Kevin Day isn't actually a coward, Neil and Andrew just have very different ideas of what it means to be brave. Kevin is a survivor. He spent most of his formative years walking a middle ground of being useful but not so much that he showed riko up. He had every reason to be afraid of riko. He was the only one that truly understood what riko was capable of aside from Jean. Neil and Andrew are fighters, they are all or nothing types, they don't understand how someone could walk a middle ground just for something that resembles safety when they fought so hard to not give in to threats until it threatened someone they care about and almost killed themselves in the process. Kevin didn't even know he was ALLOWED to fight back because that was never an option. Leaving the only life he's ever known was so much braver than anyone gives him credit for. It isn't until he has something to fight for and is given permission (not just by the moriyama's and Neil but by himself) to be his own person for the first time that he is able to defy his abusers.
It's not cowardly to do what you can to stay safe. Not everyone has Andrew and Neil's blatant disregard for their own personal safety. Being afraid of pain and death is perfectly reasonable.

Kaeya had always been an efficient and hard-working individual (he had to be to support Diluc in the background as his brother rose thru the ranks after all).
He has so much free time because he completes all his work way ahead of schedule. And if he still has enough time, he adds more to the workload in secret.
And once all of that was done and over with, he makes time for everyone. He has to. He feels as if every moment has to be given to someone else.
No one knows how he does it. No one has to know.
Every mission has a dozen strategies in line, and every battle plan is made with efficiency in mind. His perfect record will not be tarnished. He can't risk it (even if it baffles others that he would willingly activate a ruin guard just to prevent a failed mission. Jean disagrees with his methods, but Kaeya can say that the results say otherwise)
He needs to be quick.
Efficient.
Perfect.
And so he comes and goes like the wind.
Kaeya values time because he knew every second counted. He can't just stand there as if he were frozen. Time could run out in an instant.
Kaeya had only been late once his entire life.
He'd rather he never be late ever again.
It took one day of being of being imperfect for everything to fall apart. On that tragic day...had he gotten there on time... then maybe...
.
.
.
" Come on, let's get moving, traveler. We're not frozen in place after all. " Kaeya teasingly says. He stiffles a giggle at the traveler's exhasperated sigh.
"Yeah yeah, we've heard enough of you calling us a slacker. Can't you be a bit more patient?" Paimon whines at him.
Kaeya snorts, but acquiesces, hiding the shaking of his hands at the thought of being idle.
He imagines hearing a clock ticking.
Kaeya knows that that is his own problem. He tries his hardest to relax as he waits for the traveler to finish whatever they're making on the alchemy table because, seriously, it is supposed to be a relaxing day. There's nothing major going on, and his schedule is once again empty as intended. What's the hurry?
Kaeya taps his foot on the ground as he waits. He wishes he could take his own damn advice when he tells others to relax.

no but like javert has to have long hair so that he can keep it up perfectly tidy like the rest of his appearance and then we see it a bit messy before the confrontation and then after jean valjean sets him free it's all loose to symbolize how he feels like he's lost all control over his life you need to understand me

probably has been done several times but aftg!trc au:
Kevin as Gansey: privileged background on the surface, the Royal (Queen, in Kevin's case, obviously he CANNOT be the Raven King) ("so... what do you know about EXY?")
Andrew as Ronan: the most infamous and most unapproachable, loyal to Kevin/Gansey through and through. (though, in terms of the Lynch brothers, Andrew is more similar to Declan than Ronan imo)
Neil as Adam: horrible father, paranoid, vicious and merciless, particularly when being protective
Nicky as Noah
Jean as Blue
Jeremy as Henry
Aaron as Declan (misguidedly protective, antagonistic sibling; though honestly, Aaron fits better with Ronan and Andrew with Declan)
Riko as Kavinsky
Wymack/Abby/Bee as Maura/Calla/Persephone
Uncle Stuart as the Gray Man (with Kengo as the Gray Man's brother?)
might add on to this as I think of more...

tbh i think after logan resets the past at the end of days of future past and wakes up in this timeline that's better than he could ever imagine it'd be very hard for it to settle in his mind that this is real and he gets to keep it.
like, after decades of living in a dystopian hell he's not going to wake up in seemingly in paradise without having some sort of ptsd or residual nightmares from before where all his friends died horrible deaths that he couldn't stop. i feel like to him, scott and jean would feel more like ghosts than people for a good while because if we're operating under the assumption that days of future past happened in the same timeline that the original trilogy happened in, it would've been about half a century since logan had last seen the two of them alive and well. i feel like to him it would be similar to knowing you're dreaming and waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole way through.
and then after that there's the fact that he has no idea who he is in this timeline now—that's what i feel was implied, anyway, with how he woke up years in the future and couldn't remember anything past 1973. but he still has relationships built up with the people there and he's an entirely different logan than the one who woke up in his place. so i feel there would be some fumbling there as well, to figure out those relationship dynamics again. unless you just want to assume that things went about the same as the og trilogy minus the plot of the last stand.
idk! i feel logan wouldn't bounce back as fast as it seems he would. think he would have nightmares and be overly-wary and always feel like he's on the cusp of losing this too good to be true world he's stepped into. but i also feel he would soften some of his rougher edges—in the og trilogy he seems more like a flight-risk than anything, still bouncing from place to place and coming back to the x-mansion for a few people, but here he would stay for more than just jean and rogue—clings on for all the kids he couldn't save the first time and the allies who became close friends over the course of them living out that first dystopian future only he remembers. just thinking out loud

it’s insane to me that when it comes to prime directive stuff, that picard and beverly share the same brain cell, but it’s never one of the good ones
it's either they disagree and beverly is right (but (sometimes) for the wrong reasons??) or they agree and are both wrong

still not finished with The Sunshine Court but let me tell you there is something so unexpectedly hilarious about shifting from Neil “I don’t swing” Josten’s demisexual narration to the two horniest motherfuckers on the planet

do we think jean was allowed 2 get his stickers from the nest ever…. Did they ever mail him some belongings……. the few things he had…… everything in me tells me No but my heart wants to say the the ea president had his stuff like mailed out due to stephanie’s request or something. do u think kevin ever got him some of the stickers and postcards when he traveled (bc we know kevin too had postcards on his wall……) im ill dayurno. renee and jean need to go out on a little shopping spree and he needs to get more stickers and magnets
MORE STICKERS AND MAGNETS I AM SERIOUSLY ILL MY STOMACH HURTS i cant do this anymore............................ i dont know if jean ever got any of it back but the idea that jean moreau likes stickers. and he likes magnets. and he was a person, a real person, not a punching bag, someone with interests and hopes and fears and dreams and a past and a future and and and and. do you get it. i feel like when a character has been through so many horrible things we are bound to forget the little cracks of light but isn't it insane that he had stickers. isn't it. isn't it crazy that life was horrible and jean is more scar tissue than skin but he had stickers. my god he had stickers. and he had magnets. and he thought edgar allen looked like a pretentious coffin. and he was thankful to renee. and he was ready to die but he liked stickers. DO YOU GET IT!!!!!!!! he was ready to die. but he liked stickers. this is fucking me up

thinking about Jean joining The Trojans and how that's going to go. AFTG came out about ten years ago and the series is set about ten years before then (2006-7 for AFTG and TSC will be 2007-8). There's not a whole lot of common knowledge surrounding mental health at that time compared to today.
We get to see the Foxes figure stuff out on their own because a lot of them have shared experiences (addiction, abuse, family trauma) but that's specific to their team. The Trojans are described as "more normal" and I'm a little worried about how they are gonna handle Jean.
Physical touch on teams is something that just happens: arms thrown over shoulders, hugs, pats, (even slaps on the butt on my team haha) and all that. Communal spaces for showering and changing is also just everyday life, being comfortable in vulnerability. The Foxes have boundaries with these things but I highly doubt The Trojans do, especially considering the time.
basically I'm interested to go into TSC with a 2024 perspective in a very 2000's world.

Something something soulmate au in which you dream little moments of your future up until you meet your soulmate for the first. The catch? First, you dream only of your future with your soulmate. Little moments of you two together. If your soulmate isn't there, you ain't seeing it. Second, it is a dream. Not everyone is going to remember those. Third, it stops once you meet your soulmate.
Now this but JeanMarco. And I don't know about Marco, but Jean 100% remembers his dreams. It just sucks because more often than not there's more people around so, you know, finding out who's actually the soulmate takes some time on his part. Also he takes notice of the fact that he only sees moments of his time as a trainee. Aka something happens. Cue to Jean spending all his childhood trying to understand what his dreams are trying to say and eventually trying to keep them both alive during Trost.

People seem to be very invested of late, increasingly in the past few years, of the concept of things needing to be “perfect” to be praiseworthy.
The number of reviews, posts, etc that are titled something along the lines of “flawed but great!” Or “not perfect but still good!”
It’s impossible for anything to be “perfect”, that doesn’t exist. But people feel like they have to tear things apart and criticize them to the moon and back before they’re allowed to voice their approval.
We’re so stuck in this perfection-culture in which something is either perfect, or it’s horrible and never should have been interacted with to begin with it’s always been awful and disgusting and anyone who likes it is stupid and should- (fun fact! Anything in the former category will eventually be examined deeper and inevitably relabeled as the latter because, again, perfection doesn’t exist!)
