It is kinda funny seeing people talk about Seungmin lately because he definitely has gotten more bold and confident for sure. He's also just getting opportunities to be perceived as an individual on his own as well for the first time in a while but it's still jarring to see people be like Aw he was always such a quiet goodie two shoes little nerd and it's like...... he was the one to leave and seek out his own vocal coach and blatantly talk about it, which of course lead to I.N and Lee Know also doing the same, he was the one to go on bubble and tell off sasaengs who used to camp outside their old dorm for invading members privacy but also because it effected other residents and staff at the complex, something that i'm certain upper management wouldnt have been happy about, and he wasn't curt or nice about it either. like he's never actually been a wallflower, he's always had a pretty strong backbone and seems to stick to his principals, its not really new.
#even silly shit like bringing up drinking even tho staff has clearly told him not too#like yeah its silly but its still sticking to his guns of being like we arent actually children anymore thanks#the food thing too like in an old 2 kids room he said something about not being able to eat on his bday bc they were filming so evidently#there was a moment in time when he caved to the shitty diet obsession kpop had but ever since hes never really said anything like it again#instead hes telling everyone to eat well and reminding people to have dinner or lunch every other day#even the comment about growing his hair out but then being like lol the stylist probably wont like me saying that or whatever#and like the yeah im going to the gym but im not lifting. dont expect me to bulk up. im doing it for stamina<< that made me cackle#bc i did see people on twt being like but what if seungmin got buff tho omg hed be so hot 🥺 Well him bein buff isnt what this is about#so he went and made sure people were realistic. not everyone needs to be noticeably cut yk#idk maybe bc i watched most all the skz content all the way through#and now i go back and gif stuff i notice patterns more easily than if youve been here for longer and havent watched older stuff#for a while- maybe? idk its just funny but i also see takes a lot and have to stop myself from going No <3#anyway this is my obligatory insane ksm tangent of the week. see you in 5 minutes.#🐶

You know, I'm glad that some of us take the step to embrace things that we like even if they're "cringe" or "objectively bad"
But perhaps we could take the next step forward and embrace the idea of reading into books/shows/movies/etc even if they don't seem deep. Perhaps we could understand that the two kinds of media aren't either "shallow and meaningless so you're weird and brainrotted to read into it" or "incredibly and profoundly deep in every way so if you don't analyze every single angle of the thing then you're brainrotted". Some media is deeper than others, but all I propose is that no matter how deep it seems it's acceptable to dig into the thing and take the media seriously instead of just assuming that because of ____ thing (such as target audience or how cringe it is) the media not deep and will never be deep and everything good about it happened on accident.

#cal rambles#dndads#their relationship is one ive BEEN thinking abt but actually this episode very much solidified it#as something really interesting i think.#BIG fan of Hero being initially raised by all the kiddads and therefore she knows them better than the other teens#i like the idea that theyre all kinda like weird uncles to her <3 yk the family friends that u call aunt and uncle#but aren't actually related to u#anyways. cries#before i was like haha it would be really cute if Hero's inital facination with video games#originated from Grant when he babysitted her as a kid#and then. this episode. OUGFFGGFGH#something something being forced to kill a living being in an intimate and grotesque way by ur father figure#and being told its for your own good. but all it did was fuck you up#one of my fav hcs of Hero is that she inherited the bulk of the oak family anger issues#that is to say. shes got a very short temper but also the tendency to repress it until it explodes#unlike Henry I think she does this partially unintentionally. she forces it down under a layer of apathy#from the moment she was born with the intention of being raised to be the chosen one#her situation has been unfair#and shes been angry at that unfairness for so goddamn long. and there wasn't much she could do about it#so her options were be continiously furious or repress it disassociate and feel nothing#if shes angry she could lash out and she's powerful. oh god she's powerful. she already has blood on her hands. she doesnt want more.#so she keeps it all in a tight little bundle and presses it down where it belongs#you see where im going with this. cries#anyways i just want to see them interact so bad ough i want to chew drywall#grants exposure to violence caused him to enter a disassociative state where only more violence could bring him out of#which caused him to seek more violence despite all the guilt and bad feelings attached#bc he wanted to FEEL something and it was the only way to do that#versus Hero. whos exposure to violence caused her to similarly numb her emotions#except i think more violence makes it worse. the state she has to put herself in to do violence is too emotionally taxing to get in & out of#so she actively avoids it avoids even thinking of it in order to feel like a real person

i love madoka magica however i dont think we as a fandom talk enough about how tragic madoka herself is. probably because the narrative itself steers you away from thinking about her personally. shes not a character shes a desire that homura has, shes a force of good, shes homura's foil. but those are all madoka's narrative roles but madoka herself as a person is not really looked at because we are viewing this world from an unreliable narrator(homura) who only sees madoka as those things. The best thing homura could have done for madoka was give up on her, to let her go. because every time we go back in time the image of madoka is distorted, she loses more of herself every regression of homura's as she tries harder and harder to save her. We don't even know what madoka originally wished for to become a magical girl in the original timeline. and she actually acts quite differently than the madoka we meet. shes a lot more honest and caring and bold. by the time homura's has reached the actual anime madoka has been reduced by the sands of time to a figment of herself. she has no wants or desires of her own beyond wanting to do good and help her friends and when all her humanity is stripped away is when she finally acends to godhood because thats all thats left of her. an ideal and a faith in her. madoka kaname died a long time ago and all that is left is her ghost.
#of course homura doesnt care anymore because she cant go back she can only go forward cuz if she gives up she killed madoka for nothing#she could have left her pass away with dignity but now shes a ghost stuck in a web of time and the only thing she can do is keep trying#to save her#i feel like inately homura knows this but she doesnt want to admit to herself thats shes the real one who killed madoka kaname#this is a very charitable reading of homura#homura died too but its a clear moment because homura is our narrator#homura akemi will never come back madoka kaname will never come back#but life goes on anyway for homura#heres my truth#i loved rebellion but im actually a bigger fan of the original anime's ending so im glad it seems like red ribbon homu is coming back#i thought that ending was a lot more hopeful and beautiful and rebellion was kind of a downer but i always accepted they were parallel#and seems im right based on posters#for walpurgis#madoka uses one of my favorite literary devices which is the underuse of a character#i dont know whats it called but i love it when they dont outright develop a character usually to signal an upholding of the status quo#i already explained how madoka is not shown as a character but they do this in princess tutu too with mytho#mytho is a character from a book hes not real in the way that the others are and therefore cant actually change like the others can#hes always the focus of others and never the one thinking of others#i mean yeah he spends like the whole anime thinking about tutu but thats PART of his book its not him as a person#anyway ive been talking too much but i wanna bring up my favorite subtle use of this in takopi's original sin#the boy#idk his name rn lmao#hes straight up not present for the bulk of the manga and hes legit just absent from the ending scene despite being one point of a triangle#at first that weirded me out like??? he doesnt get closure???#but the reason was he didnt need it#the focus and moral is that those girls were 'weird' unable to be normal (because of trauma) and their closure was theyre at least together#but he doesnt need that because hes already normal hes the status quo a benchmark for the reader for the reader to judge the characters off#and the characters to judge eachother off of#anyway anyway sorry this has been so long#i had to get all of that out of me

also no one I know of the small circle of Genshin players irl is keeping up with the main story right now so I have to go through the most jarring situations sometimes and then just Move On With My Life without DMing someone 8000 times in a row??? Okay.

I did the maths on how many characters and unique alts there are in pokemas and there's DEFINITELY a Unova bias there for alts sdkfjhs
#pokemon masters#pokemas#for the most part the regions are pretty samey for amount of characters who are playable in the game#except for johto and galar that have like 10 less than the others sdkfjhs#unova still has the most (along with alola) but then the number for unique units including alts is SO much higher than the other regions#I also checked out the gender distribution because reddit complains about a female character bias a lot and it's uh very equal#it seems like they go out of their way to make sure it's equal#there are more male characters in the game so they give alts to female characters more to make up for it#now there's definitely a character favouritism bias though I wish the same units didn't keep getting alts#the whole reason Burgh became my fav is because of the alt they randomly gave him#I am dreading when they'll give one of the favs their 6th unit#this includes the new datamined units#also I will say galar and johto have the least but there's very good reasons for this#1. galar is still the new one and didn't have any 3 or 4 star units that the game started with like every other region#2. a bulk of characters from gen 2 are actually classified as kanto characters because of how gen 2 did things#3. both of these regions don't really have its own E4#alola doesn't either but there's extra characters for the island challenge so it balances out

I’m realizing how good my friends are- not just as friends- but how they are all just genuinely wonderful people who make the world better, idk I’ve been going through some early 20’s growing pains recently and it’s just hitting the me that I have people who value me and actually WANT me in their life, and make me feel like I must be doing something right
#I’m slowly and painfully realizing I’m outgrowing my old friends#no bad blood or anything#but I’m realizing how well I’m treated by some of the friends I’ve made in my adult life and realizing#damn#my old friends roll their eyes when I talk about race#and two weeks ago I stayed up until THREE am talking to my friend in our pjamas about how it feels to constantly have to prove yourself#to white people that you are white enough to be taken seriously#and then jarringly moving to a workplace of all people of color and having to constantly prove that you actually are mixed race#and should be taken seriously#and how that leads to us often overcompensating in proving ourselves and just feeling pulled in multiple directions#it was so healing#my teenage friend group jokingly laugh at me for buying stacks of books in bulk and reading a book a week#I mentioned loving Circe to my friends#and TWO of them bought the book on the spot and read it in a week#and the third borrowed my copy and it felt SO good to LOAN somone a book#and feel confident that we are friends and I will see them soon and they will be able to give it back the next time they see me#because there will be a next time and they like having me in their life#I’ve known these guys for three years and it’s just been hitting me in the past few months how much I love them#and it’s shitty to compare them to some of my old friends I’m outgrowing but the spark just isn’t there#and they don’t make any effort to show me they care#and it’s not bad no one is mean#but these guys just keep blowing me away with how easy friendship is#they text when they think about me and even showed up randomly at a lesbian bar because I mentioned I was going#and WANTED to see me#I’m just so lucky#I remember somone was questioning my athority on a topic because I was young and I don’t even remember how it came up but I heard my friends#recounting the story after and one of them confidently said without thinking ‘yeah they were being like so wierd Rogi is our friend#idk idk I’m gushing I am just going through a lot of life changes and also I’m 21 so I’m kinda clicking into the stride of my adult life#amd understanding who I am… and I just feel so lucky to have friends that value me and who make friendship feel so effortless

Soooo I'm thinking of going on a little hiatus with posting new manga caps. I have a lot going on with life atm and my pc isn't working so I haven't been able to update my queue. I'm going to add old caps to my queue so there is some content showing up but idk when I'll be able to add new caps to my queue.
