@young-botanical-genius a plotted starter! :)
Percy Wetmore needed a new place to drink. Last week, he had run into Brutus Howell and Dean Stanton after an especially tiring shift, and despite quickly turning around to leave, they both spotted him anyway.
Skid Row wasn't his choice, for obvious reasons. The place was a dump. He staggered out of the pub, putting the argument he had got into with the bar staff in the back of his mind.

Laughing to himself, he had stumbled onto the path, promptly knocking into a frankly nerdy looking dude. "W-Watch where you're goin', you four-eyed lookin' freak!" Another bout of laughter as Percy hiccuped. "Got all your spec's but can't see… see a man walkin' around here, huh?"

Just thought I’d say, the potentially only funny part of the otherwise devastating film, The Green Mile, is Percy getting his family to phone in and get Paul in trouble for kicking Percy off the mile.
He definitely went home like this

to those who don’t think del deserved to die like that; what the fuck is wrong with y’all?? like genuinely what the fuck is going on in your brains? he was a rapist and murdered several people by burning. he also laughed when percy was literally molested. y’all are excusing del being a monster because he had a pet mouse and was called a faggot by percy. the only difference between del and wild bill is that del isn’t a racist. del wasn’t a good person, he was a villian just not to john and the guards. and percy was a closeted gay man that sought reactions from the gaurds, stephen king said so <3
thank you for coming to my ted talk. (i’m gay so i can say the slur)

This is gonna sound weird but Percy is an interesting character.
NO I'M NOT DEFENDING HIM.
He's a well written antagonist.
It's just interesting to see the multiple sides he has and makes you wonder what goes on in his head.
You know, while he's still got something in it.
