🐰 Thoughts: Dynamics With the BB Pirates [1/?]

Potential Trigger Warnings: Mentions of mental illness, depression, thoughts of death

☞ Silva wouldn’t have agreed to go along with the Bla.ckbeard Pirates when they left Mock Town had she been in a better state of mind at the time. The reality was that bun didn’t think there were really any other options left for her- her dream for the future had crumbled, her heart was shattered, and she was spiraling fast. Bun had lost hope. Silva’s decision to leave with them could have easily been the death of her. [And frankly? Bun was kind of counting on it.] And when that didn't happen, she decided to stick around anyway. Bun knows the #1 rule of nature: only the strong survive. Therefore, if she was going to continue onwards, she needed to align herself with a powerful force. ☜

☞ Yet despite being amongst a group of very dangerous people, Silva isn’t in inherent danger. [At least she isn’t in the kind of danger that she’s personally worried about.] Just so long as she stays out of their way, her biggest concern is avoiding getting bowled over/stepped on. [Everyone who makes up the crew is more than twice her height and easily several times her weight. Bun has to watch out! Though most of them are so loud she can hear them coming a mile away...] ☜

☞ Bun is merely there as D.oc Q’s assistant [and does other odd tasks here and there] in the beginning. She’s far too weak to be an actual member of the Bla.ckbeard Pirates. …. At first, anyway. ☜

☞ It isn’t until after the battle of Marineford that Bun is invited to become an official Bla.ckbeard Pirate. She accepts- aside from her pets, the crew was all she had left. The original five members of Teach’s crew are so proud when bun’s first official wanted poster is released. Look at how far their Bun has come! ☜

☞ Silva is regarded as lucky amongst the crew. Even though she doesn’t see how that alleged attribute applies to her, the others seem to emain firm with their opinion. A few even perceive her as a being that brings luck their way; a “good luck charm” of sorts.

And perhaps some credence can be leant to this belief. Bun avoided getting poisoned by Magellan because she refused to go to Impel Down with Bl.ackbeard's crew. And like Teach, Bun also escaped being frozen by Ku.zan when the crew randomly encountered him at a bar in the New World. Whenever something unfortunate happens to the group as a whole, Silva always manages to circumvent the circumstances. ☜

☞ Despite Bun’s various differences with the rest of the crew, none of them are unfriendly with her. In fact, it could be said that she’s decently liked by them. [Though she was quiet and meek when she first came aboard. It wasn’t until she hesitantly agreed to drink with them one night that that a bit of her hidden self slipped out, and Bun’s upbeat, playfully witty side came out to play. Heeey, turns out that seemingly shell of a person has a fun side! Whadyaknow, she does know how to smile!] She's affectionately regarded as the crew's resident little creature™️, and without her around, hijinks cannot properly ensue. Bun's individual relationships with the main members are as follows:

☞ Bun is allowed to have bad days around them. She’s allowed to be flawed, to be all the parts of her that she doesn’t like and tries so hard not to be. Those ill moods and dour states of mind are handled with a surprising amount of grace by her crew mates. It still surprises her after 2+ years of being around them. Bun has known "better" people who have left over much less... ☜

☞ Teach knows right away - from the moment they meet - that Bun has immense potential hidden within her. Sure, she comes across as a weakling, but he can tell she is stronger than she lets on; she is stronger than she knows. And she for sure has much more knowledge and awareness in that mind of hers than she lets others believe. With time, bun could develop into a very valuable asset. Teach keeps an eye on her.

He is one of the first to figure out that she has Conquer’s Haki [it’s how she is able to tame animals so easily]! Teach was also the first amongst the crew to find out about Bun’s past with Crocodile. Though this wasn’t due to intuition. Instead he found out she was kinda-sorta wanted by the World Government when he briefly became a Warlord. They wanted to… ‘question’ her about her knowledge of the Alabasta incident and… silence her so the truth behind their coverup wouldn’t get out. But all they had was a photo of her on Crocodile’s arm. Fortunately her identity was a mystery. Teach had no reason to sell her out to them, but he certainly ribbed her about her former love life the next time he saw her: “Zehahaha, hey Bun! When were you gonna tell us you used to f*ck Crocodile?!” >:)

In a way, one could go as far as to say that Bla.ckbeard personally finds Silva endearing. They've had quite a few philosophical late night talks when neither could sleep due to insomnia. He finds her sass hilarious- to the point of letting her get away with talking back to him. He always laughs her mouthiness off. Zehahaha, that little firecracker really does have the heart of a rabbit! What’s the worst she could do to him, nag him to death?

☞ On the topic of nagging, Bun isn’t afraid to speak her mind when it comes to scolding the recklessness of her peers. Actually, said tendency to nag becomes part of her job in the future. Post Timeskip, Bun often works alongside her husband as something of a secondary support to the Chief of Staff, often smoothing out petty issues amongst the crew or nipping potential problems in the bud before they have a chance to make their way up to Bla.ckbeard. Bun often handles matters in a constructive way, and she does her best to be pragmatic and fair. Everyone knows they can expect Bun to speak with straightforward, well-intended honesty. On the other side of the coin, Bun can verbally tear a person to shreds when she’s in a genuinely bad mood or if the actions of another have personally pissed her off. Most would agree they’d rather deal with Bun as opposed to La.ffitte when some constrictive criticism is in order… but there are some that would actually rather take their chances with the Demon Sh.eriff when they see that trademark grimace twist up Silva’s facial features. Heaven forbid anyone screw up to such a significant degree that they have to deal with both spouses at the same time. ☜

☞ Silva is not a Titanic Captain, but she does keep a very close proximity to a few of them! Those captains being her friends, of course! Bun bounces around between the 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th Ships. It goes without saying that the majority of her time is spent with La.ffitte on the 5th Ship. Bun's official profession is 'Beast Wrangler', though as mentioned prior, she assists with staff management and still pops in to assist D.oc Q when she can. ☜

☞ Several of the crew members [aside from her spouse] refer to Silva with terms of endearment- such as “Honey Bun” or “Varmint”! 🖤🖤🖤✨ If I listed all of La.ffitte’s pet names for her, we’d be here all day. ☜

☞ Bun will allow only a VERY SPECIFIC FEW of them to pick her up and carry her. A VERY. SPECIFIC. FEW. Usually Bun prefers to be plucked up and balanced upon her friend's shoulders, but of course La.ffitte opts to hold her in his arms instead. ☜

Hi! I just saw your addition to a post where you talked about the New Deal and the Civilian Conservation Corps. You provided 3 photos of cabins made through this movement and mentioned that they are in PA. Hey, whadyaknow, I’m in PA, too! I had no idea there was old growth here on the east coast. Outside of Cooks State Forest, do you know where those other 2 cabins are located? I’m in Philly and so Cooks is a bit of a haul for me. :)

I can absolutely help with that! I'm not sure which two other cabins were in the post--there are a bunch of them, and I've posted about them many times. If you specifically wanted to know about those two, I'd have to figure out which post it was and look at the pictures.

But, if you actually wanted was to find a CCC cabin to stay in, that's a lot easier!

Start with the PA state parks reservations system: https://pennsylvaniastateparks.reserveamerica.com/welcome.do?tti=Home

In the "Reserve a spot" section, pick that you're Interested In "Camping and Lodging," and then under "looking for," put "Cabins or lodgings."

Click "Search" without selecting anything else, and it'll show you all of the parks that have lodgings for rent.

The ones built by the CCC are labeled as "Rustic Cabins." Unfortunately, there's no way to filter for that, so you just have to scroll through everything.

There are 10 parks that have them; I've been to the 8 that have dog-friendly ones; they're all great.

From Philadelphia, your closest one is probably Promised Land, which is also a good choice if you're interested in the CCC, because they have a little museum. It's up in the Poconos; really nice park. Reservations can be a bit more difficult to get, because it is the closest to Philadelphia. (Worlds End is also somewhere up that way, but it's further.)

The other thing you could do is take the Turnpike out to what the tourism bureaus call the Laurel Highlands; Cowan's Gap, Kooser, and Linn Run are all out that way and they all have CCC cabins. Those are probably a little further in terms of raw miles, but you make good time on the Turnpike, and they're all reasonably close to the Turnpike. That's another beautiful area. Cowan's Gap is the best choice if you want your cabin to be secluded. Kooser I think has some of the prettiest of the cabins, but they are pretty close together. Linn Run is also gorgeous but has like 2 flush toilets for the entire cabin area; everything else is outhouses.

And then the other 5 are all somewhere up in the Pennsylvania Wilds, which is the tourism-bureau name for the northwestern quarter of the state. Clear Creek and Cook Forest are probably the furthest from Philadelphia, with the others (Parker Dam, Black Moshannon, and Samuel B. Eliot) being up that way but not quite as far.

Parker Dam also has a little CCC museum, which I haven't seen because I was there in the off season and it wasn't open. Black Moshannon and Sam Eliot are the ones I haven't been to because they don't allow dogs in their cabins (the rustic ones, anyway; Moshannon has some of the newer lodging types and they allow dogs in a couple of those.)

But yeah, all good choices; haven't been to one that was a dud yet. And if you aren't wedded to the CCC aspect, the modern cabins and yurts are also good, and the camping cottages are decent. (They're small, and give you a lot less for the same amount of money as the rustic cabins, but they have them at a lot more parks.)

I ended up accidentally getting another job whilst mine is closed during this epidemic. Both a good and bad thing cuzz I’ll miss the sweet sweet sweetness that was feeling alive again in the first time in like 5 years and escaping the retail zombie life.

BUT in one smaller upside from this: I’m finally able to wake up early enough on a Sunday to buy turnips. This is the first time I’ve been able to buy turnips also probably since back when I played animal crossing while I was still in middle/high school haha

¡Buenas noches! ¿Me han extrañado? Creo que han pasado siglos desde la última vez que hablé con ustedes y ahora tengo mucho que contarles. ¿Se enteraron de que Vincent Gilmore organizó una cena en su mansión? Les hablaré al respecto, pero el resumen principal es este: Ni siquiera el choque del Titanic fue tan desastroso.

La noche empezó con buenos modales y sonrisas fingidas, pero basto para recordarles a los profesores Danielle y Jeremy que no estaban casados para que la primera sacara las garras como si estuviera en el mismo coliseo romano ¿Acaso está resentida porque su novio no tiene interés en dar el siguiente paso en su relación? Yo creo que sí, aunque ellos argumentarán temas más vagos como su poca fe a una institución tan sagrada como el matrimonio o que su relación va más allá de lo que la sociedad pueda decir al respecto.  

Y una vez que el alcohol empezó a correr en la mesa también los insultos. Díganme ¿Cuál es la necesidad de denigrar una profesión? A mi parecer, es una actividad a la que recurren aquellos cuyas inseguridades necesitan alimentarse de humillaciones ajenas y, de nueva cuenta, tenemos como protagonistas a la pareja de estirados que conforman Jeremy y Danielle.  

Tal y como Frances junto a Chelsea expusieron, todas las áreas de conocimiento son complicadas si se trata de enseñar a un grupo de adolescentes descarriados como lo son ustedes y, aun así, Danielle no dejó de insultar el trabajo que ha hecho Frances o los avances que Chelsea ha intentado hacer con los jóvenes más problemáticos hasta ahora.

Y con la cena convertida en tierra de nadie se preguntarán, ¿Dónde estaba el matrimonio Gilmore? Les contesto: ¡Ahí mismo! Intentando calmar las aguas, pero ya era demasiado tarde. Vincent fue quien inició el fuego que acabó por consumir su reunión y en un acto digno de alguno de ustedes, abandonó la mesa dejando a Ella sola y con un conflicto tan grande como tener que disculparse en su nombre y soportar los comentarios malintencionados de nuestra pareja de oro mientras salían de la mansión.

Lo cierto es que, tal comportamiento de la profesora de matemáticas aplicadas nos resulta desconcertante pues, pese a los ataques de las otras dos mujeres, no era necesaria tanta hostilidad. ¿Será acaso que se sentía molesta y resentida desde antes? Me contaron por ahí que horas antes tuvo un altercado con un estudiante, terminando ambos en la oficina del director. ¿Quieren saber qué pasó? ¡Pues nada! Dante salió como si nada, ¡hasta lo invitó Vincent a beber con él! Todo gracias a que se disculpó por haber lastimado los “sentimientos de mujer” de la profesora, a quien, durante la clase, le faltó al respeto tras haber recibido una reprimenda.  

Pero bueno, ¿ustedes qué opinan al respecto? ¿Creen que es momento de que se le dé más crédito al trabajo femenino? ¿Es hora de que el director cambie ese pensar retrógrado y machista con el que ha dirigido la escuela y su vida durante tantos años? ¿Es, esta pareja, un par caótico del que hay que mantenerse alejados? ¿Alguien tiene alguna aportación al respecto? ¡Escuchamos sus opiniones! hey im bad at organizing my thoughts so some of this might not make sense at all but i wish ppl would stop looking to humor bloggers/youtubers as celebrities or  fictional characters, they’re all just real people like us sitting in their rooms posting / recording stupid shit for entertainment. behind that you dont know who they are or what they’re about unless they outright say it. its happened so often some popular tumblr blog or youtube channel is so beloved and then whadyaknow they’re a shitty person and wow i cant believe THEY would do that! wow so shocking. in comes the next Popular thing rinse and repeat. i know its impossible to tell these things about people from just what they post online but it just keeps happening you’d think the red flags would be a lil more obvious each time around.
