Wing Au? Wing Au. 

But see, ecto-contamination has an effect on those of Amity Park, even more so after their temporary stint into the Zone itself. They were there for hours, if not more, that has an effect on things. It’s like suddenly being transported in the middle of the sight of a nuke, there’s no way you aren’t getting irradiated. 

So their wings might start to… mutate a bit. Just shift and adjust here and there, grow bigger than how they should, with how flight had been lost so long ago. Some now covered in a waxy sheen, others bioluminescent, more with flickers of scales like moths. Others even further changed, the tops opening into maws, eyes blinking amidst feathers, leaves growing from bone like it’s a branch. 

And the Outside remains oblivious beyond the shields, unaware of the rising anger behind it as instincts of predators are returned and brought anew. Where the dead and the living meld into something new. Something Other to what they once were. 

And the GIW are starting to become concerned with how the things inside are searching for a way out. It… might be time to ask for assistance.

Horrible modern fantasy AU idea: Winged Goddess Daughter loses her wings (her brother cut them off) and most of her power, cast down to earth and having to struggle to regain what strength she can to get back to The Realm Of Gods and stop her brother.

She manages to set up a place to bide her time, a little herbal-and-crystal magic shop (she's got enough power to invent a social security number and credit history for "Dorothy 'Dot' Morrison", but not enough to miracle a penthouse) in a slightly secluded park area near a mid-sized town with a history of witches.

Ahsoka wanders in one day, manages to endear herself to Dot, and now the Goddess has a sidekick. Not a worshiper, not a devotee, not an acolyte. Just a teenager who thinks she's Real Cool and is willing to go find Weird Plants and Glowing Rocks for a part-time paycheck, especially if one on the duties is Owl Care.

Part of me is insisting on an adoption plot but ehhhh I'm big on the Disaster Trio being family.

(It's a 'horrible' AU because it was inspired partly by a gorier, more actively violent version of the wing removal from Maleficent.)

I was typing out descriptions of wings for an ATLA wing au I think about/ may or may not want to fully write, and I gave Zuko Phoenix wings and obviously his left wing is burned and damaged to the point he can't fly any more.

But I was writing the description of them after he meets Ran and Shaw (Or during the final Agni kai still in debate) but essentially, they heal and look nice cause he's been 'reborn' in a sense.

Like it makes sense thematically, but know I'm fighting with myself on if I'm just doing the 'Magically heals disability' trope?

There are two wolves inside of me, one wants to keep his wing injured and keep him unable to fly and the other wants the wing healed cause its a Phoenix wing and is meant to symbolize rebirth and renewal.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Wings of the phoenix au bc this shit is rotting my brain cavities fullfrontal like after their partnership gets approved Ace and Sabo have to prep for the ritual that will formally bind them as a magical emitter reservoir pair its a long process thats more rooted in tradition than necessity

Sabo thinks its a load of shit (hes so impatient lol) but Ace seems to find it important, chides him for speaking bad about it, Sabo guesses it means alot to his family considering how magically inclined they are, Ace is the first reservoir in a long history of emitters though, Sabo comes from a decidedly non magical family bloodline so it had been a bit of a shock

It involves fasting, drone like chants that take hours to complete, something both he and Ace must do their part to memorise, the annoiting the shared collaborative drawing of the bond circle and the physical piece of themselves that they would give to magically tie their souls — usually a lock of hair, but Sabo wont lie if he could physically give Ace a part of his heart he would (THEYRE SO DOWN BAD FOR EACH OTHER)

It had not been a surprise for the academy board at the time but to the royal court mages witnessing Sabo and Ace’s ritual when Sabo reveals a knife intent on saturating the bond with blood magic as the physical offering they resist vocally, but a ritual cannot be stopped once started and Sabo kisses Ace (to further shock and outrage hes such an exhibitionist lol) whos mouth is smeared with the blood he drew from his palm its complete the energy thrumming within the ritual space is edged on sinister

Its all Sabos doing of course

With the intent to wipe out such a problematic budding magic, Ace and Sabo are sent to the Phoenix for further training

Marco of course knows all about their ritual his father had been a witness, its a little concerning but nothing he cant handle

And then he sees them and hes like oh, well arent you two troublesome

I finally finished this! This is fanart for the most recent chapter of "For The Forgotten Ones" by Im_Sorry_Buddy on ao3

You should definitely read their story because its good. Chapter 37 is a rollercoaster of a chapter and is by far my most favorite. The appearance of Ignited Dream caught me so off guard that I needed to stop and lay down. I know in the fic Dream's face cannot be seen anymore, only his mouth. But I just cant figure out a way to do it without making it look like a toddler spilled orange paint and stepped on it. Even though this isn't biblically accurate, I'm happy how this turned out (and i hope y'all like it too)

I'm planning to draw something for this, but just have to share some of my ideas first lol.

Agent Phoenix is a SkyWing who was turned into a scavenger/human via an animus curse. This makes them the only scavenger in an Agency full of dragons, which has its pros and cons. Needless to say, Zor is absolutely infuriated that their plans are being foiled by a small, squishy creature that should be nothing but prey.

As for (almost) everyone else as dragons:
