hiiii!!!! it's me! the anon who asked about requests! (*^▽^*) thank you for answering! can i request something about vmin as soulmates? ヽ(＊>∇

ok so this i was watching harry potter last night with my roommate and got a little inspired so have some harry potter au soulmate vmin stuff!

ok so, i’m going by namjoon’s sorting of the members which means taehyung is a hufflepuff and jimin is in slytherin. and in this au soulmates are connected by the red string of fate but it doesn’t happen all at once. soulmates are usually naturally drawn to each other throughout their lives and once they start hitting puberty they start being able to see their string. it starts off as a sort of hazy red glow looped around the pinkie of their dominant hand and as they get older and grow closer to their soulmate, the thread becomes more and more visible, extending further and further from their pinkie until they can finally see the thread around their soulmate’s finger.

taehyung and jimin first meet when they are on the train to hogwarts for the first time. jimin is from a long line of pure blooded wizards and he’s been raised with magic his whole life, whereas taehyung is 100% muggleborn and has grown up on his grandparent’s farm his whole life but they always knew there was something strange about taehyung due to his ability to change his features at will (and sometimes when he didn’t will it) metamorphmagus taehyung is life 

they sit next to each other on the train and talk animatedly the whole ride to hogwarts, mostly taehyung asking questions rapidfire and jimin answering them happily. 

after the sorting ceremony when they’ve been sorted into their separate houses they don’t speak much apart from a passing smile or greeting in the hallway. 

it’s not until their third year, the year when people begin to be able to see their red strings, that taehyung and jimin really meet again. taehyung has kept his somewhat shy exterior but he’s made a few good friends, namely jung hoseok a fellow hufflepuff. jimin however became popular rapidly, only increasing when he joined the quidditch team in his second year as keeper. 

jimin is the first one to be able to see the hazy little red glow and it happens on the first day of spring. he’s not really paying attention to where he’s going, too caught up in his conversation with his friend jeongguk to notice the boy walking towards them with his head buried in the monster book of monsters. 

they bump into each other and taehyung’s book goes flying, growling as it hits the floor and immediately latching onto jimin’s foot who hollers at the sudden pain. taehyung is a blushing mess, hair a blushing pink with embarrassment and apologizing profusely as he coaxes the book off jimin’s foot and locks it. 

jimin’s eyes follow him down the hallway, blinking in surprise as taehyung’s flushed face remains imprinted in his mind before jeongguk is nudging his shoulder and laughing at him for being attacked ‘by a book!! seokjin hyung is gonna love this!’ 

it’s only when he’s back in his dorm and digging around in his own textbooks so he can finally get started on the paper due in potions the next day when he notices the red haze around his right pinkie. 

another year go by after that before they meet again. taehyung still hasn’t seen even a glimpse of red around his left pinkie and jimin’s thread remains a hazy blur that hasn’t changed since that first day. 

they meet because jimin is failing potions. he has to keep all of his grades up to be allowed to play in quidditch matches so professor slughorn assigns him a tutor; one of the brightest potions students he’s seen in his entire career, kim taehyung. 

the first few sessions are a little awkward with taehyung being too shy to look jimin in the eyes and jimin not knowing how to break the ice. eventually though taehyung recognizes jimin from the first time they ever met and hesitantly brings it up, thanking jimin for being so kind to him when he was suddenly thrown into such a confusing world. jimin lights up at the memory and from there on the sessions get easier and they become close friends. 

that summer they keep in contact via owl (jimin’s personal owl as taehyung had opted for a cat companion. it’s a white grey norwegian forest cat named yeontan that likes to curl up in his lap while he studies) and taehyung’s first letter to jimin is an excited recount of how he could finally see the beginnings of his thread around his pinkie the day jimin’s owl arrived. 

in fifth year they’re closer than ever. taehyung has managed to worm his way into jimin’s closest group of friends (bts) and they spend most afternoons together whether it’s taehyung watching jimin at quidditch practice, studying together, or sneaking into the green houses because taehyung loves to play with the flobberworms (their mucus is a common ingredient for potions). 

jimin’s thread begins to grow more clear and he can now see about two feet of it, trailing from his pinkie and vanishing into thin air. taehyung’s is clear as well but he can only see the beginnings of it trailing off his finger. 

in the greenhouse one day, when jimin is watching taehyung muse about the fanged geraniums and he finds himself thinking that the sunlight streaming through the rain graced glass haloing around his best friend is the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, his pinkie throbs and he looks down to see the red string taught for the first time, the vanished end pointing straight at taehyung. that’s when he starts to realize. 

it’s not until their sixth year that taehyung realizes too. it’s during a mixed potions class, hufflepuff and gryffindor sharing the class and they’re learning how to make amorentia for the first time. his partner jisoo isn’t very good at potions but taehyung is happy to take over, excited to think of what he may smell when the potion is finished. 

when the potion finally fades from muddled black to a vibrant pink taehyung knows it’s perfect and leans over to inhale deeply. it smells like the freshly tilled earth of his grandmother’s farm and the forest around it. it smells like freshly steeped chai and the greenhouse by the west wing. it smells like fleetwood’s high-finish broom handle polish and the orange blossom scented hand lotion jimin carries with him everywhere. 

they get in their first fight one month after that. jimin’s been busy with an important quidditch match coming up and taehyung get’s fed up with being ignored and snapped at. he yells at jimin for being a jerk and jimin yells at taehyung for being annoying and needy. they both say things they don’t mean and in the end it’s taehyung who storms away from jimin, hair fading from an angry red to hurt a hurt blue-grey as tears sting his eyes. they don’t speak for two weeks. 

the big quidditch match comes and halfway through it screams begin to erupt as dementors appear above the field and the stands. the quiddich pitch is a mess of players and students running in panic and jimin is screaming for taehyung, fear rushing through him as he can’t spot the familiar colorful hair anywhere since it had disappeared up in the hufflepuff stands when the panic first arose. 

something tugs his hand and jimin looks down, not processing anything except the harsh tugging of the vibrant red thread around his finger. jimin shoves his way through the crowd, eyes locked on the thread pulled taught until he’s crashing into someone, arms shooting out to balance them and keep them together as panic surges around them. 

taehyung sobs in relief and clings to jimin’s chest, pressing as close to him as he can get, one hand fisted in his quidditch robes and the other clutching tightly to the very visible red thread that connects their fingers. it’s not exactly the best moment but jimin cups taehyung’s cheeks and kisses him long and hard, unable to speak through the joy and relief that thrums in his veins before he links their hands together, his right to taehyung’s left with their red string tangled between their fingers and they run with the crowd to the safety of the castle.

Taehyung is the youngest heir to his kingdom, his family basically doesn’t expect much from him so he gets to do everything he likes.

Taehyung particularly likes botany. He acquires many books and begs his professors to talk about plants as much as they can but nor his private professor nor none of his brother’s know much about the subject, just the basics which, by this point, Taehyung’s already got them all down.

So Tae, having read all books he could get and having learned all about what his garden could provide, decides he needs to get out of the castle to find more things to learn.

He goes undercover, hidden behind a cape with a hood and with a royal guard following him closely, making sure no one recognizes him. 

He goes to the market and stops at every stall with plants, asking questions but he discovers many of the clercks were just that and had little to no knowledge about the specifics of what they were selling.

Some time goes by and Taehyung has finally found a store, the biggest he’s been in yet, with a variety of plants and books about them that catches his attention. 

Out of nowhere he spots a plant by itself and his insides twist, he gets close to it and asks softly and in awe “Is this... a mandrake?”

A snort startles him out of his stupor. There’s a short man standing close to him with a pot of bright blue flowers on his small chubby hands. Taehyung simply stares at the man and his beautiful eye smile making him recall the moon.

“I’m sorry. That was just way too funny” The man says, still smiling at Taehyung “Mandrakes are a little bit more rare than to find them in a corner store. Still, nice try” 

Taehyung’s lips press in a thin line as his cheeks redden, okay yeah, maybe he should think twice before opening his mouth because that thought was quite silly but he didn’t know much about magical plants and where to find them... apparently this man did.

Without thinking much, for a second time, Taehyung is by the man’s side in a blink. “You know a lot about botany?”

The man seems surprised but Taehyung’s wide eyes happen to make the trick on him and his expression softens into a small smile. “Yes, you could say so”

Taehyung takes off the hood, not caring much at how big the man’s eyes widen at the sight of him, takes the man’s hand and pleads softly “Could you teach me?”

rapline. obviously. my favorite thing to think about is what their recording/studio/writing process is like. the way they figure out how to merge such three distinct styles together is really. really. but also, like, namgi having this complicated but super tight bond and it’s been just the two of them for so long and then hoseok comes in and he should throw it off, but he’s the balance they needed instead. hoseok seems like such a great mediator and mood equalizer but also namgi kind of having to coax him to rely on them too. he doesn’t always have to be j-hope, he doesn’t always have to be their energy source, or a bridge. he’s allowed to be jung hoseok and all that entails.

also i have this very elaborate au where they all live in this tiny apartment in a huge city with five cats and namjoon is a think piece writer and yoongi is an accountant/soundcloud rapper and hoseok is a lit professor like his dad and they do friday brunch because they’re “edgy” and have perfected the three way handhold and it’s really great tbh.

maknae line. obviously. the lack of maknae line content makes me so sad. those three humans love each other so much it’s kinda like. wow. there is so much love there. and they’d work so well? especially with how they’ve all matured recently i think they’d be way better at communicating and each pulling their own weight in keeping themselves in check without jimin having to play ringleader sort of. their house would be such a mess though and jk would have to learn not to lose his shit over it (i headcannon him as a spartan neat freak a little) but vmin are very good at soothing his huffy mood. their days would never be consistent tho. some days it’s literally just one gaming or movie marathon after the other and they don’t move from the couch basically. and others, it’s like nope let’s go out and tear this city a new asshole. it’s really great.

out of the many au’s i have for them, my fave is this kind of x-men meets sense8 meets but not au where they have powers and taehyung is lowkey kind of not evil but deffo a hot mess (emphasis on hot) but jikook love him and want to bang with him anyways ;( also maknaeline hot times would be really…… nice. just saying.

jinminkook. aka fake maknae line. aka the real maknae line (sorry taehyung oop but you know it’s true). they’re so fucking dumb together and it’s fucking great. like they’re a shit ton of fun. imagining them getting super drunk and trying to outdrink each other is one of my favorite things. but then one of them will all of a sudden say something really deep that makes the other two go “huh. i’d never thought of that wooooow.” because all three of them can be unexpectedly really philosophical/deep thinkers. also seokjin being the “hyung” but also weirdly not having to be the hyung TM. he’s very comfortable with them and can sort of let lose in this really nice way that feels different from the other members sometimes. also jungkook is such a brat @ jin but also obviously loves to be spoiled/dotted on by him and jimin is very chill with both of them and i love that.

i’d totally kill for an au where they’re hitmen but a ala the good, the bad, and the weird (watch this movie if you haven’t. it is amazing.) but they all fall in love and are dumb together and it’s awesome.

yoonseokmin. jiyoonseok. sopemin. whatever they’re called. hooooooo boy. i love them. like a wow amount. they’re such a great contrast of personalities but also they’d be (and are) so soft for each other. hoseok has very specific relationships with yoonmin but toss them together and it’d be such an interesting mix. yoongi has a soft spot for all of bangtan but his soft spot for jihope is something else. and jimin seems to really admire sope and respect them so much on a professional level but also on a personal level too. i love imagining those late night convos jihope are always talking about with yoongi curled up at their sides and falling asleep and contributing every so often but mostly just listening to them talk, listening to them breathe, lulled to sleep by the gentle cadence of their voices.

i really love college au’s for them for some reason. like really messy fwb type things where it seems super angsty and like it’s gonna end in heartbreak but then they’re just like “wow what if we all just banged each other tho” and they do and they end up moving off campus into a cute bungalow and yoongi refuses to get a dog which breaks jihope’s hearts but he relents and they adopt a guinea pig and name him kdot and they legit have five years worth supply of lube because they’re well prepared like that.

taenamseok. hear me out. they’d be so chill together. so so chill. vmon are kinda the deep thinkers of the group but 94z has had these really deep conversations too and they all seem to just like thinking about stuff and talking in conceptual terms but also seem to want to be unbothered by the complexities of life they notice? so yeah they have these moments of “wow life is really kinda f-ed up” in different pov’s obviously, but also just want to enjoy shit and have a good time and take in that life is the little things and is honestly just good. vmon vibe so well together (among the best in bts imo) and 94z have worked a lot to understand each other and vhope have this sort of very intrinsic bond where they’re the 2/3 of the sunshine line that people like to superficialize a lot but also bottle shit up a lot and seem to have a more moody/darker side people acknowledge less and seem to really be soft about each other. there’s tons of love/admiration between the three of them and i just feel like they’d make sense and work really well together.

au wise but also not totally an au, namjoon has admitted he’s been jealous of vhope at different times (i think with hoseok it was implied but with taehyung it was the literal words) so i have this au where vhope are sort of a thing but it’s casual and namjoon becomes friends with both of them and he genuinely likes and appreciates them both but he gets jealous of taehyung and at first he thinks it’s just because he and taehyung are similar, both eccentric and kind of nerdy/dorky, interest in knowledge and just learning about shit and they think differently from most people, but taehyung is well liked and has a shit ton of friends and is ridiculously unfairly gorgeous and seems unbothered by everything like 99.9% of the time. taehyung seems to really like/love/know himself and namjoon, for all his big brain, can’t seem to quite figure that out. and it is partly that but it’s also the way taehyung’s hand looks on hoseok’s waist, the way it slips under his shirt to touch his hip, the casual knowingness of it in a crowded room. how familiar that touch is. welcome if the way hoseok gives into it, is basically putty to it, says anything. but then he gets the same kind of feelings about hoseok because hoseok is so passionate and good at what he does to the point it seems effortless but he works harder than almost anyone namjoon knows and he seems like a people pleaser but hoseok does. not. give. a. shit. what your opinion of his life is. he loves people and he is friendly as fuck but the second someone oversteps that hoseok calls that shit out. and namjoon still cares so much about what other people think. how to live up to their standards. how to impossibly make everyone, including himself, happy. but it’s also the way hoseok looks at taehung when he thinks no one else is watching. the way he kisses right under taehyung’s chin when they’re out and he’s tipsy. the way he nuzzles himself into taehyung’s side and pulls taehyung’s arm across his shoulders when he’s way pass drunk. it’s the breadth of taehyung’s body against hoseok’s narrower yet trimmer one. it’s the way taehyung presses smirking kisses to hoseok’s jaw at some house party, hoseok’s back against a wall, his hands fisted in taehyung’s shirt. but it’s also the way hoseok knows that taehyung hates coffee so he always brings him tea or chocolate to their study sessions. or the way taehyung pulls hoseok out of the dance studio before he dances himself into exhaustion and takes him back to his place, puts hoseok in his bed. it’s the ease between them. the casualness that’s more than just casual. but one day namjoon and hoseok are hanging out and they’re at dinner and they’ve had a few drinks and they’re laughing at literally nothing and there’s something about this light that makes hoseok look different, good, lovely in this obscene way in how kind of beautiful he is and then hoseok is leaning over the table and kissing him and at first namjoon goes with it because wow it’s nice but then he freaks the fuck out is all what about taehyung? and hoseok explains that it’s causal with taehyung and that he knows and it’s fine and actually they want to talk to him and nj is all the fuck and it seems like it’ll get super dramatic TM but then both vhope talk to him together, how they both have developed feelings for him, want to try this for real, and nj is all …..about it at first but he comes around because that jealousy was more than just jealousy. and then it’s all chill and easy but at times not but that makes it better tbh. they go to french films at the foreign film theater in town which hoseok doesn’t totally get and namjoon gets super existential about and taehyung cries over, and they laze about on their off days smoking up and making out, and hoseok always remembers that namjoon likes an extra espresso shot in his latte, and taehyung will forcible frogmarch namjoon out of the library on fridays because it’s a damn friday namjoon, come get dumb with us and also the library is closing, man. and it’s not casual at all. and none of their beds are big enough for the three of them but they make it work and namseok take turns being the middle spoon for taehyung’s koala limbs, and taehyung’s dick has his work cut out for it. but it’s all super chill.
