#im gonna be a hater tonight sorry #so many AM designs dont. Represent AM like they should. Itll just be a robot with a tv head or something resembling a human #but like. AM would NOT resemble a human in the slightest. please tell me you read the book #AM would be an uncomfortable and incomprehensible mess of wires and screens. it doesnt move it Crawls and it's metal scrapes on the floor.#whatever could possibly resemble limbs would be too long or abnormally shaped. a mess of wires and scrap metal and circuitry #there is no need for teeth or a jaw. speakers work just fine. no need for noses. robots dont need to smell #there is no need for ears. AM already has enough sensors spanning the world that pick up way too much sound at any given time.#and theres no need for eyes. asides from making the last living subjects uncomfortable. sensors once again work fine #AM is a horrible and messy amalgamation of parts. ever changing and shifiting as mass falls off and is rebuilt.#wires and cables and scrap and pieces scavenged from what little remains of the world. an ouroboros of metal #there is no need for anything remotely human in AM's design. especially when AM literally hates humans.#why would AM go out of it's way to *be* human.#“oh but AM was jealous of humans for their senses” YES but jealousy of SENSES does not equal jealousy of FORM #you ever see those poor cable management pictures that just looks like a conglomerate of wires and switches? THAT is AM .#that is not a human. that is not an animal. that is a machine and it hates.#ihnmaims

My fuse blew while I was cooking and fried my extension cord and now my fridge isn’t working, where the fuck is Joel Miller when you need him. Come over and fix this while looking sexy as fuck (u guys are lucky I turn every minor inconvenience in my life into a oneshot)

my single dorm, my senior year, 2024-2025

#i wanted to take a moment to cherish my room #this space is my pride and joy #it may not be large but i fill it with so much love that i #i love when people come to visit and the first thing they comment is how nice it smells #they compliment my walls that my friend so generously put together for me because i was too overwhelmed by the white walls and endless #posters and papers and art and scraps but she simply saw it as a puzzle and did it happily #she occasionally asked my opinion or i asked if she could make an adjustment and it was just such a breather because it felt nice to be #taken care of in some way yknow?#anywho i also like to make sure everyone has a place to sit #ive got a bean bag and my desk chair but i always offer my bed as long as theres no outside clothes in my sheets #my lights took AGES to put up because i did it myself #i was standing on my bed and then my desk and then a chair and then spidermaning the wall putting up thr wires with command strips and #then wrapping them on plastic hooks around the room ONLY FOR THE COMMAND STRIPS TO FAIL ANYWAYS #so like im glad my backup worked but i worked so hard 🤧#i (almost) always wanna have something on the tv or i’ve got a speaker that places music and i always offer a snack and UGH #i just love making people feel seen and cared for and GOOD when they’re with me it makes me feel so fulfilled and brings me so much joy #i realized when i was with my friend the other night i cooked her dinner and let her just enjoy herself and she was like this is really nice #i love quality time and acts of service #those are my favorite #and i think i try to cultivate a space that reflects that #i hope it’s inviting and makes people feel safe #i love when people ask questions about things on my walls or if they can look at my shelfs #my room is a museum of myself <3 i couldn’t be happier than for you to look at it and get to know me through my things and wow #i just love being a safe space #and this is my last semester at my school so i feel like my room today is an amalgam of my experience over the four years of who i have been #and who i became and how i GOT here. wow. heavy on that shit #it’s just really beautiful though #cause i carry my experiences with me everyday and i’m learning to build from them instead of let them sink me and it’s taken SO LONG to get #but im happy and i love my room and i wanted to share it

im also sorry this apology came late, i felt to chicken to write one innitially, i dont know if i did end up sending u one, but ur reaction to my ask came up in my feed again and i really wanted to apologise once more.

I'm so sorry for those you lost in this horrid storm and I'm so proud of u for pushing through, everyone is and I hope u know that.

I know this apology doesn't make up for anything but I just wanted u to know that I took in what u responded, u were well in ur right to be pissed off, and I now know for future to type my messages in a kinder way so they don't get taken as a ride remark, I hope u know I didn't type what I said to be rude, not that it matters in anyway.

It's all good fam--I honestly had a few of these messages between here and A03, some a lot ruder that yours, and yours just happened to be the first one I saw when I managed to get a few hours with proper access to Tumblr (Ie not on the craptastic app on my phone, which refuses to let me answer asks and crashes when I try lol.)

Thank you for apologizing, it does mean a lot, and it takes a lot of courage to do it.

It's a weird lesson to learn sometimes, that people who don't know you as well won't always know you're joking/your sense of humor, or may not mentally be in a space to fully comprehend it as a light prod instead of a "hey dude where's my content."

I think it's also a good reminder that fandom is a community first. I know there's a lot of discussion centered around how we're sliding into a more content mill like vibe vs that community, and that a lot of us are getting impacted by it a bit--I'll be the first to say I was more touchy even before the trees because I've had a lot more weird, demanding comments lately than I ever used to get. Not just in ST either--I'm seeing it on my older fics, in fandoms that are significantly smaller and typically very drama-less. While my policy normally is to delete and ignore, sometimes it builds (and then two trees almost kill you by collapsing your house and you start biting heads off after being stuck in a hotel with your family for two weeks.)

Anyway, thank you sincerely, for apologizing. It did not go unnoticed <3

Frankly my studio is horrific. There's always at least 7 eyeless portraits of things on the wall in varying states of completion, loose beads and what was once a party pack of shots, drying bones + plants, toilet paper, mugs of old paint water, at least one propane torch in a bread bowl, half tooled leather scraps, and then when the sun hits you right and you sneeze, bam! There goes fifteen dead butterflies.

#oh garfield mug we're really in it now #things there are also: small xmas tree. sheets. perfume. bird legs. a very large aloe vera that doesnt need to be in here any more #house paint. old boots. a lot of sandpaper. dried orange slices. nitrile gloves. a tackle box full of findings and jump rings #small wood frames. copper wire. a heated blanket. paint covered paper plates. glass hearts and coyote teeth in the same parcel #beetle elytra. a torn apart speaker. my airbrushing set up. two fake neon signs of trees.

Giving up and making a post asking you nerds about this: I recently inherited an Xbox One from my brother, and then he got me a monitor for my birthday. It's a computer monitor, not a TV, and therefore does not have speakers. It also, as far as I can tell, does not have a 3.5mm jack, although I'll keep looking. The Xbox One does not have Bluetooth functionality, so my regular headphones are useless, and does not support USB audio, so the speakers I already own are useless as well. The Xbox One does not have a 3.5mm jack. Help

#so far i've been plugging my $5 dollar store earbuds into the controller but i don't wanna do that forever #I could also just get wired headphones but idk I want speakers maybe!

Do you think there's a connection from phones (esp iphones) dropping the headphone jack and people just listening to things on their phone speakers?

im about to go joker mode

#is it too much to ask for things to just work. how theyre supposed to.#i cant fucking hear so i plug my wired headphones into my laptop #audio continues to play out of the speakers #i run through all the options #making sure the headphones are selected- oh wait they dont even show up as being plugged in #so i try a different pair of headphones. same problem.#i update drivers i uninstall and reinstall i restart my laptop.#not working #i say fuck it i guess ill use my airpods which have worked about 80% of the time in the past #pop one in says its connected. play video. audio plays out of speakers #im gonna rip my computer in half
