in honor of the new spider-verse movie i did a quick study of one of my favorite shots from the original !! <33

I am rewatching bridgerton s3 again before part 2 drops and am hoping beyond hoping that Hyacinth will turn out to be bit of a tomboy when she gets her story

#she’s always running after her older brothers when they do some cool shit #Like how in ep1 Benedict Anthony and Gregory run out of the room to try out that new bow Colin brought and Hyacinth the lil cutie #just scuttles after them. plus doesn’t she like LOVE to leave her brothers in the dust and best them in everything?#I think Colin mentioned that she always wants to win everything and we all know that she always tries to one up Gregory #so like I want her to do some ”boy“ stuff in her story?#to be independent/have her own head a bit like Eloise?#but she also actually does something like Kate? maybe also riding? or going on hunts? though I think maybe that’s to fsrfetched the time #maybe they stick to the bow & arrow detail they introduced this season? would be nice too…#with the riding it doesn’t even have to be like competitive riding/betting on a winners and more like just. general #general contact with horses. just seeing her brush their fur or pet them…#I just think that if we have Benedict’s artsy type in the family we need a sporty girl/jock as well. and I want that to be Hyacinth #OUUU MAYBE FENCING????#we saw the 3 bothers fencing in their garden. maybe Hyacinth just nags them long enough & they eventually teach her/she picks up some moves.#THAT WOULD BW SONCOOL #bridgerton #bridgerton s3 #hyacinth bridgerton #minee

pretty sure i just got a spider bite while trying to fall asleep 🧍

#i thought it was just a stray hair on my elbow under the blanket and kept trying to shake it off #and then i finally went to brush it off w my hand and felt a bump there #and then it was unbearably itchy so i turned the lamp on to apply some anti-itch stuff bc it was driving me nuts #and i was trying to see where it was on my elbow bc wtf when did i get bit #and then i looked at it and it was very pale like a fresh bite and then there was some skin torn like a spider bite #i cant tell if theres two little holes or not and honestly idk if spiders always leave two fang marks fjdkdl #but it doesnt look like a mosquito bite unless i tore the skin myself from scratching at it #but the way it is looking... very similar to past spider bites #anyways i just removed everything from my bed and methodically searched Everything. looked all around the bed too. cannot find a spider #so. shrug. <- actually very afraid #but the thing that makes me Really think it's a spider is that the bump was super pale and now after a little while it is regular skintone #so that makes me think it was a brand new fresh bite the way it was a different colour and now its normal looking #which is uhhh scary! to have had a spider possibly in my bed!#and I can't find it so i simply do not Know and that is going to make it so hard to sleep tonight fjfkdl #man i barely ate today too so im just... really not doing well at this very moment fjfkdl #i cant eat anything rn though bc i already brushed my teeth and i dont want to do that again tonight fjfkdl #but i am. so hungry. augh. idk what I'd even eat anyways im too anxious to stomach anything #WHERE IS THIS SPIDER. the mermaid one was done a while ago but I wanted to share it since its dear to me (despite the godawful mistakes in anatomy and angles). I usually struggle with backrounds but I think it turned out fine there,, also something about its vibe is special to me,,, feels somewhat nostalgic

I love your RW art month tiles. What art program do you use and how do you get those really clean textures and shapes?

I use PaintToolSai, both 1 and 2- but most of the drawing gets done in SAI1 since I couldn't get my brushes to import right for 2. Its an extremely bare bones program all things considered (Sai2 less so, it has a bit more tool-wise, but I only draw in it if i *have* too or for minor stuff) so its nothing really fancy being employed, everything geometric I do just by using a self made grid to measure out shapes like you would a piece of paper.

Literally its just a measured out grid of like... 50 by 50 px squares with cross sections? I just paste it as needed and draw the lines around it and since the measurements are consistent it just works.

my default pen is already "crunchy" so being perfectly matched isnt a huge deal, and you can general paste and rotate to make it look a little cleaner. Honestly I've used this same grid for forever (and it was off by like one pixel at one point lol) its just really useful for quick matching things for a program that doesn't have stuff built in for lining things up As for the textures, those are all default to SAI (I think?). The brush I use lightly uses of fabri (which mostly just makes the edges of the brush grainier) and then I usually also put some various level of a layer texture overlay thats just one of SAI's default 'watercolor' textures. It mostly just adds a little bit of a noise/grain effect. Heres that on max

For ArtMonth itself I just draw out a tile canvas using the grid with all the layers broken up- then I just reuse it over and over as needed. There's probably smarter ways to do it, but eh it works

And yeah, theres just two borders. One for the bottom and one for the top, makes it easy to make something that goes 'in and out' of the tiles without having to think to much. Just snip as needed
