surprisingly i dont think i posted something like this yet, but talkingn to fellow taleblr fandomers made me think about this a lot/gen/pos

disclaimer i am a system, so no one freak out on me xD

to all the singlets in the VenturianTale fandom who worry about this sometimes (and to the singlets who think they know better than us/lh)

that its okay to like and/or headcanon Johnny Ghost/Jimmy Casket (and Gregory?) as a system/plural/DID.

like yes, how it was done in the original source WAS bad! Jordan demonized the hell out mental illness in general.

but that doesn't mean that we can't reclaim and make it better!!!!!!!!!

and i know a lot of people get nervous about it, mainly singlets (people who are not plural/systems) and i understand so don't worry. this isnt a post saying you should headcanon it. it's a post saying that system/plural/did headcanon is OKAY and we need to loosen up on it a little bc we acting like we can't make a better or improved version of the source.

booing singlets who think they are god's fucking gift to the plural/system/did & osdd community by saying jimmy casket and johnny ghost is always gonna be bad representation and treat those who headcanon it weirdly lmao

we already change and separate the source to our liking to begin with.

I also know its common for singlets to be worried about misrepresenting systems when using that headcanon and would rather not touch it to be safe which is fair. because being a system isn't a quirky character trait, you can't just give to a character will nilly, not without handling it without genuine love and care for both the character(s) and the community they represent!

but also shout out from the depths of my soul to those, systems and singlets alike, who do take on the headcanon while doing proper research and talking to systems about it!!

also yes some systems do not like the original take of jimmy casket and johnny ghost as it is in fact bad system/did representation. We (my headmates and I) also dont like how it was done originally. but i personally see it as an opportunity to turn it into something better and meaningful.

also semi related but Jimmy should still be allowed to kill people.

he shouldn't obviously be the "evil murder alter." bc that's stereotyping obviously.

but in a world where a lot of the characters casually murder each other all the time, it would be unfair to leave Jimmy (or Ghost) out just because he's an alter/headmate. if that makes sense???

personally ive been giving him more depth behind the times he has killed, given a reason, something thats bigger than him and out of his control. also while steppign away from the stupid serial killer thing. lmao.

This is not coherent at all but we have (slightly weak) evidence that jimmy casket that is passed down from parent to child (tommy to gregory/ghost) in the casket family. When tommy died, he gave jimmy to ghost. Jimmy has possessed and/or impersonated (implying they look similar) princeton quagmire. Mayhaps. Quagmire is related to Johnny Ghost ? Yes. 👍

Hi friends! I'm taking a little break from blogging while I work through the aftermath of the care agency drama, which has led to me having some severe emotional meltdowns over the last two weeks. I have a couple of rambly announcements under the cut.

I've been focusing most of my energy on my solo roleplaying, so I'm creating my party of adventurers and several of their friends, relatives and recurring NPCs as TS2 sims, as a light-hearted side hood that's purely for me. Also, to test the ideas I have for Kulo Sena, which I can't face rebuilding until I've played something. (As an aside, I'm so invested in this bunch of characters that I've developed massive pseudocrushes on the leading couple of the party (both of them, or as I like to call them, #Jagdon), one NPC from the published adventure I'm running myself through who was introduced as a minor antagonist but surprised everyone by giving her life to save the adventurers several scenes later (not to mention performing #Jagdon's wedding ceremony at one point in between), and one celestial object from the party's home world.) I also happen to have a major soft spot for Lharryn, my group's gnoll ranger, who was raised to be a mercenary warrior but would much rather settle down with the man of his dreams and craft beautiful stained glass lamps.

I'd also like to say that I'm still going to be hanging around to like and comment on my favourite simblrs, just don't expect any Kulo Sena posts for a few weeks. I still feel quite fragile and my inner demons are cranking up the gender and species dysphoria, which is not helping. I have discovered what I am on the inside though! In my heart, I feel that I'm a little floating wisp of starlight that just happens to have a bearded AFAB humanoid body and a weight problem. I've also worked out that I'm not agender - at least, not all the time. I would say panflux is a more accurate term for how I feel - sometimes agender, sometimes every gender I could possibly have, sometimes none of the above but definitely something, just not a something that a neurotypical human can comprehend, and sometimes more than one of those somethings. When KS does make a comeback, its language will have a term for how I feel in myself: the Nuidya word will be namavinta (literally "carrying a nation within") and the first sim to identify this way will be Luyisula zan-Avira, apprentice shaman, who has been on a similar journey over their life.

And on that note, I'll sign off and go catch some Z's. :)

PIE coffee headcanons here we go

Ghost shouldn’t have coffee; he used to drink buckets of it and basically poisoned himself. Now if he has it, it’s usually to pull all-nighters and it’s a sign that he’s obsessively overworking. He can have tea tho (chai is my fav so i’m giving him chai)

Toast will put milk in his coffee to mitigate stains (for teeth and clothes)

Colon makes hot chocolate and doesn’t correct people when they think it’s coffee

Spooker puts in milk and honey (genuinely so tasty for coffee) and Ghost will tell him he’s ruining it

Gavin tries so hard to enjoy black coffee, but he’s just as anxious about stains as his brother is

Jimmy will steal a sip from Gavin’s coffee and be incapacitated with chest pains for the rest of the day bc he forgets that their body can’t tolerate it anymore

i have thought about this so much

This is the first i’ve heard of acalacam, but basically that except the experiment was a failure.

his father ran the experiment on Gavin when he and Johnny Toast were super young, and I have two possible ideas of what happened:

1. their mother and her side of the family found out and took them away from their father. She moved them to the US and tried to give them a normal life (which was easy, she’s still royalty and rich asf)

2. their father shut down the experiment because Gavin’s powers were faulty, unreliable, maybe even degenerately harmful to his body, but all his father cared about was that he wasn’t a perfect “acalacam.” The family pretty much knew this was going on and kept it under wraps, so after it ended they figuratively pushed it under the rug even more.

Either way, Gavin and Johnny were sent to live in the US, where Gavin’s powers manifested in very small but ostracizing ways.

His powers were weak and unrefined, and he had nothing to work with to understand them, so for his whole life Gavin has been trying to develop them by any means necessary, including experiments of his own.

His magic looks like a black smoke or a green fire, it leaves soot on his hands, and if anything burns or blows up then the fire/explosion is green.

He quickly became alienated from his brother and his peers, due to conflicts his powers caused and due to his own actions and bitterness.

He found some connections in the dr-g scene as a dealer/cook, but he’s never let anyone get close to him. And there are crimes that he does alone, like money counterfeiting and identity theft. He’s by no means a successful criminal, and his powers tend to interfere more than help him. He’s mostly just getting by.

So he’s been running experiments on himself involving self-taught magic and biochemistry. Maybe he stole his father’s old files about the original experiment.

it’s taken a LOT of painstaking effort, but he discovers he also has some ability for healing, which conflicts with the destructive tendencies of his powers, and that his magic can also be toxic, which makes healing difficult.

And in his work he learned about necromancy and making deals with paranormal entities, which leads to him working occasionally with characters like Jimmy Casket and Maxwell Acachalla

Nothing has ever come easily or naturally for him. Everything he’s accomplished to develop his powers into something much stronger and more controlled, he’s gotten through decades of gruelling work, self-medication, and self-preservation.

TLDR; uhh idk maybe green-smokey telekinesis that leaves soot on his hands, and a little bit of cleric healing abilities + toxic magic + necromancy

I have other rambles about Gavin and the town that he, Toast, and Ghost grew up in, and another about Gavin and Jimmy

what do you think or headcanon what Gavin's powers are bc ive heard a lot of different interpretations

i remember shoobaqueen (who i think was basically Gavin's designer/creator in a way) had it original paranormal related like able to control ghosts and meanwhile people have only seen fanart and just guessed it was just green fire (which is... fair xD)

i personally think he's an experimental acalacam since him and Toast's father was trying to help Darth Calculus make him into an acalacam (which turned a lot things either green or into a watermelon coincidenally) bc i think thatd be kinda cool and would give him a range of things (which could still include fire(?)/destructive forces and control over paranormal entities and other things.)
