Dont call minors sweetheart. Its weird.
I'm guessing this is because I commented on Chase's post before they explained they were in fact, a minor.
I understand, I tend to call everyone sweetheart/honey/darling. It isn't done in a malicious way and for both legal and personal reasons, I will not address minors in that way moving forward.
I appreciate the callout, however, I don't appreciate the anonymity.

👋
saw a post about toxic people in fandom, and while it was strongly-worded, boy do i have things to add.
unfortunately, i know who this post is referring to, and i’ve refrained from talking about them up until now, but i think it’s good visibility for this community to have. that person was a notable presence in fandom and mutual of mine who, over time, underwent a significant personality and blog overhaul. they were once very sweet and intellectually-stimulating to talk to but shifted over to a toxic corner of the comic fandom and began to act in certain ways aligned with that corner of fandom (emphasis on corner of comic side, most comic fans i’ve spoken to are nothing but kind and welcoming). i want to shed light on some things i’ve witnessed. this person was an awesome content creator for live action dd, but, well. feel free to read on and form your own opinions.
yes, this is about briefcasejuice.
if you follow them, you'll have probably seen their posts about live action fandom, i.e. marvel's daredevil is "ableist", "racist", and liking it makes you problematic. like, i understand people fall out of love with media all the time, and i think virtually any reason is valid to leave. i don't care. what bothered me about this person was, ultimately, their repeated hypocrisy and behavior towards others in fandom.
up until the time i unfollowed, i was noticing their posts on my feed—initially innocuous—grow increasingly negative and unproductive. sure, tv discourse and critique is healthy and good, i have my own grievances with live action daredevil. but soon enough, it had extended to fandom, fandom creations, perceived fandom failure to engage with their content, people or ideologies they found problematic irl or on social media, everyday inconveniences, etc. it was just... the same old predictable negativity and virtue signalling reminiscent of those who are chronically online, but lacking in self-awareness and emotional regulation skills.
moreover, i found their response to some sincere, good-faith asks to be disappointing. iirc, there was one situation where some anon was trying to learn about transgenderism, and was met with a disproportionate negative emotional response. it was not a good look, and coincidentally that ask response was later deleted. in another situation, they were kindly asked not to use rape-promoting language in describing certain individuals that they disliked, and their response was to deny it when the language was uninterpretable in any other way. i remember seeing these on my feed, and they gave me pause about being friends with this person.
which brings me to why i'm adding this response in the first place, because while i do not care what views this person holds or what they do on their own blog, what really grinds my gears is the betrayal and disingenuous behavior towards friends in fandom. this person was best friends with user @/pastafossa and seemingly the number one fan of the fic “the red thread”; they’d blog about it repeatedly. i started reading the story because of their marketing. imagine my shock at these posts which were made less than two years apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this person also went on to complain repeatedly about a perceived lack of tumblr engagement to their own followers. tumblr engagement is notoriously shit, but there's a difference between asking and expecting. asking is reasonable, entitlement is ugly. and i have to wonder how much of their off-putting nature contributed to less engagement.
not to mention i recently found out that they had joined fandom misrepresenting their age, engaging with me and other adults in fandom through our heavily adult fanworks before they had turned eighteen. they had started engaging with my content in early 2022 with their age listed as adult at that time, but the current age listed on their blog (as of march 2024) doesn't reflect a continuity. further digging on other sites confirms this. this behavior is violating, not to mention that they, at least at one point, had a strict minors-do-not-interact policy on their blog.
it's clear that they over-identify with their interests to an unhealthy degree through their repeated attempts to cull their interests and gatekeep topics that they perceive to be esoteric and cool. and while i agree that there are parts of the daredevil media and fandom that need to change, this level of denial and vilification of one's past and the community that supported them is characteristic of someone who's mentally unwell, and i would encourage anyone reading this—content creators, authors, and artists—to stay away from this person and to brace yourself for fringe fandom behavior like this on this website.
(please do not send hate to anyone.)

Answering Asks about Isekai Maid! Pt.2
Asks are down below under the cut, and there are a bunch! Some of these are a bit old, sorry I couldn’t get to them in time. ( T w  T  )
Warning, I’m going to talk about topics like stalking, sui//cide, slavery, and domestic abuse. There’s also some swearing in the asks as well.
Tumblr media
Someone else does it, I have no presence on TVtropes. :P
Tumblr media
Thank you! Yes, I really enjoyed making Phantom in the Mirror, it actually helped me a lot and without it I wouldn’t have a lot of the building blocks to make Isekai Maid.
Tumblr media
I liked Melissa a lot, Yona and Yuri. Wish Yuri/Melissa were endgame, honestly, but I do like Nine too!
As for dislikes, I feel like Nine’s brother was a bit underdeveloped and I wanted them to really dive deep into his character and why he is the way he is. We get some of it in the side stories, but I really feel like there is something missing about him to make him whole...!
I want an anime dang it!
Tumblr media
I think it’s a matter of framing. So much of Otome Isekai in general is about reframing certain scenarios and looking at other character’s points of view. I’m sure that if we were following these characters in a comic/novel, we would be conditioned to accept whatever they do, even if it seems cruel because in this genre many protagonists believe that the ends justify the means as long as they have the excuse of “I need to survive at any cost.”
So Otome Isekai protagonists can justify having servants/commoners dragged away and executed/punished because they “didn’t know their place.” They can excuse things like slavery because “oh well, it’s the world I live in can’t stop it!,” and freely indulge in buying people. And there will be readers who don’t look past the in universe justifications and accept it at face value.
Tumblr media
Yes, Phoebe wanted to make sure that Clara didn’t have any allies. Interestingly enough, the original book that Phoebe and Clara were isekai’d into, “Flowers Thrive in Autumn,” was poorly received by audiences because of the tragedy elements and the ultimate fate of the original Phoebe (dying from domestic abuse) and Clara was one of the most hated characters in the book.
Helen, the reincarnator, was one of the readers who couldn’t stand her and thought that Clara didn’t deserve to have a happy ending because she felt it was at the expense of Phoebe. She was also a fan of the prince character, who was a minor character and she wanted to use him for protection. Phoebe reasoned that if Clara had any help or allies whatsoever that it would cause a butterfly effect and the story would make Phoebe die once again.
Tumblr media
One week. I work a lot of hours, it’s difficult to keep track because it can vary a lot.
I do 15 hours to do sketching, resketching based on the 3D model where I draw over the rendered image and lineart/flats.
6 hours to render the backgrounds in Blender (I have a specific process where I keep the model and size reference and lineart separated and have to save 3 files at a time).
Roughly it takes about 9 hours to add shadows, textures, and effects (5 hours if I book it!).
2-3 hours for writing dialogue, and about an hour and a half before launching the comic online to check for spelling errors.  And that doesn’t count when I have to reupload chapters after the fact when I notice errors, which can extend my schedule by one day or so.
Sometimes it’s more, since my schedule slips up and I don’t pull all nighters anymore (too tiring!).
Tumblr media
Yes, Phoebe is aware that Joshua’s death is an accident. But she felt that Phoebe took most of the brunt of the blame and thinks that Clara should take most of it.
Tumblr media
I think that there are so many things in the world that are normal, like demons being such a real threat where they have to alter funeral practices to keep them from spreading, to magic schools and teleportation, that the idea of reincarnation isn’t too far fetched.
Tumblr media
Thanks! Unfortunately, I have had the displeasure of watching that film for a film class. It wouldn’t surprise me if readers who justify slavery in stories like Death is the Only Ending for the Villainess, would look at Scarlett O’Hara and think of her as an inspiration.
We already have a lot of slavery isekai (which, honestly...why.), and while it breaks my heart that people justify and gush over slaveowners like Penelope and Scarlett O’Hara, it’s nothing new and is a sign that these kinds of stories are doing harm in how we depict human suffering in slavery.
Even back when the movie was released, people thought of Scarlett as a role model, even when she was the face of the exploitation and gleefully participated in the cruelest forms of human trafficking and suffering. As long as it convenient for the protagonist to do so, people will just about justify anything they do.
Tumblr media
Thank you! I find most of my designs from Dover Books, such as “Victorian Fashions: A Pictorial Archive, 965 Illustrations (Dover Pictorial Archive)“ and “Victorian and Edwardian Fashions from "La Mode Illustrée" (Dover Fashion and Costumes)“ You can find them on Amazon or online
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erica did regret it, and she did try to call it off, but it was too late. Erica at one point, truly did love Clara and thought of her as the daughter she never had, but she was also very subconsciously jealous of her older half sister, Misty (Clara’s mom) and took it out on Clara.
Erica and Misty were half sisters on their mother’s side. Their mother had slept with one of her Limpetta butlers, a man named Calvin, when she was an unmarried woman, and gave birth to Misty, who she adored. But her father forced her to give up Misty to Calvin and had them hidden away.
Her mother was then made to marry a much older man who was very wealthy. She gave birth to Erica, and while she showed her love but it was always underwhelming. When her husband died from old age, her mother wasted no time in finding Clavin again and marrying him, forgoing any inheritance she may have gotten as his wife and instead giving it to Erica.
Erica felt forgotten and familyless, but tried to maintain a relationship with Misty and be friendly with her. They were close, but there was always a lingering estrangement because Erica could tell that her mother loved Misty more than her.
When Misty got married and had Clara, Erica was given the chance to name her. Erica was touched and remained close to Clara. But the resentment still remained, and came again to the surface after she lost her son. She felt that Clara belonged to her more than Misty, and was the last remnant of her son but hated that she was alive while her son was dead.
Tumblr media
I’ve watched both! ( T 7  T   ) Sorry, but I always watch Otome Isekai when it gets an anime adaptation.
Tumblr media
Callisto...🤢🤮 Can’t stand slaveowner characters....I’ll take your word for it, I didn’t like him honestly!
Tumblr media
Yep! She survived the Three Week Riot, her name is Tabitha Nguyen.
Tumblr media
Sorry this answer came so late, but as soon I saw this message (back when the episode was posted) I updated the content warning!
Tumblr media
Pretty much. Clara said in passing to Phoebe that she had other lives, but never elaborated much. Phoebe kind of just assumed that she was also a reader who coincidentally read the same book.
Prince Dimitri’s reason (or justification by the original author) for acting the way he is is due to his mother’s death. As a child, he lived the first eight years of his life as a commoner with his mother, a noblewoman. He was the king of Kolt’s son, and his mother wanted to raise him away from the palace life.
He asked where is dad was, and why he wasn’t with them. While searching for his dad, he accidentally revealed to someone in his village information about his noble mother’s whereabouts and they told the king. This lead to the king tracking them down and forcibly making his mother come back to the palace with him.
In most scenarios like this is Otome Isekai stories, the mother is able to repair her relationship with the king as he will be a good father to his son and she doesn’t have a choice either way (so, yeah, kidnapping and gaslighting). But this story took a deadly turn, as the king threatened to execute her for hiding an heir from him (he thought he was infertile and never took a wife).
He applied so much pressure on her that she broke psychologically. She took her own life. Dimitri felt immense guilt and felt that his want for a father lead to his mother’s death.
As a result of his own guilt, the king allowed him to get away with practically anything, even killing people. But Dimitri later kills his father, and there is a coup within the aristocracy that tries to execute the prince, which is how he is almost killed by assassins and meets Clara, or Phoebe depending on the timeline.
Tumblr media
The thing is, Phoebe did have feelings for Dimitri, but she wasn’t sure his feelings for her were real, or that he was even a real person. Even years into the marriage she felt like this. Phoebe doesn’t think that the people around her as as real as her, think as deeply as her, or have true autonomy. She thinks that she lives in a world fully of puppets.
To her, all she did was be in the same place as Clara and say the same things as her. On one hand, it could mean that Prince Dimitri is his own person who chooses to be with someone different this timeline. But on the other hand, because she did what Clara did, it also means that he could swayed not by the individual actions person who saves him, but falls in love due to someone fulfilling a role and might as well just be a piece of code going through the motions.
To Phoebe, Prince Dimtri, unlike her father, was faithful and that was good enough for her. She wanted an attack dog that could protect her from her bad ending.
Tumblr media
Nope, she’s a different character.

Here is a FACTUAL update on new Michigan gun regulations, and what you need to know.
The new laws are in three basic categories:
Universal background checks are required for the sale of all firearms
Safe Storage mandatory around minors, penalties for gun owner if minor uses their weapon for a crime, reducing price of safety tools
Creation of Extreme Risk Protection Order process (Red Flag Laws) and penalties for false reporting
A summary and direct links to the Public Acts (PA) and draft bills: https://www.michiganradio.org/tags/michigan-gun-laws
Personally, I think they're pretty sensible, and don't feel like arguing that point. This post is informational.
Universal background checks are required for the sale of all firearms
A background check is already in place for handguns, now it extends to long guns as well. It takes about 45 seconds to fill out the form, longer than it takes for the background check to come back, longer than it takes for you to pull out your Driver's License and check that you've remembered the numbers correctly. For private sales, go check the FBI NICS website, they have an online form (see again, "45 seconds") or a phone line.
As someone who has worked extensively as a substitute teacher, let me just tell y'all... Background checks are no big deal.
Safe Storage mandatory around minors, penalties for gun owner if minor uses their weapon for a crime, reducing price of safety tools.
Now, responsible gun owners already practice safe storage when they live with minors. Here's some details:
People must lock up their firearms in the presence minors, someone under the age of 18.
A person could be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by not more than 93 days in jail, a fine at most $500, or both, if a minor obtains the firearm due to improper storage.
If that minor should hurt another person with that obtained firearm, a person could be guilty of a felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment, an up to $5,000 fine, or both.
Fines would jump to a potential 15 year prison sentence, up to $7,500 in fines, or both, should that minor kill another person with the obtained firearm.
More info here.
Safety equipment is exempt from MI sales tax, and (hat tip) our local Police Department gives away basic safety locks for free!
Tumblr media
Most reputable dealers give you a sturdy case with the sale of a pistol -- it already has a slot for a lock, and just the right size for a re-settable 4-digit combination lock.  Like this one (link):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you don't have a case, there are a couple I recommend. If you want the best waterproof, REI has great prices on Pelican cases, while Harbor Freight has great prices on off-brand Pelican knock-offs (a review). Again, don't forget the combination lock (I like this one).
Tumblr media
Alternatively, the price of fancy small safes has gone wayyyy down, my favorite range offers the VAULTEK LifePod for just over $100 -- it has a numeric key pad, it has a fingerprint sensor, runs off a 9 volt for years, and has a backup key -- and opens super fast.
Tumblr media
Creation of Extreme Risk Protection Order process (Red Flag Laws) and penalties for false reporting
This is similar to the Personal Protection Order process. But what if someone wants to abuse this law? In the 19 states it is already in place, this seldom happens. But, should someone try to weaponize the law, they can be charged with a misdemeanor, 93 days in jail, a $500 fine, or both! They do it again, the penalty is exponential -- up to four years in prison!  In order to be Constitutional, conforming to the requirements of the 5th & 14th Amendment of the Constitution, (see: "due process"), a Court procedure is detailed.  To obtain an extreme risk protection order, a complaint must be filed which show whether the person at issue (the respondent) can “reasonably be expected within the near future to intentionally or unintentionally seriously physically injure himself, herself or another individual by possessing a firearm.” Courts would be required to notify and give respondents a chance to argue against the order. If determined necessary, the respondent is required to either immediately or voluntarily relinquish guns within 24-hours of a judge issuing an order, else Law Enforcement would serve the order. A standard order would last one year, but can be appealed before then. The factors for granting an an extreme protection order would include:
A history of using, attempting or threatening physical force against another person or themselves, regardless of whether it involved a firearm
Evidence of a serious mental illness or emotional disturbance that could make them a danger to themselves or others
Past risk protection orders and any violations
A pretrial release, probation or any other injunctive order as part of their legal history
Any previous convictions, pending charge or juvenile delinquency petitions for assault, threats to a person or property or other state crimes
Any offense involving animal cruelty or abuse
Any evidence of recent “unlawful use of controlled substances” or excessive alcohol use
Any previous unlawful position, use, display or brandishing of a deadly weapon
Any evidence of obtaining or trying to obtain, within the previous 180 days of the filing, a deadly weapon or ammunition
Any additional information a court could find reliable, such as statements from the respondent or concerned family or household members
More on the bill here, and here.
Honestly, my biggest concern is that local police departments will fail to enforce Red Flag laws, as seen here, and here.
Again, I think they're pretty sensible, and don't feel like arguing that point.  I'm more interested in hearing about people's favorite gear.

i definitely got anger problems. my therapist told me as much. i know specifically because of a combination of emotional neglect + disorder-related emotional dysregulation + being raised by a man who could never resolve things in any constructive way, who's first strategy was to lash out and berate us and call us lazy and worthless, who wasn't the main perpetrator of all my issues as a teenager but definitely had a heavy hand in exacerbating them because he'd use me as his emotional punching bag and offer zero support for anything. i'm very aware i have anger problems and because i spend most of my time online, online is where i come across triggers the most. i take steps to mitigate my emotional responses to things by using this blog to vent and complain about whatever i see, but specifically exclude the names of people who make the most god awful posts i have ever seen in my life, and remove access to things that i know frequently piss me off (like deleting twitter off my phone, blacklisting/blocking things and blogs that are even remotely annoying, and preventing myself from frequenting search terms related to characters that i have a lot of emotional baggage tied up to)
where i'm going with this is i try to make sure my anger isn't bottled up and flows outwards rather than inwards so it doesn't keep compressing and potentially lead to something particularly explosive, and i do this by refusing to pick fights with people every time something triggers me and instead complain about them on my blog within the confines of my own tags with their names excluded. i know my behaviour is trauma-related, i know the way i think is a symptom of cptsd, but i try my best to make sure i don't make that anyone else's problem. if i come across as pessimistic or belligerent because of how i post or how i talk i can't really help that because i know the alternative is me actually picking fights and arguing and trying to make other people feel as terrible as i do. i've been told the way i talk and conduct myself doesn't lend to a presence that is approachable and often appears hostile but like. i really can't help that. as prickly as i seem on the surface i wish people could understand that internally it's significantly worse. i think i'm okay at masking as friendly or unbothered irl but i still think a lot of vile shit about a lot of people for the most insignificant things because my brain has a lot of trouble constructing any middleground for anything that happens, which extends to thoughts about myself and family as well.
i didn't have any point to make when i started making this post, it just felt nice to write about why i think the way i do. maybe i should pick up journaling, that'd probably be more constructive than posting a screenshot of some stupid post and specifying why it's stupid to me in particular

Ah, I have heard of this YouTube. Yet, the notion of a "Wikipedia" hath not graced mine ears until now. It doth seem it shall be of great aid in acquainting myself with a millennium of modernity. I extend my gratitude for thy counsel. Though the company I consort with be delightful, perchance it is not the most conducive to mine learning needs.
It is an incredibly useful website. Many libraries now have online databases as well from which one may access or reserve literature so that a ghoul may pick it up for oneself during their opening hours as well! If that were to aid you in your acquaintment with the modern nights further it may be useful to know. Of course - it depends much upon the online presence of your local libraries.
Ah, as is much the case with being around ones fellow undead. We do not always provide the most insightful look into adapting to what the youth are getting up to.

Part 2 of 2
Sorry, I had another question related to my previous ask about Jared, but I want to know what you think Jensen can do to increase his visibility with buyers, because right now, all I’m seeing are events designed to increase his visibility with the fans. And sure, they also put money in his bank account, but probably not as much, or as consistently as a steady job in the industry could.
That's easy:
Get a strong, brilliant acting coach and refine his performances.
Get a branding consultation and find his brand bullseye and tag line as well as define the types under his brand umbrella.
Reshoot headshots that are in line with those characters and his core essence.
Cut his showreel and character clips in a way that is aligned with his newly defined brand.
Redesign/Realign all the other promotional materials that make up his actor package to match his brand.
Establish a strategy with his team and clear steps on how to target his desired shows/roles/evolutions.
Extend his brand to his social media presence, appearances and any other public thing he will be involved in. He needs to fully step into it in every way, including online comments.
Stay coherent and train continuosly.
Network with buyers for which his particular brand is a bullseye.
Produce high quality content that promotes his skills and talents.
Shift from trying to fake highly masculine traits to embodying elegance and charisma which is what his look is more believable for as opposed to the butch/arrogant look he forcefully tries to push that makes him look absolutely clueless about how casting perceives him.
Believe in himself and invest in opportunities, training, self care, etc, whatever he requires to unlock a deeper level of his talent and presence.
Stop taking on low stakes, low quality roles that dilute his brand and star power.
Take risks! There is no great actor without that person being someone who takes risks bravely and dynamically.
Find ways to serve the people around him instead of feeling entitled to roles, he needs to ask himself what he can bring to the industry rather than coming at it from an what he can get from it perspective. We get our dreams by allowing others to reach theirs.
The short version? Be authentic in a continuos way that will allow his buyers to know, like and trust him.

Sorry in advance: this is a long one!
I'm a veteran roleplayer returning to Argent Dawn for Dragonflight. I rolled my Forsaken there in order to play the at the time brand new exciting expansion The Burning Crusade so this is to say I've been around on the server on and off for a long time and this is the first time I've returned with any kind of optimism purely for the fact that the Rotgarde are not a presence there anymore.
During my RP tenure I was lucky enough to briefly be an officer in a beginner friendly Forsaken RP guild and while the sense of community and the people in the guild were all fantastic if occasionally a little stressful nothing was worse than having to handle the Rotgarde in character or out and it has impacted my ability to this day to both engage in roleplay and engage in an online community without anxiety. My time dealing with the Rotgarde and the fallout of others in the Guild having to deal with them happened a handful if not two handfuls of years ago which leads me to the conclusion that the prevailing factor in all this awfulness is and has always been Perroy. Even back then there was talk of rotgarde members shouting Nazi slogans in RPPVP and Perroy's OOC support of UKIP, there has historically been an awful pattern of shitty bullying behaviour that was especially difficult to deal with when attempting to be diplomatic and level headed in communications when things would ( repeatedly ) kick off between our guild and theirs.
We repeatedly had to handle the ways in which Rotgarde members would unfairly look down on many of our members with obvious scorn and disdain because they were new to roleplay and still feeling out their characters or learning the lore or have English as a second language and this was beyond frustrating- it created barriers to roleplay and discouraged beginner's to come back and it would always put an awful taste in my mouth the way Perroy especially would market himself as god's gift to roleplay and Argent Dawn when he's responsible for driving so, so many away from the server ( talented role players, artists, and DM 's amongst the many I know personally who moved to different servers or made US accounts specifically to avoid Perroy and the toxicity he encouraged, myself included)
It is encouraging to see a shift away from this toxicity in the server on returning ,it makes me hopeful for the future and I think scrolling through this blog you've played a tremendous part in holding people accountable to the damage they've caused, so thank you
If you've read my ramblings, thank you for that as well.
A highly insightful post and one we appreciate, so for that we thank you. It is saddening to hear that you have had to endure the very forefront of disgusting behavior from the Rotgarde first hand and the harm it has done to you. They have been known to be extremely intolerant to anything that they do not directly control (much like the PCU that they in turn spawned).
They truly have been a blight and a rot on the server over the last 8-10 years they have been active, thankfully no more however.
It is kind of you to say that we have had a major part in changing attitudes on Argent Dawn though we would, rather more reservedly we hope, say that our role has been to galvanize the good people already on our server to make the positive change themselves, we are simply the loudspeaker for the community who wishes to use it.
We are glad that you have made a return to us now in Dragonflight however, if you are playing Forsaken now there is a far more positive and constructive atmosphere within the community, a far more openness that was not present before for those wanting to make new Forsaken guilds and communities.
We wish you the best of luck and we extend this to all the other returning or otherwise hesitant players who were bullied, harassed and otherwise belittled by the Rotgarde. Together we can build a better Argent Dawn.

an anti-tinker cape
knows the perfect way to dismantle, break, hack and reduce efficiency towards any kind of technology they make contact with
Now this is a shitbag of a villain waiting to happen....Like, minor but still massively annoying for the amount of bad press they can cause.
This would probably come under a Striker class since it's on contact, but if it was extended to area of effect it would be a Shaker.
I'm imagining someone who has an online presence and fanbase like Uber & Leet, except their whole shtick is basically and "Urban explorer YouTuber" and conspiracy theory/found footage type deal but they break into things like Capes bases and looting shit (Ironically creating more work for another recent ask OC Safeguard). Whilst they're primarily a sneak in/sneak out type of villain they're also really capable in a fight as well, owing to their abilities causing havoc, especially with Protectorate teams who always seem to have a field Tinker and also their own equipment.
They have a collection of PRT weapons which absolutely do work for them because they've overridden the Tinker-made safeties that stopped Taylor from using one on Dragon in canon. Their YouTube channel is them showing off prototype versions of Capes costumes and doing product reviews of things they steal from the gift shop but then they fund a nice lifestyle by selling information on things like rotas, intel on what the PRT knows about criminal activity and upcoming plans and event on the black market.
They don't even look for anything about civilian names, they respect the code.....And also they know that the PRT really want them on a kill list as it is.
They also knew about Cauldron but weren't stupid enough to blad about that on YouTube.
Their costume is one of those that's definitely more practical than "Cape" but with some clear Cyberpunk aesthetic..... I'm thinking one of those full face masks with the led lights so it's basically 8-bit emojis, honestly something like the Crown Tundra costume from Pokemon Sword and Shield but in black and with shoulder patches that show their personal emblem and some of their subscribers logos, definitely has body armour over it and their gloves, boots, belt, mask and backpack are all kitted out with hidden tricks and stolen tech to the point that the anti-tinker is basically a "Tinker Zero" like Saint.
As for a Cape name.....I was tempted to be a petty bitch and name them after one of the apprentices at my place of work in honour of broken machines but how about "Subvert" or "SubvertReviews....Don't forget to like and Subvert"

How Is Online D/S Different Than In Person?
Tumblr media
In D/S relationships, the advent of the internet has brought about significant changes in how individuals engage with and experience this unique world. The contrast between online and in-person D/S dynamics is palpable, and it is essential to understand these differences for those embarking on this journey. Today we will navigate the nuances of both online and in-person D/S interactions to shed light on how they differ and what considerations you should keep in mind.
1. Physical Presence vs. Virtual Connection: The most obvious distinction between online and in-person D/S dynamics is the medium of interaction itself. In in-person scenarios, the physical presence of the dominant and the submissive is central. The exchange of power, control, and sensations occurs in real time, relying on sensory cues and tactile experiences. Online dynamics, on the other hand, rely on virtual platforms, where communication is primarily text-based, and physical presence is often absent. While this may limit some aspects of D/S dynamics, it opens up opportunities for creativity and exploration through words, images, and even video chats.
2. Anonymity vs. Disclosure: Online D/S allows individuals to maintain a higher level of anonymity compared to in-person dynamics. Participants can use pseudonyms and conceal their true identities to varying degrees. This anonymity can foster a sense of safety and freedom for those who are not ready to disclose their real-life personas. In contrast, in-person D/S relationships often require a higher degree of disclosure and trust, as there is no room for anonymity.
3. Physical Boundaries vs. Cyber Boundaries: In in-person D/S dynamics, physical boundaries are clear and must be respected at all times. The physical presence of participants demands a heightened awareness of consent and limits. Online D/S relationships rely on the establishment of cyber boundaries, which may include rules about sharing personal information, defining online personas, and negotiating the extent of control and submission within the virtual space.
4. Time and Space Considerations: Online D/S dynamics often offer greater flexibility in terms of time and location. Participants can engage in their dynamic from the comfort of their own homes, across different time zones, and even during discrete moments in their daily lives. In-person dynamics, on the other hand, require physical proximity and scheduling that may be more challenging to coordinate.
5. Emotional Intimacy vs. Fantasy Exploration: Both online and in-person D/S dynamics can foster deep emotional connections between dominants and submissives. However, online dynamics may place a greater emphasis on verbal communication, written expression, and fantasy exploration, as the physical limitations may necessitate a focus on mental and emotional intimacy.
6. Safety and Precautions: Regardless of whether D/S dynamics occur online or in person, safety should always be a paramount concern. In online dynamics, individuals should exercise caution when sharing personal information and be vigilant about potential online risks. In in-person dynamics, safety concerns extend to physical and emotional well-being, necessitating clear communication, safe words, and always putting one’s health and safety first.
The differences between online and in-person D/S dynamics are significant, yet both offer unique opportunities for exploration, connection, and personal growth. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on individual preferences, circumstances, and comfort levels. Whether you choose to explore D/S dynamics online or in person, communication, trust, and consent remain the cornerstones of any healthy and fulfilling experience in the world of dominance and submission.
Do you have advice/thoughts on how online partnerships differ from in-person?

a long and (later on) personal post about my engagement and future on this site beneath the cut
to start, some observations about my time here:
disco elysium holds the record for the first fandom im truly engaging with. i check the tags, read the 'spinoff' fiction, its fun. one could say our ideological milieus here are themselves a fandom, but in terms of something thats strictly media, this is it. going on 11 years here and thats what broke the streak, its that fucking good.
i regret deleting my sideblog 'information-nexus' back in '15. it was an organized and well-tagged news, theory, "how-to", and resource blog, but it was taking way too much of my time. i was attempting to make a whole ass virtual library on tumblr, which is far too ambitious for one person, especially considering that it would never pay bills. i shouldve opened it up to some friends to co-mod it and dialed back my involvement. oh well
i regret less the deletion of 'film-space' in '14. posts were just the movie poster with a brief summary of the plot and then a quick review. i came up with my own system that reworked the 4 star ratings into how id recommend based on genre preferences. film reviews in print seem to belabor the point and online reviews seem to lean too heavily on arbitrarily defined scoring. the point should be to either encourage or dissuade readers from seeing it, not remind them you're the wittiest person in the room or that you've atomized the medium into an exploded diagram, and i held to that. it forced me to watch movies more critically wrt to both the art form and the politics it portrayed. but i took an extended break from the site and lost momentum. it just seemed... pointless
ive been pretty bad with managing every inbox/ chat ive ever had - except this one, the personal blog. i tell myself "i'll get around to answering that" and thats been a lie most of the time. the vast majority of my time here is spent reading things that cross my dash, so getting a question on a completely different subject seems to exceed my bandwidth. i genuinely enjoy most of my interactions here but im simply not in the correct mindset most days. that said, most of the mail 'left-reminders' has gotten just feels like im being asked to do an undergrads homework.
i havent posted my face in, what, 8 years? which i might change. i mean im already fucked - ive posted some wild shit before [REDACTED] was a meme, and my face is already linked to this blog & backed up somewhere at fort meade. whats another hole in an already sunk ship, yeah?
funnily enough, i originally joined to post my photography & short stories. look how that turned out lmao
why am i posting this? ive been seriously evaluating my continued presence here. for some time ive had a desire to leave, which up to this point has been greatly outweighed by the reasons to stay. there are other platforms that are bigger, faster, algorithmically supercharged to provide every niche interest you allow it to know... but im still not as invested as i am here. tumblr's appeal is equal parts utilitarian and sentimental - no other platform has been this educational, informing, and entertaining. this place really is the internets bleeding edge for both humor and anarchist/ communist discourse. and for more personal reasons, i have greatly valued sharing this little corner of the internet with you all. i have enjoyed sharing each of your interests and discussions, witnessing your personal developments. know that this random guy on the internet is & always has been rooting for you.
ive had some serious rough patches over the last decade, and ive used this site as a grounding rod as much as a resource and social outlet. but my friend group is vast now, im living healthier, and im making positive changes. for the first in a very long time, i am truly feeling better, finally moving beyond 'managing' into 'growing.' and more than anything, i need to grow creatively.
simply put, writing fiction is the calling of my heart. and if im to commit to it, i cannot divide my attention. beyond being my sole committed creative outlet, it helps me manage daily life. writing feels like gardening: in the structure it builds to do it right, the determination it requires to continue when i fail, and the joy it inspires when i create. when an idea settles in and i can piece it together while going about my day, only sitting down to write when i know most of it. the emotion i experience after unwinding something that has rooted itself around my mind is tremendous and complicated - it feels like an exorcism, of sorts. the feverishness that seizes me to get it all down before it slips away, the relief when i know i can finally move on, the pride of creation, and the dreadful anticipation of being read - all of it is a bittersweet cup that i will gladly return to.
i need to make space for that, with whatever little amount of bandwidth i have to work with. i refuse to wake up one day knowing that i have postponed the only thing thats ever meant a damn to me, only to realize ive run out of time. i will not squander whats left.
at some point, i know i need to put this behind me. this, and several other self-imposed obligations, must greatly diminish or disappear entirely. it might be in a few weeks or a year, but it has to happen. i might keep this one up, sporadically popping in for occasional exchanges, and pass off the sideblogs to someone else. i've already scrubbed the archive. or maybe i'll just delete entirely; perhaps virtual presences are best if they resembled a sand mandala, something designed to be swept away to make space for something - or someone - new.
i had to write this down, get this all out, if only for myself. i cannot begin to estimate the amount of time ive spent here, so it had to be said for my own reconciliation of that time... and to keep myself to it.
when im ready to leave, i'll let you all know.

"It's So Cold in the D" turns 15 — the truth behind the accidental Detroit anthem we can't stop singing
By WWJ Newsroom
January 20, 20234:56 pm
DETROIT (WWJ) -- When it comes to Detroit artists who have made an impact on music and culture, there are truly too many to name.
But there’s one local rapper that Metro Detroiters quote regularly — especially during the winter months — who has never really gotten her due.
We’re talking about T-Baby, who had a massive viral hit 15 years ago this month with her now-iconic song, “It’s So Cold in the D.”
And if you tell us you didn’t just sing the hook as you read that — we don’t believe you.
The unbelievably catchy and quotable song was originally penned as a tribute to T-Baby’s late friend Mason Graham, who was fatally shot while trying to break up a fight at Universal Coney Island on Detroit’s east side in 2006.
The music video, was made with a shoe-string budget of just $300, hit YouTube in January of 2008, and went on to rack up an impressive 11 million views.
NOTE: VIDEO CONTAINS PROFANITY
youtube
In the years that followed, variations of the “It’s So Cold in the D” catchphrase have been included in tracks such as Eminem’s “Detroit vs. Everybody” and Big Sean’s “Story by Snoop Lion,” and the song has been performed in-concert by the likes of New Kids on the Block and Usher during tour stops in Detroit.
"It's So Cold in the D" received new life in 2011 when it was included in an episode of MTV’s “Beavis and Butthead” reboot, and the resurgence later resulted in a 2015 remix of the song (though nothing beats the original.)
NOTE: VIDEO CONTAINS PROFANITY
youtube
But even with all of its popularity, T-Baby says she received so much online hate after releasing the tribute — which she intended to be a commentary on violence in the city — she took an extended hiatus from YouTube and music to avoid the negativity.
Additionally, the rapper and artist, who grew up Latonya Myles on Detroit’s east side, has never really been given much in the way of compensation or credit for her original song.
Most artists who perform or reference it do so without permission, and despite holding a copyright on the “It’s So Cold in the D” phrase, it often appears on t-shirts, mugs and even candles with little to no money going back to T-Baby.
Though she has continued to have a social media presence and create music through the years, T-Baby says she still keeps mainly to herself, and doesn’t put a lot of trust in others.
But regardless of how people feel about the song itself, T-Baby created something that most artists have a difficult time achieving: staying power.
The song is now used on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, meaning a whole new generation is discovering the viral hit.
In another 15 years, you can bet that on a freezing winter day, Detroiters will still be turning to one another and uttering the phrase, “It’s so cold in the D.”
But if we don't start to give T-Baby the credit she deserves right now...well, there's really nothing colder than that.

Fic! Finally! Some more from that au with Mike under house arrest at Kevin’s place.
Sunshine and buttercups this arrangement is not.
~~
While better than prison time, there were still issues that could come with house arrest. Social isolation could be an issue, though in the current situation, to everyone’s at least mild annoyance, it was not. Cabin fever was always a potential issue, especially when combined with the sort of cleithrophobia one may develop after, say, being trapped in a small space for an extended period of time with two other assholes and a kidnapper with complete power over the situation. That was the sort of thing that was solved by making sure an individual got court-mandated therapy and the right to get it in person so one could get out of the house for about an hour and a half every week. Enough time to get therapy and some Starbucks, but not enough time to solve one of the more seemingly minor issues of shopping.
Everyone needed shit, even if it was just a refill on toilet paper, and one couldn’t exactly make an emergency run to Walgreens. This could be mitigated by having somebody else living in the home who can run off and shop, and by the presence of online shopping, which was surely a godsend in these situations. The problem then being that you either need to go to a secondary party every time you need something, or you need to have your own money.
Mike had been a valuable lesson for the team that just because you came from money, doesn’t mean you have it. It would be a few years before he got access to his trusts, and his personal accounts had long run dry. His mom had been more than willing to take the ‘oh, my son has vanished, whatever shall I do’ situation as an excuse to stop sending over his allowance. The Tennysons and Rook had nodded sagely upon learning this, talking about how they wouldn’t want to fund somebody pulling the shit he had either, but he, Kevin, and Cooper had all shared That Look over it. The one where, while the severity differed, you had all been in similar family situations, and knew damn well that wasn’t it. After all, they hadn’t even bothered to bring up to the others, what were even the odds the Plumbers had gotten in touch with his family when he was arrested versus her having found out what had been going on when the shit he’d been pulling at Friedkin came to light.
So, nagging his housemate every time he needed something it was. And when you came into the situation with nothing but the clothes on your back and a bad attitude? That got tiring real quick. Which was certainly one way to get an allowance again. It wasn’t like Kevin couldn’t spare a hundred or so a week to not have to field every damn ‘I want this book’ or ‘run out and grab me a pizza or something, I’m starving’. (He knew the magic word, he’d heard him use it, he just refused to say it to him, the bastard.) The extra expense was well worth that little bit extra peace.
Most of the time.
“Michael,” Kevin called from the kitchen, “why do I give you money?”
“So that I can buy my own make-up and extra meals without having to nag you about it,” came the response from where Mike was curled up on the couch with a book. He gave no indication he’d even noticed the tightness in Kevin’s tone.
“Yes, exactly, So, second question, where’s my fucking forks!?”
“Going to somebody with similarly bad taste, I’m sure.” With a scowl on his face Kevin stormed to the kitchen entry, a fork in hand that had very much not been in the drawer at breakfast.
“There was nothing wrong with my silverware!”
“If you live in a rundown shack in the Appalachians, maybe.” Mike pointedly turned a page. “I’m not living like that, Levin.”
“The fucking gall-”
“Just be glad I don’t have the savings yet to get the bathroom redone.” There was a long silence as Kevin visibly grappled with the desire to plunge the new silver into Mike’s skull.
“Why,” he eventually growled instead, “am I keeping you here.”
“Something something, fuck the Plumbers, something something, basic decency, something something, how dare Gwendolyn try to keep Charmcaster in your apartment.” Kevin heaved a long, heavy sigh through his nose.
“Your money,” he said, “goes to your shit. Leave my crap out of it.” Then turned and stormed back inside. Mike just hummed nonchalantly.
“Mm-hm. The flatware will be here on Friday.”

Love Host - Ch. 4 Preview
SUMMARY: A prequel to my fic, “Good Boy.” Takes place during the final scene of the game and the journey home afterwards. Miles becomes the host and the Walrider intends to consummate their bond. No beta. Read at your own risk.
RATING: T (PREVIEW ONLY for kissing / suggestive themes). The rest of the fic is rated E (for tentacle sex / xenophilia)
PAIRING: Walmiles (WalriderxMiles)
A/N: Miles spends his first night on the run in a trail park. He’s not taking it too well, but at least the Walrider is there to keep him company.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
The entity makes as pitiful, injured sound, sharing in the man's pain, the feeling amplified when it's host attributes it's presence with fear and rejection.
A set of claws extend to wipe the man's tears away, but Miles intercepts it, holding up a forearm defensively to block any further advances.
"Hey, uhh ... m'sorry I am such a mess. This ... this is taking a lot out of me," the man sniffles, inhaling sharply, "All the waterworks are probably grossing you out."
He dries his tears with sleeve of his jacket, trying to avoid looking weak, helpless, frail. He's forcing a smile, a mask of cynicism, trying to act strong and he doesn't even know why. Old habits die hard.
The Walrider is the last person (was it right to call it a person) that he should be hiding from because as much as Miles wants to tie a pretty ribbon around his frayed ego and call it whole, this creature knows his true self both inside and out. It -- they -- are the same being, a caduceus of blood and soul, and Miles needs to trust that all the devotion and loyalty it's put on display for him thus far won't waver due to his depressive episodes, that Murkoff doesn't have a secret switch somewhere that will turn his biogenetic partner against him.
As it has from the very beginning of their unholy union, the Walrider seeks to comfort it's host. Bony hands cup the man's face and Miles doesn't try to resist it's touch this time.
A makeshift tongue licks at the remainder of tears blotching his pale cheeks, lapping up one side, then the other. The Walrider purrs, the specific frequency of vibrations set to help the man to relax, nanites exuding a pleasant aura of heat to quell the incessant shivering invading it's host.
A whorl of nanites card between the button folds of Miles' shirt, caressing his chest, stroking along his abdomen and the patterns with which they do feel more suggestive than ergonomic.
"Trying to warm me up, are you," Miles laughs, arching a lucrative brow. It shouldn't be this easy to cheer him up with a few soliciting touches, but it is.
The man blinks, a lone tear escaping down the right side of his face and he remembers reading some theory online about the significance behind that.
The machine hums in agreement, mewling, it's festering eyes creased into convex crescents as it rests their foreheads together, rubbing against the human's hairline just enough to ruffle his skewed bangs.
"Hey, c'mere," Miles says, tilting his chin up, urging his companion face to become level with his. Their gazes align, pupils shifting as he stares into it's glowing cerulean eyes with unfaltering admiration.
"I want to show you another way that humans kiss. I am going to use my tongue this time, just don't bite me ... please," the last word comes out strained, a cry of mercy.
He suddenly feels like such a teenager, telegraphing his every move and naturally he's just a little embarrassed when he speaks the words aloud, hesitates a fraction, waiting for some sort of signal from the Walrider.
The entity growls in acknowledgment, idle, awaiting it’s host's next move. Miles starts out small, drawing his tongue along the protrusion of mandibles tentatively, licking a wet stripe over the sharp contours. The machine's jaw slackens at this, opening a breadth wider, a chitter causing it to rattle.
Miles prefers to keep his tongue attached so, he slips it back into his mouth until he can gauge the other's reaction, it's body language, which is damn near impossible when it involves an uncategorized phantasm of floating pieces.
The Walrider growls at him, eyes narrowing, goading him to continue with a playful snap of it's mouth.
"Yeah, OK. Let's go again," Miles swallows, licking his lips as he separates the meager distance between them, a drop of fear curling in his gut.
Nervously, he slides his tongue past the jagged rows of teeth, finding the demon's artificial one hidden inside. He gives it a few nudging little licks, convincing it to move, to meld with his own.
The Walrider grips it's host, pulling him closer, taking him deeper. It's glowing tongue curls around his, twice as long and twice as big, overtaking him easily. Miles can taste the pulses of energy flowing through it, the thousands of vibrations as the entity kisses him back with frightening intensity.
Every so often the sharp daggers that pass for it's teeth cut into his tongue, little nicks of minimal consequence as Miles gets carelessly swept away in the thrill of it all, but it's not enough of a hindrance for him to stop. What does cause him to turn his face away and break them apart is his need to breathe.
As Miles attempts to regain his stolen breath, the Walrider’s claws find the collar of his jacket, peeling it down so that it can get closer to the man's neck. It does the same to the reporter's shirt, tugging it away to graze it's teeth along porcelain skin. It lingers over the faded red marks it left on Miles' shoulder, biting down right above the welts to make a duplicate impression of punctured, bloody rings.

Empowering Growth: My Journey with the Cisco MentorMe Program
Have you ever been so inspired that you felt driven to give back? My involvement in Cisco’s MentorMe program was just that — a transformative experience of empowerment and growth that ignited my passion for guiding others toward success. Sadaf and her mentee, Maanya. This program embodies Cisco’s commitment to actively promoting diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) by targeting underrepresented groups, particularly female tertiary students, in Australia and New Zealand. Women remain underrepresented in STEM fields, comprising only a fraction of the workforce, especially in technology-related roles. Recognising this disparity, MentorMe invites and encourages female students to explore educational and career paths in STEM. By providing hands-on exposure to the latest technology and diverse roles within Cisco, the program empowers these students to pursue opportunities in traditionally male-dominated fields. In my two years as a mentor within the MentorMe program, my role extended beyond simply imparting knowledge; it became a platform for building meaningful connection and nurturing potential with my mentees as well as being a cornerstone of my professional development. Throughout the program, we engaged in personalised 1:1 mentoring sessions where we discussed career aspirations, strengths, and areas for development. I facilitated networking opportunities for them within Cisco, connecting them with professionals from diverse backgrounds and roles to broaden their perspectives and build their professional networks. Additionally, I provided guidance on personal branding, helping them develop their online presence and professional image to stand out in the competitive job market. Together, we set SMART goals — Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound — and worked towards achieving them, fostering their confidence and independence in navigating their career paths. Through ongoing support, encouragement, and mentorship, these women built their brands and prepared for success in the professional world. Sadaf and her mentee, Wendi. Reflecting on these experiences, I realize that my mentees’ journeys have become a mirror to my own growth. The deep bonds formed with my Australia and New Zealand team members and witnessing the progress of my mentees throughout the program makes me incredibly proud. Celebrating their milestones, like my first mentee, Maanya’s completion of the program and my second mentee, Wendi’s graduation, reinforces my belief in the power of mentorship to shape futures. Wendi surprised me with flowers, which touched me deeply but highlighted our genuine connection and reminded me that mentorship is not just about professional development but also about the meaningful relationships we create. These connections extend beyond the program’s conclusion, as I am committed to staying in touch with my mentees to continue supporting their growth. They can always rely on me for guidance, support, and help with any questions, and I look forward to witnessing their achievements in the future. Cisco’s ethos of empowerment and inclusivity resonates deeply with me. The opportunity to participate in programs like MentorMe reaffirms my conviction that Cisco is more than just a workplace; it’s a community where individuals are empowered to make a difference. As I continue my journey at Cisco, I am inspired by the shared commitment to innovation and collaboration that defines our culture. From mentorship programs to technological advancements, Cisco offers a platform to contribute to something greater, making it a truly exceptional place to work. See how we’re powering an inclusive future for all. Subscribe to the WeAreCisco Blog. Share: Source link via The Novum Times
