Juniper & Thorn Spoilers
Wow standing ovation for Sevastyen Rezkin for seeing the manifested trauma of his lady love in her monster form and deciding he loved her anyway. My ex couldn’t even handle me (rightly) yelling at him for cheating on me, outright calling me a monster for losing my temper. Wowowowow. When will the universe send me an Ivan who can handle my rage and my hurts and my monster form???

Sooo to me nighteye and all might's situation reflect bkdk. i guess the main reason hori included these quotes here was because the person at stake at this part was all might. But man does it parallel katsudeku. From way back to the start of the series, and throughout the series.
Tumblr media
> The need and want to save the other: 'prevent the future in which you get killed' + 'searched for a way to change things'.
Are these not things izuku did try to do for katsuki?? and what katsuki DID DO.
just some incidents between the 2 boys that i can think of relating to the quotes for now:
- sludge incident
- LoV kidnapping aka one of izuku's self-deemed top failure (soon to replaced by what he saw he was too late to in ch 367)
- katsuki helping izuku train ofa
- katsuki saving izuku's life
- even izuku leaving UA to ensure his loved ones(ahem kacchan) weren't targeted
pls i want to crawl into both of bkdk's minds and scribble everything down.
Tumblr media
> on a similar tangent, related to this above panel, katsuki also faced a gruesome end that awaited him, and continued down that path.
Tumblr media
> katsuki got up and faced the undoubtedly terrifying shigaraki, and still tried his best to win. In a bid to keep the image of victory izuku knows him to be, a subtle nod to the class where izuku and katsuki were paired up against all might, and izuku got angry at katsuki for considering the idea of giving up just because he didnt want to use izuku's power/cooperate.
i wanna squeeze more out but for now all i can do is to scribble down some parallels i saw between these duos. basically bkdk has eaten into my mind.

Fabian, a powerful Siren who has brought down massive galleons for his papa without breaking a sweat, has been beating his head against a wall trying to figure out what kind of song will enthrall Riz, the lone fisherman of a dinky dinghy, who's seemingly immune to his voice.

would you guys be interested in venom/the magnus archives crossover fan art
#I wanna draw the guys as avatars#also I think it would be a fun challenge to try to make Venom visibly an avatar of the hunt#because they already look like that#but I have ideas for the others :3#venom#venom comics#venom movies#the magnus archives#I’m going to elaborate in the tags because I can#so Eddie is 100% an avatar of the corruption#and is also the type of guy who willingly became an avatar#he’s so deranged he would be enthralled by the wasp nest in his attic#he would be a victim of the lonely though#like especially comics!Eddie#because his bond with the symbiote is so deep that like. being singular sends him into a depressive spiral#flash is an avatar of the slaughter#but he’s not deranged like Eddie his was more of a result of his situation#like being a bully and then joining the military#very slaughter coded#and yes he’s made up for the bullying so I’m not sure how that would play in?? but he still does have some anger issues#he’s a victim of the web#like one the alcoholism is classic web#and two being manipulated. like the whole agent venom arc where he was essentially being blackmailed by jack olantern#venom is a manifestation of the corruption#an avatar of the hunt#and probably also a victim of the lonely#like I think the idea of being alone as a being who’s whole purpose is to bond and connect with a host would be devastating#recently I think they could probably also be a victim of the desolation given that everyone important to them keeps fucking dying lmao#I’m kinda second guessing myself with flash because he’s just so damn normal like he doesn’t revel in war but I also want to give him one#do any of my followers know both of these. if so please help me out I’m struggling with flash 😭

so i'm taking a break from the dune craze to continue reading the mirror and the light, and as a leading authority on these books as well, what would you suggest reading after finishing the trilogy? i know nobody did it like miss mantel but is there a book with writing that good, similar vibes or characters like cromwell? i'm scared all that's going to be left are her other books😭
there licherally is nothing like it anywhere. I'm so serious. to me anyways lmao I was genuinely in a reading slump for like a good three months post the mirror and the light 😭😭 I have since come to terms with the fact that ill never read a better book than wolf hall ever and there is a certain freedom in that but. yeah maybe someone else got something?

I LOVE that d20 is doing a horror fairy tales season, the vibes are immaculate.
plus they all seem hyped to do it, siobhan and lou talked about doing a fairy tale season years ago on adventuring academy but I wasn’t sure they were ever going to do it
(rip to the siobhan jack and the beanstalk and lou rumplestiltskin that exist in my head tho. but at least this way lou gets a chance to play a character that’s not a rich asshole lol)

saw a post i simply couldn't agree with. which was hating the slog of early game sdv... but it's so fun though! it's like camping. there's something really appealing to me about changing the perimeters of your engagement of a game to make really small accomplishments feel like huge wins. scraping together 2500 gold with a single bar of inventory by the egg fest to get 25 strawbebby seeds is like. actually meaningful in the first year! catching silver star common fish with your dinky rod after your skills practically atrophying from level 10 fishing and seafoam pudding? having your whole day changed by finding an amethyst in a garbage can? that shit is fun as hell idk what to tell you

I think Daemon and Alicent as a couple work so well they would make each other better and worse at the same time.
What do you think?
to me daemon and alicent cannot, for all intents and purposes, ever exist comfortably in the same space (unstoppable force, immovable object) and there is like. no scenario in which they’d ever be coupled. HOWEVER. as a rhaenyra girlie. i think you can’t understand her without BOTH of them so that opens a lot of space on the playground to try out ways for them to coexist in different scenarios

OBJECT OF OBSESSION.
as a child, danny's entire identity was constructed by his father, to imitate his father's. as an extreme (partly subconscious) act of rebellion, and ultimately because danny felt that there was no other rational option, he killed him. it was his first premeditated murder. his first "design". but daniel johnson senior was a tough son of a bitch. danny was younger, faster, trained to be lethal in every sense of the word. it did not matter. daniel had more experience. he was meaner. daniel was not shocked, when danny finally initiated his plan to murder him. "finally got it in you, huh, danny boy?" — "is that all you got, maggot?" — "can't even sneak up on an old man?" admittedly, it was a violently emotional act. a crime of passion. the first time danny had ever felt any real passion, at all. his father's mocking words stirred an anger inside him, opened the proverbial floodgates of every feeling danny had compartmentalized and internalized. danny beat his father to death, bludgeoning daniel's head into the ground until it was just meat and mush. and daniel was still mocking him, still laughing at him, as the blood obscured his face. until there was no face at all. just a gaping hole. finally, danny's horror story was over. finally, he made the horror stop. and, consequently, the ghostface’s horror story began. danny, and by extension his persona as jed olson, now exists to facilitate the ghostface's long and complex story. a perfect design. a more perfect truth. a more perfect version of themself. danny is obsessed with control, because he had no control of his life as the child of a murdering fascist. the ghostface is an ideal. a personal ideology, poisoned by his father's ideologies. better than flawed, emotional, human danny johnson. he is, first and foremost, obsessed with the ghostface. but danny will always have his personal obsessions, tempted by his human parts; envy. loneliness. love. yearning. validation. rage. rage. rage. danny can become obsessed with people he feels "empathetic" towards, or else he imagines and fantasizes that there is a connection between himself and the object of obsession. he may view them as a friend, or rival, or lover (or varying combinations of these relationship-forms; fundamentally seeking a complimentary companion, overall). completely removed from the machinations of the ghostface and their brutal, solitary designs. completely danny. a liability to the ghostface—  which danny eventually, inevitably kills (or, the rare alternative: the obsession kills him, by design, forfeiting his existence for theirs. because someone has to die. and he enjoys being morbidly poetic).

Epithet erased spoilers under the cut btw
But I’ve been listening to the audiobook in little bite sized pieces like a weird advent calendar only to be opened on business days and oH BOY. If you’re getting it for Christmas or planning to get it, you’ll have a good time. That’s all I’ll say up here.
OH FUCKIN BOY! For the fellow book readers, I just got through chapter 5 and how I want to hate Lorelai- I want to hate her, BUT FUCKIN’ CHRIST!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a case of “lack of parental guidance making a kid grow up terribly” wind up so functionally bad! It could be worse, it could certainly be worse, but it’s so obvious she’s just following in her dad’s terrible, god-awful footsteps that it stings. This bitch- my bad, witch needs a fistful of reality and therapy. The Blyndeffs should go to family counselling or something, they’re all messes up. I saw that “avoiding everyone and then covering it up with comedy” thing their dad did in like idk ch 2 or something. You don’t just live in your own world for a reason. I’m on to him.
And don’t take that as me justifying that man’s behaviour, the only way he qualifies for as a father is legally, he’s not a real dad in any way, shape, or form. I just think these underlying things are interesting to think about. I may not be able to hate Lorelai but I do hate her dad.
