Another of mine and @scara94‘s warriors kids - Weaselcloud! He’s the biggest, softest, sweetest boy who needs a lot of hugs. He has the other half of Jayfeather’s powers, he can read other cat’s minds but only when he’s in contact with them. He can also send thoughts/feelings to them but again only when he’s in contact with them.

When I saw Longtail was wotw on Twitter I had to do some art for my and @scara94‘s PO3/OOTS Re-Write AU. Longtail is deputy in our re-write, and serves as an authority figure that’s always in camp who is easy to find in an emergency but is also just great at keeping everything running.

Short story to go with this under the cut!

Pheasantpaw stared at the entrance to camp, letting out a long sigh. It'd been exactly 2 moons since her littermates, mother and Brambleclaw had left for the Tribe and they still weren't back. Had something happened? What if the Tribe hadn't been as welcoming as they'd hoped... Not for the first time she wished she'd been allowed to go with them. Maybe she didn't have any amazing StarClan given powers but at least she'd know what was happening - anything had to be better than this nervous waiting! She kneaded her claws into the soft sand beneath her paws in frustration, so lost in thought she didn't notice ThunderClan's deputy approaching until his pale tabby pelt was at his side. She jumped, alarmed and a little guilty to have been caught sitting around, "L-Longtail! I-I-" "I could hear you sighing from the other side of camp," the blind tom gave her a playful nudge before taking a seat at her side. He gave her a pitying look, "Still missing your littermates huh?" "Yes, sorry Longtail I know I should be doing something more-" "That's not why I came over," Longtail cut over her apology with a wave of his tail, "You have nothing to apologize for. The Clan is well fed, our borders are patrolled and Sandstorm can finally spend a minute in camp. I thought she was going to collapse you've been working her so hard." Pheasantpaw gave him a small smirk, whiskers twitching as she relaxed, "I think she knew what she was getting herself into when Firestar made her my mentor." Longtail let out a purr of amusement, "I supposes she did, yes." He sat up straigher, taking a deep breath. "All joking aside," he took on a more serious tone that made Pheasantpaw nervous, "I noticed you've been...keeping busier than usual lately. And for someone who works as hard as you that's saying a lot. If something's wrong I want to make sure you know you can always speak to me in confidence." Pheasantpaw shrunk backwards a little, curling her tail around herself. She knew her father had noticed how hard she was trying to make herself useful, but she hasn't realized she'd made it so obvious even the Clan's deputy was worried. "I just...I guess want to make sure everyone knows I'm just as good as my littermates," she mewed vaguely, lowering her voice, "I don't want them thinking they're better than me just because they got to go on this cool journey." A dark expression crossed his face before it was taken over by a somber sadness Pheasantpaw couldn't understand, "I know what it's like to have friends you want to impress. Don't lose yourself trying to make other's happy, Pheasantpaw." Pheasantpaw froze, the fur on her hackles raising with surprise. It felt like his blind gaze was penetrating every corner of her mind, unravelling all her secrets. But that was impossible, not even Weaselpaw could read cat's that easily. "Promise?" he mewed when she didn't answer and she was glad he couldn't see the way her paws shock. "I promise, Longtail," she hated how much her voice shook but if he noticed he didn't comment on it. Immediately he dipped his head and the tension cleared, a smile lighting his features. "Good, now come, I think I can hear Mousefur complaining. Leafpool's had her paws full since Larchpaw left with the others, why don't we go and see what she's grumbling about?"

Do you think the older warriors in ThunderClan take bets on what ridiculous name Bramblestar will come up with for cats?

Thornclaw lost 5 days of patrols to Cloudtail for Twigbranch. No one but Cloudtail saw Twigbranch coming. Thornclaw doesn't take part in the bets anymore after that.

You and scara94's pot/oots au looks so freaking interesting. Could you say more about it?? Like just in general I want to know more. Is the fanfic being posted anywhere? Thanks! - fire-of-the-damned

Thank you so much!! I’m having a blast with the AU and I know @scara94 is too! Unfortunately there’s no fanfic being posted as yet but it’s definetly something that could happen, we’ve both written parts of it privately for each other.

The whole AU is centered around the idea that the three are the kits of Squirrelflight and Shrewpaw instead of Leafpool and Crowfeather. Shrewpaw’s warrior name is Shrewnose and @scara94 made them ridiculously adorable together. I don’t want this to be a massive 5 page essay about how much I love this AU so here is the run down of our main cats:

The three are Hollyfang (replaces Lionblaze), Weaselcloud (replaces Dovewing) and Larchsight (replaces Jayfeather). They have very different personalities from the canon cats and slightly different powers for fun!

Hollyfang’s power means she can’t die. She can be hurt (even mortally injured!) and feel the pain but she can’t ever die. 

Hollyfang is also a massive lesbian and loves Honeyfern. <3

Her mentor is Brightheart (because Brightheart deserves an apprentice damnit!) and she goes on to mentor Briarlight later on. 

This girl is 100% tradgedy and 900% an absolute ball of spikey sass.

Weaselcloud can feel other cats emotions and read minds! He can only do it at first when he’s touching the other cat but the more he reads a cat’s thoughts the further away he can read them. He’s connection is the closest with his siblings.

Weaselcloud is the softest boy. He is the definition of a cinnamon roll and we protect him.

His mentor was Cloudtail, who he had a massive crush on as an apprentice. Brightheart and Cloudtail caught on and obviously it never went anywhere but they still tease him about it (so does his entire family).

He and Cinderheart are mates and honestly they are so soft a gust of wind could blow them away.

Larchsight can see into the future. She can follow the pathways of every decision or action and see the outcomes.

She’s also the smallest of all of them and looks a lot like Leafpool. Cats assume she’s quiet and patient but her siblings know the only reason she hasn’t thrown someone off a cliff is because she’s not allowed to as a medicine cat.

Pheasantfire caps off the kiddos. She’s our powerless emo child and I adore her. She starts training in the Dark Forest with Mapleshade as her mentor.

Pheasant is usually the one in the group with the brain cell until it comes to anything emotional because this girl is a mess. 

She also has some cross-clan relationship drama, her mate is Ivytail of ShadowClan who she met in the Dark Forest.

Her actual mentor is Sandstorm and poor Sandstorm had to deal with a lot. Pheasantfire never sits still and never stops unless someone physically holds her down.

Some last fun details:

Longtail is the deputy of ThunderClan in our AU. He sticks around camp to keep the peace and cats feel comforted to know Longtail is always there to take care of them. Firestar spends more time out in the forest because no one can tell me that nosey little shit stopped snooping in everyones business as soon as he became leader.

Squirrelflight and Shrewnose are adorable together and I love them and that is 100% @scara94‘s fault!!

Brambleclaw actually gets on well with the four kids. Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw’s relationship is very strained and awkward at the start of our re-write but they patch it up as time goes on.

Dovewing and Ivypool are still around but this time Ivypool is envious because Dovewing gets Firestar for a mentor while poor Ivy gets stuck with Ashfur of all cats.

There is a tonne more but this post is already pretty long. Thanks again so much for the ask. It’s so so cool that you’re into our AU because we love it and want to make more stuff for it!!
