I wish there was a magic skillet I could pick up that would make me literally impossible to fire from a job, no matter how weird or disagreeable people decided I am, where I could still work only part time & ideally with lots of breaks. Like sorry Ms Karen McWasp, I am a load bearing unit and the task will be done when it's done and there's jack shit you can do.
LinkedIn is crazy, man. I'm a programmer outside of indie dev, too, and I see shit like this all the time, or dudes whose work history is being a "consultant" at about 30 fake AI and blockchain startups talking down to early career devs.
I saw one the other day like that, where the guy was lamenting that they "don't teach programmers anything in colleges these days", but I couldn't tell if he had ever been a programmer? It looked like he ran a winery before working as a social media management company, then literally being CEO of, or consultant at about 40 different companies in the past 6 years. One of them publicly complained about people pretending to work there, others seemed fake, all were AI or crypto-related. Like, no one probably checks because no one trusts those fields anyway.
It's like it's all a weird project related to the social media thing, where his "job" is to be a LinkedIn poster just to make things that appeal to "kids these days" types. The welding thing threw me though, and I had to share.
Learning to internalize the message above, but art is in all of our bones. If you feel afraid to create art because it won't be "good enough," it's worth it to explore why you feel that fear. Creating art is one of the basic impulses of people, and if you want to create art, then you absolutely must.
Shaw's probably my favorite operator so far. Firefighter, tiny, good voice, and incredibly hilariously cheesy water blast attack. (Also, I thought Shaw was a little man for like 2 weeks)
Shout out to Cishet White Teenager Christopher Paolini for realizing that if you give people infinite time, a completely non-judgemental society, and the power to change their bodies any way they want, lots of people are gonna start doing Freaky Anthro Transgenderism on themselves.
Like yeah, if I had the option I'd probably turn myself into a bizzare eldritch creature too
