Of course, it's true that Shen Yuan didn't have all the facts and painted Shen Jiu as worse than he was, but the way that YQY reacts to Shen Jiu claiming LBH at the selection is fairly telling as context clues (others feel free to add quotes & refs if they have on hand, i'm writing rn and can't check but may come back later).

i just think nothing is that serious cuz its literally all fictional.. i think its really silly that i got blocked for literally just stating a couple of facts directly from the manga about a fictional character.. i obviously cant ask them but it feels pretty clear to me that they just didnt want to hear people hate on their favorite character but i dont even hate him lmfao!! literally never said i did.. even made a point in my post to say i dont even think the character himself is really EVIL (and even if i did, 1)its still fun to like them because THEY ARENT REAL and 2)whether or not i did like them wouldnt change anything about what i said) but i wont go into that now..

debatable moral greyness aside, liking and analyzing insane characters is just fun and they also arent real so its not like we can "hold them accountable for their actions" or whatever, so its up to the reader to interpret how redeemable, irredeemable, or whatever they are.. that post wasnt even an opinion/hc post, it was just facts (and a bit of my interpretation but mostly of the effects of the canon actions, everything i said that character did was all directly from the text) so if they read it and thought "that character cant be like that because i like them and think that this is all completely irredeemable and i would hate them" then theyre just too deep in their fanon and in denial LOL

ok guys i dont wanna be a hater but im gonna be 100% honest i didnt rlly like the nimona movie 😭 I MEAN IT WAS FUN. it was nice. but i feel like it was missing everything that made me like the original graphic novel and honestly by the last like 30 minutes i was kind of just waiting for it to be over so i could read the book again 😭 NO HATE TO ANYONE WHO RLLY LIKED IT believe me when i say i dont think it is bad or anything. but i feel like just sooooo much was changed that it didnt feel like nimona at all to me. idk how to explain it, im sure once i reread the book i’ll be able to put it into words since the original will be more fresh in my mind. i think it was good but as someone who was literally obsessed w the og graphic novel it was honestly kinda disappointing. but i dont rlly care honestly its still rlly cool it got a movie!! 

but in my mind at least it proves that some things dont need to be made into a movie. ppl act like movies are the best form a piece of media can take and if something gets made into a movie then that’d be the peak form of it. but i honestly think nimona works wayyyyyy better in its original graphic novel form. most of the early stuff is way more slice of life lowkey stuff that lets you get attached to ballister and nimona as characters and get invested in their relationship w each other, BEFORE all the angsty final act stuff happens. also there honestly was just a ton of stuff that felt to me like it worked better in the original, like jousting tournament thing instead of the knighting ceremony, nimona being captured and being forced to turn into her “true” form rather than this new version with it just sort of happening bcuz of Emotions, etc. also the movie suffered from a lot of pacing and tone issues imo but the former i think is just from that lack of the slow buildup of their friendship, and the latter is something that i think just worked better in the book. idk again I’LL BE ABLE TO SAY THIS STUFF MORE CONCRETELY WHEN I ACTUALLY REREAD THE BOOK but i dont remember there being so much jokes and goofy shit DURING serious scenes. like iirc in the original during serious scenes it was SERIOUS. but in the movie theres so many unnecessary unfunny jokes and stuff. idk IDK i probably just had too high expectations idk. anyways

my dream portrayal of jgy is that he's an independant character with his own strengths (not lxc's sweet little child-birthing wifey) that get recognition and appreciation (and that aren't 'being a good mommy/rabid event planner, haha, such a control freak this a-yao'), who deserves and gets love (but isn't just a tiny lovely thing whose only purpose is-- do you get my point already i wonder), who's allowed to be in a bad mood (but isn't defined by those moments, which is very important to me personally), but who isn't a cruel or bad person (and whose attempts at explaining his situation to others are taken seriously, and not as just him trying to Manipulate Others As Usual because, and i might be controversial but idqc, if i'm to call a character a gaslighting manipulator i'd like to see cases of him a/ doing it b/ succesfully c/ often, and no, "well he conned lxc into thinking he's not an evil murderous twink, SOMEHOW" doesn't count)

and my problem is that it's, well, as dreams usually are, rather unattainable

ngl i always find it a red flag when someone’s like viciously aggressive towards astrology bc some people’s response is so out of proportion. it’s fine to dislike it or completely disbelieve it & think it’s a waste of time but literally part of being an adult is learning to coexist with other people’s beliefs. the reason responses to astrology in particular are so telling is because you’d have to reach extremely hard to demonstrate any meaningful harm being perpetrated via so its obvious that your response to a little bit of whimsy is to act like a giant baby

Actually I need to talk about this. I really dislike Chaos Island in Frontiers. I just hate like, the vibe of it. The place has been abandoned for thousands of years, and vegetation made its way there. There should be more! Maybe less so closer to the volcano, but the thing is, volcanic soil is very good for plants!! They should be thriving further away from it!

We could’ve had a more jungle-esque thing, with green patches of forest and brush at the outskirts and some choice places. Perhaps one of those small side islands could’ve been a dense jungle that makes it harder to move!

The plants could be in a vibrant, yellow-tinted green (Like some plants on the island already are), oranges and reds. It would work well with the more bluish and gentle green of Kronos, and the golden sands of Ares. There’d still be dark earth and ash but at least it’d look alive.

AND Sonic would get to reminisce about SA2! Since there was a jungle-covered volcano island as well!
