hi! I miss drawing with people in a café and some folks mentioned they'd like to mess with my sketches themselves and that sounds cool so this is now a thing. if u play gartic phone this is basically the complement mode! but without the fucking ring noise that freaks you out right when you're getting into the flow of it
few things are 1/there's no hard deadline! take this at ur own pace if u do, but 2/I'll also be finishing this sketch and I estimate it to take around uhh 3 to 4 days? from the time this is posted. so if that's a structure u like then let's aim for something done in that timespan as well! and 3/if u finish ur piece and post it and want me to see it the best way to do that is to @ this blog! above all we go into this one determined to have fun and enjoy. I already bought u a matcha latte with oat milk sorry if u don't want that
here I got u today a sketch that's supposed to be Riz Gukgak (SY) (grey bg version and transparent version for ur ease of peruse)
remember to have fun & be urself & finish ur drink & see u in 4 or 5

I have to wonder how many people celebrating AI translation also complain about "broken English" and how obvious it is something was Google translated from another language without a fluent English speaker involved to properly clean up the translation/grammar.
Because I bet it's a lot.
I know why execs are all for it—AI is the new buzzword and it lets them cut jobs thus "save" money and not have to worry about pesky labour laws when one employs humans—but everyone else?
There was some outcry when Crunchyroll fired many of their translators in favour of AI translation (with some people to "clean up the AI's work") but I can't help but think that was in part because it was Japanese-to-English and personally affected them. Same when Duolingo fired many of their translators in favour of LLM translation. Meanwhile companies are firing staff when it's English to another language and there's this idea that that's fine or not as big a deal because English is "easy" to translate and/or because people don't think of how it will impact people in non-English countries.
Also it doesn't affect native English speakers so it doesn't get much headway in the news cycle or online anyway because so much of the dominant media is from English-speaking countries and English-speakers dominate social media.
But different languages have different grammar structures that LLMs don't do, and I grew up on "jokes" about people speaking in "broken English" and mocking people who use the wrong word when it was clearly a literal translation but the meaning was obvious long before LLMs were a thing, too. In fact, the specific way a character spoke broken English has been a way to denote their native tongue for decades, usually in a racist way.
Then Google translate came out and "Google-translated English" became an insult for people and criticism of companies because it was clearly wonky to native speakers. Even now, LLMs—which are heavily trained on English compared to other languages—don't have a natural output so native English speakers can clock LLM-generated text if it's longer than a sentence or two.
But, for whatever reason, it's not seen as a problem when it goes the other way because fuck non-English readers or people who want to read in their native tongue I guess.

Queens could, of course, be involved in more overtly worldly patronage, often in an intercessory role. A well-documented example is the involvement of the Mercers' Company of London with Elizabeth Woodville in the late 1470s. The queen first interceded for the merchants in 1478, regarding a "fraye" between the king's servants and some London citizens. By December 1479 the company had a much more serious problem; it owed the king an onerous sum for non-payment of its subsidy, and for its alleviation it looked to both Elizabeth and the king's chamberlain (William, Lord Hastings). From the beginning the queen's abilities were recognized as exceptional, not only by the company but by Hastings, who encouraged the merchants to cultivate her rather than himself. In January 1480, after the merchants had given "grete lawde & thanke" to their court connections, including Thomas Grey and "the lord Ryvers", they reported that Hastings had cautioned them "to be more secrete of theyre frendes and that non avaunt be made who that is frendly and laboureth for us Except the quenes good grace oonly, whiche that is, & always hath ben, oure verrey good & gracious lady in the said mater & c.". Evidently dealing with the queen alone would get the company into less political trouble than open lobbying of her relatives -- an indication, perhaps, that Elizabeth was not considered one and the same with "the Woodvilles".
By 8 January 1480, the queen had managed to convince Edward to forgive 500 marks (£333 6s. lOd.) of the fine, and the company decided that she was their most promising option; four days later the fine was further reduced by the same amount.

people who come into my job to have their computers fixed talk such big talk sometimes. everyone thinks they're special and they can skip the line ahead of the 40 other fucking laptops & pcs in the back who have already been in. then this guy last night bitched for an hour talked to 3 managers because he "spoke to someone on the phone who works here" that we could do a data transfer in less than an hour. which is actually impossible and he came in at 6 pm, two hours before we closed anyways. & then talked big about how he would pay extra to cut in front of everyone (which we don't do) and then when we FINALLY checked him in I was telling him the price for all his shit and he was like "UM excuse me." like incredulous. you said you'd pay to cut the line and then when I tell you the actual cost for diagnostics, data transfer, basic setup & software install you act like a little bitch again

it just dawned on me that never once did I share anything regarding my Limbus OCs, cause I wanted to have everything ready - including their art - by the time I posted them, but I'm kind of impatient, so I'll just talk about one of them: Victor Frankenstein. I have a couple good drawings of him so I might attach those in a follow up cause I have most of them on my phone. ANYWAYS, let's get this bread
Victor Frankenstein
Peculiars: Solitary, Paranoid
Weapon: Galvanism (Modified Stun Baton Staff)
Associated Colour: #6B8778 "Rot Green"
Affiliation: Limbus Company
Occupation: LCB Sinner
Literary Source: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Associated Sins: Pride, Wrath, Gloom
Base EGO: Never-Ending Hubris
He joins LCB after the creation of the monster, who, in true project moon fashion, is a little bit more fucked up than the source material, as instead of just standing there Menacingly he actually attacks Victor on sight, breaking his jaw really badly. He gets an operation where he's given a prosthetic and is picked up by Vergilius shortly after.
His base EGO art, Never-Ending Hubris, depicts him in his collage dorm wearing the LCB Sinner pyjamas/prison outfits stitching the monster together- who is obscured by a white sheet. There's a couple of mementos like the medal with his mother's picture in it, a family photo, and a seperate picture of Elizabeth etc. The EGO itself would involve him having those electroshock thingies yk the ones doctor's use to revive a patient and him freaking tf out thinking the monster is still out there
The abnormalities I would kin assign to him are Shock Centipede (AEDD), Wayward Passenger (Dimension Shredder), Alleyway Watchdog (Telepole) and perhaps Pink Shoes (Roseate Desire).
His canto I imagine would take place after William and Justine's death, where Victor has a mental breakdown cause he knows he could have done something about Justine's verdict, but probably wouldn't have actually said anything to protect his own pride - much like in the novel. The Sinners try to find the culprit and eventually encounter the monster, who named himself Adam, and this is where we get a mashup of both Victor and Adam's backstory, where we're show the events as they happen simultaneously, though I've yet to think of an ending for it. Maybe they manage to "defeat" Adam, giving Victor the semblance of closure for delivering justice for both his little brother and adopted sister, and sarajinae plays. Idrk tbh, probably.
So far this is all I have for my funny guy, glad I finally got this out of my system tbh, have a nice rest of your day
