Two days in and it feels weird to be back in the UK. Even if it’s only momentarily. It’s been too long. It’s like putting an old t-shirt on that I haven’t worn in a while but it’s now a size too small and I’ve fallen out of love with the style. So much has changed in my head and heart, yet nothing has changed in this small little country that I’m from. The traffic and accents that fill the background are familiar, like a song that I haven’t listened to in a while, and the faces that surround me are still just as loving as the day I left them but everything has changed. Not the place, not the people, but me. I have changed. My mind has changed. My passions have changed. I want change. I have seen so much. I have seen poverty in its entirety. I have seen children on broken pavements knowing nothing but starvation. People living a slow death, overworking themselves to the bone, and there’s no escape. And to see all of this and return to a country that is oblivious to anything outside of its comfortable nutshell hurts my heart. I am not the same person that took a seat on that flight months ago but someone who has a completely new perspective on life. The journeys you take in life might just show you exactly what you are meant to do in this little time space that we have on this universe and this particular journey certainly has for me. The place that you are born and the place that you are meant to be in can sometimes be two different places. And for me, I’m beginning to realise this might just be the case.

What a beautiful sight.... just sailing past..... So today I was at the bird farm doing my voluntary work. I love it there so much. I have started to grow in confidence, helping and interacting with customers more and more. My whole reason for going, is for that one reason, just to build my confidence and lower my anxiety in social situations.
