i feel like I haven't seen enough people mention the fact that Halsin canonically smokes, specifically exotic tobacco, and specifically out of a nice, old pipe that looks (to me) like it might be briar wood.
i just think there is something so inexplicably warm about that, that he enjoys such a small, but extravagant little luxury.
like the only thing I can imagine him smoking is something that envelops him in that woodsy-spicy, pleasantly scratching scent of good quality tobacco for the rest of the day, and the only way I can see him doing it is settled back in a nice chair, with his feet propped up, a good book in his hand, and some fuzzy critter curled up in his lap.

thinking about how the greens are so conquerors-coded. obviously aegon ii has those parallels to aegon i, a terrible legacy and expectation of fire and blood, but helaena also has parallels with rhaenys as a queen who’s considered a softer counterpart to her husband and beloved by the smallfolk.
then there’s aemond. possibly the most visenya-coded targ since the woman herself. he has her dragon, her penchant for war crimes, her commitment to her duty, potentially also her black magic depending on what the truth of his relationship with alys is — but i think the way he’s most like visenya is in his relationship with his siblings, especially aegon. he really is aegon’s visenya — his sullen, sometimes disagreeable protector. his sword will always fall on aegon’s side. he saves him at rook’s rest, rules the country in his stead and doesn’t try to take it, eventually dies trying to secure his crown. say what you will about aegon and aemond’s relationship, i think at the heart of it he has visenya-like devotion and duty.

saying this at an extremely random time because i truly don’t mean it in the direction of anyone or any message in particular, but if we could maybe in general just keep in mind that i am not actually an Authority on anything i talk about. ur compliments are very lovely and i appreciate them sm, and i know i do make posts kind of intentionally in a way where they’re supposed to make people laugh and get attention and thus a follower count or whatever, but just, i have had a bad experience or two with it feeling a bit out of my control and people getting... over-excited? and putting me on a pedestal or something which stops being fun pretty fast and can be uncomfortable both for me and for others in the same fandom space. ideally i’d like to have the really wonderful level of interaction i do have here while a) being responsible with it and b) having my own boundaries. i would love us all to keep in mind that i am just another random guy on the internet who, particularly if we’re not mutuals, you don’t know and who doesn’t know you. and, perhaps a separate point, that i’m a random white guy on the internet and i get things wrong, which is one of many reasons you should not be listening to me to the exclusion of all else, and, for example, over the voices of fans of colour. the last thing i ever ever want, in that situation or any other, is for it to be intimidating to question/discuss/criticise something i’ve said. i think if we remember all that, we can be chill and have a chill time? that’s all i want to do instead of sounding like i’m issuing press releases which i kind of do right nowww okay bye i’m going back 2 sleep 💤💤💤

The lyrics to Saint Motel's "Honest Feedback" are so...Raf coded lmao it's so cynically petty 'for laughs' jljfshgd:
"Of all the illegal ways to take someone's life, there's one just as sharp and it's sharp as a knife.
It's called honest feedback."
"So many people got their neck in the noose.
They'd rather jump off than hear gossip from you."
"How do I look? Am I driving too fast? Of all of your old lovers, am I the best? It's just honest feedback,
Watch your honest feedback."

Reading Guards! Guards!: oh ahah funny fantasy book. Look at all those tropes being parodied! I’m having a good time
Reading Night Watch: my brain is getting rearranged in my skull. This is the most profoundly thoughtful and emotional fantasy book I’ve ever read and it will henceforth impact every book I write starting now

do you think falin went on dates/potentially even hooked up with people periodically during those 4 years she and marcille were separated? i know you ascribe to has-been-pining-since-childhood falin (and tbh so do i), but i find it interesting that there were at least Two people interested in falin if we are to believe chilchuck's party relations chart. at the very least, she considered toshiro's proposal -- even if her intentions for doing so were rooted less in mutual interest and more in her fear of being alone -- and it makes me wonder if anyone else were to like... show interest in falin, what would the circumstances have to be for her to be an active participant/if she would've reciprocated if it was casual enough (because i can't see her getting into a serious relationship with anyone while she's still in love with marcille -- unless?)
i could see it going either way. girl who can't believe people could actually LIKE her that way because she struggles with liking herself (despite probably being the most beloved character in canon, though her ostracization in her hometown and the magic academy could explain why...... wait hold on i'M GETTING SIDETRACKED!!) vs. girl's first time being freed from an authority's expectations going a little wild at, well, a taste of freedom (plus a dose of delayed sexual awakening due to prior ostracization + "don't think of marcille like that don't think of marcille like that doN'T. DO NOT." double whammy)
idk idk idk! i find it SO interesting that she's so beloved in canon but is simultaneously very passive about it? i really love how a little creature explores what a more proactive falin could look like, and i'm super curious about your thoughts on what falin's love life would look like/if a love life would even exist decoupled from her newfound dragon instincts and marcille
honestly this is the one aspect im never sure about bc... i've seen other people establish that falin's gone and kissed or gotten involved with some of the other girls at the academy, or other adventurers. and i respect that! mostly bc it's a way of painting falin as more independent and mature than the canon material, and i can't knock that.
but i guess? idk. she was as clueless about shuro's feelings as laios was until he actually proposed to her. she also believed that she wouldn't get another proposal, so there's an element of her not realizing that she's particularly attractive. that, or she's... still somehow working by her hometown logic, which im assuming is the old "if you're not married by your teenage years you're considered a really bad marriage candidate for men" type thing, considering how much of a small town it was/the fact that she and laios already had marriages arranged from a young age.
an intensely auDHD woman, who has spent all of her independent life focusing on at least one person she was inseparably close to, not having had any romantic experience at the age of 23? that's very likely. personally i'd consider it more likely than the alternatives, but that's just my opinion lol
