OK but the way that the Musical itself seems to reflect the comics characterisation more then the show (Re-instating the love triangle, Jughead constantly bringing up food and seemingly having no interest in women, Cheryl supposedly being into Archie) and then the show characters actively reject those characterisations and one by one leave and/or strive to change the Musical (Betty and Veronica change their song from a love song about Archie to a love song about each other and kiss, thus subverting the love triangle and meanwhile Archie, instead of protesting this, decides separately to end the love triangle to focus on himself, Jughead leaves the Musical after the first number deeming it beneath him, Cheryl alongside Toni campaign for a queer love song and leave when it isn't added.) Hell, Archie isn't even in the Musical by the end, literally symbolising that the Archie in the musical isn't Riverdale Archie, thus separating Riverdale further from the comics canon and restating that while on paper the show is based off of the Archie comics it is in name only for the most part and in practice basically none of these characters could (or should, in the eyes of the writer's in all likelyhood) be considered the same as their comic counterparts—

honestly it's just a v distinct feature of my brain in that for god knows WHAT reason i just do not get w things at their peak (if i do at all). i've been like this since i was like 8 so i think its partly just preferring to do things at my pace rather than because everyone else is (also i feel like people get weird w hozier online and i want to be away from that). but also if i'm partaking in / discussing something i much prefer to do it intimately so before anything else i will absolutely be flooding @agapebynicholasbritell and @dearorpheus DMS when i finally listen to it 💗

Netflix stop making new shows with good plots and/or good lgbt and poc charaters that you then leave undeveloped after one season in favor of the same 4 cishet basic bitch franchises challenge

I genuinely don't think straight people can even begin to grasp how upsetting the homophobia in the ted lasso fandom is starting to become. It's coming from all sides: casual viewers i speak to in real life who laugh in my face when i mention the possibility of any of the main characters being queer ("there's more than enough gay stuff with colin being there", "you're making the keeley stuff up she's obviously straight cause she's with roy"), people on the internet saying "who even is this colin guy?" after him being on the show for 3 seasons or "baz doesn't need to be gay as well, stop making everybody gay". And this is about the show that's all about be true to yourself! Be curious not judgemental! Be kind! This show managed to curate that kind of audience. It all just feels so fucking impossible sometimes.

It makes me nauseous thinking about the idea of 911 not following through with Buddie, not just because it’s the most deeply romantic best-friends-to-lovers build up I’ve ever witnessed, but because there is no way that these two clearly heterosexual actors could play a clueless bisexual man (Buck) and an in-denial-closeted gay man (Eddie), with such authenticity and emotion, so believably in love with each other, if they weren’t trying to make it obvious. Which means either their relationship has been the endgame plan this whole time, or they have chosen an act of violence against the hopes for representation the queer community has for these characters, with the ugliest baiting in the history of television
