doing my anatomy study is fucking torturous bc every time i read some shit like “birds dont have a diaphragm” my brains like “hmmmm…… birdperson…..” and then i end up thinking abt him instead of studying

#it is rlly fun tho. thinking deeply abt alien (bird guy) biology all the time #ok typing this bc its fun and counts as revision.#(if i get anything wrong idgaf. this is from memory)#birds only have tiny kinda rigid lungs so they have a bunch of air sacs instead for air to flow into #and no diaphragm! so they use the intercostal muscles to breathe in and out #which r like the muscles around the ribs #but also means if u squeeze them around the middle they cant breathe #birds also have a kinda weird digestive system due to not having teeth etc #but of course bp .. does. but his diet is similar to that of seed eating birds #we dont see him eat i dont think. ?#its possible he has a mixed style of digestive system.. with a stomach like a human and gizzard like a bird #assuming he just swallows seeds whole without chewing lol #hmmm… id say its probably more likely he just has a proventriculus/gizzard combo and maybe like. a larger proventriculus than normal birds #hard to say. we dont rlly know enough abt his diet ig #altho i imagine it to be omnivorous #also smth fun is birds often swallow stones to help digest seeds. now if he chewed it probably wouldnt be necessary. but think abt it. silly #ok take this w a pinchhh of salt. but diet aside the teeth could be used simply for speech.#i vaguely remember learning abt that in language.#also he does Canonically have a cloaca ! wont go into that rn. but hmmm. much to think abt.#basiclaly bp pussy reallllll #kinda.#in the ways that matter !#oooooh what else.#ooooh. yes. birds dont have vocal chords. they have a syrinx for vocalisation #but of coursee bp can talk.#butttt there are birds that can imitate human speech. so its possible bp just uses similar techniques for speech #but it also gives him a far greater control over his voice than most … making him perfect as the lead singer :]#oh and ummm. he veryyyy likely has hollow bones. so even tho hes huge hes deceptively light. use the word date!!! honestly truly. i know it sounds ridiculous but considering she is gay i can imagine she wants to avoid 4 hours of “are we friend hanging or gay hanging out??????” questioning as well, and she’ll probably be appreciative of it being clear.

the basic and tried and true is just like “would you wanna go get drinks sometime? in like a date way, i mean” and if you say it casually and laugh a bit like you know it’s crazy to even have to specify, then it doesn’t feel awkward to tack on to the end imo

and if she waffles a bit and doesn’t say yes right away, you can also follow with “or even in a friend way, if you’d prefer that instead! no pressure either way” and maybe you can have a new gay platonic friend instead!

more good progress today! realized how hard it is to write a conversation between two people who do not speak the other's language! usually whenever i write firefly talking to people its either in her pov (she tends to understand others better than they understand her) or its like, eda, king, or luzmari. eda who is soul-bound to firefly. king who can See Dust and thus lowkey read minds to an extent. and luzmari who is. well she doesnt have any special power shes just lived w firefly for long enough to understand.

needless to say the collector is Not good at owlspeak. they will be one day! but that day is not today.

its always so fun when the characters sort of run away from you. king and the collector weren't going to start fighting until the last chapter--but they certainly disagreed! so now the fight's started sooner, which is good overall, i think--i've still got the big whammy saved up for that last chapter, and they've spent the entire story drifting apart. its a good way to kick off the final third of this fic.

my favorite part of what i wrote today:

“Quite frankly,” King says, and he shrugs them off, “I don’t even think you understand that you’ve doomed the entire Isles.” He recoils, and his head stings as though King clawed him, but there’s no wounds he can see. Still he doesn’t remember how to breathe. The world is blurry at the edges. King’s stardust is so far away and thundering. “I—” Their words catch in their throat. “What did I do?” “You aided Belos!” He looks so much like his dad. With the snarl ‘n the anger ‘n the way he towers over them, ‘n they cower back further, wanna bare their teeth but it’s all blunt so what good would that do? “Without you, Belos’s would’ve never been able to start the coven system! To cut down all the palistrom trees! You talk a whole lot about missing how things were when you’re the reason they aren’t like that anymore!” “He said he would free me!” “Oh,” King snaps, and his eyes cut right to the center of them, piercing, “and you believed him?” “I don’t.” Everything is going fuzzy. They keep blinking to keep how many Kings there are straight. “I was trapped. I didn’t wanna be trapped! I didn’t do anything to be trapped! I just—I just, I was good good good and your stupid dad trapped me! So it’s his fault!” “Somehow,” King says, “I really doubt you did nothing.”

#nanoblogging #chatter #my favorite part about this argument is how neither of them are wrong <3 #the collector did help belos doom the world. without them theres no coven system or draining spell #and belos wouldnt STOP his goal of Killing All Witches but it sure would not have been as effective #(probably woulda still happened tho. the collector gave sigils + draining spell but Palistrom Tree Murder was a belos original)#but!!! the collector was also trapped!! for no reason!! and it fucked him up BAD!#kings dad overreacted and doomed the collector to this awful life where he had no contact w the outside world #and no contact with DUST which is. lets just say. very important to becoming a Person #and with that on top of his siblings who very much do not see mortals as people....#not of course that king and the collector know this lol <3 #the eight year olds are fighting.....#this isnt even the most devastating. im saving that for the end. oh ho ho its BAD #but we gotta get to watching and dreaming somehow!!#sorry the collector is my favorite owl house character okay #just. i love them <3 #and a grove of palistrom to you

instagram is wacky i just saw someone comment that banning ear cropping would just lead to ppl importing dogs instead, or doing it "in their kitchen with scissors and baking soda".. i dont think everyone is as out of their minds as you are dear social media user. also as if several countries didnt already make that change years, if not decades ago in a lot of cases. its literally fine.

#the license plate in the front is the chipmunk teeth #sorry i was thinking about like dolls and like the fear many people have of them #as someone who decided to become a weird doll guy last year i wont judge anyones fear at ALL #like hell. ive also started a collection of evil doll horror movies recently too (im not scared of them but i find them fascinating)#(especially the prop work and practical effects. and they wouldnt exist without people being scared of dolls so i thank u)#(if that makes sense LOL) but yeah like even tho i dont feel any fear of dolls i absolutely wont judge anyone who does #but i was thinking about like. seeing faces in stuff. paradolia? and like. for the most part all humans have that #but some may feel the anthropormophizing much stronger than others #for example: me LOL but i was thinking about that strong anthropromorphizing and i was like maybe thats why i like dolls?#theres already faces on everything whats a few more. BUT THEN i was thinking a little more #it could go the opposite route. if you see faces in everything and then you see a small object thats SUPPOSED to have a face #maybe that might make it scarier. like at least the other faces didnt have inset eyes or anything #two sides of the same coin possibly #but of course theres lots of reasons people are scared of dolls. some people find dolls without faces scarier than ones with #despite loving dolls and not being scared at all of them. i do have a bit of a mannequin thing. they scare me a little #and im not sure which is worse. a faceless one or like those scary old navy ones they had when i was a kid with the big grins #but i think for me the scariest part of a mannequin is actually how static and heavy and unmoving it is #so it might be a little different

#ive never been super into including her in juste and maxims relationship #mostly bc juste repeatedly telling her that nothing happened and it was just a dream when she was *literally kidnapped*#never sat right with me #not that i think juste is a terrible person or anything. hes a character i like. Pet peve of mine is ppl who genuinely call Akechi stupid. Like yes he makes some Real stupid mistakes & yes he faked most of his "solved" cases. But his wit in Sae's palace is real, & also he's like top of his school lol u can't forget that.

One thing I missed abt my old school in hawaii is all the fellow queer neurodivergent kids there. Makes sense, but still after years of having not met like any other kids like me it was so jarring going to school in a pride shirt and just receiving like 20 complements along with ppl actually knowing what asexuals are. Also, being able to talk abt autism in an environment where ppl didn't treat it as a haha funny joke in an ableist way was so refreshing I miss that so bad from an in person environment

#rat rambles #like it was still school and still came with a lot of typical school problems but it was definitely the best school I had ever gone too #I also almost accidentally named the school while typing this post lol #although I guess it wouldnt matter too much since I dont live in hawaii anymore and its not like I have a huge rabit fan base or anything #but yeah it was a mixed online offline school which I still struggled with but hey at least I could barely pass classes #shout out to the lesbian in my math and history classes that I befriended and radicalised over the course of the school year #also shout out to the ace kid in my english class who I initially wasnt able to sit at the same table as despite wanting to but got to for #a group thing and the next in person day when I walked in the beckoned me to sit with them and that became my new spot #that being said I am glad I left since my ex best friend went there too and was friends with like all my old friends and I think them too #not the ample place for recovery #but yeah more than anything Id kill to get to talk to more aro ppl in general. I have so many thoughts on aro stuff but currently I feel #weird like casually posting abt it so idk :/
