Why I Love Jesus

-You are the only constant in my life in a world of full of change and turmoil

-You love me despite all the crap that I've done and will do in the future

-You saved me (and are saving me) from the darkest parts within myself

-You are light when the world feels dark

-You give me hope for the future

-You are my source of permanent joy which defies the circumstances of this world

-You bring me peace in a sea of chaos

-You are my strength when I am weak

-You are my guidance in my confusion

-You are higher and stronger and bigger and greater than all the evils in this world

-You never let go

-You give my life meaning and passion

-You've blessed me immensely

{ Giving } . I tend to love giving more than receiving. For me, receiving is hard. There are so many negative emotions associated with receiving that it isn't life-giving to me. (Apart from receiving salvation, which was no less hard, but the greatest gift of life that could ever be offered or received.) . Being able to give, is having something to offer that is of value to someone else. It is being able to bless. It is helping in a practica way. { Why I Love Jesus } . Day 26 of 30 . He gives us strength to do what He has called us to. . Day 4 of 5 for high school baseball tryouts. . Our oldest has been fighting a cold all week; he is working overtime to finish up a class, that he was transferred to mid-rerm, before tryouts end; he is honoring his commitments; and showing up every day, in the pouring rain and crazy cold, giving it his best because he is passionate about the gift for baseball that God wove into him. . He is physically and emotionally spent, but instead of quitting, he is relying on Jesus to see him through. . { Why I Love Jesus } . Day 12 of 30 . He knows exactly what will bless us most. . If you know me, you know that I hate Valentine's Day. For many reasons, including the ridiculous commercialization of love and shaming people into spending money to "prove" their affection. . For me, though, it started when I was a kid. Every year I looked forward to the excitement of getting Valentine's at school. But some of the cards I got were so cruel. . They said things like "Don't be my valentine.", or "You are ugly.", or "I wish you would die." . Every year I hoped for better, but every year I got a few of those. . So, I stopped celebrating it. . Until I had kids. Then I made sure they would always have Valentine's that spoke life and love over them. . Waking up to snow, one of my FAVORITE things in the verse, was such a beautiful valentine from Him. . { Why I Love Jesus } . Day 9 of 30 . Unexpected blessings. . When God puts it on a very dear friend's heart to bless you with a van. . For those of you that don't know, we had both of our cars die last year. God blessed us to be able to buy one, so we have been a one car family for quite a while now. . I also swore I would never be the mom with a mini van. So our kids have never been able to have a group of friends come home with us. . God knew their hearts and our need. . This amazing gift has blessed our whole family. . I was a broken mess, weighed down by the lies I believed and the shame of my sin. . But Jesus... . He came in and made me new. He took the pain of my past, of the things done and said to me, and the things I did and said to myself, and turned them into PURPOSE. . I am thankful and blessed to be part of our church's restoration ministry, "Set Free". Each week I get to be an ambassador of safety, of love, of acceptance, and grace. I get to see Him do what only He can... . I get to watch Him break chains, breathe life, create identity and give new purpose to people He loves so dearly. . Jesus is SO GOOD. He is faithful.
