Girl i just opened a fake article that according to all the comments and reblogs seems to be some kind of weird house of leaves style internet novel except it starts with a jumpscare where all the letters fucking jump out at you and i had to close it immediately and i wanna read it but its at the point in the night where im like “what if it has a Uncanny Image and i see it and i shit myself” cause from what i read i can see that the “ads” are slightly abnormal and are intentionally placed so like. What if i look and the person in the ad has Uncanny Valley proportions

i actually can't wait what's after riverdale.
i read a post before and if anyone can link that but it's possible that there are more posts about this topic now, ok so i'm talking about the theory that riverdale is filling the gap or the shoes or the niche that glee left. so yeah i wanna see what's next. it's actually fun to have a ridiculous show to watch and honestly, i like or maybe i even love riverdale, idk.
ok so what if... every generation needs a weird form of media. what if in the olden times, the i'm not like other media, was edgar allan poe's stories, kafka's stories. feel free to provide more examples if there's anyone who cares. fast forward to the addams family comics and tv show in the '60s? maybe twilight zone and the x files even? truth be told, i have not seen the '60s version of the addams family, not even the twilight zone and the x files. what i'm saying is that society needs an out of this world piece of media in every time period in order to survive or evolve. idk i clearly need to sleep seeing it's almost 5 in the morning now. maybe anyone of you can give better examples of weird or niche media from each decade or century.

So my cat woke me up at stupidly late/early o'clock and now I'm getting weird ass ads and video suggestions. Like I was weirded out by how normal the Samsung zombie virus/possession/mind control flip phone ad was. I need to be at work in few hours cat, I don't have time for weird videos and ads, why did you send me down this rabbit hole?

honestly just in general it's very exhausting to try to analyze media that is literally meant to be analyzed, only for the replies to be filled with people arguing not against your analysis, but against the premise that the media can be analyzed at all.
i don't even know what to say about it without starting to really betray my frustration, so i'll just settle with— just don't engage with analysis posts? I'm serious. if you're typing a response to a media analysis post, reread what you've written and ask yourself "is this comment/response against the very concept of analyzing the media at all?" and if the answer is yes then delete it all and go sit in the shame corner. throw your curtains away if you want to so bad and stop telling me that I'm not allowed to hum and haw at the fact mine are blue
