A soft PolyVees HC

Velvette has a 12 step beauty routine she does every night without fail back from when she was alive. She may not need to do it now but it was always her time, the one time of day away from the cameras and it's a creature comfort she refused to give up. Doesn't matter she doesn't even have pores anymore, she will wash her damn face.

Valentino never had an in depth routine but he would never pass up an opportunity to pamper himself. Besides, he has to look his best, he is Valentino after all. When Velvette joined the Vees he was intrigued by all the steps in her skincare routine, the way the products interacted with each other, whatever the fuck a gua sha was.

Vox never minded Valentino's nightly routine, he wasn't a clingy person, wasn't even around for it most of the time. But then suddenly it wasn't Val's special time, it was theirs.

It started slowly, sharing different skin care and face masks, then doing their routines together. But now? It's an hour long affair of laying in each other's beds and gossiping, standing next to each other at the sink, giggling like old biddies. He's tried to join but he ends up just standing there and watching them. After all, how could he participate? He has a fucking screen for a face.

Vox knows that Velvette and Valentino spend time together without him, that's a natural part of being a polycule, but when it's every fucking night? It...Well, it doesn't hurt, it's ridiculous to insinuate that he'd be so affected by them spending time together, but it's not pleasant. Their shared routine is a reminder of a shortcoming he has no control over.

Valentino and Velvette notice Vox slowly becoming agitated as their nightly skincare routine approaches. They way he storms out of the room, the snippy responses, the underlying static in his voice. It undeniably bothers him.

One night Valentino pulls Vox into the bathroom, the latter buzzing with irritation but maintaining an air on nonchalance. Inside Velvette awaits, with a face wash headband that matches hers and Valentino's, and squeegee and some screen cleaner. She bought a custom facemask machine, filled it with screen cleaner, holding one up to show him.

Vox will vehemently deny the 8 bit hearts that pop up on his screen or the shrill feedback from his speakers, but Valentino and Velvette both heard it. From then on he joins them, with a facade of reluctance as he listens intently as they talk about their days, playing their 'girlboss' playlist softly from his speakers and a facemask on his screen.

velvette convinced vox to dress up for her voxtsta by making a very convincing case (she definitely just blackmailed him. vox, you don't want me to tell killjoy about your alastor shrine, do you? get in the skirt.) the engagement is in-fucking-sane. a job well done for her. vox starts feeling himself soon enough and finds out that he actually does really like fucking around with the way he presents himself. he doesn't appreciate valentino immediately taking liberties, though.

Vox has terrible taste in men. Like between Alastor, a canabalistic serial killer with the worst haircut I've ever seen who is both aroace & so emotionally constipated and egotistical that he can't even FRIENDZONE you because that'd be showing weakness, and Valentino, a fucking serial abuser/rapist who is so fucking stupid and bull-headed that you have to scream in his face to make him listen and even then only understands what you're trying to tell him after you've gone through a step by step process of the most basic ideas, that man can NOT catch a break dear god-

His taste in women is pretty good tho Velvette's great :)

Can we talk about how the Vees always hang out in the same room???

We first see it when Vox goes to calm Val down:

It's the same table, TV, and couches that are in the extermination watch party scene, and they're also the same couches that Val and Vel are hanging out on in Stayed Gone:

This poster next to Vox when Val threw the glass is also visible in the background (on the left, behind Val) in the scene where Vel is watching the news on her phone:

After which Val immediately turns around and goes to sit on the couch to turn the TV on instead so he can see better. And when it switches to Vox's camera, there's a clear shot of the couches/table as well:

When their song in the finale starts, Vox passes these monitors, which are the same ones as in the first scene with Vox and Val (plus the little photo):

Then they're in front of the couch Vel and Vox were sitting on:

And then you can see the back of Val's couch when Velvette is filming the dancing.

And in her phone screen, you can see barstools in the background, which is probably where Velvette was sitting when she showed Val the news on her phone?

Also she was filming for 10 minutes,

And then remember that uh... weapons closet that Val gets guns out of? You can see it in the background when Val and Vox are singing (just to the right of Vox).

All of this is just to say the Vees 100% always hang out in this space, and it's adorable. It's their hangout space. I was always thinking it's a lobby/living room of some kind, but I've seen people refer to it as Val's room, and you know what? It's amazing either way because either Velvette and Vox both adore Val enough to have all his posters covering their common area wall, OR they have designated Val's room as their hangout spot, and he's just chill with it 😭

Bonus: look at how Velvette looks at her boys when they go off dancing:

These three are top tier polycule material and you cannot convince me otherwise.

I have weird feelings abt shipping Valentino. I firmly believe the only characters that are really. Okay to ship with him are the other Vees and maybe Niffty. Like Im not gonna go around attacking other ppl abt it, rlly if you see content you don't like the best thing you can do is block and move on, but I still don't like the idea of him in a relationship to the point where even the ships involving him I DO support are on thin ice(hence why Velval and Staticmoth individually are so low). That being said I am nothing if not a sucker for dysfunctional polycules(I will DIE ON THE POLYVEES HILL TOO, FUCK YOU!!!!!!), and the idea of Niffty terrorizing Val and being kinda like his horrible purse dog(thanks @/kibbles-bits lmfao) is funny asf, so I am willing to make exceptions on my no shipping Val stance lmfao.

Velmilla is in the NOTP section because the theory that Velvette is one of Carmilla's daughters is compelling enough to me that I don't feel comfortable shipping them at all, but I did stripe it w/ "maybe?/neutral" bcuz if that theory ends up being undeniably disproven next season then there's probably some potential there Idk

Husk x Alastor is a NOTP bcuz I think enough parallels between Val and Alastor have been pulled that the ship is iffy at BEST. Like it's not an immediate block if you ship it but it is kind of a red flag to me. Dont feel as much vitriolic disgust towards it as I do other NOTPs tho so it's also in the not for me section.

I forgot to draw friend lines between Niffty and Charlie/Vaggie smh... I also forgot to draw one between Pentious and Vaggie/Husk wtf- WAIT I ALSO FORGOT TO PUT ONE BETWEEN HUSK AND VAGGIE FUCK-
