Five Reasons Why Mexico Is usually Our Hot Indian Wedding ceremony Destination Favorite
When this comes to planning a destination wedding, the a single decision which has a make-or-break influence is the location. Regarding Indian destination weddings, there are tons of favored spots within and outside the country – a person just need to make your pick. Of past due, Mexico has become a very attractive option for Indian location weddings, and it’s not with out reason.
Tumblr media
Read on to determine why Mexico is our hot favorite for Indian Destination Weddings:
1. Stunning Beachy Backdrop
Everyone desires their wedding locale to be extremely picturesque. After all, it’s the background of their wedding photos and all social-media nearly all. Here’s where Mexico will be gold - it provides some of the many gorgeous beachfronts and indoor venues that require minimum decoration befitting any shaadi function. Resorts in Quintana Roo (Cancun area), Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Cabo, and Puerto Vallarta are extremely beautiful and particularly suitable to host big fat Indian Weddings. If you are keen to tie the particular knot by the ocean, Mexico is the place to be!
2. Money Issues
International beach wedding locations could possibly get very pricey. Remarkably though, an Indian wedding in Mexico typically costs lesser than places within Miami, the Bahamas, Lemon County, or even many parts of Europe. This particular is because many accommodations in Mexico offer all-inclusive packages that include hotels and meals on the per-room rate for huge bookings. This can assist you save really the pretty penny when the food and beverage requirements are really large. If you’re enterprising and also ready to take some risks, you can bag good deals in the winter months; the elements may end up being dicey but you may plan contingency measures forward and make the whole affair a lot more economical.
3. Not Many Weather Issues
The best time in order to be in the beachy Mexican environs is from December to April. This is incidentally also the period when many Indian wedding ceremonies are planned since numerous auspicious dates fall within the December-February months. Within these months, the elements is mild, ranging between 20-26 degree Celsius. October plus November are the wedding ceremony off-season months here although it is still possible to host a perform in this time. You simply need to are the cause of the particular likelihood of rain and avoid morning-time outdoor events since it can obtain pretty hot.
4. Wedding with Vacation Vibes
The beauty of getting wedded in Mexico is that it combines the satisfaction of tying the knots with the excitement of a vacation. In fact, many couples often stay back or travel to the near by (more lavish) holiday resort for their honeymoon right after their destination wedding within Mexico. Also, guests are at liberty to discover local attractions as properly, which makes the special event more memorable on their behalf as well.
5. Planning Stress? Low!
The most modest good thing about getting married within Mexico will be the ease of planning. It is well-connected by air, with plane tickets from major carriers around the world flying in/out regularly. Also, resorts in the more frequented areas are skilled in hosting large wedding ceremony. You won’t need in order to be worried about anything at all; the food, the venues, the service – this all works seamlessly given that they are experienced within hosting Indian weddings.

Past Anniversary Travels
Sharing our tradition of taking wedding anniversary vacations
Austin: Honeymoon on a Budget
Tumblr media
Solomon and I spent our first married life vacation in my home state of Texas. We took a South Texas wine country tour, tried a German town eatery, found an authentic French bakery and had a banh mi picnic in a state park. The biggest expense was staying at a lake resort. It was such a memorable experience and didn’t cost us more than $1,000.
San Francisco: Seeing the West Coast through New Eyes
Tumblr media
We hustled to save for a year after our wedding, and then we decided to take a grand vacation to California. It was my second time visiting the Golden Gate Bridge and Solomon’s first time seeing this wonderful city. We took a few tours and saw the wax museum to take photos with celebrities. We probably ate at the harbor almost every day. And our biggest expenses were the hotel and Uber rides. We also learned that we could never share an Uber to save money!
New York City: Big City Trekking
Tumblr media
We lived in Texas for two years after getting married, and then I ended up changing my job and moving closer to my in laws in Kansas. As part of my initial training, I was asked to spend about 3 weeks in Newark, New Jersey. Since my flight was already covered, we figured we could save money and take a weekend to explore New York City. We took the train to travel from Newark into the Big Apple and stayed in a swanky hotel near Central Park. We took Uber on the first day and then learned to take the subway to get around. We accidentally learned the World Trade Center is a humongous international shopping mall because I needed to use the restroom after seeing the fountain memorial. We only vacationed for 1.5 days in New York City and ended up spending close to $1,000 to see and do everything our hearts desired.
Tumblr media
Cancun, Mexico: International Love
Tumblr media
My sweet cousin happened to be getting married in Cancun on this year, so we postponed our wedding anniversary vacation and dedicated our trip to Cancun to both her nuptials and our first international anniversary trip. In high school and college, I had studied Spanish for four years and was so excited to practice with the locals. We took an ocean fishing tour, ate a fresh Bonita (tuna) prepared by a chef in our favorite resort restaurant, enjoyed fish tacos by the ocean and drank as much free Tequila as we could. The total cost amounted closer to $4,000 including air travel and the all-inclusive resort stay.
Tumblr media
St. Louis: Local Midwest Gems
Tumblr media
After spending so much money on travels in years prior, we decided to minimize our expenses and took a local vacation to the biggest city in Missouri. We stayed in a historic hotel that also had a movie theater for guests, took a brewery tour and tried a few new restaurants.
Branson: Cabin Away From Home
Tumblr media
Solomon’s friend had just purchased a cabin near the Lake of Ozarks so we decided to pack our bags for an anniversary cabin getaway. I’ll be honest, by this time in our marriage, we were losing the magical romance and just needed to force ourselves into spending quality time together without distractions. Luckily, the cabin didn’t have cellphone service so we were forced to talk to each other for entertainment! It was a much needed vacation away from the daily errands and work obligations. And despite the cold weather, it was comforting to be at the lake.
What do you think of our anniversary tradition? Do you have any of your own? What are your favorite cities to travel to? Comment below so I can get some new ideas too!

14th March 2018
Woke up at 4am today to get out of the hotel and get to the airport for our flight to Cancun. Wasn’t very happy about that. 😑 but we grabbed an Uber and headed straight there. Checked in fine, went and grabbed a donut and a coffee in the gross, old fashioned airport that is JFK before boarding our delta flight. The flight felt longer than the one to New York even though it was an hour shorter. I don’t know why? But we landed no problem! Unlike the plane ride in the New York where we circled for about an hour and sat or the tarmac for another 20mins.
There was a huge line to get through immigration but eventually we got through. Then baggage claim-YAY BOTH OUR BAGS WERE THERE WAITING FOR US! Then through customs. The line moves pretty quick, they read your card asking if you have anything to declare, then they ask you to press a button. The light turns green but every so often it turns red which means a random bag check. A woman jumped in front of us as she had filled in the form wrong and was told to come back to the front. So lucky she did though, cos instead of us pressing the button and getting red, she did! Yay!
Ash had booked us a private van transfer through Canada transfers, sooooooo good!!! They have a sign with their name and yours on it and then lead you to the van. They give you wet towels to wipe your face and we got coronas for the 45 min drive to our resort!
Once we arrived at the resort our van door was opened for us and the staff insisted on taking all our bags. They asked us to sit down and offered us a drink straight away. Of course we ordered two margaritas. They also offered us more wet towels for our faces. And hand sanitizer! Then we were lead to the ‘romantic offices’ to check in 😂. They picked up our bags and lead us to our room. IT IS HUGE!!!! It’s like the size of our entire downstairs. We have a bloody spa in the bedroom/living room! The bed was covered in rose petals and spelt out ‘Happy honeymoon Mr and Ms Morris.’ 😂😂😂 there was a bottle of champagne on the table with two glasses and a small wedding cake. We have a giant balcony with a hammock. We have 24 hour free room service and a mini bar that is refilled like three times a day!
We headed our pretty quickly to the pool to get a swim and a drink. We jumped in the hot pool before going down to the beach and lying on a bed looking out at the sea. It was beautiful. There are lots of tourists here though. But it’s still so nice just to relax!
Later that night we went to one of the all inclusive restaurants and ordered pasta and steak. Best dinner ever because we got some dinner guests!! Lots of lil stray kittens!! I named them all and took lots of photos which I think annoyed the staff as they are seen as a pest. 🤷🏻‍♀️😞
We headed back to the hot pool and got in. There was a group of loud Americans all holding thermo mugs and tumblers. They cake over to talk to us and were actually really nice! They come to plays del Carmen every year and totally know how to play the resort. They get the bar staff to make their drinks in the thermal cups that way they get more in one trip, it stays cold, and they don’t have to go back as often. We talked to them for a while before we headed back to our room to chill and finally sleep after a big day of travel and relaxing.

San Diego Wedding Rock Star :: Photographer Jennifer Edwards
San Diego Wedding Rock Star :: Photographer Jennifer Edwards
You ask who the hay-eck are the “San Diego Wedding Rock Stars?” Brideys, they are other San Diego wedding pros I’ve done weddings with here in the 619 or have networked with–awesome, talented, friendly wedding pros…you know, the kind of vendors you probably want for your big day. Drum roll please…let me introduce you to Jennifer Edwards from Guided By Imagination Photography.
DJ Staci asked, and Guided by Imagination Photography answered…
How did you start doing weddings?
My cousin asked me to photograph his wedding, which was a bust for me creatively. His bride was so nervous and self-conscious that she didn’t want me to do any bridal portraits. At that time, I was not yet skilled in directing the wedding party to have more fun and let their natural personality shine through.
The wedding was at a church in Ohio, and they didn’t want any photos taken outside. I was using a small digital camera and my 35 mm. During the bride’s procession down the aisle, the film started rewinding! Aaah! To make matters worse, there was no alcohol served and the reception was held in the church’s basement. That resulted in most guests sitting around (no dancing) and just eating. After that experience, I had no desire to do weddings again.
Six years later when I moved to San Diego, a friend was running a yacht charter company and offered my services to some of her clients who were having a small wedding (12 guests) on one of the yachts. My decision to say yes led me to start my own photography company and leave my cubicle at a downtown advertising agency.

Most interesting thing that ever happened at a wedding you worked?
At the Love Burn festival in Miami, I photographed a superhero-themed wedding. During the ceremony, the favors were LED bubble guns & ray guns. Half the guests were dressed as superheroes and half were villains. They participated in games and feats of strength to test each other and determine which group would reign over the event…with prizes, of course! Toasts were given with megaphones, not microphones, and it was a very memorable event.
What is your professional background? Do you attend workshops to improve your craft? Have certificates/degrees?
I have a Bachelors in Fine Art with a specialization in Visual Communication. I regularly attend WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International conference in Las Vegas), which features various speakers sharing what’s cutting edge in the industry. I also actively participate in local San Diego groups like WICP (Women in Creative Photography) and PPSDC (Professional Photographers of San Diego County), which give me a creative outlet for personal work and improving my craft, as well as doing portfolio reviews and getting feedback from mentors and masters in photography.
Favorite wedding blog & why?
San Diego Style Weddings; they are simple and elegant…and also responsive.
Jenny dancing to “Thriller” at her own wedding
When you are not at a wedding on any given Saturday, what would you most likely be doing?
On a non-wedding weekend, I am likely enjoying a family adventure with my husband, Ryan, and our daughter, Jenaveve, who is 2 years old. We love outdoor events, music in the park, beach time, ecstatic dance, and rock star karaoke.
What are your top 3 wedding accomplishments you are most proud of?
1. Receiving kudos and positive feedback from past clients turned friends who request me to photograph their expanding families & pregnancies. 2. Being asked to travel to destination venues in Cancun and the baja to photograph and video weddings. 3. Remaining in love with photographing & video-ing weddings after 11 years!
You as a wedding professional in 5 words or less…
Fun-loving, heart-centered, creative
If you could tell the wedding industry as a whole one thing, what would it be?
Play together, have more fun, and love what you do. Be your Best Self and breathe when situations get tough. I’ve learned these skills more than anything while raising a toddler.
  Jenny as a bride!
If you could tell engaged couples everywhere one thing, what would it be?
Focus on the love (why you are together), choose the right people to capture the day, then celebrate being present in each extraordinary moment with your favorite people on the planet.
Dish about what was important at your own wedding?
We created a “happening” so that many of our family and friends, including me and my husband, could perform their talents. We chose a venue, Queen Bees Cultural Center, that had a stage. We wrote an original song that was performed during our ceremony. The band I’m in played 3 songs during the reception…including a guest performance by my uncle Dick on guitar. My mom sang 2 songs. The groom’s mom and her friend did a performance of “Dancing Queen.” The best was our “Thriller” dance (including our zombie wedding party) with my husband’s MJ montage solo dance. Many guests played interactive costume games & did improv. We ended the evening with karaoke so everyone had the opportunity to PLAY at 100%!
And anything else you’d like to throw in!
Hire a wedding coordinator so that you get to be a guest at your wedding too (and never have to check the time/schedule).

6 steps for organizing your messy photo library
Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering for Apple Inc, discusses the macOS Sierra at the company’s World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco, California, U.S. June 13, 2016. REUTERS/Stephen Lam TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY – S1AETJSFFOAA
Using the most basic digital or smartphone camera, you can shoot thousands of photos, dump them onto a computer and then shoot thousands more. In seconds, you can edit a photo series in ways that would take days to develop in the darkroom. But our images are usually stored on our devices, often leaving duplicates to sort through.
Compound this mess with old photos stored in albums and shoeboxes. It’s best to digitize these before time takes its toll. Click here for the easiest way to scan and save your old photos.
Organizing digital photos takes time and patience, but just follow a few simple steps, and everything should fall nicely into place.
1. Upload your photos to your computer
This should always be your first step. Even in this cloud-based era, most people have a desktop or laptop that serves as their primary computer, and you should dump your images there first.
Mac: The go-to program for Mac is simply called Photos, and it comes free with macOS. Photos works the same way on any Mac, and the photos also save easily to iCloud. Once you’ve attached your camera or inserted a memory card, go to Files >> Import and you should be in business. Photos downloads images directly into the program.
Windows: Unlike Mac, Windows doesn’t have a standard photo editor that everybody uses, but there are plenty of free and powerful options. Microsoft also offers a free photos app, Microsoft Photos, that you can use to import your photos and videos from your camera or phone. You can edit your photos with a wide range of editing tools and create fun slideshows. Click here to get the Microsoft Photos app for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
If you’re passionate about photography, you probably love editing photos as much as you love taking them. Photoshop is one of the best editing programs out there, but it’s also expensive. Click here for a free alternative that doesn’t skimp out on the features you want.
2. Don’t be a photo hoarder
Trigger-happy photographers end up with countless bad pictures. They snap away, not caring about framing or the Rule of Thirds, because they’re just hoping one of those shots ends up perfect.
Luckily, you can delete those extra shots, especially the ones you took to test the exposure or are obscured by your thumb. In fact, you should delete them, not just because they’re embarrassing, but because they clog your hard drive with needless images and make your albums harder to organize.
3. Use face recognition
If you’re using Apple Photos, the face recognition feature is extremely easy to use. Just go to “Faces” and find the row of “Suggested Faces.” Double-click on any of the people you see, and you can confirm or deny which faces belong to that friend or family member. This is an easy way to create albums based on people who are close to you.
Apple doesn’t have the monopoly on face recognition, but many Windows programs require an extra step or an additional plugin.
Tip in a tip: Whether you’re attending a wedding, birthday party, family reunion or other special event, one of the best things is sharing the photos you’ve captured. Rather than email your photos back and forth to each other, click here for a much better method.
4. Add keywords and tags
Looking for a document is easy. Just type its title into your finder, and the document should appear. But images are harder to sift through. How do you make your photos searchable? Change their metadata.
Metadata is basically the hard information that is embedded in every photo, such as the date and location that it was taken. Many photos document the type of camera, lens and exposure, too. Adding keywords and tags makes your photos easier to track down. If you’ve visited the Grand Canyon on several occasions, you can tag all of these with “Grand Canyon,” and you’ll be able to track them all down, even if they’re located in different files.
In Photos, you just click a picture and then hit the “i” icon at the top of the screen. A small window will show you the metadata, and you can instantly add keywords and tags.
When looking at a photo file’s name, you can usually right click for “info.” This will reveal the photo’s metadata, and you can add specific tags there.
5. Create files that are easy to identify
Putting together files is an art because you have to anticipate what photos you’ll be seeking in the future. Keywords help enormously, but sometimes you want to find a whole batch of photos that aren’t exactly related.
You know yourself well, and you know how you’ll end up looking for things. You’ll likely end up putting all the photos from your Cancun vacation in a file marked “Cancun,” and if you travel a lot, the “Cancun” and “Virgin Islands” and “NYC” photos will all end up in a file called “Travel,” and so on.
6. Save the images online
Even if you have plenty of gigabytes available, you’ll want to back up the pictures that you have online. Here are a few ways.
Apple: When you sign up for iCloud, you automatically get 5GB of free storage. If you use all of your iCloud storage, you can buy more, starting at 50GB for $0.99 a month. To see how much iCloud storage you are using, go to Apple menu > System Preferences. Then, select iCloud to view your total and available storage.
Google Drive: This virtual storage site comes with every Google account. Once you open your Gmail, find the features icon in the upper right-hand corner (it looks like nine interlocking squares) and find Google Drive. This will grant you 15 GB of space, which is the equivalent of about 1,500 high-res photos of 10 MB each. Alternatively, use Google Photos, which is designed specifically for images. When uploading, select “High Quality,” and you have unlimited photo storage. These images can be no more than 16 megapixels in size.
Amazon Photos: Among the many perks of an Amazon Prime membership is Prime Photos, which provides unlimited photo storage. The service also offers its own app, which can help you organize your photos on the go. Remember, a Prime membership costs $99, so it’s far from free. But aside from its capacity to organize, Prime Photo is also compatible with Alexa, so you can give commands like, “Play a slideshow,” and “Show me photos of Jane.”
Tip in a tip: Like most people, you probably signed up for Amazon Prime for one reason. Maybe it was the free shipping. Maybe it was the streaming videos or the free music. But even now, several years after Amazon Prime was founded, few people know the full breadth of their membership perks. Click here for a master list of everything you get with your Amazon Prime account.
Flickr: I’m very suspicious of Flickr. Yahoo owns the site and it’s been having epidemic security problems lately. But Flickr helped create the online photo phenomenon, and it’s still a high-quality venue with lots of sharing options. Flickr offers 1TB of storage, which is a colossal amount of space. Like Google Photos, you can easily create physical portraits, photos on canvas and photo books.
