Monster fucking would work for me because I'm crazy. Let my body crumble and break, I'll think about it later. That's it.

I thought wed established that Doctor Who isn’t a sci-fi show. The critics about character dévelopement are valid I will give that, but I don’t agree when we start speaking about hard logic and the genre rules of sci-fi series.
Doctor Who is not Star Trek, it’s an adventure sitcom set in outer space.
I mean we all have different approaches and expectations when watching a show. But I promise, watching Doctor Who like it’s not a silly fun timey Wimey series will always lead to disappointment and plot holes.

This isn’t a take about the discourse but more a take on the takes and that is: the fuckass director of that Miss Americana documentary pivoted the focus of the documentary to be political on her own, based on what she observed. Taylor said in interviews she didn’t know what the outcome was going to be. We know it was originally supposed to be a documentary about the fans, and that switch, made exclusively by that director without Taylor’s input, actually turned out to, in the long game, be the worst decision for Taylor’s career anyone has ever made.

i’ve been thinking about the relationship between the eye and the lonely so i’m gonna rant about it and you’re going to read it
i’ve been relistening to tma, and one thing that’s been bothering me is the fact that the lukas family funds the institute. it doesn’t make sense. the eye and the lonely are hugely opposing forces. the eye is the fear of being Known, of being watched at all times, the feeling that you are never alone. the lonely is the fear of being completely alone, that there is nobody there to see you or to Know you. the lonely itself also manifests in a similar manner to the dark, where it preys on the fear of the unknown (as can be seen through the heavy fog inside the lonely). meanwhile, though the eye is also related to the fear of the unknown, it manifests differently, because it doesn’t try to hide the unknown from its victims, rather it encourages them to uncover the unknown and seek out that knowledge at the cost of their own safety. so why would the lukas family want to fund an institute dedicated to serving an entity that is fundamentally opposed to theirs in every way possible?
however, with these lines in mag 92, it starts to make more sense
elias believes that companionship cannot truly coexist with the eye. after all, it makes sense, the eye is all about watching and observing, but it is also about inactivity. you watch people, but you do not interfere with them. you can observe your friends, learn things about them, but you do not form deep connections with them. people are simply a vessel to obtain knowledge, and friendship is meaningless unless it contributes to that pursuit. so in this way, the institute seems to have some attachment to the lonely, as it isolates its employees from the rest of the world and even from each other. and it only makes sense that the lukas family would want to contribute to that loneliness.
less serious, but this also made me think about lonelyeyes. based on elias’s personal philosophy about companionship, it’s really so fitting that the one man he would choose to connect with is an avatar of the lonely. both of them outright reject the idea of deep interpersonal relationships, so of course they’d be perfect for each other (and of course that’s why they constantly get divorced)

Finally, a new Spidersona!
Name: Cassidy “Cass” Carver, Spider-Man, X-Spider (she/her)
A Spider-Man from a universe where Spider-Man is a mutant rather than being bit! as part of the X-Men, Cass doesn’t do much solo work, and when the spider-verse comes knocking she prefers to continue sporting the X-Men yellow and blue. More about her under the cut!
Despite being a mutant, much of Cass’ life still follows the classic Spider-Man canon, including her own versions of Gwen Stacy and Flash Thompson. Cass and Gwen dated briefly, but when Cass found out she was a mutant, she joined the xmen under the cover of ‘going to a fancy boarding school’ at Xavier’s. Little does she know, Gwen is also a mutant who’s now going through all the same changes and fears on her own. Eventually, the two face off, ending in Gwen’s death.
Cass loves being part of the X-Men, opting to wear a mask for most of her early time on the team. After Gwen’s death, her parents find out she’s a mutant and disown her, and she no longer needs to wear a mask but still prefers to a lot of the time.
Friends amongst the X-Men include Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, and Wolverine, though she also spends a lot of time with Kitty and Ice-Man since she’s closer to their age.
She doesn’t get along as well with Cyclops (problems with authority), Colossus, and Storm. She was beginning to get close to Storm, but Kitty got jealous and Cass backed off to preserve her friendship with Kitty. She thinks Colossus is stiff but will tolerate him bcuz of Kitty.
In Spider-society, Cass connected most heavily with Gwen, but gets along pretty well with everyone. Miguel is neutral-positive on her since she has experience working with a team, though her authority issues shine through in their relationship once again.
She very briefly joined Magneto’s side for a bit, but went back to the xmen shortly after. She still harbors some sympathy and agrees with some of their methods, but missed her specific found family and felt a lot of guilt for ‘betraying them’, as Xavier put it.
I’m definitely going to be drawing more of her soon!

BACK. From the festival I had so much fun(and spent a lot more money than I should have)🥰🥰
but now I gotta lock in and do this fic bc I told myself I would have it done(ish, not including proofreading-) yesterday but Natlan STOLE the braincell. Lesson learned, I probably shouldn’t game and create stuff at the same time unless I’m certain the storyline will not be interesting🫠

So on the Saint of Steel series, I just read that…
Apparently the third book revolves around Galen and…Piper?!
I don’t know whether I’m intrigued or horrified in a funny way.
