Running a sylvari through HoT for fun and profit and getting attached to her!
Might pair her up with Caepasia Wildbound, my charr Ranger who is not a commander, but instead a Pact scout. (what if they want to kiss caithe tho) ANYWAY her name is Aine and i'm love her.
also y'all i did not expect it to be SO unsettling running a sylvari through. it is tho. i'm so glad I didn't do this my first run through because that would'a scared me right out of the game.

Hi! Saying minimal things to avoid spoilers:
Forestborn:
A magical illness is spreading, the youngest prince (who everyone loves) gets it, so two people (with magic, which makes them persecuted by certain people) set out to retrieve a cure, they’re forced to bring along the prickly older prince.
Wildbound: I mean the sequel lol - the kingdoms are at war. Basically there is a lot of h/c (in both) for like everybody, lots of found family, trope city, angst, and only one very vague very skippable euphemistic sexual scene in Wildbound. There is some romance but it’s (imo) mild, and tempered/balanced by the found family of it all.
Mains are supposedly 16-25 I think? But you also don’t know for some because /they/ don’t know (they lived in the forest and lost track 🤷‍♀️). YA for sure, but maybe only 1-2 eyerolls of a possible 10 (and one is for that scene in Wildbound, which I would skip for multiple reasons and which imo contributes nothing to the plot. I am possible biased as a sex repulsed ace who thinks no sex scene ever has contributed to put but)
I think the writing is better in Wildbound than Forestborn (the first book sometimes I question tenses? But don’t know enough to say for sure, just sometimes feels weird), but it’s overall decent.
Basically a rec that is heavily based on the tropes which were 10/10 lol
sounds good!! Thanks for the summaries and rec!! I appreciate that! I'll keep it in mind for my next new book hunt :D

Wildbound - Elayne Audrey Becker (Forestborn #2)
Tumblr media
With the assassination of Telyan's king, the time for peace has passed. Determined to make up for his failure to procure the stardust, Helos finds work as a healer at Fendolyn's Keep, the military garrison to which Telyan's exiled royals--and half its civilians--have fled. Racing against the Fallow Throes' ticking clock, he endeavors to repair his relationship with Prince Finley and fight off the gathering shadows in his head, as the base around him prepares for war. Half a continent away, his sister Rora is doing everything she can to reawaken the land and end Eradain's slaughter of magical beings. Still reeling from the revelation that Eradain's violent monarch is her half-brother, she journeys to the kingdom determined to infiltrate his court in disguise--and finds the seeds of rebellion are already stirring. With a magical illness running rampant and the continent arming for battle, the three realms' long-feared destruction seems inevitable. But the two shifters they believed would bring about Alemara's ruin may in fact hold the key to its survival.
tw (i assume): death, illness

“Master Porky” Fassad approached the King, giving a bow of the head before standing up right again. He kept his head lowered, however (He had no right to look at the King in the eye)
“The lighting strikes have hit as scheduled today. Do you have any other plans for us?”

(starter for @wildbound!)
Ninten walked along the path, his dog Mick trotting excitedly next to him. He had forgotten to attach the leash today, but Mick was usually so well-behaved he hardly thought he needed it.
The path was usually empty this time of day, but today there was someone else walking along just ahead. Ninten barely had time to react when Mick barked excitedly and ran up to the person, tongue hanging out happily. Ninten wasn't far behind, running over to catch up.
"Ah geez--get back here, Mick! Sorry 'bout that...he won't bite, promise!"

An Inconvenient and Bitter Reunion (Closed RP)
@wildbound
Thirty years have passed since the incident with the Spirit Tracks and the defeat of Malladus. Though to the outside world this was a pleasant memory, as it kept the monsters and other inhabitants of the Dark Realm out of their world, for the latter it was a reminder of their failures. A time that the cerveridians and blins scowled at, for it was that day when their King, who promised them freedom into the world of light, was obliterated by two innocent children. How could they have failed?                This question resonated with the ex-chancellor especially, as he began to wince at the awful memories of that day. Yes, he could never forget it. The day the Demon King became enraged at him for losing the body of the princess, his only suitable vessel, and as an act of either spite or desperation (Cole himself wasn’t sure) took the small imps’ body instead, transforming and deforming it to a hideous beast. This weakened both the King and the Chancellor as he couldn’t hold on to his body for long. Though Malladus swore that he could destroy the upper world in the time he had remaining, that too failed. Cole remembered every terrifying minute of it.
Though he couldn’t control his body, he could see everything that went on around him. How those brats clawed at his wrists, how they gored and impaled him with the lokomo sword. He thought for sure it was over for him. And yet...He was able to regenerate. Somehow, since Malladus was in control of his body, he took the full blow of the legendary blades’ power. It destroyed Malladus’ vessel and his soul completely, but Coles’ spirit survived, and because of that, he was able to regenerate his entire body...though it took a long amount of time. Twenty years of waiting just to try again.                   The small cerves shuddered once more at the memories. One memory in particular sent shivers down his spine. He remembered how he mocked Byrnes’ death. But how could he have not known the same would happen to him? Malladus was always a vengeful one...What a fool he was, to think that he would be spared the fate that befell his former partner-in-crime.                 Yet he had to wonder....if he was able to survive...could Byrne have done so, too...?

☢ What fads/trends are you so over?
Tumblr media
I don’t know if this is a fad but I do see people doing it—-icons smaller than 50x50. I just find them hard to see, to tell what’s going on. More so if they’re heavily edited. It doesn’t bother me a whole lot though.
