Holy topic change batman
How did we even get here
#reading a poem from class and am just in shock at a change of topic here and the language used#like i dont have cultural knowledge/connection/whatever of the word used so it itself isnt like sensitive for me in any way nd i dont know#how much it is that in spanish (bc im reading the poem in soanish and translating the words i dont know into english to understand better)#but the FREAKING TOPIC CHANGE here has left me so shocked#like im sorry but how do we go from talking abt how this homie is like the special voice of the city and connection to nature in an#industial world only to then go (direct translation) “and the faggots#they dreamed of you“ like bro WHEN DID THEY GET HERE#anyways i picked this poem bc it was a little queer from the skim i did i can admit that but obviously i missed the bulk of it because i did#not see that line coming at all or the total topic change here#like again i picked up it was a little gay on the skim bc its by a gay poet abt a gay poet. and bro is described using words like beautiful#handsome etc. a few times#but looking through and skimming the rest is just them talking about gay ppl the whole time. how did i miss this. like yeah this was#likely written in the 1920s uses older language (not to mention in my 2nd language) but wow okay#going thru and translating and that just hit me by surprise horribly#I THOUGHT WE WERE TALKING ABT INDUSTRY AND NATURE#okay i think ive recovered from the shock there i need to finish actually 7nderstanding this so i can write the paper i put off so ling#also 10 points and like a shitty doodle of choice if anyone knows the poem here.#i have an awful track record of following through on these promises but like interested to see if its semi obvious

Why is it that dc such as r@pe, sa, and incest is totally okay to write about and romanticize but y’all draw the line at racism, fat phobia, and homophobia *talking about the writings creators make, not personal beliefs*? Whats the difference between these things? All of them are hurtful and affect people in real life, so why is everybody on here choosing and picking one and not the other? Do writers on here think that they are not comparable or that one is okay to romanticize and the other is going way too far?
Im just genuinely curious as I have seen this topic be brought up again and again, which has made me realize this and Id like to see it from someone else's pov.
hi! there is a lot to answer and unpack here and i have every intention of doing so underneath the cut. forgive me if this gets long, but you’ve asked me 4 very massive questions that i think warrant detail, nuance, and thought. there is a lot i’d like to say here.
that being said, mind the content warnings and protect yourself.
cw: mentions of rape, incest, racism, homophobia, fat phobia, discourse in general
firstly, i am going to choose to give you the benefit of the doubt in assuming you are actually curious in hearing another side and you are not simply looking to stir a pot or pick a fight with beliefs you have no intention of changing or having an open discussion on. your accusatory tone in the first half indicates otherwise and kindly, i am not an idiot. but i want to earnestly talk to you about this and again, will think better of you than you perhaps have indicated you think of me.
secondly, you do not have to censor words like rape in my inbox. that sort of censorship has become wildly popular because of tik tok and other money-hungry social media that also desperately want to silence people. do you know why you have to censor words like that on tik tok? or words like genocide? suicide? racism? 1. so that they can make money and market and push their squeaky clean algorithms but 2. and perhaps worse, so they can silence victims. if social media platforms and capitalism and the systems of powers had it their way, you would never utter these words again—whether to call someone out for justice or to have an open discussion like this one. i encourage you greatly to think critically about this and how you choose to use censorship and why.
now, to your questions.
to preface, i am interpreting this ask as being anti-dark content in fiction as you state that ALL these subjects harm people in real life. or at least, you are being critical of all dark content in fiction and the way writers engage with them, effectively ‘picking and choosing’ which are deemed acceptable and which aren’t, when they are all hurtful. i apologize if that wasn’t your intention/what you believe, but regardless, i’ll endeavor to answer you.
i personally have drawn no lines about dark content nor spoken about any of these topics specifically really, which indicates to me you have a different narrative and/or are coming from more inflammatory arguments that are always circling fandom lately. in the post i most recently reblogged, i spoke mostly of violence. which, of course, all of those things can be. but i didn’t name one of those topics in particular.
regardless, i don’t believe in the censorship of any dark content in art, but rather advocate strongly for critical analysis on a case-by-case basis. in general, i encourage thinking critically about every aspect of the world around you.
i do not believe that rape, incest, and sa are okay to write about or create art about but racism, homophobia, and fat phobia are not. i believe all of those topics are ones that can, should, and will be explored in the safety of art. all to varying degrees of success, earnestness, impact, and intent. you’re right that these are real things, that can hurt people, and the fictional work about them can have impact on our society that is tangible but the actual art or fiction created is not real. and again, this is all to varying degrees on a case-by-case basis.
art and fiction also historically and massively do discuss these dark content topics and have actively swayed the public’s opinion on matters, whether for better or for worse. throwing away all dark content in art and fiction because it is ‘harmful’ is deeply, deeply dangerous and reductive. a lot of art that engages with dark content actually makes very succinct points about it—i think of vladimir nabokov’s lolita or octavia butler’s bloodchild or speak by laurie halse anderson.
this is where we must exorcise critical thinking. some pieces of work will handle dark content poorly—white saviors making art on racism. men making art about a woman’s experiences that (as you are so interested in) romanticize her pain. etc. etc. and some art will handle it’s dark content incredibly and be transformative, perhaps even revolutionary in how we talk, perceive, or acknowledge systems of oppression, violence, and dark content in this world. some dark content in fiction will have damaging beliefs and effects on society, some will not—we must also look at scope for this, at the writer perhaps, the historical moment, their audience etc.
(for example, there is a significant difference in a main stream male writer, writing of a woman’s experience with rape in a published book in a way that makes it sound romanticized, sold to thousands and thousands of general public vs. a woman using fanfic to explore rape, take control of it, or whatever in a fanfic for a small online community where there are warnings on it. indicating she is aware of its potential damage in a way her male counterpart is not…)
but i still believe in dark contents’ existence in art. of course there is differences between all of these topics you brought up, but i don’t think their differences matter in this answer. i believe in their right to be explored in art. i am talking broadly of media/art here, which i think is the more relevant conversation, but i think you are actually more interested in a much smaller scale of people. ie. fandom. ie. mostly marginalized people in small communities online writing and creating dark content.
people will choose and pick which ones they’d like to create art over and which ones they don’t, which ones they read and which ones they don’t. there’s no ‘hard line’ drawn anywhere. and i can’t control it and neither can you. perhaps you think violence is okay to be explored in fanfic, but racism isn’t. someone else will have different preferences. i do not believe in its censorship.
now, let’s move onto your interest in romanticization and what i think you are more pointing to, which is fandom. you are specifically referring to people in fandom who write about rape, incest, etc. and ‘romanticize’ it—ie. they write about it in a way that is a fantasy. it is perhaps supposed to be horny or sexy. so let’s talk about it.
i must remind you that these topics you’ve brought up (rape, incest, sa) being written are fiction and it is (most often) done by someone marginalized who has either experienced this or is in threat of experiencing this under a patriarchy. i assure you, they are aware of its harm. hence the copious warnings in fandom spaces.
if i can be candid, sometimes i think that people forget how systems of oppression work when discussing fandom and whether dark content being created should be allowed or not.
for example, i sometimes think people who are anti-dark content in fandom believe that a woman or afab person writing a fictional fanfic about rape or sexual violence then influences people to go out and rape people or that women actually like it. when the reality, in fandom spaces, is that rape and sexual violence happen frequently under the patriarchy and then these women in fandom write fictional fanfic in response to cope, explore, take control of, etc. etc.
to insinuate that women or afab people (which fandom mostly is) exploring dark content safely in fiction then causes their own oppression and harm or trauma is rather victim-blame-y to me. fandom exploring dark content does not cause these things to happen in our society….these actions (rape, incest, sa) happen in our society or systems of power and fandom reacts to them in their art by exploring it in dark content. do you understand what i’m trying to say?
it’s not a matter of what is ‘okay’ to romanticize and what isn’t. i do not think the romanticization that fandom does with dark content (ie. my kidnapper actually loves me! or this sexual act that i did not consent to…maybe feels good) is not actually romanticizing but coping because of the systems of power that i described above. and this can be coping with anything—shame of sexuality, shame of fantasies, trauma, fear, etc. etc.
as i said in my tags in that post i reblogged and as plato said, dark content in art is a safe place to explore what would otherwise be harmful and dangerous in real life. it is cathartic. potentially even, a purging.
and even if it isn’t all that—maybe it just is trashy fantasy. it is still playing pretend. it is still fiction and in fandom spaces, it is still most likely being created by a marginalized person. and again, even if it isn’t, we don’t get to censor it. we can be critical of it or wary or whatever, but to censor it, is a slippery, slippery slope. do deem some topics as “acceptable” and others as “unacceptable” is dangerous.
just like kids play pretend where they ‘fight’ or ‘kill’ or ‘kidnap’ or ‘shoot’ each other in games of cops and robbers or heroes and villains, they are safely exploring adventure, dark content, fantasy, tragedy, and higher emotions. adults can do the same in fiction and with adult topics like sex.
and at the end of the day, we don’t get to demand the credentials to do so either. we don’t get to censor them or control them and nor should we be allowed to. i cannot stress enough that i encourage you to be critical of censorship or the absolute disgust in dark content and at those (again—often marginalized people) who engage with it in fandom. i believe it is deeply puritanical, conservative, and dangerous.
you don’t have to like dark content or consume it at all and fandom makes it easy not to with all the warnings and tags, but you cannot control others or police them. nor should you want to.
and at the end of the day, i have some questions for you. you don’t have to respond to this, perhaps they’re just things to think about. what is the end goal here? what is the point in harassing, shaming, attacking, criticizing, or interrogating people in fandom spaces who create or support dark content? do you believe that if it is purged from fandom, it will be purged from our society? if you want it purged from society—shouldn’t you start there rather than in the inbox of marginalized writers in fandom? people in fandom did not create rape, incest, and sa nor do they in their exploration of fiction…they are merely reacting to a world that did create it.
i hope at no point i came off as rude to you, as was not my intention. i intended to stand up for myself and respectfully state my opinions and thoughts on this matter. i’m sorry it got long, but also i don’t believe in being brief on such complex matters. i am a writer who engages critically with the world around me and sometimes, things cannot be made into short, snappy answers. sometimes, we must unpack.
genuinely wishing you well.

Ok, this is my first time requesting anything but I've been reading your works for a long time and I am a complete sucker for platonic fics so here it is: Headcanons for being Jeremiah and Conrad's younger sister. If you don't wanna do this it's totally fine. Thank you
Hi, thank you so much for all your support and reading my fics!
Obviously they’re brothers so you can’t be the sister of one without the other, but I’m breaking it up a bit to organize my rambling Headcanons about your relationship with each of them individually too.
Younger-Sister!/Fisher!Reader x Sibling!/Platonic!Conrad & Sibling!/Platonic!Jeremiah Fisher Headcanons
Jeremiah As An Older Brother:
He would indulge in every hobby, interest, sport or activity, etc. that you ever found yourself enjoying or wanting to try. He’d do it to not only support you but to spend time with you as well; even if he didn’t enjoy the particular activity you’d be doing.
He’d be both supportive and protective when it came to you dating. He’d worry for you and your wellbeing but also encourage you to not be shy or insecure.
Jeremiah would make tons of jokes in front of your crush. Sometimes he could accidentally go too far; as such, he’d apologize for it and probably fumble over himself in his attempt to undo it.
Jeremiah would offer tons of advice (although it might not always be the best or most helpful).
He would attend all of your extracurricular activities to cheer you on.
He’d be the one to teach you how to drive, making playful jokes throughout your progress.
He’d be more relaxed about you aging and trying more adult things like drinking. That’s not to say he wouldn’t be watching you closely to ensure you were safe. He just wouldn’t be as direct or restrictive about it.
Conrad As An Older Brother:
Whenever you were sick, you could count on Conrad to be there to take care of you. He’d be probably a bit over-the-top at first with it, but he means well.
Conrad would be very protective when it comes to you dating. He’d be overly cautious about your love interest hurting you in some way. He’d warn you of any red flags he saw. That’s not to say he wouldn’t be there when things went wrong. Instead….
Conrad would be there to help you get through any heartbreak or breakup. He’d likely rely on the adult women in his life (such as past lessons from or experiences he’d seen Susannah handle, or from talking with Laurel) to know what to do. But, you can count on him come to your defense and aid and to have your fav ice-cream (or other comfort food of your choosing) ready, your favorite movie pulled up on the screen, and face masks/etc ready for you and he’d never truly say “I told you so”, even if he did; he’d only say it if you pushed him to and even then it would be in a joking lighthearted manner.
He wouldn’t be the best when it came to handling you dating, but you could count on him to pick up the pieces in the aftermath.
That being said, he’d try to keep Jeremiah’s jokes in front of you crush from truly crossing any lines or hurting your feelings. He’d laugh along with the ones that caused you to blush, etc. but wouldn’t let them go too far.
Conrad would be the best for advice. He would frustratingly always seem to have the answers. Conrad would even look into topics in which he wasn’t very familiar with or informed about before offering his advice to you.
He would attend your sports and extracurriculars. If he knew enough about them, he’d be able to offer tips or tricks on how to improve; if you were okay with that.
Unlike Jeremiah, Conrad would struggle a lot with you growing up. He’d have to work on not being so controlling and restrictive. It wouldn’t be easy for him to let go and not see you as someone he needs to constantly look after/over. He’d be proud of all your accomplishments and milestones, but he’d also feel somewhat distraught about the changes.
Overall, Conrad and Jeremiah would really do everything they could to be good older brothers. It would honestly at times almost be competitive in nature between the two of them. But, at the end of the day they would both love you and do their best to care for you and help you become a great person.

I just did a watch of Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest. There’s so many amazing little things happening in those first two episodes.
1. The Music: there is so much 90s sitcom music happening. Especially at the end of The Harvest when they avert the apocalypse and it’s just Giles, Buffy, Xander, and Willow reflecting on what happened. The music sounds like it’s from an episode of 7th Heaven.
2. Everything David Boreanaz is doing is hysterical. You can tell it’s one of baby’s first real acting gigs. He doesn’t know what to do with his hands, his arms are swinging inexplicably, and he makes standing still look so painfully awkward.
3. The Wardrobe: We get some of the best and worst looks in these two episodes and it’s quite frankly, iconic. Buffy’s first day of school look literally defined a generation. However her first night at The Bronze look??? What is happening here? And let’s not even get started on Angels shiny plush velvet jacket. He’s giving hot topic vampire.
4. The Lighting: I love how dark season 1 is, it’s a total vibe and I have so much nostalgia for watching this show when it was first on TV. But there are scenes that are actually impossible to see (the opening sequence for example) and there’s a moment in The Harvest where Buffy shatters a window and you can just see where the prosthetics are glued to Luke’s face.
5. The Prosthetics: If you didn’t know, they changed the prosthetics because they were so hard to talk in! Darla is impossible to understand half the time and they had to change some of Jesse’s lines because he couldn’t say “s” words.
6. Darla x The Mythology: ok so obviously we know Darla goes on a journey. It’s funny to look back at these initial episodes and see her behaving in ways that feel out of character. She doesn’t seem to know much about Slayers. She’s easily defeated by some holy water and a cross (wielded by Willow and Giles of all people.) She’s deferential to Luke in a way that makes her seem higher in rank than a fledgling but certainly not the 500 year old vampire we come to know. There’s also so many small mythology things that don’t make the cut or are evolved over time. Giles has seemingly never encountered many supernatural creatures and is unaware of what a Hellmouth is. Vampires eyes glow in the dark and they have talon like nails. Buffy’s stakes look like coffee table legs. I love seeing how the show grows beyond these beginnings.
I’m excited to continue watching season 1. I almost always skip straight to School Hard in any rewatch of the series and it’s so much fun to revisit these early episodes.

so tom and reader have been secretly dating for a long time, only haz, tuwaine and harry know because tom lives with them and y/n has been coming around to see him. one night tom invited y/n to come round and stay the night, forgetting the rest of his family are visiting the next day and he introduces them for the first time? thank you!! <3
Girlfriend (t.h)
Tumblr media
snkjskjhsjskh this was so cute i had to write immediately <3 thank u for the request, hope you enjoy!
✧・゚: ✧・゚:✧・゚: ✧・゚:
It wasn't always supposed to be a secret, honestly. At first you and Tom just agreed to keep things quiet from friends and family to avoid so many opinions while you got to know each other.
Tom of course couldn't keep himself totally quiet and found himself spilling to the boys one quiet night in, too happy in his new relationship he felt he'd burst if he didn't tell someone.
You followed his lead, telling your best friends but making them swear to keep it quiet. And then, keeping it a secret became almost fun. There was something so exhilarating about sneaking around, staying at each other's places and spending nights feeling like there was no one else in the world.
Naturally Tom introduced you to his close friends so you could spend the night at their place, and you found yourself really growing close to them, div behavior and all.
So here you were, basking in the early morning sun in Tom's bed as he snored quietly next to you. Downstairs you could hear a faint clatter of the boys going about their morning, preparing breakfast and making their teas.
Snuggling closer to Tom, you press yourself into his back and snake an arm around his waist, pushing one of your knees between his gently. He hums quietly, his hand slowly moving to hold yours over his chest. You press tiny kisses into the back of his neck, pushing yourself up on one elbow to reach over to his cheek. He chuckles, turning over to face you and opens his eyes slowly.
"Morning," you whisper cheekily.
He brings his hand up to your face, tracing the edge of your features gently.
"Morning, m'love" he rasps.
You poke his side as his eyes flutter closed again.
"Tommy," you whisper. "Don't go back to sleep."
"M'not" he mutters, as he promptly goes back to sleep.
You drag your finger up over his bicep, trailing up his neck and tracing the wonky line of his nose broken too many times. He scrunches up his face, tongue poking out to lick your finger as it passes over his lips.
"Ew, Tom!" you shriek. "That's so gross!"
"Wha- you'll make out with me for hours and you'll put my- but that's gross?" he says disbelievingly. "You're mental, love."
You roll your eyes and he reaches out in apology, opening his eyes and pulling you into his chest.
"What are your plans for the day?" he asks, changing the topic smoothly.
You shrug, snuggling into his warmth.
"Not much. Thought I might go shopping later if the weather doesn't get too hot."
He nods.
"I assume I won't convince you into joining me and the lads for a round of golf?" he says teasingly as you shake your head playfully.
"I would rather chop off my own-" your playful jab at golf is cut off by the slam of the front door and a chorus of voices and stomping of feet in the foyer. Both you and Tom frown, trying to figure out who it is.
It's when Harry says loudly up the stairs "Mum! Dad! Paddy! and who's that getting out the car...oh Sam! Forgot you were coming this morning!" that you and Tom snap into action.
"Oh, bollocks!" Tom hisses. "I clean forgot my family was coming over this morning!" he jumps out of bed, pulling on a pair of sweatpants and hunting around for a T-shirt.
"Your- what?" you shriek. "Your family? I haven't met your family!"
"Is Tom awake yet? Is he here?" the faint voice of Nikki echoes down the hallway.
"Erm, I think you're about to meet them darling," Tom says worriedly.
"Here, put some pants on." he chucks a pair of pyjama shorts at you, followed quickly by an abandoned T-shirt of his.
You slip into the clothes hurriedly.
"Are you sure you can't just chuck me out the window or something?" you ask. "It's not too far a drop and I bounce back easily."
"Hmm," says Tom. "Hard pass. You'll be fine, really. They'll love you."
You sigh, rootling through your overnight bag to find a hairbrush.
"Are you sure it's not- it's not too soon?" you ask. Tom pauses, sitting down on the edge of his bed. He pats the spot next to him, gesturing for you to sit.
"It's very rushed, but I think it's a good time for you to meet them," he says seriously. "I've been thinking about introducing you anyway. My family is important to me and so are you. I think we're ready to take this next step?" he trails off, searching for a reaction from you.
Your heart swells at his words and you nod. "I think so too."
He holds out his hand for you to take.
"Ready?"
You nod.
"Ready."
✧・゚: ✧・゚:✧・゚: ✧・゚:
"Morning, darling." says Nikki as Tom enters the kitchen. She stands up to hug him, but stops short when she sees you hovering behind him, your hand still firmly grasped in his.
"Oh!" she says. "Hello."
"Hi." you say quietly, suddenly intimidated by Tom's whole family peering at you from their places around the kitchen.
"Mum, Dad, idiots," Tom starts. "I want you to meet Y/N."
"Hi, Y/N." says Paddy monotonously, not looking up from his phone.
"My girlfriend." Tom adds proudly.
You blush, enjoying the way he said that. You hadn't formally discussed a label for your relationship yet and it sounded really nice coming from his lips.
"Your girlfriend?" repeats Dom.
"Oh, hello darling!" gushes Nikki, sweeping you into a hug. "I'm Nikki, it's so nice to meet you!"
"Hi, Nikki," you say as you hug her back. "I'm so sorry, I usually don't wear my pajamas to meet new people, promise."
Nikki laughs, taking you by the arm and leading you over to the couch. You both sit down and she hands you a cup of tea.
"Right," she leans in like she means business. "Which embarrassing story from Tom's childhood do you want to hear first?"
All three of Tom's brothers follow you into the lounge, situating themselves on the furniture and the floor, always eager for an opportunity to roast their eldest brother.
Tom rolls his eyes, leaning over the back of the couch and putting his mouth right next to your ear.
"I think this is going well, girlfriend."

Hello I have a question!!!
This question is not specifically about your fic, but supercorp fics in general.
How come the first time kara and lena have a smut scene together, kara always gets lena off, but insists she doesn't need lena to reciprocate? That feels EXACTLY like kara, but I personally don't feel like lena would go for that (consentially obv). I just really feel like lena would religiously go down on kara at the given chance!
Lmao okay this is actually something I hear a lot about my fic, so I’m going to get into why I often write this way for first times between them and you’re gonna get some insight into the absurd amount of thinking I do about how these two express intimacy so BUCKLE IN
I don’t know about supercorp fics in general, but here’s how my weird brain sees them. Kara often avoids being truly vulnerable by being hyper-focused on helping and meeting the needs of others to her own detriment, and I like the idea of viewing her powers/alienness through the lens of her having needs that aren’t considered ‘standard’ (different sensitivities, penetration aversion, anxiety around certain acts, etc) which she, like a lot of real people who share those, wouldn’t always feel comfortable expressing in detail right away. And Lena is so repressed and traumatized by her upbringing that when she’s shown the slightest amount of tenderness and consideration to her needs she collapses like a cheese soufflé. Funnily I actually think Lena does skew more toppy with anyone besides Kara, because with anyone else she doesn’t have enough trust. Sex is a great tool for expressing character development, and that’s Lena’s journey a lot of the time. I often write that scenario because I think it realistically reflects the beginning stages of their relationship both in the show and in whatever narrative I’m writing.
I think after some trust and communication about their actual desires and some boundary-setting that dynamic would definitely change and they’d be much more likely to switch things up considerably, but for a first time? In the heat of the moment you’re usually going to fall back on what you’re most comfortable with, because you don’t always know yet what the other person wants or expects from you. Kara specifically, in my mind, would fall back on service because she’s not used to her needs being prioritized or she thinks her needs are too weird/difficult to accommodate and she doesn’t understand yet that Lena cares about them just as much as her own, and Lena would go with it because 1. She’s usually in the midst of an emotional breakthrough while Kara is blowing her back out and 2. In the moment it’s making Kara very happy. She absolutely would go down on Kara for 12 hours straight but if she thinks Kara doesn’t want that? She’s going to go with the thing she knows Kara does want. I usually write that Lena has to sort of push Kara to admit she does want attention, and I think in some stories Lena wouldn’t do that right away. She’d sometimes wait until they’re more comfortable in their intimacy to broach the topic. But once they do get there, Kara gets all the attention! It all depends on the narrative and where they are in their relationship. Sex is complicated, especially first times!
Idk man, everyone sees them differently. In some people’s minds I’m totally off-base, and there are so many interpretations that don’t line up with mine, which I think is the beauty of fandom. But it’s what makes sense in my head! That’s the beauty of writing for yourself, I get to make what I want to see exist in the world and people who want to see something else can make it themselves or find it elsewhere, ya know?

The boys when y/n has a bad day (haikyuu)
Characters: Kuroo, Bokuto, Kei, Atsumu x f! reader TW: unchecked works
Tumblr media
Kuroo Tetsuro
Quietly wraps his figure around you from behind, enveloping you in his chest and arms. Then he presses a kiss to your temples. "Want to talk about it?"
If you did, he'd quietly listen and give advices. Even in situations where he couldn't help or there was no way to make things better, he'd tell you, "take your time, it's okay to feel upset, kitten."
If you didn't want to talk about it, he'll accept it and try to change the topic and find something to do with you. "how about we have a nice dinner together? Or do you want to catch a movie tonight?"
Has his arms around your waist and press kisses to your cheeks, temple, hair, forehead and tells you cheesy pick up lines every now and then until you break into a smile or giggle.
And when you finally do, he'll smile too, "there's my baby~"
He'll cuddle you in his arms and warm body, stroking your hair until you've fallen asleep. "I love you" He whispers to you.
Bokuto Koutaro
Gets upset when he learns you're upset. "Who made / why are you upset baby owl!?"
He pulls you in a tight hug and looks at you with glossy eyes and a little pout.
You tell him of course, else he wouldn't let you go. He'll be all mopey for the entire day like that ONE TIME you didn't want to tell him, he was so pouty and his hair was even deflated.
Once you let him know of your worries, he'll try to suggest ways where he can help you. Of course most of the time it's his silly ideas but it cheers you up a little because he's so funny.
"How about I go over and pretend to be a girl and join your friendly game next week!!"
"I'll totally be down to wear a skirt like yours baby! You look so cute in them!"
When you finally convinced him that it was okay and you didn't need any help, he'll try to cheer you up instead.
"OKAY! LET'S GO ON A DATE! AND HAVE LOTSA ICE CREAM!" He'll lift you up in his arms and spin in circles.
Tsukishima Kei
Knows you're upset but has no idea what to do. Low key panicking.
Decides to give you your space and cool off, hoping that you'd figure things out and just need some time to clear your mind.
Brings some water to you after awhile and gently pats your head.
"do you want me to be here?" he quietly asks.
he'd leave if you wanted to be alone and he'd stay with you if you said yes.
Puts his headphone over your ears and plays some of his favourite happy music for you. Then climbs into bed and lie next to you, scrolling on his social media and showing you any funny videos he came across.
When you've finally calmed down and had the energy to tell him, he listens and tells you not to care too much if it can't be solved.
He's right, but you still give a sigh anyway. This boy has no idea what are the right words to say, nor is he the romantic type, so he wraps his arms around you and pull you close to him, pressing a kiss on your hair.
"You hungry?"
Orders your favourite take outs plus desserts and you have dinner in bed while you binge on happy dramas together.
Miya Atsumu
"Ehhh? Who made my pretty princess upset??" he jokes light heartedly until he sees that you are indeed, really upset.
"hey hey," his voice suddenly drops a tone and he comes over to engulf you in a hug, "talk to me, baby."
He's totally team y/n whether or not you were right or wrong. "Sheesh, come on, tell him/her to just chill the fuck out! It's totally a small issue~"
If you're upset over something that is not regarding anyone, he'll give a little pout and kiss you on your cheek, "wish I could help shoulder some pain for ya, baby."
Holds you for soooo long, even your back is numb but his arms are fit as hell, so he doesn't feel sore at all.
After you're feeling slightly better, he'll carry you bridal style, "Let's go play some arcade or watch some movie or go to that cafe you always wanted to, baby!"
Won't take no for an answer, cause this man will carry you all the way into his car and peppers lots of kisses into your face until you have to swat him away.
"There's ma pretty princess~"

Hi! So I am very new to Hadestown and I am watching the bootleg. I really love the dynamic between Hades and Persephone, but there is one thing that kind of rub me in not so good way, is Hey Little Song Bird implied that Hades and Eurydice slept together? I am seeing a lot of interpretation and it genuinely confused the hell out of me asdfghk
Hi! Well, tbf it's a tricky question, but the short answer is that Hadestown suggests that something might have happened behind closed doors. The rest is up to audience and actor's interpretation.
For example, Anaïs Mitchell often mentions in Working On a Song that in early workshops she often went with the idea that Hades cheats and pretty regularly even though these affairs mean nothing to him since the only person he loves is Persephone. It even had a cut song:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In her early drafts/productions of Hadestown you can often get the vibe that from her point of view it doesn't matter as much because they are eternal beings and love each other since the world began so does it even matter for them?
However, by NYTW this story line was cut apart from Persephone's line in How Long:
"I don't mind if you look at other girls, now and then"
"The girl means nothing to me"
"I know"
Plus the staging in NYTW Papers and Hades' protective peacock behavior with Eurydice around Orpheus in the scene also gives you a thought that they might have had an affair? Plus some bits like the fact that she has a line in Why We Build a Wall and her words "But don't you see? That's different with me!" - "Different than who? They thought they were different too!" Could also be interpreted as Hades suggesting some special conditions by granting her a role of a romantic interest. Whether the interest is real or not and did he use it or not is again up to your interpretation of NYTW Hades. He is more of a morally dubious guy (as all ht Hades are) so it's more up to you to either believe he would have cheated to put Persephone in her place or would just use showing off Eurydice as a brutal way to get Persephone's interest.
As for Broadway, I think it's still suggested and you can find profs in the lyrics but I think that they are what they are - suggestive and leave you to interprete it whichever way you feel comfortable. I think the biggest suggestion remains in Flowers with the line:
'I trembled when he laid me out
"You won’t feel a thing," he said, "when you go down"'
Which kinda can have a death meaning and sex meaning, tbf someone could have written a good article on how those topics are connected in Hadestown. So here, again chose one of the two or both.
But again, Broadway also changed the lyrics in How Long and the whole staging in Papers so it's less suggestive.
My personal opinion based on Broadway production is that it all depends on how the actor plays it and whether you believe this particular Hades is the type to sleep with Eurydice to get Persephone's attention and prove he is still attractive or he is more of a person who doesn't care about having the affair and his only goal is to get Persephone to react somehow by composing such a messed up hurtful plan. Personally, I prefer the second option maybe because I'm a pussy or maybe because I see Hades (whom I mostly base on Patrick Page ht Broadway previews) like a person who is desperate to get Persephone's attention in such a radical way like a cat pushing objects from your table to see your reaction. He wants to be stopped, he wants any reaction from Persephone. He even touches her by the shoulder before going into the office like "Look!! Look! I'm absolutely totally leaving! To cheat! See! Hey come on! I'll even take off my tie to show that I'm serious! Don't you wanna stop me???". Seems kinda way too extra to me. Like he could have just gotten to the office after parading a pretty girl in front of her and it would be understood that it's for an affair. But he takes so much time to make sure she understands that he can find himself someone when all he wants is for her to come back to him with open arms. I'm not sure he has the guts to actually damage his relationship to an irreversible degree (considering Broadway Hades is never stated as a cheater before the Eurydice sub-plot). Like it's one thing to take a mortal before her time and parade her in front of your wife (because what is a mortal life after all?) as a "replacement" and it's the other way to actually cheat on her and deal with the fact that she might never forgive him again if it is a deal-breaker for her considering they seem to be true to each other for all these years.
One interesting thing to note here as well is how Hades actors play the reaction to Persephone's line in How Long:
"He has the kind if love that you and I once had"
Because his instant reaction is "OH SHIT once had?? Does she think I don't love her still?? OH SHIT I BROUGHT THE GIRL THIS IS WHY SHE MIGHT THINK THAT", so he answers to that:
"The girl means nothing to me!"
Depending on the actor and she show the line sounds either scared, confused, angry, undignified etc. So it's once again up to you to interprete why he reacts this way: is he angry because she suggested he would actually cheated on her? Is he angry because she called him out on that affair? Is he confused and scared because she thinks he doesn't love her anymore because of his foolish decision to tease her in such a cruel way?
That's up to you.
P.S. I think one of the most interesting studies of the subject and Hades' character that I've read in a fic for that matter was the Songbird chapter of Winters Nigh and Summers O're. You can check it out, but I will warn you that it's probably one of the heaviest chapters of that fic in the emotional sense and it has explicit parts (don't worry, nothing bad happens to Eurydice. Well...apart from dying, I guess), so check out the warnings if you decide to read it.

How To Write Good by Corentine
THE DRAFTING PROCESS, PART 2/2
Writing guide continued! Here's PART ONE.
STEP THREE: THE START, THE END, THE BEATS
I’m of the opinion that every story should start with a bang. You could start mid-way through a notable event, as seen in GHD:
- O L H A - D - V - The words, incomprehensible, rattle around his head like the last rumbles of a great thunderstorm. Then, much like after a storm has passed, the air suddenly feels clearer, sharper. A sludgy fog he didn’t even realise he was in clears from his mind and he blinks, confused. The first thing he sees is his own hands.
If you want it to be especially punchy, you can start with a line of dialogue or a short sentence, like I did for T4T:
CHAPTER ONE: It is the end.
It’s reeeally easy to lose readers at the start, so you always want to write a strong opener. Something that grabs the reader by the collar and drags them in to read the rest of the chapter.
You don’t need to have all the details, but you should have at least a vague idea of how the story ends. If you’re writing fanfic that follows along the same plot as a game or existing story, most of the legwork is done for you – so writing GHD, I planned for it to end when Alduin was killed. As I got further into the story, I came up with a more narratively satisfying ending, because it’s okay if the ending changes. As long as you have an ending in mind, you have something to work towards.
So GHD’s original, very basic plot was:
START – the Last Dragonborn wakes up with total amnesia
???
He saves Miraak
???
They kill Alduin together – END
Now you have to map out those ??? parts by deciding the major beats of the story, i.e. notable scenes. This gives you something to work towards other than the ending. I ended up with notes like these:
START – the Last Dragonborn wakes up with total amnesia
Who is he? Don’t spend too much time on this, not important, can be answered later
Goes to Solstheim, meets Miraak
Finds a way to communicate with Miraak – sneaks into Apocrypha? Shares dreams? College of Winterhold has psijiics, use telepathy?
Finds a way to save Miraak
Go to Apocrypha, confront Hermaeus Mora, save Miraak
They look for ways to kill Alduin together
Hermaeus Mora comes for them
Prolonged recovery, tells reader that even ‘redeemed’ Miraak is still scary
They kill Alduin together
What happens after Alduin?
(Redacted for spoiler purposes) – END
The story beats should ebb and flow like the tide; high-octane scenes should be followed by periods of calm. You don’t want to do this too quickly or the story will feel like whiplash; rather this is a process that happens over many chapters. Let’s look at some examples in GHD:
⇈⇈ Miraak dominates telepathy and is really scary!! ⇊⇊ Chry wanders around Skyrim doing errands and Thinking About Life… ⇈⇈ Chry breaks Miraak out of Apocrypha!!  ⇊⇊ They recover from the ordeal and have a honeymoon period… ⇈⇈ They go to Blackreach and it’s visually awesome, and also Chry gets jealous!! ⇊⇊ They do misc stuff for a while… ⇈⇈ They talk to Septimus Signus, Mora shows up, nearly kills Chry!! ⇊⇊ Miraak whisks Chry away somewhere to recover in peace…
Tumblr media
You see what I mean?
Right, you know roughly what’s going to happen. Time to turn that into words, baby!
STEP FOUR: GOTTA START WRITING
My actual writing style is its own separate topic so I’m not going to tell you how I structure a sentence or anything, just my literal writing process.
In my chapter document, I start by making a bullet-point list of everything I want to happen in the chapter. What happens can, and probably will, change as you actually get the chapter down. That’s fine, you just need a starting point.
I very rarely write individual chapters in order, as in start to finish. Rather, I tend to write the scenes I can picture clearly in my head – then by the time I’ve written those I’m in a writing groove and the gaps in the rest of the chapter will come easier. When I’m done, I’ll stitch the individual scenes together, which sometimes requires altering the scene start or end to make the whole thing more cohesive.
There are times when the writer’s block takes me, and I have like two finished scenes and just cannot summon the words for the rest of the chapter. When this happens, to be honest, the only answer I’ve found is brute force: I sit myself in front of the computer, get rid of phone/alt tabs/other distractions, and force myself to type something. Or I hold myself hostage (i.e. ‘I am not allowed to play more Baldur’s Gate 3 until I have written GHD chapter 47’) that works too, for me anyway.
Whatever it takes to get something on paper. What’s mostly important is to get something written, even if it’s not very good. You can always edit, rephrase or even rewrite sections later. Usually I’ve found once you start writing, you get into a groove and then it’s no longer a chore.
I also aim for a certain word count / chapter length while writing. I know a chapter is exactly as long as it needs to be and blah blah, but I set myself a minimum wordcount to reach. Or if I go way over the word count it’s probably because I’ve waffled too much, so I either aim to split the chapter into two, or to ruthlessly edit it back down again.
For GHD I average 7,000 - 9,000 words, but I actually think that’s a bit too long and risks losing people’s attention span, so for T4T I aim lower, about 6,000-ish. Less is perfectly fine, but if I’m reading another fic I find a chapter length of 2,000 words or lower to be disappointingly short. That’s all personal preference of course, and certain fics will lend themselves better to shorter chapters.
Although I jump around scenes within each chapter, I make a point of writing my entire chapters in chronological order. If I’m on chapter 5, and I know something awesome happens in chapter 12, it’s imperative that I do not write chapter 12 ahead of time. If I do, I’ll reeeally struggle to write chapters 6-11, because I have already rewarded my brain by writing the cool thing. If I hold off, my enthusiasm to write chapter 12 may in fact motivate me to crank out chapters 6-11 in record time.
I do have one other thing – in my Scrivener projects I always have a document called ‘Unused’. Sometimes, usually at like 2AM when sleep has failed me, I’ll get a really good idea for some dialogue or description. I scribble it down somewhere (or it will be forgotten for sure) and later I type it into my Unused document, so it’s just filled with random bits of text like this (note, everything you see here is unused, so it's not going to feature in the last chapter of GHD):
Tumblr media
At some point in time I’ll peruse it and think ‘yes, this line!!’ and drop it into a future chapter – again though I just write bits, not entire scenes or I’ll have written all the exciting parts already. Anything I edit out of a chapter (i.e. a paragraph I liked but didn’t quite fit) gets dropped here too, in case I can reuse it later.
STEP FIVE: FINAL EDITING
I will be honest, I’m pretty impatient. Once I’ve finished a chapter, especially if it’s one I’ve been struggling with for a long time, I want to publish it now. So I’m guilty of not editing as thoroughly as I should – but this is what I usually do and it catches at least most of my mistakes:
As a first step, I copy-paste the chapter from Scrivener into google docs. Remember I said Scriv’s word processor wasn’t the best? Yeah, it’s no good at picking up on dodgy grammar, but google docs is, so I run it through there and skim-check for wiggly blue lines, then make the changes in Scriv. You may not have this issue if you’re using Word or another more comprehensive software
Once I know the grammar is mostly fixed, I go back to Scriv and re-read the entire chapter start to finish – I’m looking for whatever google didn’t catch, wonky phrasing, repetition (i.e. I used the word ‘quickly’ twice in the space of two paragraphs, that sort of thing)
I go away for a bit (anywhere from a few hours to a few days) and do another careful re-read with a fresh set of eyes. Sometimes I use a text-to-speech software to read what I’d written back to me; you'd be surprised how much you pick up this way
In my great excitement, I publish the new chapter to AO3. As I re-read the chapter over there, I see a minimum of 5 glaring errors I somehow didn’t spot in the previous steps, and hastily correct them before anyone notices.
I like to get at least the first 2-3 chapters of a brand new story written before I post anything to AO3. This is to make sure my enthusiasm doesn’t immediately wane and I actually stand a chance of finishing it. After that I’m rarely more than a chapter ahead of what’s been posted, because go figure I’ll post the newly-written chapter once the editing is done, then start on the next one.
Some people won’t even post a story at all until they have the first draft fully written. This is admirable, but not always realistic – GHD is like 375,000 words, you think I would’ve sat down and written all that before posting chapter one and even knowing if anyone would read it? Hell no.
But while you don’t need a story to be fully written, you do need it to be decently mapped-out. I used to start fics with absolutely no idea where they were going to go; I’d finish 1 or 2 chapters, get really excited at writing that much and hungry for feedback, then post something that I would inevitably lose all enthusiasm for and leave unfinished.
So, know how it starts, know how it ends, and know the story beats in between so you always have a goal to write towards. There will inevitably be fics that you never finish and that’s fine – it’s all writing practice – but readers don’t like to be left hanging, so try your best to finish! Even if it takes ahem four years or so.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐
And there you go, that’s my writing process! I’m not sure how useful that really is, but if it was I could write more guides in future? I have…
A guide to my writing style (this one might be hard to put into a guide but people like my turn of phrase so, maybe useful?)
How I write a sex scene
How I write a fight scene.

Bound by Law (Matt Murdock x Reader)
Words: 4371 (chapter 36)
Summary:
You and Matt met in the courtroom. Now, you may think that Matt was a knight in shining armour and defended you in the name of all United States laws, but that was not the case. Matt was totally destroying your client, and you wanted to tear him into pieces right then and right there, because with Murdock as your rival, your head is on the firm's plate with each case. Did Matt care? No, he only cared about bringing justice, he was a human-machine, driven by the need to bring righteousness no matter the cost. Or was he just that? What happens when you get involved in Fisk's business and Daredevil's lies against your will?

36. Interlude
"This doesn't change anything, Ben."
"Except now we know who your king of diamonds is." Foggy adds to Karen's words and looks at Ben, standing in the the middle of the office.
"You see the news? Everything's changed. Fisk has gotten out in front of being dragged into the spotlight. My editor thinks he's the Second Coming. Hell, the whole city does." Ben pulls out a fresh newspaper, Fisk proudly occupying the whole front page.
"So, we just... We keep digging."
"I've been doing that. Internet went from nothing on Fisk to filled with three-hanky stories about a poor little fat kid from Hell's Kitchen. Abandoned by his father when he was 12. Mother died a year later. Now look at him. Boot straps and a big dream." Ben exhales loudly, rubbing his forehead.
"Somebody knows something. It's just a matter of asking the right people the right questions in the right tone of voice." Foggy says, sure of his words.
"Yeah, that's how you get yourself hurt." Ben raises his eyebrows theatrically.
"That's what I keep telling them." Matt silently slips inside the office upon Ben's last words. "Maybe they'll listen to you."
"Ben Urich, Matt Murdock. Attorney at Why the Hell Bother." Karen introduces the two of them with a hint of annoyance.
"Mr. Murdock." Ben shakes his hand.
"Matt." Matt corrects Ben, hearing your slow steps outside in the corridor.
You return to the office, moments later, noticing a new face in the middle of the room. Extending your arm, you intently look at his face, "I know you from somewhere."
"Ben Urich, New York Bulletin." He takes your hand, eyes shining in a weird way, as if he knew more about you than you did. Taking in your rather disheveled appearance.
"Y/n." You let go of his hand first, "You were that journalist in courtroom when I had my case televised."
"Yes, and I gotta say, it was a pretty damn good case." He cracks a smile, yet you don't show any signs of appreciation.
"You also wrote about the attack on me at Hogarth, Chao and Benowitz. Could've tried to write at least a believable amout of lies." You say, watching his reaction.
His smile doesn't fall, on the contrary, it only gets bigger, "Well, in my line of work, that's a compliment.
Foggy shakes his head at the interaction and brings back the previous topic, "My partner thinks we should be pursuing this through the legal system."
"A lot safer that way." Ben agrees.
"Well, why don't we all just crawl under the covers, then?" Karen ignites again, and you close your eyes in hopes of keeping your mouth shut this time, already catching up with the talk.
"No, Karen-" Matt begins softly, only to be cut short by Karen.
"Well, I'm sorry, but if Fisk is really behind everything that has happened, then we need to do something."
"If we were the only ones after him, I'd tend to agree." Ben says mysteriously, "Friend of yours came to see me the other night the man in the mask."
"Terrorist cop-killer." Foggy repeats Fisk's previous words, and you can't help but agree with Fisk here. Your heart drops and face becomes even paler than it was since the day started.
"Says he was framed." Ben adds nonchalantly, turning around to catch everyone's expressions. Matt turns his back away from the group.
"I could say I'm Captain America, but it doesn't put wings on my head." Foggy rolls his eyes, only to be shut by Karen.
"What did he want?"
"Same thing we do... expose Fisk. I printed this from a thumb drive he gave me." Ben hands Karen a bunch of papers. She snatches them like a hawk and hurries to sit behind her desk. In the meantime, you lean on the nearby wall, feeling that the dizziness from lack of sleep and not eating normal food is finally catching up with you.
"Oh, my God!" Karen exclaims and starts flipping through the pages.
"Told me Fisk was behind the bombings and shooting those cops said he owns half the police that they helped him take down the Russians." Ben continues, looking around the room again, and takes a notice that you're not yourself today. He remembers vividly that day when he sat in the courtroom during your televised case - you were almost glowing and full of life. Now it seemed to him that you were either sick or angry or depressed.
"But I don't understand. If you have all of this, then..." Karen blabbers again, only this time Matt interrupts her.
"Hearsay. Can't print any of it without corroboration, can you?"
"He could just be throwing smoke. I mean, he just killed Detective Blake." Foggy adds, much to Matt's displease.
"Said Blake's partner Hoffman did it, probably on Fisk's orders. But yeah, it occurred to me." Ben nods.
"You could talk to Hoffman." Matt pouts in thought, and you almost find it amusing in this kind of situation.
"Tried. He's in the wind. Or bottom of the river. Either way."Ben shrugs, now completely helpless.
"He just shrugged." Foggy says to Matt.
"Wait, what about the Union Allied money? Is there a way that we can tie it directly to Fisk?" Karen rises from her chair.
"Maybe. According to the Mask, a man named, uh, Leland Owlsley runs the books. But since getting roughed up by him, Owlsley's been surrounded by Fisk's security. Can't get anywhere near him." Ben shakes his head, "Same goes with, uh, James Wesley, the guy you said hired you to defend Healy."
Upon the mention of Wesley, you feel two sets of eyes staring at you. "What?" You say defensively, "I'm not in contact with him anymore." Crossing your arms, you turn your eyes towards the window, avoiding making eye contact with anyone in the room. Ben raises an eyebrow at Karen, but she only grimaces slightly, not giving any answer to his wordless question. Matt senses something in your voice, perhaps an underlying lie that he can't put a finger on just yet.
"Look, the Mask came to Ben for help. And I don't care how rich Fisk is, nobody can totally erase their past. I mean, somewhere out there, there has to be a piece of paper, a witness... the truth."
"What about Confederated Global? The suit that hired us to defend Healy standing right next to Fisk when he gave his big speech." Foggy looks at you again, only to find you staring with a hard look on your face out the window.
"I looked into that. According to FCC filings, Confed Global's where Fisk gets most of his reported income."
"All right, let's play this out. If Fisk is connected to Confed Global, that means he's involved in Westmeyer-Holt Contracting, which Westmeyer-Holt is strong-arming tenants out of their rent-controlled apartments." Matt gestures with his hands slightly, pulling back your attention. For whatever crazy reason, he felt sorry that you were put into this position by Wesley now. After your last burst of emotions, Karen felt distrustful towards you, but in Matt's mind that was understandable reaction.
"Um, they were hired by a guy named Armand Tully." Karen quickly adds.
"The slumlord?" Ben makes sure he heard it right.
"Landman and Zack say he's on vacation on an island that no one can pronounce, where they use coconuts as phones." Foggy shrugs, and you wonder if he's still in contact with Marci. Foggy catches your curious look and feels his cheeks burning.
"Another connection in the wind." Ben hangs his head low, earning an apologetic look from Karen.
"Westmeyer-Holt to Confed to Fisk. We pull that thread, see what it unravels." Matt begins circling around the room.
"Still not sure about this mask guy." Foggy says and you agree with him with a hum.
"He didn't hurt Ben and he didn't hurt me. I'll take the Devil of Hell's Kitchen over Fisk any day. Plus, he kicks ass." Karen says, eyes clashing with you.
"Karen, you know, maybe refrain from these talks in a law office, or someone might think that you're ready to take his place in jail." You smile at her sourly. Karen bites her lip, clearly not satisfied with the way you put her in her place. "He's a vigilante after all."
Ben nods to himself again. Your frustration was justifiable, he knew what it felt like to lose a well-paid job and start a new chapter of life. Maybe life wasn't treating you right now.
"Well, if he's such a badass, why did he come to Ben? Why not just take Fisk down himself?" Foggy silently agrees with you.
"Maybe he knows there's some roads you can't come back from." Ben replies mysteriously.
***
You look around, noticing the interior of the church. Clinton Church. You've never been here before. Your parents were not too religious to regularly go to church, so it didn't pass on you either. God? You didn't believe in God, because in the end, you saved yourself, not God. He didn't save you, he didn't save anyone. God was just a mythical creation, made up so that in the worst moments, people wouldn't lose their hope. God didn't mean anything to you, because if he was real, if he was righteous, you wouldn't have to deal with all these injustices everyday. If he was real, the world would've been a better place. But it wasn't. Never going to be.
The lights were lit on only at the front, only near the altar, and you catch yourself looking at the cross and Jesus on it. Was he even real? Or was he only a copy of someone else's imagination? Every cross was different, unique, yet everyone imagined the same man crucified, same man hanging his head to the side, same man with a woven crown of thorns, sticking into his forehead like needles. If he was real, in your mind he was stupid. Sacrificing yourself for the sins of the people? They were not worth it, not then and surely not now. Maybe he was real. Maybe he was a saint, but he was also blind. Blind to notice that humanity wasn't ready to understand his sacrifice, blind to think that it still meant something thousands of years later. Blind like Lady Justice.
Involuntary, you shiver. The air was rather cool inside the church and somehow, not even your coat was keeping you warm. Turning to your right, you glance at Foggy, eyes cast down into his lap, fingers nervously playing with the hem of his coat. Movement in the front catches your attention and you see Father Lantom emerge from the shadows. He looks at all four of you, eyes lingering on a new face here - you. Feeling uneasy under the intense gaze, you bow your head down, almost in shame. You've never liked priests in general, because they looked at you as if they knew who you were under that facade. Father Lantom notices the change in your face and clear his throat.
You only hear half of the things that he's saying; distracted by the way sunlight falls though the multicoloured windows and Karen's silent sniffling, you felt like an intruder here. Father continued talking about God, the fragility of life and the values of believing. None of this made sense to you, so you distracted your thoughts from the reason that brought all four of you here. Wesley. That bastard really sugar-coated you before throwing you unprepared to the lions. And now he was proudly marching behind Fisk on live television? You felt sick again, the need to throw up returned, yet there was nothing in your stomach the whole day, and the acidic aftertaste returned.
"Shall we go?" Foggy nudges your arm gently, and you look at him wide-eyed for a good second.
"Yeah." You whisper, and get up, letting everyone pass through, side lining with Matt. Father Lantom walks behind the two of you, clearly in thought. Matt has mentioned a woman before, he spoke so fondly of her that Lantom was in no doubt that Matt fell in love. He now wondered if that woman was you, or Karen; but Karen's name has been said when Matt talked about the friendships that he made. So it left him with one answer - you.
"Excuse me, but I don't think I've seen you in church before." Father Lantom comes in between you and Matt, and gives a warm smile, almost making you grimace at his comment. You knew it bound to happen, these type of things were always inevitable.
"Um, yeah, no, I'm not really a churchgoer." You shrug slowly, turning your eyes away from his piercing blue ones.
"Not religious or not enough time?" Father smiles again, so kindly, that you feel the urge to pour your heart out to him.
There was that feeling again, feeling that he can read you like an open book. "A bit of both." You say at first, then feeling like it's not a good place for lying, add, "mostly the first one."
"Ah. Well, Matthew here has been caught up in his work, he never visits me these days."
"Father..." Matt begins, feeling exposed. Father knows about his little nightly rendezvous, so it shouldn't really surprise him that he doesn't go to church any more.
"Oh, really?" You ask, stealing a glance at Matt, then crack a small smile, "blame me for this one Father, since he employed me, we've been very busy with work. And... I'm not a particularly good influence on him."
Matt feels his cheeks heating up.
"Really? Well, Matthew, I'll take it to consideration for your next confession. Whenever that may be."
"Yeah." Matt mutters, thankful to finally go out into the fresh air.
Nearing the small graveyard that was close to the church, you notice the casket next to the grave. Shivers run down your spine, head full of unpleasant memories and images, but you try to calm yourself, blaming it on the wind. All four of you stand at the end of the grave, watching the graveyard worker lower the casket into the ground slowly, accompanied by the final words that Father is saying to Mrs Cardenas, and almost instinctively, your hand finds Matt's by his side, slipping your fingers between his cold ones. The emotions run wild through your head, your blood, but you only close your eyes, focusing on the warmth that you felt when Matt squeezes your hand back. Opening your eyes, you turn to your right briefly, noticing a single tear rolling down Matt's cheek - so different from the sobbing beside you from Foggy and Karen. You glance at your hands tightly pressed together, so almost perfectly fitting, and only now realize just how close he was standing from the beginning.
Father closes the Bible, and a quick glance at Matt and you, answers his questions. The way you looked at him told a million things, but most importantly, it told Father that Matt's feeling were not one-sided.
***
"I've been such an asshole to her the first time we met." You scoff, hiding your face behind an almost empty whiskey glass. Foggy and Karen share a look, one that you wouldn't be able to decipher, even if you noticed it in the first place. "I guess they really turn you into a robot in HCB."
"Well, I know for a fact that people turn worse in Landman and Zack." Matt replies, drinking as well. If tonight was about drowning sorrows, he was making sure he fulfilled that.
Karen turns her face towards the TV and her eyes widen immediately. Foggy nudges your elbow, making you turn to look at the screen, and the need to throw up returns again. "Hey, Josie, could you turn that up?"
"No, I never had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Cardenas. I only recently took possession of her building." Fisk blabbers on the screen again, and you notice Wesley standing behind him. How the hell did the press find out about Elena so quickly?
"How do you respond to reports that you knew the tenement was unsafe?" A reporter asks, but Fisk doesn't move a single muscle in protest.
"That is accurate." He replies, taking a pause after the sentence. "That's why we offered a substantial sum to Ms. Cardenas and her neighbours. To help them relocate." He looks around at all the press, Wesley scanning the crowd like a hawk. "We should never let good people get swallowed up by this city. I mourn this woman's death."
You loudly scoff to yourself, and the whole table of Nelson and Murdock find themselves internally agreeing with you.
"Didn't have to happen. It should've..." Fisk's words get interrupted by Foggy's ringing phone. "Her passing is a symptom of a larger disease..." Foggy fishes his phone and leaves the table. "- infecting all of us. Disease of fear..." The TV glitches for a couple of times, only pieces of sentence are heard. "...fear of bombings, fear of cop killings. Fear of a masked psychopath."
Matt feels his blood boiling in his alcohol-filled veins.
"We shouldn't let people like that take our city from us. We need to stand together. Let them know that they will fail... because we believe we can make a difference." Fisk's words make you wonder if he has learned the speech beforehand and if Wesley wrote it. After all, he was doing all the butt-kissing. " 'Cause they are cowards! Afraid of stepping out of the shadows. Afraid of standing up for people like Mrs. Cardenas."
"Mr. Fisk, how does this affect the upcoming benefit?" Someone behind the camera shouts.
Wesley steps up into the spotlight, "That will be all. Thank you." Hearing his voice again after days of radio silence caused your anger to spike up.  "No more questions."
"What can we do about this psycho..." another man begins, only to be cut short by a commercial break.
"Jesus, he almost sounds like he means it." Karen is the first one to break the silence.
"I think he does." Matt answers shortly.
Karen scoffs, "And he's calling the man in the mask a psycho?" With this one, you agreed. The man in the mask was a psycho to you, and Karen's enthusiasm to constantly talk about how great he is, sometimes made you think that she was madly in love with the vigilante. "I hope they trace what happened to Elena right to his doorstep."
"He'd never expose himself like that. Plus, half the force is probably in his pocket. Well, then, let's pray the Mask gets his hands on him. Knocks his goddamn head off."
"You religious, Karen?" Matt suddenly asks, but the topic doesn't pick up your attention.
"My parents were. That's probably why I'm not. You?"
"Catholic." Matt answers shortly. You receive a fresh whiskey glass and down it in one go, relaxing your muscles when it burns your throat.
"Does it help? With things like this?"
"Not today." Matt moves his lips slighly, which looks like a half of a grin. "I think I've had enough. Tell Foggy I'll see him in the morning." You pick up Matt's last words and turn to look at him already getting up to leave.
"Wait, I'm going too." You gently stop him by grabbing his wrist and his whole body goes stiff.
"Hey, Matt. If there is a God and if he cares at all about about any of us Fisk will get what he deserves." Karen says to Matt while you pull out a 100 dollar bill and give it to Josie. "You have to believe that."
"I do." He replies, still lingering next to the table while you put on your coat.
"Tell Foggy..." you begin, sliding your hand on Matt's elbow a little too comfortably for Karen's liking, but she just puts you down for being drunk, "tell him nothing, I'm an independent woman. Lights out!" You say and quickly disappear in the street.
Matt says nothing. His mind was occupied by other things, until you decided to grab a taxi together, but eventually agreed to swing by his place. Why? Because Matt insisted on ordering a takeout, adding "I don't think you ate proper food today at all" in a fatherly tone.
***
Foggy's new case was interesting for about 30 minutes, while you two shared a huge pizza. The whole time you avoided acknowledging the obvious, not talking about Elena or Fisk at all costs. Before Matt introduced beer to the conversation, which got you quite tipsy and relaxed; if you're not counting the alcohol consumed at Josie's.  At first it was light talk, jokes, giggling and laughing, trying to lighten up the sour mood, until you felt your stomach hurt, but then, as usual, the conversation turned to more serious topics.
Matt spins the bootle in his hand lazily, legs stretched out on the coffee table, as the laughter dies, his face becomes serious, maybe even curious and you wait for his question. "So, what was that thing with you and Karen?"
"What thing?"
"The thing... You know... Shouting one."
"Oh, that." You take a long sip of the beer, trying to delay answering for as long as possible. "I just don't like others in my business, that's all."
"Why's that?" He raises an eyebrow.
"Well it's quite a long story... But in short, some guy almost fucked up mine and Pug's internship."
"Don't leave me hanging now." He shoots a shy grin.
"Well, we got lucky with that internship, very lucky actually." You sigh, stretching your legs on Matt's coffee table as well. "And Dave was there too."
"Oof, I hate Dave already." Matt huffs a laugh, "wait, who's Pug?"
"My college best friend. So, anyway, we basically won the lottery with our internship at Latham & Wakins, this is still one of the best law firms in LA, and only very few students get to intern there. Of course, our professor wanted to send as many students as he possibly could to the firm, mainly caring about his own reputation as the best prof in the whole university, but I know that he also wanted us to succeed. So Pug and I, we get internships, we're over the moon, we go out, drink like there's no tomorrow, and then we bump into one guy from our classes." You clear your throat, taking a sip again.
"Dave, right?" Matt asks, with slow movements loosening his tie.
"Yeah. So he's a total shit-talker, we're absolutely wasted, and somehow he talks us into getting him into Latham & Wakins. Next day, we go to the offices, they walk us around, introduce us to the bosses and blah blah, and this fucker, he befriends our boss. Not only befriends, he sleeps with her." You raise your eyebrows for a dramatic effect.
"No way." Matt lets out a laugh, going to bring more beer, still paying attention to your talk.
"Guess what happened then. He takes all of our cases. Our prof starts getting angry, he calls the firm's boss, I remember this, we were smoking outside his office when he made the call. So, he calls her, he's like 'my two brightest students are interning at your firm, and three weeks later you still haven't given them a case?'. I have no idea what's happening on the other side of the phone, but our prof is just pissed, he smokes two cigarettes during the whole phone call time, and let me tell you, the guy hasn't smoked in 20 years. He says that he fixed it and we can return to Latham & Wakins. We go there the same day, and we still don't get a fucking case. At this point, I'm fuming, I barge right into our boss's office, and there was Dave. Fucking her on her desk."
"No-" Matt gasps, handing you a new bottle and sitting a bit closer on the sofa than before.
"I wanted to forget that image for years, and I still can't." You shiver dramatically. "They catch me and Pug in the parking lot, beg us to not expose them and promise that we will get all the best new cases. Of course, we agree, holding it against them that we can and will expose their little affair if it's necessary, because she was a married woman. All's good, we get full marks for our internship, we get paid more than we could've imagined, but just as we step out with our internship documents, we call our prof, and expose that bitch."
"She got fired?"
"Not only that, she's suspended from practising law for five years, and Dave was kicked out of university as soon as he returned."
"That's one hell of a ride." Matt laughs. "Now it kind of makes sense."
"Pug's the only person I trust with my work, he doesn't seek glory at the cost of others."
"What about me?" Matt's lips perk up into a smirk.
"You don't seem like the Dave-type." You smile warmly, noticing the distance between the two of you. "Although, I don't know you long enough to check that out."
"Not long enough? It feels like ages since I beat you in court."
"Yeah, and now I work for you." You laugh, earning another smile from Matt.
Matt suddenly changes the topic, "You know what Elena told me one time when you stepped out to smoke?" This immediately gains your attention.
"What?"
"She said that she has never seen someone so in love, but then there were you." His lips twich slightly. "But it sounded way better in Spanish."
"Why did she tell you that?" You smile, slightly furrowing your eyebrows. Being drunk right now was no help at all.
"She wanted me to know that since... you know, I can't really see those things."
"Oh." You sigh, not pulling your eyes away from Matt, "She was a very smart woman."
"Oh, really?"
"Yeah, she wasn't wrong." You blurt out, covering your mouth with your hand.
Matt stretches his hand out, his fingers brush against yours, and he gently takes your hand, touching your nails. "What color are they?" He softly asks, scooting closer.
"My nails?" You ask, trying to hide your surprise that he left with his touch. He nods, expectantly. "Red."
"Red like what?"
You furrow your eyebrows momentarily, but then you understand exactly what Matt meant. "Uh, it's dark red, almost like a chilli pepper or... Blood." His touch makes your head dizzy. "Or your glasses. I hate when you wear them." Feeling bold out of the blue, you take off his glasses, "your eyes are very pretty."
"Can I do something?" Matt asks, turning the talk away from himself once again.
"Depends."

What advice would Mera and Arthur give teenage Garth if Roy was bullying him
Sorry that it has taken me so long to answer this, but to be honest, I've had a hard time formulating a response to it. I feel like there's so many different nuances that I have to explain and I don't even know where to start...
Okay, I suppose I'll try to answer the base ask first: They probably wouldn't have much advice for him. It would probably be something along the lines of "ignore him" or "try not to worry about it." Unfortunately, I doubt that either Mera or Arthur would have much good advice for him in a situation like that.
Beyond that, it really makes me want to ramble about Roy and Garth's early relationship because it is so messy and complicated. To be honest, Garth really wasn't around Roy all that much during his teenage years. They converged on a few missions through the Teen Titans, sure, but after Roy joined the team permanently, there wasn't all that many times that Garth got to interact with him. (Retcons have changed this a little bit, but.... I prefer this version...) In those few interactions they had, most of them were negative. Roy had a lot going on in his life and that caused him to lash out at people. This wasn't fair to them, mind you, but he did it to just about everyone.
Eventually, Roy started to grow a lot as a person and stopped being so much like that. The other Titans got to see his growth and they all grew pretty close. But since Garth was absent most of the time, he didn't get to bond with Roy the same way the other Titans did.
Because the very limited interactions they had were mostly negative, Garth held onto the idea that Roy was a total jackass and specifically didn't like him.
On Roy's side, that's not at all true. Yeah, Roy was definitely a douchebag when he was younger, but he does not hate Garth. The things he said to Garth that came off negatively weren't specifically about Garth. He would have said it to anyone in those situations.
When they started to interact as adults, they held two VERY different views of how their relationship was. Garth thought Roy not-so-secretly hated him (and also thought he was racist towards Atlanteans), and Roy probably felt fairly neutral towards Garth but also had a little bit of nostalgia about him by proxy when talking about the old Teen Titans. I think that he WANTED to be closer with Garth, so he defaulted to the old jokes and jibes that seem to have worked for the other members regarding Garth.
Garth... wasn't fantastic at standing up for himself when he was younger, so he didn't make it very clear how much those comments upset him. He would tell Roy to stop, but never really enforced it much, thus allowing Roy to think it was all part of the little "game" between them. He thought he was coming off as affectionate in his teasing, and Garth never set the boundaries in an adult fashion to make it clear how much he didn't like it. (That isn't to say that Roy shouldn't have stopped when asked-- he just didn't understand HOW serious it was.)
That was until Gargoyle manipulating their emotions sort of forced them to confront this whole thing. I very much wish that comics meta hadn't made it so the confrontation became slightly moot after that point. Regardless, Roy's reaction to Garth actually telling him what he thought about him/his actions is VERY telling about Roy as a character and how he viewed all of their interactions.
They still clashed after this, but also had some very interesting conversations where they were able to meet in the middle.
If I were in charge of writing for them, I would LOVE to go and explore their relationship more and build off of that conflict. I would love to set up a situation where they are forced to confront this stuff again.
I'm off topic now tho.... But my point here being that Roy really didn't bully Garth in the classic sense. He absolutely DID put Garth down and make him feel awful, but the vast majority of it came from misunderstandings, miscommunication, and simply not being around each other much. So many of their issues could be resolved if they just TALKED.
So idk if the opportunity for Garth to ask Arthur or Mera advice on this would even arise, necessarily? Garth didn't really talk to them about this kind of stuff, and also the situation was far more complex than your typical childhood bullying.
I hope this provides at least a somewhat satisfactory answer! And sorry that I don't have more specific things to say on the Arthur/Mera front!

Xelzaz’s Telvanni Spellsword armor was altered to fit his new standalone scarf. Textures for the armor were not edited, and thus any mods or patches that change its textures will still be compatible.
Notes With the addition of the option to see Xelzaz opinion change live, many of Xelzaz's patches and plugins will need updating. These will happen a short while after the update, to allow the most people possible to have updated to 1.10
Xelzaz’s LOTD room will need to be updated to avoid seeing old meshes or missing new ones.

Some thoughts on this shipping discourse
I have already expressed MULTIPLE times how much I hate drama, so this is probably gonna be my last post on this topic. In the future, I might post less, not at all, or often but with only positive stuff. I just don't know if I can mentally handle being on here for much longer. Anyway, here are some thoughts:
Trying to convince Tkkrs they are wrong is not going to work.
I would like to challenge anyone here to think of a time when someone ACTUALLY changed their opinion on something after an online argument. Can't think of one? Exactly. Humans are stubborn, it's just part of who we are. Especially online, nobody is actually open to changing their opinion on things. We argue just for the sake of arguing.
And, we have to remember that Tkkrs are JUST as confident that their ship is real as we (Jkkrs) are. It may be stupid, but as a former Tkkr I would know (I had just joined the fandom and I was young, don't blame me for falling for the Taekook bs). Anyway, when I say I was confident in my belief that's an understatement. Eventually, I did stumble across Jikook, and the story is actually very funny. Again, I had just joined the fandom and hilariously, my mom was starting to get into BTS too. One day, she stumbled across a Jikook video on youtube, called me in the room and showed me, saying "look how in love these two are". I was hesitant at first (still being a tkkr at the time), but I watched it with her, because she was my mother; someone that I knew and trusted. If some random person online had sent me the same video and told me to watch it, I wouldn't have. I would be pissed and ignore it. My point is, to convert me from a Tkkr to a Jkkr, it took my own mother showing me a video, and explaining to me that with her almost 60 years of life experience, she could tell they were in incredibly in love.
Nobody's gonna listen to a random person's opinion on line. At least, not with an open mind.
2. We're just giving toxic people the attention they want.
More than 50% of what I see on Jikook Tumblr recently is answers responding to toxic people's posts, whether those people are tkkrs, antis, or solo stans. Because we answer all their stupid questions, more of these people are coming out of the woodwork to share their own stupid opinions. And then it's just a toxic circle.
Even though it may give you some satisfaction to roast random strangers on the internet (I even enjoy reading roasts by jkkrs sometimes), it's really not worth it. We're just giving them the attention they want. If we just ignored them for a while and didn't answer their questions or respond to them, they wouldn't go away, but we would definitely see less of them on here.
Also, aren't we kinda being hypocrites? When tkkrs leave hate on Jikook posts we all get together to hate on them (which is justified) but we seem to have no problem when jkkrs leave hate on Taekook posts. I know it's different because Jikook is real and taekook isn't, but again, we're not going to convince them by leaving hate comments. We're just gonna piss them off more. Honestly, I think the only thing that would shut tkkrs up once and for all is if Jikook came out with their relationship, and we all know that's not going to happen, at least not anytime soon.
Ok, I think that's the end of my rant. Please let me know if you agree with me or not. If you disagree, I totally understand. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I'm just sharing mine.
ALSO 3 more things:
1: please feel free to send me asks! I will respond to ALL of them as long as they are not toxic.
2: does anyone know any platforms where the Jikook community is welcoming and nice? It may sound stupid but I think that's what I really need right now. I have no BTS friends and would LOVE someone to talk to about them.
3: let me know if you would like me to stay on here. I'm almost definitely not gonna post any more stuff about this drama, but I will 100% post more cute and wholesome Jikook moments if y'all want me to.
I love you all, thank you so much 💜

The Bird-Locker-Room (aka. La Locker Room Aux Folles)
Having just rewatched The Birdcage in preparation, I am now ready to wildly speculate about how Ted Lasso episode 9 could parallel Folles. We have 3 confirmed queer main characters and 3 directions this can go. I could see each of these options happening individually or I could see some combination of them.
Side note: if you are in the US (or have a VPN) The Birdcage (1996) is currently free with ads on youtube.
Also for those who don't know, this weeks episode title "La Locker Room Aux Folles" is a reference to La Cage Aux Folles, a french musical with songs in the show's soundtrack. It was then adapted into the movie The Birdcage with Robin Williams.
Here are what I see as the essential elements of La Cage/Birdcage:
An elaborate scheme to overcompensate and hide one's sexuality
Well meaning character asks gay character to act straight
Media Circus
Drag (the fourth element of Total Football is Drag :) )
Option 1: Colin Hughes
Obviously, we know that Colin's plot line is going to play in the next episode. It's in the first line of the episode summary. Here are the ways I could see that playing out. Many of these I don't want to see happen but I am saying they could.
Colin concocts some kind of elaborate rouse in order to try to convince Issac that he is straight and those photos of men were just a joke
Issac asks Colin to be more careful in order to protect the reputation of the team
Issac takes Colin to a drag show to be supportive but the press show up
Some kind of interaction with a conservative politician. Could mirror Sam's experiences and change Colin's mind about wanting not wanting to be a representative for the queer community
Michael. Just think he's going to be involved
Option 2: Trent Crimm
Realistically, I think it is likely that Trent plays into this next episode mainly as an accessory of Colin's story. That said there is the opportunity here for a B plot that mirrors Colin's A plot.
Trent attempts to play off a boyfriend as a friend around the club (similar to how Colin introduced Michael in Episode 3)
Trent finds ways to subvert the media circus or throw off the trope. Think of this as: what the Birdcage might have been like if the reporters were gay and wanted to respect everyone's privacy
Less likely but what all the Tedependent girlies (ungendered) want, fake dating trope
Option 3: Keeley Jones
I don't think Keeley is going to play a major role in this episode simply because we have seen so much of her in the last 2 episodes. Typically we don't see the show focus on one character (other than Ted) for 3 episodes in a row.
Keeley as publicist could be involved in the media circus and/or subverting the media circus
Other wild connections to Ted Lasso that I made while watching the movie:
The Fiance and her family have the last name Keeley
Agador trying to wear dress shoes reminds me of Dani at the funeral
Armand's mustache and a certain other mustached protagonist
Things I'm hopeful about:
Jokes. One of the strengths of The Birdcage is that it is a comedy. It takes a very serious topic like coming out and makes it appealing to a broader audience by making it funny. I'm going to call it now, this episode is going to get backlash. By cutting it with jokes like they did in the Birdcage/La Cage, the reception might be better.
This being an extremely homosexual episode
Things I'm nervous about:
To many jokes. They are walking a line. We all know it.
Not enough drag. It's such an important part of the original but I can't see it happening in Ted Lasso
The fact that my mom is in town and will be watching with me

Hello Anon, this is your Oldie Chinese Diaspora Anon™️. The topic of the “Dream Fairy” dolls by DBS is going to be one of those controversies that will not fully die. There are a lot of grounds to cover here.
One thing I cannot do is to “weigh in” in the sense of putting a line in the sand. I prefer to present the facts as they stand; it is up to the individual to make the decision that they believe is right for them. To the best of my ability, I will run as succinct a summary for you as possible.
Dream Fairy is one of the many lines from DBS (DeBiShen Ltd. A Chinese toy factory.) The company works like a Mattel with different lines of dolls. Each line has the same facial sculpt with the differences focused on individually separate fashion designs. Think “different Barbies, same sculpt”.
This company known to plagiarize other BJD sculpts as the basis of their vinyl/ABS molds. The face sculpts from the 1/3 line is plagiarized from AS’s Liu Ruishi
Dream fairy:

The face sculpt for the ¼ anime line maybe plagiarized from TF’s Rita

The 1/6 lines have been plagiarized from Lina ChouCh0u (DBS Leisure Girl:

, Lina ChouChou Baby Piyo:
Tumblr media
And SecretD0ll (DBS Dudu:
Tumblr media
, Secret Doll Mong:
Tumblr media
The 1/12 blind box seems to have taken their inspiration from Obitsu. But there are no direct 1:1 “original” found, yet.
There are suggestions that the facial molds were “transcribed” from legit BJD to counterfeit BJD into vinyl. Details are scant, however.
The original 1/3 bodies were highly similar to the YeL0Li (Night L0lita) bodies. The original ¼ bodies were most likely original to DBS. The new 1/3 is an enlarged version of the ¼, with minor changes.
The original 1/6 bodies were found from multiple factories. It’s tough to say who came up with it first. The “original” part of any Dream Fairy doll is the ensemble. Since they do not sell their clothes separately, people have bought their dolls for the clothes.
Best considered as “large Barbies”, their price point is a lot cheaper with similar capacity for customization, which is what makes them attractive. DBS’s history of plagiarizing other dolls has been noted by several different vendors and a good number of doll collectors. Since the release of their MT Blindbox series, several proxies have refused to carry them due to DBS’s history.
Sometimes, the decision to not carry their products were instigated by the collectors themselves:
Tumblr media Tumblr media

If price point is the hook, there are several Chinese MJD companies that are completely original: Xinyi, Kurhn, YeLoLi and Monst are the examples I can think of on the top of my head that are not V0lks. If the facial sculpt is what you are interested in, there are the resin “originals” at a higher price point available. At the end of the day, whether you want to buy a DBS doll or not, the choice is up to you. They are, just as I’ve suggested earlier, a kind of “Controversial Doll”. They are not totally legit but they are also not an out-and-out recast.
As someone said, whatever you do with your money really is your choice. How other folks in the hobby decide to see you is their choice as well. Legality should never be the bottom line when it comes down to morality, after all.

Good afternoon Sex Witch!
I was hoping you could help me figure out how to change how I think about sex and unlearn some prudishness/ disentangle it from more genuine concerns and red flags.
Yadda yadda conservative small town childhood, classic backstory. I definitely got a sense of… I guess, safety and rightness by being very “these things are always bad”; not just sex things but sex was, of course, still one of the big things. Of course, then came puberty, and getting out of my comfort zone, and realizing how toxic purity culture was. Growing up meant, in part, my learning to do better by re-examining things I’d taken for granted.
That’s why I’m asking: there’s a lot of… lingering discomfort with a few things. I realized I still feel pretty… uncomfortable around people who have a lot of sex with multiple partners, along with the topics of polyamory and open relationships. I’m monogamous and I’m not ashamed of that, and of course I keep my opinions to myself when around friends who are happy in non-monogamous relationships. Cuz like, this is ABSOLUTELY a me-problem. I would just like to not feel like this and be unambiguously happy for people I otherwise love living their best lives.
(I’m also single and shy; I strongly suspect that envy over people who can attract multiple partners when I can’t seem to even attract one is a polluting variable.)
Regardless, do you have any links to point me to or thoughts to help me dismantle this ugly bigotry protoplasm? Cuz I know I’m wrong; I’d just like to get the bit of my brain to stop sending these stupid alarm signals.
hi anon,
okay, so, first I just want to say congrats to you on the obvious massive amounts of work that you've done to identify the biases you were raised with and work to uproot them. I know you're here because you feel you still have work to do, and I respect that completely, but I think it's also important to recognize that you've clearly come very far from what you were raised with. being able to recognize when something is a you-problem is HUGE.
I also want to say, as gently and with as much love as possible, that it may not ever be possible to totally 100% possible eradicate thoughts that we don't like. in a way, the idea that we can and should be able to control our impulsive reactions to things is still very conservative, right? it's the idea of "thought crime," except now instead of being upset at yourself for having a sexual thought it's being upset for having a thought that's not sexually open enough.
while I understand wanting to eradicate that unpleasant little "yuck" response out of your brain forever, I also believe very firmly that your thoughts alone don't define you or your values. okay, so your knee-jerk reaction to someone you love announcing that they're in an open relationship is discomfort. but what are your actions? what are you saying and doing? are you lecturing them about their immoral lifestyle, or are you pushing that discomfort aside and doing your best to be supportive of someone else's happiness even if you don't personally get it?
your actions and how you're treating the people you care about matter a lot more than the thoughts that you can't help.
having said that, it's still nice to have some framework for how to work through those feelings of discomfort to at least see if it's possible to diminish them and change that line of thinking. luckily, sex educator Nadine Thornhill just wrote about this in her latest newsletter, which I definitely recommend checking out - Dr. Thornhill is gem.
so, with full credit and hoping that she would forgive me for borrowing, here's an excerpt from Dr. Thornhill's newsletter:
Like all humans, I have a judgey little mind that is constantly observing, assessing, assuming, inferring, and drawing conclusions based on random stimuli. That’s always happening, even when I’m in sex-educator mode. But what I can do (and you can, too, if you want) is practice being mindful of my judgements, especially negative judgements. The most critical part of the practice has been getting curious about my body signals. When someone makes a sexual decision I don’t like, a question I try to ask myself is: What does that feel like in my body? Sometimes, I’ve struggled to maintain that level of in-the-moment mindfulness when working with real people and consequences.Movies and TV have helped me explore some of that stuff. It’s a safe place to judge fictional folks and their fictional sexual choices freely. Meanwhile, being able to pause, rewind or replay a provocative scene lets me take the time to take stock of my physical reactions. With time and practice, it’s become easier to recognize the specific muscle tension and rapid breathing that signals disapproval. Why is this important? We may not be able to stop ourselves from forming judgements about other people’s sexual choices. But if we understand and acknowledge them as judgements rather than facts, we can work to avoid imposing our will on other people. One way we might do so is by asking ourselves the following questions: Does this person’s decision affect my body, relationships, or autonomy? What would have to be true for me to want to make this same choice? What might make this a positive choice for this person right now? How might my own experiences or situations be affecting my opinion? How can I express kindness and compassion while still respecting their right to make their own choice?
much appreciation to Dr. Thornhill for putting this so succinctly; I'd definitely recommend checking out her work for anon and anyone else!
