A Day at the Beach

I said I wanted to make a beach episode fic (thanks pinkladypoggers for suggesting I do that) so pinks and friends go to the beach. Also Pegasus actually kinda writes characters besides the pinks in their fics (real)

It was a sunny day at the beach. The pinks and T-birds were hanging out. Hazel brought Wally too.

The T-birds were swimming and causing chaos, as they should. Olivia was making a sand castle and Jane and Hazel were looking at the critters in the tide polls. Nancy was sunbathing and Cynthia was looking for oppritunities to prank the pinks

“Hazel! C’mon! The water is nice.” Wally called out, sitting on his surfboard.

Hazel walked to the water as a wave came in. “Nope.” She backed away.

Wally splashed in her direction. “It’s not so bad!”

Meanwhile Jane was looking at shell and it moved away and she backed up. “What in the-”

“A hermit crab! Nice find, Janey.” Wally said, paddling over. “They’re harmless. See?” He let the hermit crab crawl over his hand and passed it to Jane.

“Oh that tickles.” She said, chuckling a little.

“Now if you excuse me, I need to teach Hazel how to surf.”

“I never agreed to that-” Too late. Wally was already bringing her to the wave.

“Go on your belly.” Wally said, “It’ll be easier the first time.” Hazel rode the wave. It was honestly terrifying for her.

“Nope.” Hazel said. “Never doing that again.” She paddled back to the tide pool area and got back on land.

“You do you.” Wally shrugged.

Hazel went back to looking at the tidepools with Jane when suddenly… Splash. The two of them looked to see Cynthia giggling with a bucket in hand.

“CYNTHIA!” Jane squealed, splashing her friend.

“Sorry, I was aiming for the boys.” She lied. She got splashed again. “Okay! Okay! I was aiming for you two.”

Soon there was a splash fight going on with just Jane, Hazel, and Cynthia, but soon the T-birds join in.

“So much for avoiding water,” Hazel mumbled to herself as she got splashed again.

“Sorry Hazel.” Jane replied

“Where is my bucket?” Olivia asked.

“Oh, sorry.” Cynthia returned the bucket.

“That is looking really good!” Jane said, before getting splashed by Richie. “Richie I swear-”

“Thank you!” Olivia replied, watching the commotion with a laugh.

They were all just having fun on the beach.

Monkey Island Week: Day 2

I think I'm gonna be late to all these days but it's fine? It's finee.

So! Returning side characters, huh? I instantly knew who I wanted to draw

(or sort of instantly, because I forgot one of their names for like an entire like few hours until my complaining summoned his name from the depths of my brain)

Wally was pretty much already announced as probably returning! I like him, I got hyped about him when in Curse when I first watched a playthrough, he's cool! Optical lense buddies, high five!

But also... I just really like Van Winslow?? He's very sweet, instant attachment the moment he's friendly with you, his love of maps and fish person will be a part of my heart

So if dolls are dangerous because anything could move in to them, is the toy industry drastically different? Or can you make them a certain way in order to not come down with a bad case of ghosts?

Doll Hauntings are relatively rare (less than one in a million dolls are ever posessed by any spirit or other entity), but the results can be so catastrophic that the doll industry very nearly died out until 1945, when Annabelle "Janice" Wallis, a victim of a tragic doll posession, got in contact with toymaker Winslow Shott and the two of them engaged in a decades-long scientific study of doll posession, and determined that the order of operations in the manufacture of dolls and other children's toys was key in creating dolls that were uninhabitable by most spirits. The Wallis-Shott Process was released in 1967 and is now used worldwide, leading to a massive decline in Doll Posessions. Key factors of the process inculde:

The Doll or toy should ideally not be hollow at any point in the manfacture process, or should only be hollow BEFORE the face is attatched. Most dolls are now made with entirely solid pieces that are attatched together.

The Face should always be the last thing to be made or attatched in the manufacture of a toy, and should be left partially incomplete. Teddy bears and other plush toys are still made by stuffing a hollow "Skin" with fluff, but the eyes and other facial features are attatched or sewn on at the last possible second to avoid having a spirit finding the 'complete' unstuffed skin, and moving in before fluffing.

At first, toys were manufactured to have eyes with an iris but no pupil to leave them 'incomplete', but children subsequently drawing in pupils made the dolls risky again, so now dolls and toys are manufactured with a number of 'missing' features that are hard to add back in- fewer than 5 fingers, lips without a mouth line, eyes with pupil but no iris etc. The disconcertingly barren groins of Barbie and Ken dolls are part of a host of features that make them some of the most posession-resistant toys on the market.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Construct-A-Creature Workshop has been sued multiple times for blatantly ignoring the Wallis-Schott process and creating toys that practically attract hauntings- unattended 'complete' skins, pregenerated names and toy personas, symbolic 'hearts' placed within the dolls, and a 'lifegiving' ritual all make the toys produced there unusually suitable for haunting, and the business is now banned in over 50 countries.

Since all objects are at risk of becming Tsukumogaki, and toys that aren't posesed but still survive to that age tend to develop rbust personalities to say the least, dolls and other toys are made of biodegradeable materials that will typically fall apart well before the 100-year mark without special preservation.

The Velveteen Rabbit Phenomenon is still almost impossible to prevent, but the good news is that so far, all documented incidents of VRP have resulted in toys that are benevolent to and protective of their children. The crappy adults that may surround those children... not as much.

The Duel Monsters Toy Line has always had impeccable safety practices in it's production- for all their other faults, Maximillion Pegasus and Seto Kaiba alike were extremely strict that their products never harm children- but even with that level of care, the toy line seems unusually prone to posession, but curiously, not in the typical pattern of opportunistic ghosts. In 1989 (shortly after the relase of duel monsters), a "Dark Magician" figurine in a private collection suddenly became animated during a thaumaturgic storm surge after the house was hit by lightning, and started shouting in what linguists reviewing the tape say was likely Ancient Khemetic. The Ancient Egyptian Ghost visited several other figurines, dolls, plushies, posters and even a printed T-shirt at one point over the net few years, all of the Dark Magician character. Conspiracy theorists suggest that the appearences of the ancient ghost were the result of Mr. Pegasus plagarizing the identity of a real-life ancient wizard for his cards, but no proof has ever been made.

New Romantics

Anastasia 'Ana' Davis has been uprooted three times in her life. The first time, it was 1942, and her parents decided to immigrate from Bogota, Colombia to Southern California. She was 4. 

The second time, it was 1945 and her parents had passed away. She was shipped to an orphanage about 20 miles from Rydell, California. She was 7.

The third time, it was 1946 and she was just adopted by Thomas and Bianca Davis, the richest couple in Rydell. They wanted kids but after a bad miscarriage, Bianca couldn't have any. She thought Ana was sweet. She was eight.

From 8 to 16, Ana assimilated. She learned English, stopped speaking Spanish, and acted like the perfect daughter. Ranked third in her class for academics, cheerleader, tutored struggling students for free, was dating football player, Wally Winslow, and was best friends with resident golden boy, Buddy Aldridge. She was the definition of perfect. 

But even perfection starts to crack. And those cracks just keep growing when Ana gets assigned to tutor Nicholas 'Nico' Barrera for English. 

Nicholas 'Nico' Barrera was a T-Bird. He was Cuban and lived with his mother Isabel and his older sister Elena. He was smart, no doubt about it, but it's hard to try when no one seems to care.

All of a sudden, Mr. Daniels seemed to care when he assigned Ana Davis, princess of Rydell, to tutor him. 

Every Tuesday and Thursday, at 2:15, Ana and Nico were in the library. Studying, learning about everything, including each other. Sparks flew and Ana panicked. 

This boy made her feel important, special, that she was something more than her family's name. But they could never be with each other, it would never work. 

They thought until Wally broke up with Ana and showed up the next day with Rosemary on his arm. So Ana let herself fall for a boy that could ruin everything she had worked so hard to maintain and she couldn't care less.

Nico and Ana managed to stay a secret for about two months. It wasn't an easy two months. The only people who knew were the T-Birds, Cynthia, and Olivia. They were always careful, making sure no one would know.

You can't plan everything. After unknowingly getting caught by Dot, the next day, Ana arrived at school to a vandalized locker and rumors spread around that Ana slept with the entire Rydell High football team. 

So when your reputation is up in flames, you can either run away, embrace it, or give them something new to talk about.

So when you're forced to be perfect for the last 8 years of your life, all that anger bubbles up and it has to go somewhere at some point, right? 

Yeah, after a rather brutal fight and a two week suspension, Ana was a new person. A person who was still one of the smartest girls at Rydell but also a person who didn't care about impressing anyone anymore.

Come the 1954-1955 school year at Rydell High brings more drama than Ana and Nico could have prepared for. With drama, comes a group of girls who are sick of how Rydell works against them.

So the Pink Ladies were born.

Been thinking about the Plunderbunnies a little but all I can really do rn is rotate them in my brain, so I wanted to ask... you got any headcanons to share? Maybe regarding their wedding, or being new parents with Boybrush?

Oh boy do I!

....just realized I shout that everytime someone asks me about headcanons and the such.

But yes! Yes I do! I have thought about it intensely for... well, ever. Especially in regards to their wedding. So lets break it down by each thing because I'm that person

In regards to their wedding:

-I always loved the idea that Guybrush had to get his wedding suit tailored because he is both very tall and very lanky. But because of his nerves getting the best of him and imagining all the worst case imaginable scenarios, he shakes like a leaf which causes needles to poke him which makes him panic even more (a.k.a ask me about my 'Guybrush has a phobia of needles' headcanon) and luckily Haggis sees what's happening and manages to calm Guybrush's nerves.

-Thanks to Return, Guybrush wrote with Elaine the invites. He added the haiku and it was a surprise hit... don't ask him to write any more poems/haikus... it was a one time thing.

-Grubby hands is I.... Guybrush stomped the glass at the wedding. If you know, you know.

-I don't know why, but I loved the idea of Wally being a part of Elaine's bridal party over Guybrush's. So Carla and Wally definitely threw an excellent bachelorette party.

-The Barber Quartet were Guybrush's groomsmen. (If Winslow had known Guybrush then, absolutely would be his Best Man).

-Guybrush and Elaine dated for a bit longer before they tied the know officially. Guybrush proposed properly and with a (thankfully) uncursed ring.

-Elaine made the uncursed ring her earring as seen in Tales because one, too big to wear as a ring and two, it's her good luck charm since Guybrush went to great lengths to craft it for her.

In regards to Boybrush:

-Everybody when they heard the news initially panicked that Guybrush would be a terrible father because he's that much of a goof. He not only destroyed but obliterated that fear by being the best husband/father there is.

-Elaine, admittedly, was insulted on Guybrush's behalf that everyone kept asking her if she's feeling safe around him.

-Guybrush stayed up late and read as many parenting/baby books there is so he can take care of Elaine and their soon to be kid. It is safe to say he's the most knowledgeable pirate in that regard.

-Guybrush also panicked endlessly if he was even fit to be a dad. Not that he didn't want to be... he did. Badly. But he feared that everyone's assumption on him had some validity. Elaine had to calm him down that he would be fine... and he calmed her down as well that she would be an excellent mother.

-They were each other's cheerleaders throughout the whole thing.

-It was Guybrush's idea to stay on land during the final months of the pregnancy. He read too many books and the idea that they could be caught in a storm or a battle when it was time scared him.

-Because Meathook moved away, they took residence in his place and refurbished it to be a proper home. They still refer to their ship as home, but this is their "in-between sailing" home.

-Carla saw the extreme lengths Guybrush was going through for Elaine that she had no problem stepping in to help to let him catch some sleep. He was trying his hardest and Elaine would stare, smirk, and go "told you so."

-Winslow and Anemone were the only two to not judge but they knew not to overwhelm either. If they were needed, the Threepwoods knew where to find them.

-After Boybrush was born, Guybrush held him and immediately felt a shift: being a father and a husband was far more important to him. He still loved being a pirate, but that was easily third place.

-Whenever Boybrush woke up in the middle of the night, Guybrush would wake to take care of him... Elaine has done much of the work and he feels this is the least he can do.

-That being said, Elaine has caught him dead asleep with Boybrush in his arms in the rocking chair. She tells him it's okay that she takes care too.

-It shocked Guybrush how quickly Boybrush falls asleep in Elaine’s hold. He has to tell stories to get the child to sleep.

-One time Elaine went to Carla to help with gubernatorial work... they heard snoring and found Guybrush asleep on the couch with Boybrush on his chest drinking from the baby bottle.
