this striking little guy has what breeders would refer to as a “watermarked with windsprites” coat! the coat is distinguished by the darker borders of the lighter brown patches, and is obviously stunning. what a lovely sighthound!

Is there some kind of Sighthound Renaissance going on? I've been seeing a lot of canine worms on strings. (Not often off the string, and as the owner of a terrier with sighthound ancestry I know exactly why not)

Someone else asked me how old my puppy is. They were talking about Moxie.

Went to flyball last night with a few teams I've never practiced with plus my team and one person was SO CONVINCED that Saga was a sheltie and I was making things up. Her reasoning? She used to own shelties.

I have spent probably far too long studying the early pedigrees of windsprites and windhounds and cross referencing to whippets... It's fascinating and also a little shocking at how few dogs were in the foundation of both breeds. I wish I could go back in time and learn about it in a non emotional way. It's scary trying to talk to anyone about those early peds and dogs bc of how emotionally charged the topic can be.
