Training Episode: Unchanging, Even In One's Dreams

Cain: The dreams you have are always so intense, Master Sage. Could you tell me more about that latest one?

Cain: Let's see, it was the one where Snow was an adult, and me and Mithra were his henchmen.

Akira: Oh, yes. Riquet and I were in a different organization that was in conflict with yours, though…

Cain: By conflict, you mean I had to fight you guys? I dunno how I feel about that…

Akira: Oh, no, it never came to that! But one time you did stop me from running away when I was scared… Seeing you be so threatening gave me chills.

Cain: I can't believe the version of me in your dreams would do something like that to you. Next time you see him, be sure to chew him out for me.

Akira: Ahaha. Now that I'm awake, it just sounds funny. Besides, it wasn't like you were a super scary person in that dream or anything. Once I actually got to talk to you, it was obvious right away what a friendly, kind person you really were.

Cain: What, really?

Akira: Yes! All of the best parts of you didn't change a bit.

Cain: Ahaha. Getting complimented like that is a little embarrassing. But rather than that being kindness, I'd say it was…

Akira: Was what?

Cain: That the me inside your dream wanted to become friends with you, too. Since, hey, that was what I was thinking when you and I first met, Akira.

so I do wonder about season 3 supposedly being book 4 pretty much entirely because we haven't really gotten book 3 yet. so i'm like thinking about what really happens in book 3, right. the main plot lines are:

Rand running away and being largely absent from the book all together

Moiraine, Perrin, and the homies chasing down Rand across the continent

the Wondergirls being recruited by Siuan to hunt the Black Ajah and being sent to chase them to Tear

Mat delivering a letter and then going rescue the wondergirls when he finds out about Rahvin targeting them

And like this all converges on them in Tear when Rand takes Callandor and the Stone of Tear falls

and Imma be honest. None of this is extremely vital to the point where it can't be dealt with more quickly or elsewhere.

The most important plot point being the Callandor thing, which probably needs to happen. And while I've seen people suggest that Callandor might be in Falme for some reason, it feels wrong if Rand al'Thor doesn't get to take the Sword that isn't a Sword from the Stone that isn't a Stone

So let's assume that it is going to happen in the show. Does it need to happen next season?

Because the only real reason why it should happen before book 4's storyline is because of the Aiel. The Aiel need to find Rand so that he can go into the Waste and all that. So Aviendha, Bain, and Chiad are in Falme. We might be able to write a way around the Aiel needing to take the Stone of Tear right now if we just have Aiel bring Rand around like "look we think this is the guy." I mean, some of the Aiel still doubted Rand after book 3, so its not like it would create conflict that wasn't there already and it might make some of the conflict make more sense.

But what about Callandor? Well, Rand does shit all with Callandor for several books, so why does he need to take it now? And given that the main point of taking Tear other than Callandor was to defeat Be'lal, who definitely isn't surviving the Forsaken purge, there's no immediate reason to take the sword, and specifically not taking it might give some people reason to doubt he's the dragon longer.

And then, speaking of Be'lal and Rahvin, we obviously don't know for sure, but most of us are working under the assumption that their roles are going to be given to Sammael. Sammael is already dealt with later in the series as it is, so why not make the time in which we deal with Sammael the time when Rand takes Callandor? The Stone of Tear falling later might solve some of the later series's lack of important feeling climaxes anyway.

I feel like it just might make sense to rearrange the plot on this but I know that people won't like me even suggesting that's what might be happening lmao

anyway, at the very least we know we're getting some plot points from book 3 because we're gonna get Faile and some other characters then that didn't show until book 3 (they have already been cast and everything so its not like they're maybe gonna be cut), so ya know. its not gonna be a straight up adaptation of TSR no matter what even Rafe says because there's gonna be at least those book 3 plot points

This episode is jam packed full of action, emotion, angst, beautiful shots, and an awesome cliffhanger

Ok first of all let's start with the CHASE

Guys GUYS okay the way Gordon goes off to search for Braman and we know that the Hood also knows about Braman and we're just waiting for him and the chaos crew to show up

The way we all panic with Gordon when they do show up (and hello that shot of the chaos cruiser!) and Gordon's slick manoeuvre to get away and his heavy breathing whilst he's hiding. Like we're now like ok this is real this is more than just a normal encounter with the hood. Gordon is actually terrified

But he knows the risk of what's going to happen is worth it because although he has no idea where or who Braman's transmission is coming from, he knows something is UP and he is willing to risk his life for a robot (something he has previously shown distrust in- see chaos part 1 & 2- so this just further shows the risk he is willing to take)

So he goes for Braman anyway and we think oh maybe he might make it out of there and then BOOM Braman starts singing and no surprise really because it was never going to be that easy.

Now the chase is on which is a classic in Thunderbirds. Chases always happen. And we're thinking that Gordon might get away. Barely. But he'll get away.

And this seems true when he dodges their missiles but then. THE DAUNTING LOOK on Gordon's face when he realises they were never actually aiming for Four, but were actually aiming for the wall. And they hit it. And Gordon knows he can't get away and it's gonna hit him, so all he can do is put on his helmet to minimise the damage.

And then there's nothing.

It's quiet. The only thing we hear is Gordon struggling to activate his emergency call, and John's response. John who doesn't seem to be too worried at first, but then when his baby brother doesn't respond he goes into full blown Panic

And then we get the best sequence in the whole god damn show. Thunderbird Two launches with no countdown. No words are said. Virgil and Scott exchange a look and us viewers just KNOW what they are saying to each other.

AND THE MUSIC GUYS THE MUSIC THAT PLAYS WHEN THEYRE ALL RUSHING TO THE SCENE

And let's also talk about THIS moment

This shot. My favourite shot. Fuse lit up, like he is Gordon's saviour. Like he is going to rescue him. The way this shot lingers for a few seconds in just quiet

Then we see Fuse's conflicting emotions when he sees the crumpled tb4. When for a moment you think he's going to save Gordon instead of Braman. When the side of him controlled by the Hood wins out (God I would love to have seen a chaos crew backstory as to how they started working for the man) and when he takes Braman back to the ship, he shows very real worry about Gordon's wellbeing. And we see how little the Hood actually cares about the Tracys.

Then of course we get the rescue (Penelope rescuing Gordon!!) Then the other chase with Kayo vs the hood and chaos crew. And Brains' cryptic message to forget them and finish what Gordon started and rescue Braman

Later we get the soft scene of all the fam in the hospital and a broken (but thankfully alive <3<3) Gordon, and a cute pen&ink moment.

And then we end with the cliffhanger! Jeff is alive!! And this sets up the rest of the season to go and rescue their dad!

Introducing my super cool RWBY rewrite that is definitely better than literally anything

Hey guys, this is my RWBY fanfiction universe. All ideas are mine, I just think... I dunno, RWBY kinda sucks so I'm making my own, better version. I'll call it... RWBY: Rescued or some other vaguely pretentious title, idk. Hey, John and Jane RWBYson! Thanks for subscribing to my project! Or anonymously stalking it? It's hard to tell sometimes.

Now I know I already introduced Team RWBY, and everyone loves them, I'm happy! I'm just gonna add a little dude here, no it's fine! He's like a side character, nothing more. Like an ally, Ruby's first friend, he leads the other team, it'll be really cool I promise. His name is Jaune btw, no, NO big deal. Just trust me on this. I'm the superior writer, remember?

Um... sorry guys. Over the weekend I just got a really big spark of inspiration, like... the Muses struck me from the heavens above. So I'm sorry, but... I'm going to make a quarter of the first Volume entirely focused on Jaune, the Volume that is crucially formative to the cast and entire series, which will cause a ripple effect so bad that a consistently large number of fans dislike him in my series 10 years later, but also find it hard to imagine the story without him at this point, like a lukewarm relationship you don't know how to feel about.

But it's fine! The show is still called RWBY and I plan to deliver on that, not like those hacks at Rooster Teeth stepping on Monty's vision. That's the rhetoric I'm supposed to use, right? To make you hate me? To make me into an easy strawman to hate and dismiss? GOT IT, just making sure, lol

I'm going to voice act as him too, btw. No big deal, I'm sure this won't affect my treatment of him whatsoever. Oh, but here's Neptune. He's voiced by the other dude writing this, and we're gonna write a love triangle between the characters we voice and Weiss, one of the main leads. That counts as a character arc for her, right? Right, glad you understand. Oh, Neptune? You actually liked him and wanted him around? What are you, fucking sexist? God. Make sure to tell your friends how cool my story is

Next, I'm going to have Pyrrha's entire screentime devoted around Jaune, and even after she dies, only Jaune is allowed to process his emotions regarding her death while Ren, an Asian dude, and Nora, another girl, prop him up. I'm also going to bring her death up every two years like 2-3 times to really milk that man pain. What does Ruby the main character feel about this? Oh don't worry, she'll talk about it with another character I'll add in. I'll even have her say Keep Moving Forward™ to really sell the audience's Ruby's pain and really stoke and stir your anguish. Her anguish. Moving on.

Eh, something feels off, there's not enough conflict... Let's have Cinder run Weiss through with a spear, for funsies ig, because I have this post-it note on my monitor saying Jaune's Semblance and this is the perfect moment. I'm also gonna give Jaune this whole ass emotional outburst, 1-on-1 fight and confrontation with Cinder since she killed Pyrrha and awakened all his angst.

Ruby? Uh... yeah, she can stand there I guess. I need to remind the goddamn audience that YES, I still remember silver eyes exist, gawd. I have to do it every few Volumes or I can sometimes forget the protagonist in my female-led story exists - man what a pain, I bet I'm gonna be pressured into creating an old lady to teach her or some shit in the Volume right after this one. Whatever, I'll have her disappear in 2 years, they'll never know she left. Anyway OOPS Emerald knocked Ruby out, thank god she's out of the way so I can squeeze in a shot of Cinder stepping on Jaune and really rub that pain in. God, Jaune really needed this, so glad I did that

Fuck it, Jaune kills Penny too. I dunno, it just feels right, y'know? Nah... I don't think Ruby or anyone is the right person for this, and I don't think we've really, one hundred percent explored just how deeply Jaune can angst over dead women; women who could have grown into full, complex people with rich arcs and relationships using all the screentime I parasitically extracted from them via sudden, unwarranted death. Penny, like, she really needs to fuckin' die for this. Her death is worth having to retread this same tired fucking emotional arc if it's for my boy, know what I'm sayin'? Good, glad you understand

Alright, it's the Volume finale. Team RWBY and Neo are falling into the next story arc. Great, people really wanted this - an entire Volume just focused on the title characters together. The fans have been on my ass asking for this since Volume fucking Four. It's alright, I GOT THIS. I FUCKING GOT THIS! It's simple! This is perfect. But... I mean, I shouldn't... but I really... maybe horis point is some VERY optimistic view in bnha world that the next generation is more understanding and less violent. like idk maybe shouto and shouji could have ended up violent in their ways but because their classmates werent evil shitheads and they made friends they managed to not be swallowed up by the worlds ugliness. (im saying this with a "this is a battle shonen/fictional story" mentality and logic. irl the only way to change anything is through protests/violence/wars)

Mmh, well, I don't disagree about the limitations of a battle shounen manga. I'm well aware of them. However, I think the problem in bnha is that the writing often doesn't follow up on its own set ups.

Let me try to clarify this. It's true that Horikoshi doesn't seem interested in writing any actual change on a societal scale. I probably went into this expecting it to be a story about something else, and that's on me. I can't fault Hori for not writing what I hoped to read.

However, while the overarching point might not be fixing social issues, Horikoshi did set up the hero kids as people who want to break from the mold. Bnha is largely a story about mentors and mentees, but take Deku for example: his mentor, Gran Torino, was certain Shigaraki was long past the point of saving, and admonished Toshinori against sympathizing with him. Yet, despite the fact that Deku normally thinks his mentors hung the moon, he still goes against their judgment with his resolve to save Shigaraki.

So the set up is that Deku will eventually see past their hero/villain labels and acknowledge Shigaraki's humanity.

Problem is, the story is nearly wrapping up, but we're still lacking a proper follow up. It just stays a resolve, but there's no action that supports this.

The hero trio is supposed to be headed towards rescuing their villain foils, but any common ground they have with them always takes the backseat. Every time there's an opportunity for them to act and do better than their mentors, the kids revert to being angry and perpetrating the mindset of the previous generation. This is shown most clearly with Shouto, who unconsciously repeats his parents' calls for Touya to "just stop" (and in the process, keeps scapegoating him as a bad victim who keeps inconveniencing others instead of just moving on).

If anything, I'd say that the problem is exactly this: positing one side, the good guys, as the "good victims", and the villains as the "bad" ones. It drives attention away from the fact that they've both suffered unjustly, and postpones indefinitely any attempt for a dialogue.

Now, bnha probably will never go as far as dismantling the perpetrators that caused that suffering on both sides of the current conflict. Think of how his solution to the corruption of the Hpsc was killing Madam President and replacing her. But I think it would be nice if the story could finally move away from that good vs bad, black vs white thinking and show us the heroes' growth instead of dangling in front of our eyes like a carrot on a string. The point is for kids to be more understanding? Then show them acting like it. If you cannot make them empathize with the villains yet because that's too fast, at least show them actually listening to what the villains are saying. Ffs, Touya is Shouto's brother but Shouto didn't listen to a single word Touya said.

Does this make sense? I Don't know. I think I'm gonna drop the subject for now tho, since talking about this in circles doesn't help getting rid of my frustration

Talk Fast- Five Seconds Of Summer

"Here we are." Pope pulled up.

"Talk about home security, are these spikes to keep people out?" JJ asked.

"Those are the slave quarters... these spikes are to keep people in."

"This place gives me the creeps." I shuddered, as Pope knocked the gold lion door knocker.

"You must be Pope." A creepy old guy opened the door.

"The instructions were explicit, your friends can stay outside." He led Pope inside.

"I have a bad feeling about this." I groaned as we walked back to the car.

"What do you think they're talking about." Kiara asked. "Look if Limbrey's legit, then Ward gets arrested, and Sarah, Rafe and Wheezie get the gold."

"Hold on, does that look voluntary?" I pointed to Pope who was getting dragged outside.

"That would be a negative." JJ said starting the truck, "Looks like they're headed to the alley, we'll follow them out back."

We drove around back looking to see in between the houses, if Pope was there.

"I don't understand where did they go?" I asked.

"What if they wend underground? 'cause in C.H.U.D., when they took people down into the sewers, it would turn the humans into humanoids 'cause of the radiation." JJ went on.

"Focus. That doesn't make any sense." I shut him up.

"right, sorry. Did you see him?"

"No."

"Wait." I quickly hopped out of the truck.

JJ and Kie followed, Pope was beaten down to the floor by the mysterious guy.

"GO!" We all hopped in the truck and JJ floored it.

"Hurry." I yelled, causing JJ to almost hit a couple walking in the street.

He took a sharp turn causing the truck to erupt with smoke again.

"You said he fixed the carburetor!" JJ yelled.

"Not the time!" I jumped out of the car.

We all ran as fast as we could.

"Guys! I think he has a gun." I yelled, picking up my pace.

"Save the reunion." I hopped on to their cart.

We eventually lost them and headed back to the boat John B and Sarah stole

We exchanged stories as we rode back to OBX.

"So uh, what's going on with you and Kie?" John B asked Pope.

"Uh, honestly I don't know right now, man. I mean, I definitely like her, and I'm sure she likes me. But there is conflicting data." Pope sighed looking down at his feet.

"All right, man, look, women, all right, like they're just not consistent." JJ hopped down from the top of the boat, and sat down across from his conflicted friend.

"All right, we're not gonna take female advice from JJ, i mean he is screwing the kook queen and is to scared to tell her he loves her." John B laughed.

"Hey, we only kissed!" JJ defended himself.

"That, is how you get a confession." John B pointed at a now flustered JJ.

"It's confusing man, I really like her, but with all this Rafe shit, she is scared that if she leaves him, he will do something stupid, or he will hurt her."

We were walking back, carrying our watermelons, when we overheard JJ talking.

At this point in the night we were all high as a kite and as drunk as a skunk

I changed into my swimsuit and JJ's hat and Glasses, I sat on the edge of the infamous 'Cat's Ass' with Sarah laughing at all the stupid shit the boys were doing.

The night died down and we just sat around the campfire laughing as Pope and JJ wrestled.

He boosted Sarah and I up and climbed up with JJ.

"So your sister and girlfriend are Pogues now?" Barry chuckled looking at the tree.

"Demi is too smart to hang out with them." Rafe laughed with Barry.

I don't even know if this is nine. I don't care, Am I a piece of shit? Was that selfish? I am just doing what I think is right, I need to protect them, even if it means letting them go.

Good evening my liege! 💖 I was intrigued to find out about you while diving deeper into tumblr hell so, I am here with a plead to ship me with nct and svt, of you'd be so kind ✨

Alright so for starters, I'm an infp! I'm a generally well-mannered person with people I meet for the first time, borderline sweet and awkward at the same time. I like not to overinvest in first meetings with people and sometimes I think I am somewhat defensive of myself. My emotions always show on my face, both the good and the bad ones. So if someone does say something that I find offensive or whatnot, it SHOWS. I generally hate rude and offensive people all together, as well as people who are vulgar if we're not well acquainted first.

I'm not good at starting conversations and I usually just tend to listen to my friends talk most of the time. It's not like I have nothing to say but I really like listening to my favorite people ramble on about things they love or generally talk about their lives. Im a pretty good listener and I am always objective, even with my family. I won't hold back and I will give you my honest opinion in every case. I always try to see from all perspectives, maybe that's why I'm often somewhat indecisive.

That being said, I really don't shut up about things I love or my hobbies. I'm usually the mood maker of the group as I hate conflict and tension. I am a very sarcastic and cynical person in general and that reflects on my humor, which can vary from vulgar to very dark and inappropriate. Yes, the type of person that will try to hold in their laughter cause I made a mental joke to a funeral. I love witty, stimulating and deep conversations. I'm not that big on casual chitchat but it's okay most of the time I guess.

I'm the personification of open-minded and im also quite opinionated and I can back up my arguments if needed but I tend to avoid getting into heated conversations cause again, my mind reads it as tension. I love being around friends doing nothing and everything but most of the time, I find alone time to be very healing for my mind and soul. I find authenticity and weird little quirks that people have extremely attractive. I'm somewhat stubborn as well.

I also used to have stress and anxiety issues, not anything serious but enough that I had trouble sleeping at night. It was just a few years ago that I decided to not care about every single thing and have a more of a "fuck that" approach in life and honestly, I've never imagined that it would be so liberating. I regained my confidence, physically and mentally, it was an empowering process! I really do believe that self-exploring and healing is the no1 most important thing that someone can do. Love yourself first and foremost and fck what anybody thinks.

So, moving on xD I am a romantic and soft deep down, even though I try not to show sad emotions when around people. But you can be sure I cry at random rescuing dog videos, or videos with people helping each other. I love humanity but hate it at the same time? 😂 Idk if that makes sense, it is what I feel lol I love to learn new random stuff! I'm currently studying linguistics and uni and I aim to be a translator or interpreter, cause i love languages and the cultural differences that come with it. Hence my undying love for music of different genres and languages! Music relaxes me and I couldn't imagine going on without it for more than 3 days. While I do tend to listen to kpop which is more upbeat and experimental, I also LOVE Latin music and rock. I love love traveling around the world! My hobbies include drawing which I'm self taught, fashion and creative writing! I tend to daydream A LOT during the day and so many ideas pop up in my head. I love exploring other cultures' religions and beliefs as well as mythology. I always found it fascinating. I love plants as well! My room is basically a garden xD I also love mystical but also borderline creepy and gory stuff xD I call skulls "pretty" the same way I would call a puppy "cute" 🤣 I'm aware οf that but I can't help but enjoy the look of horror in people's faces xD

oh, I really enjoy observing people as well! Not in a weird way! Their mannerisms, the way they speak, their features. I also love thriller and horror movies the most as well as dark social drama ones. You know, with murders, suicides etc I like how in even the tiniest ways they depict our society as people and frankly, it's sad but I try to be optimistic and keep a positive approach in life. I also really appreciate stand-up comedy xD

Closing up this huge essay, some last things xD I, and I cannot stress this enough, am unable to flirt. Like at all. I can't even maintain eye contact for more than two Seconds. I wish I was kidding. Sadly I'm not 😂Weird thing is, turns out I am actually able to flirt but I'm not aware I'm doing it?? I'm a master at text flirting apparently lololol. What I am, is also called DENSE AS SHIT when it comes to couple things. True story, if you want to do the freaky with your s/o and you need me to leave the room you better TELL ME RIGHT TO MY FACE or else, we gon be there aaaaall night xD And its actually a remarkable feature of mine, considering how dirty minded I usually am lol

I also think I'm touch starved sometimes, like I really like hugs and cuddling and teasing but I'm not gonna ask for it🥺I'm a night owl and I tend to procrastinate a lot. I can't work efficiently if there's not a deadline, like I need that pressure on me in order to function xD My weak spot is actually to act whiny and needy and cutely in front of me. I can do ANYTHING that u ask me of when this happens. And if I show any resistance, JUST KEEP IT UP. I'm jelly on the floor when this happens. Idfk why, it just works?? My sister is abusing the sht out of this method 😭I can't say I make friends easily, cause I believe I do come off as maybe off-putting or weird at times, plus as I said if you're really cant shove your conversation in my face the first time we meet, imma be just an awkward ball of giggles and smiles and "can I go home now pls" 🤣 My general aesthetic / vibes would be sunsets on beaches, soft grunge, cottage core, lofi and hedge witch aesthetics!
