the great mischaracterization of jumin han (2019) does need to be studied deeply and passionately because people got SO into that one bad ending and made it his entire personality to the point where it got its own after story and everything (only further affirming it as like . a Core aspect of his character and not just . you know. a Bad End that you only get by teaching him that love = possession LMAO)….

one big misconception of majima in the fandom is that he constantly molds himself into what the people wants him to be, but it’s quite the opposite. no one pretends or even asks him to do it, he does all of it alone. majima alone decides to mold himself in what he thinks the other need, without ever confronting the other side, not the other way around

majima isn’t passively accepting what other people want to do with him, he’s actively doing this to himself. he’s not some sort of victim in this, it’s all his doing

Last weekend on the Exalted campaign! We're attending the politically-motivated betrothal of the childhood bestie ("childhood bestie") of one of the PC's in the betrothed's province. The betrothed is from a family renowned for their SORCERY and their DECADENCE and as such we (my character) were really looking forward to it! (Simandor. The dude's a Simandor)

Immediately we tripped in FAMILY SECRETS. We were welcomed by a guy who said he was the betrothed but who turned out to be someone the betrothed called "his cousin" "playing a prank". Then it turned out no-one in the palace knew anything about the cousin and he wasn't on the official genealogy tree.

- the secret cousin is a black-haired red-eyed hot sorcerer and thus my not!WWX is immediately threatened. who is that dude. why did he steal not!WWX's charadesign. why is there a mystery about him that my character isn't privy to.

- my not!WWX investigated why someone else's family secrets, and instead of telling the other PCs his theories, used his not!JC to sound out his hypotheses

- to immediate "it's not out business and we shouldn't get involved! It would cause trouble and it's not our business!!" from not!JC. ("You always think it's not our business." "Because it's never our business!" "Pfeh pfeh *dismissive hand gesture*")

- not!WWX used his spell to erase someone's memory for the very first time! on the betrothed after trying to trip him up about the family secret to confirm an hypothesis, so he wouldn't remember being asked.

- it's a Simandor betrothal (there's also a very important marriage, but not with someone close to the PCs) so it's PRETTY DECADENT. My not!WWX is trying be blasé and confident about everything but actually he's really not. It's a lot! Not!JC is here!

- not!WWX had sent a letter to not!JC's sister arguing that not!JC totally shouldn't be betrothed so young, and now he got a very nice answer! Telling him that she wasn't in charge of her brother's matrimonial decision, their matriarch (who is Mnemon, everything is awful, Arkis has to save his bestie from a life of boredom and boredom, fuck Mnemon) is. And if Arkis wants to make an offer it would be more proper if the offer came from Arkis' tutor.

Which was a lot.

Arkis promptly decided that the Thing with this letter was that it assumed Arkis would marry into the Mnemon house, not ask that Sennet marry out, and that's inacceptable.

And then he shoved it momentarily out of his mind but there's a challenge here, and he's for sure not confronting anything such as "feelings".

- there was a maskerade to welcome the guests and guess who picked an edgy costume on purpose and chose to dress up as a Solar Anathema, that's right, Arkis did. Things that if Dragon-blooded Facebook existed would definitely come back to bite him in the ass ten years from now when he's starting to have a serious politics career.

hiii! i just wanted to reach out n let you know that i just spent the last few days speed reading all your ao3 work bc i literally couldn't put it down. the way you write dick really just scratches my brain in the best way possible. he's a little (read: very) neurotic and it just. his motivations are so clear in your work, not in the sense that there isn't tension and anxiety but in that his core personality, his drive to help and the anger and trauma that has built him, his need to always be performing and catering to those around him, it comes across sososososos SO well. he was the first character that got me into comics and since then i've kinda stopped reading him bc i have lots of issues w tom taylors run (not the point so i digress) but you have really inspired me to go back and read more of his old stuff so thank you! you have such a clear grasp on his character and its something i admire very much! ur very very talented! and i really appreciate you sharing ur art! hope ur doin well :)
