I really really understand the desire to depict V1 as a cocky, smug little robot that flirts with Gabriel and teases him but it really isn’t where the crux of their relationship is interesting to me.

Like, ok. How do I word this without sounding delusional. So, Gabriel isn’t necessarily in love with V1, he just got his entire world upended by this thing and because he’s only known faith and dependency on a higher power he just assumes that it’s probably love. V1, on the other hand, just doesn’t feel that. It feels nothing. It was built to kill and kill it shall and Gabriel is just kind of top prey. It doesn’t have a desire to be smug or to be cocky, it simply kills stylishly to fit into the system that was set up by the terminal as explained in P-2, it’s its job.

Gabriel and V1 aren’t a romantic relationship, or even a sexual one, it’s a parasitic one in a way that’s really poignant to me.

the more i think about Dr fucking Ratio the funnier he gets. Self proclaimed as one of the smartest people in the universe, shows up for the first time in the story with a marble statue on his head while playing chess WITH HIMSELF. And he beats the shit out of you with his big Tome and calculates the exact trajectory to make a marble pillar break in half and fall on top of you instead of, i dunno, just dropping the pillar on you from the get go.

Being Palestinian, it is so difficult going through Ramadan, with the privilege to fast, knowing that there are families, children, starving in Gaza.

Why is it that I’m this lucky? Why is it that I get to willingly choose to deny myself of food when hundreds upon thousands of kids are forcibly denied it, men and women killed for trying to get it from aid trucks.

There has to be a point where people realize how evil this is. Refusing to allow food and support to enter Gaza, then massacring Palestinians for going for whichever food is somehow allowed to enter, all while ruining the infrastructure and constantly bombing Gaza to the ground.

Usually I don't do these kinds of "textual analysis" posts very often but ff14 Stormblood matters alot to me so I do want to say that, in terms of Lyse, there's something about feeling alienated to the struggles of your country and feeling like you don't deserve to be a part of that struggle, feeling like you're not, in her case, a "real Ala Mhigan". It's a very specific kinda feeling that I've never seen any piece of mainstream media tackle before that speaks so particularly and exclusively personally to me as a Palestinian. It's why I get really frustrated when I hear the majority opinion on her, and how much people (usually sweaty gamers that have never had to undergo oppression in their lives) misinterpret her. Lyse isn't a bimbo, she's not stupid, she's impulsive, young, emotional and lost and her actions are driven by a desire to prove herself to herself because she was forcibly separated from a revolution her family wanted to protect her from, only ending up alienating her, which is not a fault of anyone but the occupiers and the oppressors

i was at a showing just now for a 2019 english documentary on the situation for palestinians in gaza and they opened up a discussion on the topic and one person really felt the gall to ask “to everyone here feeling guilt over their privilege and their better position and feel helpless about making a difference for the people suffering, how do you cope with that?” and i think it kind of made me wanna bash my skull in
