3. When I saw the title Dawn of Justice, I was really worried about Bobby Dawn's rise to power, but it was Fig! Being epic as usual. Probably not what they were doing, but in my mind, I like the use of my assumption that Dawn meant Bobby/Helio, and they turned it into Rebellion/Ankarna. Feels right.

4. It is going so well for my guys. I know that this expulsion/Last Stand thing was a piece of BS, but I have every confidence in them being able to come out on top.

5. I NEEED to get better at my art. I want to do Ankarna better, and a matching Cassandra, and now I want to draw Gorgug in his full battle harness gear.

i've realized this cleaning/organizing bug is definitely hypomania, but it's doing really lovely things for me & i'm super emotionally stable, so i will be continuing to indulge it for as long as i can.

Your tags on that walking with dinosaurs post, about being able to forgive it's faults after seeing prehistoric planet. Was there a lot of faults with that show, too?

At the time a lot of people - academic and layfolk alike - complained that the Walking With series presented hunches and conjecture as though they were fact, and said things matter-of-factly without justifying them. Then wouldn’t you know it, Prehistoric Planet does the same thing to universal acclaim! (not talking about blatant inaccuracy like a giant Liopleurodon, that’s unforgivable, but behavioral details and fleshy reconstructions)

I know it breaks immersion and all that but I’d like there to be, y’know, some kind of justification for why they chose to show animals doing this or made them look like this.

Then again admitting that dinosaur media is mostly guesses and speculation is not the best look…

ok 2 theories on why they didnt play vamp $

1. gerard likes skipping songs w relevant lyrics i.e. no heaven help us during tears of blood look, no mastas during the cat look. its a little tease they do to keep it sexy and fun (however they did play vampires tonight so....hm)

2. tonight was a reclaimation of vampire imagery as something symbolizing mcr, while vampire money was mcr rejecting vampires from their imagery as something that defines them and their aesthetic, turning vampires into a form of capital. not playing vamp $ was a rejection of that rejection, and a return to the classical gothic ( and gay and kinky and countercultural) vampire that truly spoke to and defined my chemical romance as a character and symbol. bela lugosi's dead but at least we got gerard

anyways its pretty good. ive finished act three and the first intermission with the midnight crew (which ill be honest. didnt care a ton for. i know that theres some plot significance to it because i recognise the names Snowman and Lord English so i didnt skip it but it took the wind out of my homestuck sails HARD) and uh. good comic. big fan of jade (which does not surprise me in the slightest) and relate a little too much to rose (which DOES surprise me quite a lot, i wasnt expecting to like her a ton), but all four of the kids are supremely well-written thus far.
