Dragon Quest III HD-2D Collab in CotC!

Featuring Cyrus as the Hero, Viola as the Sage, and Molrusso as the Gadabout!

According to the new CotC Roadmap, the collab stretches until mid April, so there is probably more EX Jobs in Dragon Quest III designs to come!

The team said that they picked characters that resembled the source material, so perhaps Temenos will be chosen for the Thief?

I've been enjoying the Side Solistia update in Octopath CotC (bad translations aside) ... My faves may be outdated but they are still my favorite questionable trio :>

I missed to sneak "murder is also ok" behind Sail ... for whenever he goes dark mode xD

I imagine my party got isekai'd into Solistia after Sail summoned them and now they have to make do without their items and exist as regular adventurers doing side quests :D;

top ten most popular travelers of the EN COTC region, from 1000+ participants.

Top three wealth: Therion, Viola, Z'aanta

Top three power: Lars, A2, Lynette

Top three fame: Richard, Cyrus, Fiore

"60% of the [fame] votes were split between Richard and Cyrus."

"Therion and Richard were within about 20 votes."

Even though Cyrus was second place in Fame, he still got more votes than Lars. And Therion and Viola got such a significant amount of the wealth votes that Odette (power) got more votes than Z'aanta.

Me, with a whole drawing board: Here’s how in the Persona au the whole thing with the Original 8 centers around Therion and learning to trust again. Learning that people are genuine in their efforts to be friends with him. The original Octopath stories are a little more disconnected but that goes and hits harder for Therion because it’s him learning that compassion is genuine and giving other’s compassion often leads to good things happening.

The culmination of this leading up to him and the travelers defeating Galdera is prominent here. To have a world ruled because of greed and corruption is stupid and Therion defies Galdera’s hunger for more and learns to lean on his friends to help him out.

Therion is learning to trust again after Darius, whereas Hikari is learning to let go of the past and move forward.

Me, going to the other side of the drawing board: The Champions of the Continent thing is going to be a part 1.5 concerning the connections between the first and second Persona gang. This is where the Travelers there (Which will be all eight of the 5 stars you get of the beginning of the game) will already know about Personas and Shadows.

Already it’s established that they know about Personas which will make them traveling across the Continent make more sense as they probably are trying to figure out the sudden pop ups in Shadow Activity. Persona 5 Strikers type of thing where they all are traveling in a car and trying their best.

The Gacha Characters in the Champions of the Continent Game could be just the people that the Travelers meet and who help them out.

The reason why the COTC Travelers are dealing with this and not the Original 8 is due to how the Original 8 is dealing with Vide. Things are bad during part 1.5 and it is noticeable.

Millard, Sophia, Gilderoy, Fiore, Lynette, Theo, Viola, and Scarecrow are going through it and have the same problem as Temenos did in the current Persona au timeline. Which is that they are trying to contact the Shadow Operatives for backup and they aren’t getting any. There is an understandable reason for this with Vide and all that but the 8 are understandably frustrated by the lack of contact. Guess they have to fight Pardis on their own then. Fuck.

Me, going to the middle of the board: This THEN leads to Hikari’s events before the canon Persona au happens. So much has happened and it is. Incredibly unfortunate that Kura didn’t contact the Shadow Operatives about Hikari before she died or that Hikari met any other Shadow Operative members. If he had it is likely that he would have had a better understanding of his Curse and not stress out so much about it when he first unlocked his Persona.

Cant phrase it better than "Therion is learning to trust again after Darius, whereas Hikari is learning to let go of the past and move forward"- it'd be so sick to see them meet up in storyline eventually despite their disconnection. Whether that's in spirit or not or Cyrus just happens to catch eyes with a fishy dude on the street who brokered a deal to give Hikari a cool sword to use in the Metaverse.

The main 8 centering around Vide makes sense where their focuses lie. They have a background role and are fighting their own deities. If only the Shadow Ops new about the poor guy struggling with a curse here but Kazan was the only one who was that close to him beforehand who would've made any sort of move as he found out..

Viola was my first 5*, and she’s been awesome so far with her atk/def debuffs and two-hit omni break. Can’t wait to play more— Cotc is surprisingly good!

Aight I have many ships so I will keep my explanations brief.

For OT2, Hikari and Throne are special to me because I think that they can deeply relate to one another. Between his home and hers, and the fact that they were both raised as fighters, they have a lot to talk about.

For CoTC, Wingate and Noelle fit together because he's a thief trying to keep a legend alive, and Noelle studies legends.

Madelaine and Bertrand because of their experiences with using money to help others and their leadership in their party. (Noelle, Wingate, Madelaine and Bertrand are all friends that have been through a lot together.)

Aslyte and Richard because I like the way they interacted in my game and their dynamic is very fun to think about. They went through most of MoA together and while I was playing through the final chapter I made an offhand comment about Richard's sudden appearance made Aslyte smile wider than she had in months. The ship grew from there.

Lumis and Chloe because I really liked the dynamic that grew between them during Chloe's traveler tale. Stead has a running bet going with Viola on how long it will take those two to get together.

And of course the crossover ship of Simeon/Trousseau because I built it from the ground up and if I explained why I love them so much I would have to spill like two years worth of discord brainrot.

I miss octopath yapping with people so uh yknow what! We’re gonna play a game!!

Octopath Popularity Contest Results (UPDATE with the 1-20 results!!)

Remember when I posted about the Octopath Traveler Popularity Contest hosted by the CotC team a little while ago? Whether yes or no, I'm posting about it again!

wary of the new region, i am very too intimate with the lore and world of orsterra so it feels a little sad stepping away from it :,) but i cant wait for the new game and characters aaaa!!
