This is going to be more me getting my thoughts out than coming for anyone.

But I'm def arguing some of the arguments I've seen over the last couple weeks.

And for the record I love both boys however I'm probably considered more of a Dean stan. (Reallly I love all three. But this is going to be more feud focused.)

That being said... I just don't see why Seth's majority being painted as the one in wrong or straight up deserving of this treatment. At least on Tumblr. The crowds seem different. But on here there are a couple things driving me absolutely u p the f r e a k i n ' wall, lads.

One is seeing things like, and I'm paraphrasing, "well Seth (and Roman) haven't purposely done things to make Dean feel down or lesser than. But that's how he feels and what led him to this point". Like that makes what he did or has been doing ok or justified. I really don't think it does. Because what could they have done to make Dean not feel that way? Not be proud of their titles? They fought hard for them. And if Dean really didn't want to help Seth get his fairly at SummerSlam he really didn't have too. Talk to him? He wouldn't give them much when they tried beside loosely veiled threats, acting fine, and/or walking away. So they're just left like, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "what do we do? What CAN we do"? At the end of the day it's his deal. He has to deal with it ya know?

And listen I understand how it's easy for some people to get stuck in their heads. I understand because I'm like that. And I can 100% say that shit like the silent treatment, stewing, the hot and cold game, and saying shit was fine all the while were definitely factors in my one and only really good friendship ending. Not the only factors, mind. But for sure the way I chose to handle some things (My feelings. My anger. ...And insecurities.) did not help. (Coincidentally that relationship got toxic. Maybe even on both end. So walking away was ultimately the healthiest thing to do. ...Which has me side eyeing these two boys. Ma heart. T_T)

So like I totally get it. I really do. ...But I just can't justify it. Ya gotta find a way to deal with your shit 'cause it's not really anyone else's responsibility. Not your friends or love interests. It just isn't. (Unless you have already agreed apon that type of dynamic. i.e. top and brat, Etc) (And. AND. Can I just say that Dean has a crazy skillful way with words and is articulate like a motherfucker yet "Baby Boy can't communicate". I- I just needed that pointed out.)

The second thing that's got me s e e t h i n g is what seems like a total refusal to see why or how Seth might be feeling the way he does. Broham just got some terribly terribly awful news. And at a time where they both could really benefit from having each other at their sides... Dean. Out of nowhere. Slams his head into the mat. ...And then again. Methodically. Deliberately. Into concrete. Seth doesn't know why. We don't know why. Not really. We think we do but they're just assumptions. Dean hasn't s a i d.

Is it that farfetched to understand how Seth might be angry at this point? Or even why he may assum Dean's actions were selfish? He doesn't have much to go on. Personally I don't believe Dean would turn on Roman. (I mean I would like to believe he wouldn't on Seth either. But also, in WWE, nothing is sacred. Not truly.) And I think we can all agree this Dean is different. So... maybe? Maybe he would do such a thing. (He did pointedly take off and throw his Shield shirt, walk back up the stairs, and show up there the next time. All stuff alluding to the shield as a whole so????) And I believe Seth is feeling that too. Because it was on THAT night and he doesn't know who this Dean is and is FREAKING THE FUCK OUT.

The third thing I have thoughts about is some of the reasons for the turn being thrown around. Like Seth had it coming? Why? For what? For what, when they already hashed Seth's turn out. He took his licks for the heinous things he did. There was an ark about it and everything. And more importantly Dean forgave him in the end. He didn't have to. And he would have been well within his rights to not, but he did.

So for me it would feel very fucked up if he's been harboring these feelings towards Seth when he didn't have to go back to partnering with him in the first place. That's blatantly leading someone on. And more over, him needlessly putting himself in what he would presume is a dangerous situation. And to me It still doesn't make since to say these feelings came about while Dean was out. Because why? Because life went on and Seth got himself some titles? That's the sport. Dean would have done the same. (I mean they both got titles THE NIGHT Roman had to leave.) Because he teamed with JJ? He didn't even want to. And when Jason got too big for his britches he straight up told him he would never be like Ambrose. Pretty vehemently, too. So like? If that is it then it goes back to Dean just having to deal with his feelings and why he's feeling like that. Because it's hard for me to say it's anything Seth or Romans did.

Now this next thing is the thing I think I'm the most intrigued by. (And is really just me marking the fuck out.) Whatever the FUCK Seth supposedly said to Dean that night that set him off. Because honesttly A LOT of theories hinge on whatever it was. Depending on what it was Seth should not have been so surprised. If it were that bad Seth could totally be playing it up right now. But then if it WERE that bad Dean could have just said this Monday. But THEN that could be why it look like Seth interrupted him. It's so open-ended! Ah!

I'm just so very intrigued by this seemingly big piece of the puzzle we're missing. So very. There was apprehension before Dean went totally ham. So he's conflicted by something pretty heavily. Perhaps because it was THAT night. And he DIDN'T want to lose it then. But Dean screaming things like "why'd you say that", "you think it's funny", "it's not a joke", and "watch your mouth" make me think Seth called him Lunatic again. Which makes it kinda like... Seth... why would you D O that???? But also it still feels like an overreaction on Dean's part? Like beat his ass a little, a little bit down the road ya know? Not THEN, that much, over THAT. Though I know he's fed up with that shit.

But THEN there's weird stuff being yelled too. Like "this all you care about", talking about the titles. Seth doesn't care about titles anymore or less than Dean or Roman do. He learned what was more important to him month's ago. And it was his boys. The "You told me it can't happen"???? What could that even mean? I have no clue. But I want to know so so bad.

Tl;DR: I love all these boys but Dean's being a lil asshole for s e e m i n g l y not much reason. S e e m i n g l y. And Seth could use a little bit more understanding.

Con Adventures!

--- Day One ---

The first day of con was pretty neat, and the very first thing we did was make our way to the dealers room so we could get to Cheritz's merch booth asap! The line to the room was kind of crazy, and I had never really been made to wait in such a long line for the dealers room before, but it was worth it finally getting to the booth!

(One side of it, I never managed to get a picture of the other side ;×; )

Thankfully the line wasn't too big, and everyone was very kind! I ended up spending....a lot.... but a fun thing the booth did was give you these bags if you bought something! The front and back looked like this:

While in line, I got to meet Mantamints, Mod Zen from Doodlemessenger, and Saeranuu! They were all such sweethearts and so nice, and Saeranuu even gave me a postcard!

So cute!! I was with Crystalsoul16 and Byebi during the con, and so Byebi was where I got the adorable Seven sticker from!

Pretty soon after saying hi and so on, we wondered around the dealers room until it was about time for the autographs to start, and we sat in the pre-line for a while and messed around on our phones while fawning over our bags.

I ran into the V and Yoosung cosplayer then, and got a picture, but right before then the Yoosung had asked if we wanted them to punch V before the picture and I ended up going "nOOOOO!" while laughing a lot. They were funny and kind!

For the autographs line it was really nerve inducing! I've only managed autographs from bands I've enjoyed before, but this had me so nervous, aaa orz Everyone has fun stories, but all I ended up doing was saying "Thank you" 2937947 times like a broken record, because I was too scared to say much else and didn't want to bother them.

They weren't mean, of course, and were incredibly sweet, but....ya know....anxiety. I ended up wearing my RFA badge to get the paper, and I'm so happy I was able the paper! I didn't......really.....bring....anything to sign....outside of that KSHSKDK i was a dumbass.

V's voice actor ended up asking for clarification on how to say my name, but since it's a little difficult he ended up pronouncing it wrong, and....without thinking...i corrected him, and I really regret doing that because he apologized a bit and I had to sit there feeling like a jerk o|-< People get my name wrong all the time at work so I'm used to rolling with it, so I have no idea what possessed me to correct him.

The autograph paper was great because they ended up having the VAs that couldn't come presign it! I'm so happy to be able to get all of them, but I'm also incredibly happy Sujin Ri was able to sign it was well! She looked so happy being asked to sign it!

After that, it was more wandering around the con, and I managed to run into Crystalstellar!! She gave me skeleton washi tape rolls ;v; She remembered I love skellies....

I closed my first day with this beauty:

I know its not MM related, but a quick note- People who can play this machine on extreme and get over 90% completion are insane and terrifying, but amazing to watch! Me and another guy were in line for the machines watching two dudes absolutely ROCK and we ended up talking about how awesome they were at it!

--- Day Two ---

I know everyone wants me to get to the panel stuff asap, probably, but for a little while I didn't even think we were going to make it to the panel! Crystal, Bibi, and I left the hotel early enough to try and get a good spot in line for the panel, but ended up getting stuck in a line for bag checks that wrapped around to the back of the first building.

I'm very, very, very, v e r y, thankful they did bag checks- incredibly thankful, but we waited in line for a while in super hot weather, with folks in full body costumes and such around us, only for them to...barely even check my bag????? The first day I had a small purse, and the woman checked the pockets fast and efficiently, and sent me on my way, but the second day I had a backpack on and the dude completely ignored two pockets?

I even pointed it out to them because they were big enough to like, put dangerous shit in if someone wanted to, and he told me to go ahead anyway? Like....if you're going to have a bag check line so big and make a big deal out of it, why the fuck aren't you actually checking the bags???

Jesus christ. I'm thankful no one wanted to do anything dangerous at the con.

Anyway, we ended up making it to the panel line in good enough time to get good seats, and eventually got in!

Before talking about the panel, I do want to link This Post where Mod Zen from Doodlemessenger recorded the panel from their spot! As of right now the official panel video isn't out, so this is nice for those of you who couldn't come! (Be sure to thank Mod Zen!!)

I don’t know what all to say about the panel, to be honest, especially after linking a video about it, but the person who set up the sound/video and was introducing the game was so funny and sweet. He seemed very nervous, but I felt like he helped give a calm air to the room, you know? He wasn’t afraid to joke around a little and he explained how surprised they were that so many people showed up.

I wasn’t really expecting them to play the opening video, but hearing everyone sing along made me happy ahhh ;;;; I get stupidly emotional over stuff like that ;w; And people actually cheered for Jaehee and Yoosung!!! I was so happy at that too!! I hope Cheritz can see that lots of people love them as well aaaaaa

I did like how they had the VA’s come out to reinact a few key VNS, and I was pretty surprised they had Ray’s VA do That VN, but it was so nice seeing and hearing all of them live, aaa.....aaaaa

I think my favorite parts of the panels were Sujin Ri explaining her thought process with the characters, and then the Va’s talking about how they felt towards their character/others. It was interesting hearing it all, and honestly Sujin Ri talking about how Seven came to be killed me o|-< I just really wanted to give her a hug after that.

However, when she was talking about Jumin, and confirming he went through something traumatic with his mother, I felt aaah...sad and worried. Of course I’m not sure if she meant his birth mother, or a step mother, but I’m hoping that one theory I had isn’t actually true. It’s one thing to have it as a theory, but it possibly being true really....really....hurts. Not trying to say I hate that being written in, but I just don’t want these characters to have such hardships weeps

Hearing that Rika purposely made Yoosung weaker as well hurt. aaah o|-< I dont know why I had hoped otherwise, though, when its apparent that she hardly had any sincere relationships of any kind.

And speaking of, I was very thankful that Sujin Ri said that she had aimed for folks to see V and Rika's relationship as abusive- because it is. That's not me pointing to shippers and trying to mock them, I just mean I'm thankful that she was blunt about that, and that there's a good of how some relationships seem perfect at a glance, but once you pay more attention you can see how abusive some really are.

In my opinion, theres a lot of relationships portrayed as healthy or ideal in most medias, so I'm thankful when some abusive ones arent always shown as the same carbon-copy cutout tropes people often try and show them as- so that people can see abuse takes many shapes and aren't always covered in warning flags.

Ahh, serious topics aside, I also think V's va was....a huge highlight of the panel. He was hilarious, sweet, and, well...the Rika thing killed me akahjwhkwbqjshdkg

A lot of people are probably very upset the panel didn't get to Rika, and also didn't get to a Q&A session, but I hope you all realize that they were trying very hard to cover all the bases. Apparently, the con ended up cutting their time short, but I don't have any links to prove that, it was just what I've heard.

I'm assuming they're probably going to upload the video and maybe have an addition of Rika with talk of her VA (I hooope T_T) and try to answer the online Q&A's in some sort of format.

There's parts of the panel I didn't mention directly, and I want you guys to know that doesn't mean I hated those parts- I loved the whole panel. All of it. Every bit- I just don't see a reason to go over every little bit when I've linked a post with a recording of the panel, aaa... But if you guys wanna ask questions about my thoughts on things, please feel free! I love asks like that.

After the panel we ended up wandering around the artist alley a lot! I felt bad I couldn't snap some pics of another Rika cosplayer (and there was someone dressed as V's mom too!!!!!!!), but I had loads of fun! There were so many more MM cosplayers out on Sat, and it was so cool seeing all of them! I even ran into someone that looked so much like Saeran!! (But my friend took pictures of them, haha, I ended up getting too shy to ask if I could take one).

At the end of the night, I got to play Sushi Go with friends! I talked a little about that in a previous post, but it was so fun!

And...then I snuck to the Miku machines before the game room closed aaaaaaaaa

Dhskjdkd I know some of you are probably like "Whaaaat!" Because there was another autograph signing, and as much as I love Cheritz and the Va's, there was an 8 hr drive ahead of me, and parking in Washington is fucking insane. Me and Crystal decided to head home as early as we could, and I'm glad for that because it was pretty late when we got back orz

I still have a lot to do, like find a proper pillow for my ray emoji case, and to hang up everything I bought, so I'm sorry for this post taking so long orz I'm still exhausted

The rest of the time there was a lazy afternoon, doing math while sitting near tinted windows and just scribbling on the desks while staring into the ceiling man it hits different t_t

Mystic Messenger Fanfiction | JuminxMC Good Ending Continued | Denial

***I think I'm finally back! We have finally closed on my house in Texas after months of issues, and my grandmother has been laid to rest peacefully next to my grandfather as it should be. Grieving comes and goes, but I finally feel like I'm getting back into the groove of life, so I'm hoping I haven't lost all of you in the meantime T_T. There was something so strange about watching this woman from behind a piece of glass. She’d been trying to trick my husband into taking down the entirety of the RFA as well as our guests, and when she hadn’t gotten what she wanted, she’d put my life and the life of our second child at risk. Rika. I bit at my thumb nail as I looked through the glass as her. V and all the other ‘Disciples’ had been taken care of and sent to treatment along with Seven’s twin brother. Not long after, Seven had taken his brother from treatment at the hospital and run off with him. Yoosung was distraught, and he was here almost every day with Rika. It wasn’t until I’d gotten a call from a concerned Seven that I considered going to this hospital, but he was right, Yoosung needed someone, and he couldn’t be there for the blond right now.

I wasn’t sure why the task had fallen to me, and I was technically supposed to be on bedrest, but my heart went out to the younger man. He was a member of the RFA and Jumin always said it was important to take care of your friends and fellow members were even more important. My husband was always so practical about this kind of thing. He’d insisted I stay home and simply have Yoosung come to me, but as soon as he’d left for work, I had one of the bodyguards take me to the mental hospital, assuring him that I wouldn’t tell my husband which of the guards it had been who took me there.

Zen and Jaehee weren’t much help really either since Jaehee was trying to deal with the media hailstorm and Zen was helping her with whatever he could. That was somewhat strange to me. Zen was a helpful man as it was, and he did hate how much work Jaehee tended to get piled on herself, but he was really going out of his way for her. Maybe there was something more there than met the eye, just like Seven and Yoosung. Other than Jumin and I, it seemed all of the RFA was off having secret relationships when it came to the public eye.

Rika was walking around aimlessly at the moment and then suddenly she slammed her fists against the glass. “I know you’re out there~ Please, please let me out! I have to save everyone from her! She’s a liar!” The doctors had mentioned that Rika kept attempting to entice them to set her free, had even tried to grab a nurse’s syringe and stab her with it to escape, but she tended to play word games, and she was blaming me for everything. This was part of why I felt like I had rocks in my stomach, even though I knew I only had our second daughter and a perfectly cooked lunch, as always. Yoosung seemed to be shutting himself off to only contact with Rika and Seven, and that could only spell bad news, because he was even starting to pay less attention to the redhead too.

I heard the door open behind me and turned to see the blond walking into the hallway, violet eyes falling on me almost immediately and then turning cold. “MC.” He didn’t seem at all like his cheery self, not even for a moment, and the way he was looking at me actually felt like it made my heart stop in fear for a solid few seconds. I put on the bravest smile I could manage. “Yoosung! It’s good to see you again. I heard you were visiting Rika and wanted to come see you.”

He actually narrowed his eyes at me. It was very likely that he believed whatever stories Rika was telling him, and if so, then there had to be some way for me to get Rika to tell him the truth? I’d managed it when I walked in on her talking to Jumin and foiled her plans. Of course, that would be some shock therapy, because her attitude was completely different when she wasn’t pretending, but maybe it would break Yoosung out of whatever she was telling him now? “Maybe we should both head in to talk to Rika?”

Yoosung’s eyebrows furrowed, but he just nodded numbly before walking to the door where a nurse was waiting to let him in already, I just followed along. “Just don’t say anything mean to her. She’s trying to get better.” For the first time that day, Yoosung had talked to me, and I counted that as a win even despite the fact that he was being supportive of a person the doctors were saying they were pretty certain had actually been fully aware of what she was doing when she kidnapped and drugged all of those people. I just nodded to what the blond had said.

The way Rika’s eyes lit up upon seeing Yoosung and then dulled as I walked in made me shiver to my core, and the baby jumped in my belly in response before I patted it and Rika’s eyes flashed between my belly and my face. “I see she’s still breeding. Her hooks are so deep into Jumin, Yoosung, why would you bring her here?” Her voice was so sickly sweet, and Yoosung actually sounded nervous and apologetic as he responded. “I’m sorry, Rika! Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s just a huge misunderstanding. You’re just sick, and you’re going to get better. MC will help too! She’s not like V.”

Right, I was painted as the bad guy from Rika’s point of view, V included, but at least Yoosung had the sense to believe that I wasn’t the problem and that was a start. How long did I sit there listening to Rika’s little pleasantries and fake kindness before she would start to slip in snide and rude remarks? Each time she did so, it was like Yoosung would emotionally recoil as though slapped. It hurt him to see her not getting better, because she wasn’t just sick, she knew what she was doing. That much was obvious, but Yoosung was so far in denial, clinging to the hope that she would get better and be the woman he’d once admired. Was there really anything anyone could do to break him out of that?

Suddenly, Rika grabbed Yoosung’s hands, leaning over the table and making frightened glances my way. “Don’t you see, Yoosung? She’s being so sweet, but she’s hiding the truth! MC is going to take you all away from me. It was V’s plot from the beginning!” Yoosung was about to shake his head and deny it before Rika let go of his hands and turned on me, trying to get at me from her side of the table as I scooted back in my chair as quickly as I could with my heavy belly. There was a loud booming noise as the door slammed open. This was too much stress for me, and I felt like I was going to hyperventilate before I saw that it was my husband standing in the doorway.

Jumin’s dark grey eyes slid over all of us, surveying the situation and looking like a supervisor barging into the breakroom. “That’s enough, now, Rika.” His tones were so dark and cold like when he had to reprimand workers at his job that it felt like my comparison was accurate. Yoosung stood, his chair scraping against the floor as he faced Jumin. “You can’t just come in here! She doesn’t want to see you.” That was true, he’d been barred by Rika, but then again. “She didn’t want to see MC either, but you brought her. You’re just trying to find the truth, right Yoosung? Except you’re trying to find the truth that you want.”

My husband’s observation was spot on and Yoosung made soft little attempts at protests before he looked between all three of us. “I just…Wanted…MC isn’t a bad person…” Jumin sighed heavily and crossed his arms, his fingers tapping lightly against his sleeves. I was certain that he had realized I was gone after trying to text me and not receiving any answer since my phone was off in the hospital entrance. His eyes slid over me, and I could see his displeasure, but he looked back towards Rika who was starting to make a fuss again, her eyes wild. “We’re the only ones who know the truth, Yoosung! Don’t you see?!”

Yoosung immediately made a move as though to comfort her, but my husband reached out and pushed him away from the now shrieking and panicking woman. That was enough to make Yoosung angry as he pushed against Jumin’s arm to get over to Rika, but Jumin ended up moving to hold the younger and smaller man from behind. “Let me go!” was mirrored by Rika shrieking for Yoosung to be let go as well until Jumin called out over them. “I said enough.”

The world quieted, and I simply sat there watching, my mouth completely dry. What could I even do? I was just a spectator at the end of the day. Rika had seemed to completely shed her veneer as she huffed and her eyes glazed over to that lightless look, her voice smooth and soft like syrup. “I simply can’t stand up to you, Jumin.” Yoosung had stopped fighting Jumin, but now dropped his arms from Jumin’s completely, a look of confusion crossing his face. “Rika?”

Rika picked at her wrists for a moment before she turned her back to us, looking at us in the reflection on the window. “Yoosung won’t leave me no matter what you say to him, so no matter how hard you try, he’ll always be mine.” Jumin let go of Yoosung slowly as he started to blabber. “Of course I won’t leave you, Rika. You’re the best person I’ve ever known.” It almost seemed like Rika was in some sort of mental break as she started to babble too, grating laughs interrupting every once in a while. “All my Disciples weren’t even as loyal as Yoosung and Saeran…I should have brought Yoosung with me too! But V wouldn’t let me take the RFA, that’s why he pretended I was dead! He ruined everything.”

At this point, I wasn’t really paying attention to what she was saying. Instead, I was watching Yoosung’s face as the denial was starting to shatter. It was almost impossible to keep denying the truth when she was spitting it out right in front of you. At first, he was shaking his head, mumbling that she was sick, but she’d replied that she wasn’t, that that was how she wanted it, her darkness that V had tried to get rid of or something of that manner, and Yoosung went silent. Tears built in his eyes, but he just stared in silent horror now. He took a step back, forgetting that Jumin was behind him and bumping into my husband who was watching with a stoic expression. Yoosung turned to look up at Jumin, looking over at me then, and taking off into the hallway through the still open door as the tears started to fall from those violet eyes.

All of his denial had been shattered, and I could hear him crying so hard as he banged on the hallway door to be let out. “We should go after him-“ Jumin sent me a glare that froze my blood. It wasn’t the norm for him to be so angry with me as well, but he clearly was. “I’ve already called Zen to take him to Seven’s bunker. He has to deal with his brother, but he can’t abandon Yoosung either.” Rika was still going off on her tangent in the background, only now realizing we weren’t paying her any attention, so now she lunged towards me in the chair only to be backhanded by Jumin, stepping back to hold her cheek. “Nurse!”

At his call, a nurse appeared almost immediately, but I didn’t get much chance to see what else was happening before Jumin took my hand and pulled me out into the corridor. He was gentle and careful as always, but his grip was tighter than usual, and he was silent until we got into the car waiting for us out front. “You lied to me and put yourself in danger, our child in danger.” His tone was so cold, and I put my hands over my belly. “You know that bedrest is just because we had such a hard labor with our first daughter, not because I actually need it.” Jumin just huffed at my explanation, fixing his cufflinks. His façade was up, but now it faded as he stopped messing with them. “Don’t you understand…I was afraid?”

I bit at the inside of my cheek, feeling a pain in my chest. Only I ever got to see him so vulnerable, and I knew that it would worry him when I wasn’t where I was supposed to be, but I had been so focused on helping Yoosung. “I’m sorry…Yoosung needed help…and I didn’t realize how much I would hurt you.” Jumin looked towards me, our eyes locking for a solid few minutes, saying things we never could verbally. This man loved me so deeply, needed me to help him know that the world wasn’t made up of only liars, that it was okay to truly care for other people and show them that too, and I loved him so deeply too.

With another deep sigh, Jumin scooted towards me in the seat, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me against his chest as he put his face in my hair. “Don’t ever do that to me again, MC.” Being in his arms felt so safe and easily made any stress melt away, even if I still felt horribly guilty. “Promise me.” Could I really promise that I would never do something similar? “I can promise to never lie to you again…but I’ll always choose to help people.” I could almost feel the little chuckle that didn’t quite escape his lips. “I understand. That’s the type of woman I fell in love with. I just never expected it to become such a problem. I’m almost jealous when you choose to help others over listening to me, even in my own route.”

At heart, Jumin really was just a big softie. I nuzzled into his chest, feeling our child moving around and taking his hand to place it over the baby as well. He splayed his fingers over my belly automatically, a familiar feeling and something he did daily. “But I’ll always come back to you. You’re the man I chose.” Jumin kissed the top of my head. “I’ll take better care of you from now on.”

He pulled away from me to look down in to my eyes. “And I’ll do the same.” On some level, it was almost ominous when he talked about taking better care of me, because I knew that would mean him trying to set new rules and stipulations out of fear for me getting hurt or something happening to his now happy family of four, but that was a challenge I would always have to deal with, and I couldn’t help but smile and give him a soft kiss. There was no denying that I loved this man.

Chapter Three – Lucio I - Mishaps and Lunch

Warnings - Nothing too graphic except TW for slight vomit (not very descriptive).

Lucio had never felt so comfortable before in his life. He was drifting between the haze of sleep and consciousness, aware of his surroundings but not paying any true attention. It was warm, dark… and if Lucio had paid enough attention, he would notice the increasingly loud muffles of someone-

“Santos!”

A large, dark skinned hand slammed on the desk- barely an inch away from Lucio’s head.

Lucio jumped, an audible gasp escaping him as he awoke. He glanced around the classroom, which was filled with his smirking classmates, made Lucio realise with embarrassment he had fallen asleep in class… with probably the least patient teacher there was.

Looking up at Professor Gabriel Reyes, Lucio gave the man an apologetic smile. Reyes expression remained unchanged, unimpressed mixed with stern disappointment. Also a hint of intimidation, which was not hard considering how tall and scarily scarred his professor was.

“Uh… my bad Professor?” Lucio said meekly, trying his hardest to repress a yawn. He felt exhausted.

“”Your bad”?” Reyes cocked an eyebrow. “I expect all my students to pay attention to my lectures, and answer when I ask a question, Santos.”

“Question?” Lucio said, looking around to his peers. Most were snickering at this point, and being generally unhelpful. “Uh… could you please repeat it, professor?”

Reyes sighed, and all Lucio wanted to do was shrink down and disappear.

“I had asked you what the three laws of motion were.” Reye supplied, not entirely helpful for Lucio. He had been unable to pay attention to the two hour long lecture, and any memory of that information was non-existent in his mind. “You were set the task of researching it yesterday. I assume you did your homework?”

Crap… Lucio thought, unable to hide a grimace. He was screwed.

“The three laws of motion are… well, it’s the thing with Isaac Newton…” Lucio said, trying to speak slowly enough to think. Even if he knew it, his mind was going blank from the stress of the situation. “Uh…”

“I think that’s enough Santos, it’s clear you didn’t do the reading I set out for everyone yesterday.” Reyes grumbled, and turned away from him to face the board. Lucio gritted his teeth, feeling an awful mix of guilt and anger.

He understood why Reyes would be annoyed, but his professor’s awful mood seemed uncalled for. Then again, Reyes was always in an awful mood.

Lucio watched as he wrote on the whiteboard, making sure to take notes to ease his professor’s irritation. Which seemed an impossible task.

The next hour dragged ever so slowly, Lucio had to use any willpower left to stay awake- he really couldn’t afford to anger Reyes any further and risk being held behind.

Unfortunately, Reyes did just that.

“Santos.” Reyes called, as Lucio packed up his bag and went to leave with his other classmates. Lucio stilled, repressing a sigh. “We need to have a chat.”

“What’s up, Professor?” Lucio asked, cautiously, as he approached Reyes desk. But he had a feeling of what it was about. Reyes grimaced at his casual wording.

“Santos, tell me, why are you in this class?” Reyes asked, sharply. Lucio was taken aback, from both the question and tone. He shifted awkwardly.

“If this is about the late homework, I am sorry professor. I’ve just been kinda busy with my job and-“

“This is more than just the homework.” Reyes sighed, he didn’t look too angry- just weary. “You have been in this class for a few months but you seem to have no interest in the subject, you’ve been missing deadlines, putting a part-time job a priority when your education should be.”

Lucio was silent, staring at one of Reyes potted plants (lilies of all things), conflicted. The words struck close, all the doubts of himself laid bare- the why am I here? Is this what I want?

“Are… are you kicking me off the course?” Lucio asked quietly, Reyes rolled his eyes.

“No.” Reyes said, shaking his head slightly. “I’m not going to do that. It might seem like the opposite Santos, but I want the best for you- for my students. If you don’t want to be here, don’t be- or waste your time. Our time.”

“Uh… thank you?” Lucio said, and couldn’t help but glance towards the door. Reyes noticed.

“You can leave.” He sighed, and as Lucio practically rushed towards the door, he called out.

“Bring your damn homework next time!”

Lucio smiled to himself, pocketing the phone as he made his way through campus. Much to his relief, lessons for the day were almost over, Lucio having an hour or so for a free period before his compulsory maths class. He would usually meet with Hana, but instead he had some pretty important errands. Ignoring his buzzing phone (likely Hana sending him silly GIFS), Lucio picked up his pace – the campus was pretty big, it would take him at least twenty minutes to get to his apartment.

Leaving his poorly patient for so long left a sour taste in Lucio’s mouth- the 2 hour long lesson not helping much with that concern.

Lucio was out of breath by the time he reached his apartment complex, key ready in his hand, he jogged up the two flights of stairs- barely stopping to unlock his door and rush inside. A quick glance around reminded him of the very due clean out needed- empty takeout boxes practically lined his kitchen and living area, dirty laundry thrown into a pile.

His mãe would throw a fit at the sight.

Lucio ignored it for now, sliding his bag and jacket off onto the floor whilst he made his way to his bedroom. The cage was still sat secure on his desk, undisturbed and silent as Lucio approached. He assumed Amiguinho was still sleeping.

“Hey, time to wake up Amiguinho…” Lucio cooed, as he opened the roof door. He had managed to find time to pick up some rat pellets on the way so quickly prepared his food. He hoped that the rat was healthy enough to start on solids, and not just fluid. “You up little guy?”

Lucio continued to talk softly, reaching down to nudge the bundle of fabric- he hadn’t the heart earlier to disturb and move Amiguinho earlier.

As his finger moved a section of the fabric aside, a soft pink nose slowly emerged- moving erratically, soon very twitchy whiskers were now visible. Lucio froze, staring as Amiguinho slowly lifted his head and let out a soft hiss.

“Hey, it’s okay.” Lucio said, moving his hand away- he learned his lesson the other night. “Nothing to be scared about here, just checking to see if you’re alright. You hungry?”

Lucio didn’t expect a response, he always spoke so openly with animals- even if people looked at him strange for doing so. If anything, it reassured Lucio more than the rat.

Amiguinho crawled slowly, lifting himself out of the scarf. Lucio could tell by his movements that he was still recovering, his gait wobbly and awkward, which was not helped by the missing limbs.

Thankfully his eyes seemed brighter, and more alert- and no obvious signs of shock were present.

“You’re looking so much better than yesterday Amiguinho!” Lucio smiled, and placed the bowl of pellets down in front of the rat. “Hey, you think you can eat some of this?”

Amiguinho didn’t move for a moment, staring wide-eyed at Lucio. Then, he leaned down to sniff the bowl, never taking his shiny eyes off Lucio.

His pink nose wrinkled with distaste, the rat bearing his teeth and letting out a much louder hiss than before. Amiguinho turned his back to the bowl, instead choosing to look (glare?) upwards at the still open cage roof. Lucio closed it slowly.

“Amiguinho, you have to eat. It’ll help you feel better.” Lucio chastised him, but wasn’t too concerned, yet. “But hey, it’s alright… you’re still healing, I know you feel too terrible to eat, but try later yeah?”

Sitting back on the edge of his bed, Lucio sighed. It would be naïve to assume the still injured rat would be ready to eat, and if Amiguinho had never eaten pellets before- it would be unlikely he’d rush to eat something unfamiliar.

Lucio shrugged to himself, and feeling hungry himself, decided to fix up some lunch.

He was halfway mentally composing a new song when the food was ready to dish up. Lifting the red hot pot off the stove, Lucio hummed- left foot tapping to an imaginary beat.

It was a traditional feijkoada dish, although it was nothing like his mãe would cook- a half-assed discount version if anything. But it reminded him of home, and was one of his favourites.

Delicious meat and beans, with a touch of homesickness.

With a hearty serving of feijkoada in a bowl, Lucio made his way back to the bedroom- wanting to keep an eye on his patient during his meal.

To Lucio’s dismay, he still had another class at the college in less than a couple hours- as well as work in the evening.

As Lucio settled with his meal on the bed, covers still messy from the morning, he began to eat. Lucio couldn’t help but practically hum at the taste, after only having a hastily half-eaten cereal bar the whole day, the meal was mouth-wateringly satisfying.

But, loud grating sound caught Lucio’s attention, he glanced towards the plastic enclosure, where Amiguinho was hanging off the bars of the roof, gnawing the metal frame frantically. Lucio worried for the injured rat’s safety more than anything else.

“Hey, hey, stop that.” Lucio said, gently.

Putting his bowl down, he scooted closer to the cage. Amiguinho froze in his movements, still gripping onto the roof with only one fore limb- impressive really, considering how weak the animal should be at this stage. “You’ll hurt yourself, Amiguinho.”

The rat gave a rather loud hiss in reply, Lucio frowned- but as Amiguingo bared his teeth; his grip on the cage slipped, the animal landing on the plastic bottom with a rather loud thud. The animal looked dazed.

“Oh, crap.” Lucio swore, and went to open the enclosure. He was too racked with worry to care about bites, so he scooped Amiguinho up in his hands. Lucio stroked Amiguinho lightly on his soft forehead, practically holding him against his chest like a baby.

The small rat was shaking slightly, but otherwise seemed unhurt- if not woozy. Lucio continued to stroke his forehead gently, the action seeming to calm the animal.

“You got to be more careful Amiguinho, you’re still recovering from yesterday and last thing I want is for you to be any more hurt…” Lucio chided, his soft expression turning slightly tense when Amiguinho started to shift in his arms.

It was instinctual, but Lucio could still vividly remember the painful sensation of being bitten by a rat, and would rather not repeat it.

But instead of the aggressive response he expected, Amiguinho only moved to raise himself on his hind quarters, his pink nose scrunched up as he sniffed towards Lucio’s bowl of food…

Suddenly Amiguinho tensed, and before Lucio could react, he dived.

“Hey!” Lucio gasped, his grasp on his food slipped- the bowl tipping sideways which caused half of meat to spill on the white duvet covers.

This didn’t bother Amiguinho, who was happily munching on the very species inappropriate food. The rat’s face was covered with the reddish sauce, making him look almost feral.

“Man…” Lucio sighed, rubbing his face in exasperation. “You wouldn’t eat the pellets, but thought my lunch would be a nice treat, huh?”

Amiguinho said nothing, instead he choked.

“Oh shit.” Lucio breathed, frozen as the rat hacked violently a second time- it seemed it he was eating too fast for his throat to manage. It wasn’t until he coughed a third time that Lucio jumped into action, lifting the rat in one hand as he quite sharply pressed Amiguinho’s ribcage.

A few repeated presses seemed to help. Amiguinho’s choking became less forceful after a few moments. Lucio grimaced as the rat finally threw up, chunks of half eaten meat finally unstuck from his throat.

“You really are accident prone, aren’t you?” Lucio sighed, gently wiping some sauce and food from Amiguinho’s mouth with his hand. The rat squeaked quietly, his amber eyes focusing on Lucio as he wiped away the debris. “You’re going to give me a heart attack y’know.”

Lucio grabbed a washcloth from his bathroom, Amiguinho still curled up in his arms. With the damp cloth, he finished cleaning all the sauce off the rat’s face- the animal seemed weak after his choking fit, and barely put up any fight. It was a worrying sight.

Lucio glanced at his watch, and bit his lip.

“I don’t think I can leave you here… but I got class…” Lucio mused to himself, his eyes catching sight of a small carry cage/vivarium he uses to take Alfonso, his frog, to the vets.

“That could work…”

I was struck by an uninsured driver on 02-10-11. Because the driver who struck me was uninsured I was forced to file a claim with my insurance company(Omni Insurance). The car was towed to CJ's collision at 6128 n beechwood Philadelphia, pa ,19138 on 02-11-11. Phone number 215-848-2836. On 02-14-11 Omni insurance sent out an appraiser to evaluate the vehicle. They then faxed an estimate on 02-15-11 totaling $5300 to CJ's collision shop. I went to the collision shop on 02-15-11 to sign paperwork giving them permission to work on my car. They then began the repairs. On 02-18-11 the insurance company then deemed my car a total loss. The vehicle is a 2005 Nissan Altima SL with 96,477 miles. The NADA value for the vehicle is 10,995. According to Omni insurance a car is deemed a total loss when the repairs reach 70% of the value of the vehicle. Omni insurance valued my car at 7,415. They then proposed a settlement offer of 5826.40. They deducted 975.00 in prior damages(which I disagree with) and 1000.00 my deductible. The settlement offer included 386.40 in sales tax. After negotiating on 02-28-11 they proposed an offer of 7835.30. The value they gave my car was 9255. Again 975.00 was deducted and my 1000.00 deductible. They including sales tax and tags/registration fee in the offer. I accepted the offer out of desperation because they also stopped paying for the rental car I was driving on 02-28-11. I work, attend school and have a child my schedule requires that I have a car so I paid out of pocket for a rental car until 03-07-11, expecting the payment to be issued to my lien holder by then so I could purchase another car. I contacted them on 03-07-11 inquiring about my payment and was informed they did not pick the vehicle up from the collision shop therefore they were not issuing a payment. The collision shop gave them a bill of 1750.00 for the repairs they did and the storage fees. The insurance company disagrees with this and refuses to pick the vehicle up and issue my payment. They have also stated this may come out of my settlement offer. The insurance company already has the title to the car and all the necessary paperwork to the vehicle but refuses to issue a payment. It has been a month since I filed my claim and I can no longer afford to pay for a rental especially since it seems I will have to purchase a new vehicle. The insurance company is low balling me and also forcing me to pay for repairs they approved then backed out of.""
