Do you have recs of toku with handsome older men?

one of the greatest questions to receive...

firstly you should definitely get into ultraman if you're not already! as a lot of ultra shows will have a handsome defense team captain character. my faves for this are mebius, x, ginga s, and ultra galaxy mega monster battle and its sequel.

the short-lived tomica hero franchise, rescue force and rescue fire, had a similar "team with captain" approach and i'd rec both of those for this too. (well, iwanaga was pretty young during rescue force, but. you'll see.)

best kamen riders for older men likers: showa shows from '71 through stronger for cutest ever mentor tachibana-san, hibiki, fourze...? might seem like kind of a weird pick but i've always been a fan of the villainous school staff, amazons, build.

shows where older miyauchi hiroshi was commander to a hero team: winspector, solbrain, i can't in good conscience tell people to watch ohranger just for him but it's an option.

shows with nakata jouji face performances (i wish there were more of them in this genre bc he served cunt): flashman and liveman, both recommendable for many other reasons too.

and a few other picks off the top of my head: legend hero samgugjeon, a korean toku you can watch on youtube, for dilf of all time wang yun (screentime minimal, sadly). similarly telling people to watch ryusoulger for master black seems silly of me but like... i do love him. and the currently airing dogengers metropolis has hagino takashi as this guy whose deal i don't know yet but i love his vibes.

Any chance I could get some non-Rider/Sentai reqs? I've watched all of Garo, Highschool Heroes, Akibaranger, Cutie Honey the Live, Gridman and Kamen Rider '71 through to Amazons. I plan on finishing Kamen Rider and moving to Ultraman then Sentai, but I would love some non-big 3 stuff to watch inbetween.

rob what show do i start next. the one my friend picked randomly from the krdl misc page turned out to be a real miss so i need smth new to put on my board....

hmmm, miscellaneous toku... i haven't seen a lot (and some of the ones i've seen like cutie honey or bima are a bit tricky to recommend for aggressively horny or low budget reasons, respectively) but the first one that comes to mind is pretty guardian sailor moon? i was never a sailor moon fan outside of that but it's written by toku queen yasuko kobayashi and it was a super charming show. some of the romances they focus on are a bit dull but the main girls are all great and there's lots of iconic moments. also with you being a big ryusoul fan the three masters are all main pgsm actors so that'd probably be an extra bit of fun

as for other shows... i haven't seen it myself but i've heard nothing but good things about tomica hero rescue force, if you're in the mood for something goofy with a lot of heart

also, have you seen tokusatsu gagaga? it's more of a drama about tokusatsu than actual toku but it's a must watch

Japan Box Office 2018: Detective Conan Zero the Enforcer Became Top-Grossing Anime Film

As 2018 wrapped up, the box-office figures for Japanese anime films and live-action adaptations of popular manga and anime released from January to December are arrived. 

  The top-grossing anime film of 2018 was Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer, the 22nd feature film based on Gosho Aoyama's long-running mystery manga series was released in Japan on April 13, 2018. It made a massive 9.18 billion yen from its domestic run, becoming the most successful film in the franchise and the second top-grossing Japanese film of last year, behind only Japanese idol Tomohisa Yamashita-starring medical drama Code Blue: The Movie that earned 9.23 billion yen. The 23rd film The Fist of Blue Sapphire is already set for release on April 12, 2019.

  Meanwhile, Gintama 2: Okite wa Yaburu tame ni koso Aru (The Rule is surely there to be broken) was the most successful live-action film adaptation of Japanese manga. The sequel featuring the

same cast and staff members from the first film in 2017 made 3.65 billion yen, which was slightly

short of the first film's total of 3.82 billion yen. While the cast have expressed their desire and

anticipation, the announcement for the third film has not yet been made.

I don’t know if you’re still doing the toku recommendation thing but if you are what would you recommend for someone whose watched all heisei phase 2 riders up to Exaid. If it helps my favorite one is ooo.

So my recommendations are: Legend hero, tomica hero rescue force, ryukendo, Lupinranger vs patranger, kiramager and gekiranger.
