damage.

Those dub-con (or outright rape) interrogation fics. I cannot find it in me to read sexual assault, but the things I've seen in some of the tags are astoundingly terrible, especially taking into consideration that this is what women, civillian and military, are experiencing on what is by all accounts a daily basis.

The animal-hybrid content(?) I struggle to understand the appeal of it (as well as the logistics, but that's a different discussion) in itself, just as I hate the characterisation happening in those fics. One can hardly call it characterisation at that: it's literally just soulless anime-porn with the character's name scribbled over it as a placeholder. The implied size/age difference irks me deeply, too. The reader inserts in a lot of these feel strongly minor-coded.

The CoD characters as fathers. Thats it, that's the point. They would not have kids, period.

I've requested for the Tag Wranglers to hopefully organize the tags on AO3, so we can find stories easily. The Old Guard AU Idea - Star Trek Edition

I am aware I haven't written fic for Any of my AU ideas yet, but uh... Star Trek! My OG fandom! Had to ramble a little right?

Andy is a Klingon. She's skilled in the art of battle and can drink enough blood wine in a single sitting to make an entire starship drunk. There's rumors that she is an exile from one of the Great Houses, but no one has ever asked her about it. At least, no one has asked and lived to tell the tale..

Quynh is a Romula, or a Vulcan, or perhaps she's human. She has pointed ears and can smile serenly while she kills you, so most people guess Romulan. In reality she is both Romulan and Vulcan, though the difference is neglible both societies view her as Other. The Vulcan High Council captures her fighting for the Klingons and lock her away. They expected the solitude to drive her to insanity. It does not.

Lykon is half-betazoid, half-bajoran and found by Andy and Quynh when his family is killed by Cardassians. They raise him to fight, and fight he does. Telepathy and a spear are all it takes for him to catch up to the Cardassian Gul who had given the order for his family's death.

Joe is Federation, a Trill from the north who has rejected the near worship of joined Trill on his homeland. He's lived on Earth and various colonies, but mostly, he's lived on spaceships. And now, he's got his own. The Billah is an Apollo-class transport ship.

Nicky is a Cardassian deserter. He met Joe during the war and came to the realization that his destiny was to loge this man, not destroy him. He is reviled by Cardassians as a traitor, a badge he wears with honor as he serves about Joe's ship as a medical officer. He's the first Cardassian to ever be accepted into the Federation, for which he has Joe's letter of recommend to thank.

Booker is Booker, he's a Frenchman, a former forger who hookee up with a former Federation systems engineer named Copley. When Joe recruits Andy to his ship as a security officer, she brought Quynh and Lykon along. She also handed him a pad with information on a few crafty travelers who might be helpful.

Joe is very charismatic and the Federation doesn't question his choice of crewman as long as he's successful for fear that he will turn that charisma on them. Every admiral crumbles beneath his dazzling smile. Everyone finds it very amusing. Except...

Nile Freeman. The new bridge officer is very confused by absolutely everything about this ship and her captain. She's Federation born and bred, her father was a first officer on the USS Callisto before it's destruction in a conflict with the Borg. She grew up on the Luna One colony and various freighter vessels after her father's death. Growing up on tales of her father and the famous Travis Mayweather there was no chance Nile Wasn't enrolling in the Academy. None of that prepared her for life aboard the Billah.

@callistochan87 would get in on it as well.  And in true Erin fashion, rather than finding some old fan art and redo that, I dug up some of my really early work to do.  Because I apparently like doing things backwards?

So.  So.  I’m not exactly sure when I did this originally, since the way the files are dated in my external hard drive suggests that a lot of my older pictures were imported from my ancient computer and never dated correctly.  The earliest I got was July 1999, and this was one was dated August 4, 1999, but there were a lot of files with the same timestamp for that day.  I do remember when I did it - sitting in the villa (?) we had rented in Missouri for my father’s college graduation.  So yes, this would have been done in the summer of 1999.  Just not sure of the actual date.

I wasn’t quite as young as @callistochan87 when she did the Princess Callisto piece.  I was 15 when I did the original.  But, it’s been far longer.  Twenty one freaking years almost.  I like her comment that she does art now that her younger self would have begged to have free art of (because, ya know, back in the early days of fandom, we could actually get away with that), and I love that sentiment.  Because it’s so true!

One of the reasons I chose this piece to do was simply because it was one of the first I could find that wasn’t traced.  I was a huge tracer back in the day.  But what’s really special about this one is that this was the very first time I attempted a male.  So it’s definitely a good way to show how far I’ve come!

Like with @callistochan87, I didn’t make this a 1:1 direct redo.  For one thing, I don’t know who the eff that guy is.  The file name calls him Justin.  I think he was an early love interest for Erin?  No idea.  So of course I couldn’t use him.  And since I do have current designs for my fan guardians, I figured I’d just use those designs.  Meaning they’re both in their Academy uniforms.  Which I suppose it’s that fair, because I can’t show how my fashion designing has changed, but...they don’t really have civilian outfits?  So...yeah.

I also technically should have done this is pencil, but screw it, merkers.  Merkers are fun.  But I think it’s funny that this piece is so old that I didn’t even use pens for the outline!  I used a black colored pencil! 

(Looking at it, maybe Justin was her brother?  God only knows...Erin does have a brother, but why would I draw him when I could draw Mr. Sourpuss over there?)

3. Dianna - the Crown Princess (and Denzals' twin) - whose magic centers around water and ice, though she finds ice more practical. Shes the brains of the operation (and also the most nosy, she knows EVERYONES business)

4. Tatyenn - one year older than B - whose magic centers around lightning. Shes been friends with B since they were children, before Tatyenn was knighted and B was sent to the Faith's for mage training.

5. Taera (named for the earth goddess Taera), B's best friend. They met during Mage training became so close that when B graduated and moved back home, Taera decided to follow. Her magic centers around the earth, she's very sturdy.

6. Unillustrated, but still very important, we have a member of the Fair Folk, the Prince of Summer, Xenrys. Hes a large, dark red scaled dragon, and is Denzal's most common form of contact with the Fair Folk. (They're secretly dating)

7. Zirka - a bug based shapeshifting alien from the planet Callisto! Their magic allows them to bare their soul as a shield, manipulate it to move things around, and get into other peoples minds

8. Kriit - Zirka's bonded other half! Their magic allows them to absorb other beings souls into their own and become them, rather than just shifting their appearance to look like someone else! They can also make a "copy" of the person's soul to keep preserved in case of further need.

9. Kairi - an alien stranded on the planet Taera - Separated from her mother and brother, she sails Taeras seas on the ghost ship The Vagabond after asking Captain Raylan for help. Her magic centers around Glamours and Dreams (which are becoming more realistic by the day...). It helps her blend in with Taeras populace

10. Simar (Sim) - A native Taeran who's magic allows her to see the truth in everything, she sees Kairi for what she really is, though no one else can seem to see it. They become fast friends, and meet whenever The Vagabond is in Krielle's port

11. Orrin - First Guardian of the planet Taera, one of Captain Raylan's closest friends. His magic centers around teleporting and shielding. Hes kind of a big baby, still young and unsure of what hes doing, but he IS doing his best!!!

12. Manji - Kairi's brother (in Taeran disguise). His magic centers around dreaming and Healing, and hes a big Mamas boy. He misses his sister terribly, and honestly remembers her more than Kai remembers him or their mother :(

13. Vex - An alien from the planet Jaiper (in Taeran disguise) sent looking for Kairi and her family by Kairi's father. She found Kairi in Taeran disguise (on the right) first.

14. Another unillustrated, but still very important person: Cenia! A Kraken-like being who swims under The Vagabond and helps fend off other ships and enemies. Shes the adoptive daughter of Captain Raylan and a good friend of Kairi

After spending a few years as a teenager drifting through the solar system, Jess found the bounty hunter who killed her parents, and got her revenge. Talented with a gun and a savant at martial arts, Jessica Drew became a feared name in the solar system, under the code name of Arachne. 

Arachne was a feared outlaw who spends her time on Callisto, where she’s one of the only women on the moon. Only the desperate seek her services. No one knows her true name.

She is fully prepared to die at any moment, but she won’t give up without a fight.
